I just wondered if anybody got the offer of Free Disney Dining with Virgin for Summer 2008? I'm just asking because I know there is every chance that Disney won't provide the offer again but we are looking to go to Disney in 2010 and thought that it would be a good deal if it was on offer.

My questions are - could we have stayed at the Polynesian and still got the deal? And - when were you able to book for 2008 - i.e. in August 2007? And was there much availability left? We are looking for August 19th to September 2nd?

I know it seems ages off but we have not long been back and like everybody says the only way to get over a Disney holiday is to start planning the next one and I like to know I much I need to save each month so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks xx

We got free DDP for our stay in August this year through Virgin and we've got it again for August next year but via WDW UK, I do believe it was offered at the Poly and it was something like staying between 11th August to end September and you had to book between September and November of this year, sorry it's a bit vague!

We didn't book straight away and had no problem booking it

The previous post is correct.

If you sign up with Virgin Holidays, they will send you a mailing when the offer is due to start.

From previous years, it has always gone on sale in August and usually expires around the first week in Nov. (When to book, not the holiday).

I'm sure it has been offered for the last 3 years ( 2006. 2007, 2008), so hopefully it will still be available for the year that you want.

The only thing I would add, is that we were looking for school holiday dates, and I couldn't get them, so I have to take DS out of school for 4 days early September.

All UK tour operators, offer the free dining.

Hi Disney Jo

Sorry to be nosey - but did you book direct with Disney as it worked out cheaper? I have been looking at that option - pretending I am going next year (if only!) but the flights were so expensive that we barely saved anything but would obviously have had the added hassle of all the different bookings such as flights, car and hotel? I just wondered what your experiences were like? Many thanks with your help about the dining.

Hi, we have saved about £200-£300 booking it direct, as you say the flight prices are ridiculous about £1000 more than our 2 weeks at POR including our tickets :faint: We only hire a car for a few days and use ME so the car hire bit isn't an issue for us! By booking direct with WDWUK we get some perks like VIP seating for Illuminations and Wishes and a few other bits. We booked with the UK one as we got the free DDP but as that deal is gone I think it's cheaper to book on the US WDW site :thumbsup2

BTW I was born in Gt Yarmouth and all my family live near Lowestoft, I'll be weather permitting walking on Lowestoft beach on Christmas day :goodvibes

We were going to go with Virgin but for some reason their system wanted to charge us for the final 3 days of DDP- Free dining offer finished for flights up until 27th Sept (I think) & as we are there until the 30th but we are going on the 9th so flight is before...... Anyway no such problem with WDWUK so they got the business & all i need to find is flights-anything less than £1600 for 3 of us & I will have saved money!
