Speaking of my behind, I have to confess I haven't gotten up and exercised ONCE since we've been home. I've just been trying to get caught up on sleep because I've been so tired at night. So next week the gloves are off. I have to get back at it or I'll be gaining 5 lbs. over the holidays for sure.

We are in room 2034 (at this point anyway.) I asked to be right by the midship elevators and she informed me that only 3 people can be there and 2034 was the closest. Which is basically by the FORWARD elevators. Oh well.

I told Chris this whole story a few minutes ago and he just rolled his eyes. We're back to that. No discussing crusing... too far off to discuss:sad2: .

Wellll... you won't get that secret porthole room because according to my TA I just took the last one. Last night I looked up the room they had given us on deck 2 and wasn't too thrilled when I figured out it was pretty much right below Rockin Bar D.:scared1:

So I was gonna change it to another room further back and then thought about the secret porthole rooms so just asked. We got one of the ones closest to the forward elevator (deck 5). I hope this won't be too high up as far as motion sickness goes, but hopefully we won't have the rocky seas we had this year. It will be a western and everything I read is usually the westerns are less likely to be rocky than the easterns.

we arnt sure about the 09, depends on Gregs job, but we will try.

Going to do a little Christmas decorating today and then work with Pixie some more. She is still afraid to leave the house after being lost a couple months ago. Poor baby is having a terrible time.
She will go in the car but gets nervous still, but we cant get her to walk, even out to the drive way on her leash. She starts shaking really bad, then sits down with ears down, head down and tail between her legs and will sometimes pee from fear.
I think we have our work cut out for us with her, this will take a few months I'm afraid.

She told me it was for 4 and in the review I read they had a family of 4 in the room. Might make a difference which one you get because some don't have steamer trunks. According to the review this one does. :thumbsup2 It's 5024.

Ok there is some serious competition out there. The 2009 Cruise I just booked (the Aug. 15 with Tortola) already has 227 posts! and I think it was created after this thread.

Is it me? Do I just attract chatty people? I now have a lot more to keep up on.

So there was an idea floating on that thread that I thought was cool but don't know how it will work yet. One of the folks on the thread said they were on a cruise last year where they created a website for the cruise. I thought that was a great idea but of course I don't have that capability so I just thought I'd float it out there. (pun intended). Once they build the site, I'll let everyone know what it looks like, what's included, etc. And maybe we can get a web savvy volunteer to do one for us! :goodvibes

Hunter is back at school with all his homework done. We finished up the last of it on Sunday. His cast came off on Friday the 7, when they cracked it open there was sand in it. I thought it was funny. They said he will be as good as new once the muscles grow back. He is using it normally. I keep telling him to call the boys, but he is kinda shy on the phone. We all know that isn't the case when you meet him face to face.

well I am off to bake up the last of my cookie dough today. Then freeze them.
Got to take Pixie to the vet this afternoon. she has sores around her muzzle and had a few on her tummy which have turned black now? I thought it was fire ant bites at first 10 days ago but they arnt getting better, so now i am thinking an allergic reaction to something. this is why I am getting grey hair at last:sad2: worring about my babies.

I agree re the Tortola thing. That's why we booked it.

Re your "alone time" - you are absolutely right. Even though we added onto our house in part to get me a dedicated office, I still find myself needing to get away. I do it in a number of ways. I schedule lunch with friends in town, I meet clients at Starbucks, I take the laptop to Panera and have lunch and then stick around for a couple of hours of work or catching up. I also usually work out in the miiddle of the day - the mood will strike, I'll get out of the office and head to the gym. And when I get a bad case of writer's block, I pack things up and get out of the house and head to my favorite coffee shop with great leather couches and a fireplace and spend the afternoon cranking out the work.

Hey everyone...wow you guys have been very busy while I was in WDW!

I wish I had time to socialize more on our vacation...I spent way to much time in our room and in the laundry room...but I still had a great time! Turns out we all had bad ear infections and not sea sickness as we thought! Oh well...I have been hinting to Glen since they all got sick on me...he owes me a cruise:thumbsup2

I was talking to the ships nurse twice...the girls always seemed to get "sick" when the dr. was off...but because they had no fever or any other symptoms she was sure it was seasickness...Glen woke up Sunday morning in WDW and couldn't even talk...so I phone my dr. back home and we went to him as soon as we got back...he couldn't get over how bad all of our ears were...poor Alicia cried so much when we were landing but thankfully she did no damage. When my girls get sick all they usually want to do is sleep but they had so much energy and for the most part are very happy...Glen has gotten worst since he has been home...I think he picked up the stomache flu when we were at the dr...he has lost 10 pounds and hasn't been back to work yet. Poor guy never gets sick.

Your right the kids just kind of dominated our time...next cruise I'll be taking my mom;) 2009 is so far away but I would like to join you guys...maybe...

It's snowing now but doesn't look like it's going to amount to much more than a dusting or an inch or so. There's only one or two times a year when I don't mind the snow. Wow I'm jealous. I have another year of my contract with Verizon before I can switch over to AT&T and get the iphone! The kinks on my upgrade to Leopard have seemed to work themselves out. I've read a few things that it was a common problem and Apple addressed it in an almost immediate update that my computer downloaded a few days after I upgraded.

Good to hear the problems resolved themselves I figured they would!!

Chris thought it would be a good idea because that way I can manage all of his appointments through the calendar on our IMAC and it is automatically synced with both our iphones when they are charging at the computer. It actually makes a lot of sense. (Not just an excuse to get new iphones:laughing: )

I've actually been getting reminders for his appointments on my phone here at work this morning which has been amusing me. I'm sitting here listening to music on it since I downloaded some of my playlists just like I do with my ipod. It sounds good, better than my computer does. AND I even have an episode of "The Office" on there and a "Little einsteins" for the kids.

