Just wondering what are some the of the US airlines you everyone uses to travel within the US and who offers the best deals? Looks like my dad may be moving to the US and he was wondering...
Hey Jaime, probably the best one out their right now is Southwest Airlines. They purchased insurance against high jet fuel prices so they are the only ones that are immune from $140+ a barrel oil!

I am here just been getting used to work again and it has left me wiped out.
I need to unpack my case but thankfully it is only clean clothes now. Holidays are all fun and good but they leave you more exhausted than you start off I think lol.
Trouble is now I have nothing to distract me I cannot think about anything except my disney cruise or even disney holiday it is like i am obsessed.
I know how you feel... I wish we were going on another cruise this year. We do have a few trips to Disney between now and next November, so that helps ease the anticipation.

We went in 2005 and really enjoyed it. We walked onto almost every ride. On Buzz we were the only ones...know one around us. There was lots of candy...free face painting in toon town...dance parties with characters...they even had themed fireworks and a parade. We enjoyed it more than the Christmas party. The Christmas party is fun but there is something to be said when your children can wear "normal" Halloween costumes without having to wear winter jackets:) It is something we want to do again.

We just got back from the beach. Only got 4 or 5 pictures this time, will post them tomorrow.
we had nice 60 degree weather with almost no wind most of the time , so it was warm enough to walk the beach. From our camp it was 1/4 mile to the trail and the trail was 1 1/4 mile to the beach, then climb up over the sand dune and down to the beach, plus we walked about amile down the beach on saturday.
They slept all the rest of the day and we had to wake them for food and a late night potty break before bedtime. They ran circles around us and all over the sand, they probably ran 3 times as far as we walked.
we took them back down to the beach this morning and they had energy, but nothing like the day before. Then they slept all the way home and are still laying around We did see 2 rabbits, 2 large doe and several squirrels along the trail to the beach.
well I have laundty washing, dogs to bathe, all the fun things that go along with camping for a few days. at least I dont have to unpack since we just took our house with us:lmao:

I'm with Jaime. I think the Halloween party was the most fun! But in all fairness when we went to the Christmas party we were freezing! At all the parties, we've been able to get on any ride we wanted with virtually no wait!
Here are the boys with their face paint. I had made their outfits. Skylar was Indiana Jones and Christian was Captain Jack Sparrow.

It's been a busy weekend! Friday night we had a really bad storm with "straight line winds" come through. It was scary. :scared1: We were without power for most of the evening afterwards. We were fortunate not to have any damage but some of our neighbors did. Over 100,000 people in Omaha were without power and many still are! They said it could take weeks to get them all back on.
Chris had a wedding saturday so the boys and I were alone all day. I took them on a couple of outings and wore them out really good!:rotfl:
Today we went to an art fair and just got caught up on things.
I was following the conversation about Halloween and Christmas at Disney. Just wondering, why is it that there are hardly any lines? Wouldn't that be a busy time? I'm more of a cruising expert than Disney could somebody enlighten me?

Basically (I think) it's really strong winds in a storm but they are not circular like a tornado. I heard these winds were about 65-80 mph and were even faster higher up. That's why there was so much damage around here.
This is really sad but there were 2 teenage boys killed because a tree fell on their car with them in it.

Good morning all!
I guess it is afternoon where I am. I am recovering from all my weekend fun. Scrapbooking for too many hours.
I am glad to hear everyone had safe travels this weekend. I hate the getting back clean-up too.
I just finished unpacking the car and am already dreading having to load everything back up next week. I brought a lot of projects to get finished. I brought so many my head is spinning. I am now making a list so I can stay on task.
I have not looked for Halloween fabric for my extender yet. I will do that next week unless I go to a little quilt shop in the mountains. Anyone know how many pockets to put on the extender? One per person?
The cruise will be here before we know it! I am getting excited. I will not be taking any projects with me on the cruise.
Have a great day all.

I was thinking of doing the Halloween party before the cruise we are doing in October or just going to one of the parks the day we get back. Which would you suggest?
Also will it be crowded during the Halloween party? I think there will be some Halloween stuff on the boat.
Any costume ideas? We have tons of pirate stuff but I was thinking Titanic Survivors (or maybe some who didn't make it)???

I'm sure glad I'm going to have Dawn to make me a fish extender for our cruise. Last year I just used a felt gift bag! I'm not much of a seamstress!!
Last year we crusied just before Christmas and I used a stocking I bought for $1.00. I was so desperate I assembled my door decorations in the cabin. I made a Mickey shaped wreath to go around the cabin numbers. I bought the stuff at Walmart just before we got on the ship.

