I dropped my Nikon camera this evening and it is stuck with the lens out and when and if it comes on it says "Lens Error". Is there any hope of fixing it? I read in the manual and all I could find was "Do not drop camera" I guess that's obvious. I also tried changing the batteries to see if that would make a difference, but no luck. I'm very mad at myself right now but would like to know of the possibility of this getting fixed or if I should begin the search for a new camera. Thanks for any help!

google the make and model and the problem.

I had a friend with a similar problem with a canon p&s, the solution I found online was to gently pull or push while twisting the lens, I decided to try it, and fixed it

I had a similar situation. I googled the situation and they suggest very gently tapping the camera on its side to loosen the lens.

It worked for us. I think I place a towel or wash cloth on the table and tapped the camera on its side a few times and it realigned the lens.