The man who came to see the house on Thursday is beinging his wife to see the house today, so keep the pixie dust coming we need it!! :goodvibes Houses just arnt selling well right now. So many people being put out of work and builders going under right now. Many of our friends have been laid off already, it will be our turn soon.
Some builders are offering the first year with NO mortgage payments as an incentive to buy, plus free pools and free stainless steel appliances. One builder was even giving away a New Kia car if you bought one of their houses.

Greg just old me last night 2 more builders went under last week.

On a happier note our oldest son is coming to visit today and staying until after Christmas. Poncho, his dog and our dogs play really well together. I have a stocking and gifts for each of them. I think they got ore than the rest of us:lmao: They have such cute dog toys out now and the treats look better than some human treats do!! YUMMY!!

well I am off to boil a lot of eggs for deviled eggs, postao salad, macaroni salad, wont cook the ham until tomarrow. Also going to make the shells for cream puffs and take the cookies out of the freezer and frost and decorate them.
I am also ordering pizza for dinner so NO cooking tonight! WOO HOO!!

That's good news about the house Kathy!

Temps went from 45 late last night to -1 wind chill this morning. We've had snow on the ground since we came back from the cruise.:sad2:

Last Saturday we probably picked up about 6 inches of the fluffy stuff. We've been lucky not to be completely buried in snow or ice like other parts of the country.

Time to clean up the house. We have a small get-together here on Christmas Eve and then off to the Wilson Christmas on Christmas Day. Then my family will get together on the 29th at my brother's house.

Hi Denise!!

Not sure -- but I imagine they would allow it. We did our rebooking on the 2007 with only one deposit down. We currently have a "placeholder" for a December 2008 cruise. Once we pick a date (Nov. 2009 if not 2008) and cabin, we'll put the rest of the deposit down and start paying for the cruise itself.

I was surprised by how flexible the whole thing is. And of course, if you end up NOT cruising, you can get your deposit back. They make it so there's no reason NOT to rebook on board!

Yes I meant to say the sauce. I cook noodles separate, however I know someone who cooks the noodles 2/3 of the way, then put in the sauce for about 5 hours on low and they are done too and very flavorful.

If I tried that I know the noodles would be mush.:lmao:

I looked at the drawings of the new ships from that magazine and there really are not a lot of more details I can give you except they look bigger. I'm wondering how accurate they are because it looks like they just made them look like the old ships except larger!

This will be the 4th cruise together for many of us, the 3rd time for others.

The ship is decorated for Christmas and there is a tree lighting ceremony the first day. It is so cool, be sure and be in the atrium not on an upper deck so when it is over you can see the surprize the best!!

The weather is great. Florida was cool in the evening before the cruise. we were all trying to visit outside at the Radisson hotel but it got so cold we had to go in before it got very late.

The islands were great and we even did snorkeling without freezing.

Oh, I am kathy, I am the mean old lady who threatens people with my whip (see my signature) to make sure they keep posting.:lmao: Just the two of us,kids are all grown and moved out:banana:

I am not too mean here yet because we are so far away and we all have an Nov 08 cruise to do first.:thumbsup2

Maybe you could make a deal with his teachers for him to keep a diary of what he saw on the islands or write a report on how different people live on the islands compared to home or something like that.
Plus as long as they know ahead of time you can usually get all his work ahead of time and do it before the trip so he wont have to worry about it while on vacation. Most teachers will work with you .

Hope you can book with us, the sooner you can book the lower the price will be too. It keeps creeping up each month.

Hi Dawn!

I was pretty surprised that the damage was as close to our house as it was!

I didn't even know there was a tornado warning until Jessalyn got off the bus from school. I asked why the bus waited until she actually got into the house. She said, "there's a tornado warning, Mom.":scared1: :scared1:

I turned on the TV and two of three local network stations has regular programming and a little tornado warning icon in the lower corner of the screen. The third station was actually talking about the situation and the track of the storm.

I told Jess to get some things and go to the basement. We lost power shortly afterward and I had a heck of a time finding a local radio station that was actually talking about the weather!:mad:

Anyway, it's lucky the tornado went through the countryside and there were only a couple injuries -- certainly no thanks to the local stations giving storm warnings!!! I guess the damage by Kenosha, WI was much worse.

Anyway, that's been our "excitement." Temps are in the teens now -- hard to believe it was in the sixties only a week ago!!!

Cheri- Glad you survived the tornado. I didn't know it had come so close!! I haven't been posting too much, but have been trying to check in and post every few days.

It's been kinda weird for me right now. I'm still here at work until Jan. 31st, but I'm not really "here" because everybody knows I'm leaving soon, and don't really have a ton to do other than clean out my office and computer. But Chris has lots of things that he wants me to do of course, which is difficult because he's not giving me the information I need to complete them.

Food for thought...I'm thinking that I want to go on the Dec 5, 2009 cruise to St. Croix. I went online today to see if the cost rises and it doesn't. I may call and see what happens if I were to reserve today and I "rebook" on the ship for the discount and shipboard credit? If I can, I think I'll book with just me and add the boys on ship.

Do any of you have interest in changing our Nanahead cruise to one week later? I know it's one week later and closer to Christmas but I rather go to St. Croix than St. Maarten. Haven't decided but I think that's the way I'm leaning.

How flattering! Our Nana Heads is a group that have sailed together in the past and have future plans as well.

As all of us know, being a DISer and a DCL fanatic gives us all the creative freedom to become our own Imagineers! I'm sure your group will come up with a great theme and name that will be exclusive to you and have special meaning! Plus we have a designer in the group that may help you with your themed t-shirt designs!
