Actually I'm asking this for my teenage daughter who is saving up to get her hair braided in those cornrow type braids..she wants to do this in Disney. I know they do these on the cruises, but does anyone know if any WDW resort does this? Not the strands of hair that they put the beads in, (at the waterparks and at some resorts) but the actual braiding. And if you do know, how expensive is it?

hi: sorry that i can't be more definite, but i have boys (and 1 dil). i believe they had a stand on the boardwalk that would do this. hopefully someone will be able to help you better.

We wanted to do this on our last trip & asked around a bit, we were only able to find the beaded braids, not the corn row braiding.

My 15 year old DD had this done at YC/BC Beauty & Barber Shop in September. Did cornrows from forehead to crown then they curled the rest of her hair - it was fabulous and she left it in for about two weeks. The total cost was $100 + tip, but she also had her hair cut, washed and dried.

I know they do this at the pool at CBR. My friend had it done there,I'll ask how much it cost .

My daughter has had it done on the cruise 3 times and it lasted for over 4 weeks each time. We did talk to someone on our last cruise who had it done at YC/BC and she said it fell out after about a week and she paid around $100, she was having it redone on the cruise. We paid $40 on the cruise to have the "crown style" done.

Just when I thought you'd be laughing at my question....

That's exactly what she was looking for, the cornrow "crown" but without the cut, curl, etc..hopefully it won't be as expensive if we cut down on that stuff. Oh, it would be awful to have it fall out after paying so much!

We'll be at the Dolphin, so YC/BC would be convenient, but would gladly go to CBR if the price was right; thanks for checking MB!

My two teen DD's had the cornrows done to the crown on their heads last July at Periwigs Salon at the YC. It cost about $50 each. Older daughter with shorter hair, only lasted about 4 days. (She did have bangs she was growing out.) Younger daughter with longer hair, lasted about 2 weeks.

There was a more extensive discussion about this on the Budget or Disney Tips board. From what I've read, it is only available at the YC salon, unless that has changed from last summer.:)

By the way, both of my girls loved it, as it was all the rage at the pool last summer. They'd had the wraps several times and wanted something different.:)