Good Morning! I hope every one is around today!
I have lots of stuff to accomplish these 3 days in order to be able to leave first thing Thursday morning! But I'll be back to check on everyone!
Hi Dawn...hope you have a great trip. I am being lazy and don't want to read back through the posts. What are the dimensions of the fish extenders and how many pockets do you usually have on them? I can actually sew and may make an attempt at making one.

Ok about time I gave you a little unofficial Malta holiday report so here goes nothing
Our First Day at Malta
Well first full day at least we left home Wednesday but were travelling until about 2.30am in the morning.
The first full day me and Mum were up early and decided to walk down to the seafront and look at the sea.
Here is a photo of my Mum in front of the Sea.
http://img4011.photobox.co.uk/94502159185d261c29f02115e13abf4cb28989ff213429ae0b bfb5b249c3ab129a81e63e.jpg
Here is the sea view from our self catering apartment the place was ok but very very basic but we could see the Sea from the back and the front which was fantastic.

Then we got caught by evil Time Share Touts trying to force us to buy a time share by convincing us we had won a holiday.
After we finally got away about 2 hours later we relaxed by the pool here is Mum again.

I have cruised with Kay before. She is an older, nice lady.
we did a 3 day with her and her friend. Her DH passed away a few days before the cruise. She was quite a trooper.
I see what you mean about a quiet thread. That happens often on 3 and 4 day cruises.
I have had a couple of those with only 2 other families, but we did meet and say hello and saw each other around the ship a lot.
I doubt if Kay will remember me, but tell her I said Howdy:goodvibes

I was thinking of doing the Halloween party before the cruise we are doing in October or just going to one of the parks the day we get back. Which would you suggest?
Also will it be crowded during the Halloween party? I think there will be some Halloween stuff on the boat.
Any costume ideas? We have tons of pirate stuff but I was thinking Titanic Survivors (or maybe some who didn't make it)???
I would always go for the Halloween party! That's the way to do MK! No, it is NOT crowded. Have you been to a special party? They do special parades and AWESOME fireworks! The last I knew they were still doing them--360 degree fireworks! It is one of those awe-inspiring moments for the first time! I never get sick of MK
You should look to see what they are doing at the Halloween party! If it is still heavily pirate oriented the boys might still want to be pirates!

Well, I am not entirely sure. I received an email message sometime last year asking me to join a group of moms and answer some questions for Disney. It sounded too goo to be true but has turned out to be real.
About once a week we are given simple tasks: discuss a DVD release, give suggestions for movie related websites, look at story boards for possible new movies, etc.
I have no idea how I was selected and even asked the facilitator but got no reply. I think there are about 500 of us and you have to have a child between the ages of 5-11 or so.
The best part is seeing story boards and story lines for movies that have not even been made. Oh, and we get to help with TV adds for upcoming releases.
What I really want is to get on the list of people who get to host the cruise launch parties in their homes. You get a ton of free Disney Cruise stuff and get to have a party for all your friends and family!

I was going to have them sign a white matte and then put a photo of the trip in it afterwards. You would think that wouldn't be a big deal since we do have a photography business. But it got to be the week of and I didn't have a matte. And I had SO MANY things to pack and worry about for the 4 of us that I decided to just let that one go! Maybe next time!
It was rough packing for two little ones and DH and one of mine was still in diapers (the children that is:lmao:) That's another reason why I'm glad to wait until 2009 to cruise again. Not that I'm sure it's gonna get any easier!:rotfl:

Good Morning!
The PRESSURE of going on vacation! :rotfl: I do have a lot to do today. Christian is going to games at the library, probably do some errands at that time. I'm trying to get more sewing done before the holiday. People really hit e-bay during that time!

