I have been looking at the different Disney excursions for Nassau and wonder from experienced cruisers with children of similar age: What did you enjoy with your family & on the flip side, what was a drag?

We are leaning towards the Blue Lagoon Beach day or the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter.

I just can't see paying money to go to a hotel - if we were going to do that we'd take a page out of Barb and Tony's book and stay on the ship :-)

Any non-DIS excursions that are worth while?

Less than a year till we're cruisin'!!! (Actually my pocket-book thinks it's fast approaching :-)

Blue Lagoon is the best choice (and inexpensive)

Our family went to Blue Lagoon. Don't forget to bring drinks. They are not included with your meal. We enjoyed the shallow area to play in. We were unable to go snorkling on the ocean side. The tide was to low. It was relaxing and a great area to relax and let the kids play.
Bring a good book and have fun. Christine.

We (DH, DD then 13, DS then 12 and myself) went on the Blue Lagoon excursion during our April 2000 cruise. We had a great time and thought the island was lovely. We snorkeled in the ocean (it was wavy and rough but we did see lots of fish) and lazed around the lagoon. One nice aspect of the excursion is that you can leave the Blue Lagoon at any of several different times; the boat made 3 trips back to the pier in the afternoon.

thanks for all the advice. Makes it much easier to save the dolphin $$ for goodies on the ship!!