I would do the Halloween Party...you'll love it. You can also get in the MK as early as 4:00 even though the party doesn't start until 7:00. They just give you your braclet when you enter. If you like doing rides and seeing the characters the party is the best time to go to the MK. The candy is an extra bonus too:goodvibes

Morning everyone!
Wow this was a busy board yesterday!
We were at dance last night from 5:30 until 11:30...everyone here is sleepy. It was a fablous show...the dancers are very talented. My girls had alot of fun...this is the last show for the year. Lenny Len from the movie Step Up 2 was mc. He really got the crowd going.
Today is Canada Day...so we'll have a barbque a little later and if our girls can stay up we will go to the fireworks.
Jaime
07-01-2008, 08:50 AM
I would always go for the Halloween party! That's the way to do MK! No, it is NOT crowded. Have you been to a special party? They do special parades and AWESOME fireworks! The last I knew they were still doing them--360 degree fireworks! It is one of those awe-inspiring moments for the first time! I never get sick of MK
You should look to see what they are doing at the Halloween party! If it is still heavily pirate oriented the boys might still want to be pirates!
I agree!:goodvibes It was by far our favorite Fireworks.

I love the AKL pictures Chuck! We looked into buying DVC there on our last cruise...we decided not too because of the cost of airfare:sad2: The cost of airfare will make it impossible for us to continue our annual trips. It looks very beautiful there! We are hoping to rent points to stay there before our next cruise or we may look into buying a small DVC membership of resale and just bank and borrow for a trip every third year.

07-01-2008, 09:45 AM
I feel your pain on the airfare. Although we have been pretty lucky, even now, with gettting decent airfare. Philly is a main hub for US scare and Air Tran so it is not too bad, but I am sure it's just a matter of time. We can make the drive in about 18 hours if we had to.'
We love the AKL, we were going to buy 3 years ago, but decided to wait for AKV to open up. When we were there last year they were offeringa great incentive and we took the bait.

Melanie, It may be hard but you'll be glad you traveled with them. My boys travel like seasoned adults. (Well, at least I think so.)
Thanks for the encouragement Dawn.
My goal is to teach my boys to do some of it themselves eventually. Their father doesn't pack anything for himself, I have to pack everything.
Last year when we went to Yellowstone I decided to boycott and make him pack his own things. Don't know if you remember this story... but we ended up going to a MALL in Casper Wyoming to find him shirts. Because he hadn't packed ANY shirts for a week's vacation.:rotfl:
I also hope to teach them to pick up behind themselves too... :confused3

The smoke seems ot have cleard from the fires in California today. They say it will be back later today . So I had better enjoy looking at the sun now, it spoon will be behind a hazy cloud.:sad2:
They are having the Olympic trials in Eugene, which isnt too far from me so that is all we hear on the TV all day and night. It seems most of our stations are local Eugene stations. i will be glad when they end this weekend.

Hi Lisa,
boy we are quiet today:confused3
We need to get a chatter going here about something, so I will post a question of the day for everyone to answer. That helps to get aquainted.
Who is your favorite Disney character and why?
My answer is Donald Duck.
I love him because he seems more real due to loosing his temper, he makes mistakes but appologises later. I can relate to him and goofy.
Mickey is to much a goody two shoes who never does anything wrong.
Plus Donald make sme laugh so hard I cry, especially whenhe is goofing around with Chip and Dale.
Ok, now its your turn to answer.

Favorite Character? There are too many to choose. I guess I would have to say Mickey Mouse. Favorite princess....the Little Mermaid.
We did make out climb up Bald Mtn. this morning. We got there around 8:30, pulled into the parking lot and no one was there! I normally wouldn't have thought anything about it but with craxy hiker I was a little nervous. Took my time getting the kids out of the car and sunscreen/bug spraying them. Then the ranger came by to chit chat and told us that there had bee a lot of rattle snakes on the trail. :scared1: We finally get away from him and head up the trail only to reach the summit and find out it is closed because they are spraying some toxic sealer on the stones.
So we headed into town and I shopped for Halloween fabric at an awesome quilt shop. They said to come back at the end of the month because they'll have a lot more in stock.
I am now going to make dinner and buy tickets to the Halloween party at MK for the Everest weekend.

We are watching RV for the millionth time. I am not sure what it is about the movie but it makes me want to run out and buy one (until I think of putting gas/diesel in the thing). I had an Excursion that only got about 11 mph, but it was peppy with a V10. So glad I don't have it now.

she will go and pout all day where ever I am. then when I set it up on the bed to pack, she goes to the opposite sideof the bed, puts her chin on the bed and just stares at me with a sad look. One time she even had little tears rolling down her checks:sad2:
I could hardly believe my eyes, talk about a guilty feeling:guilty:

Dawn,
your baking inspired me.
I got up walked the dogs, put the laundry in to dry and made a batch of sugar free peanut butter cookies.
Of course the pups each had to sample one to give their approval:lmao:
Now that it's 85 in here I had to turn on the AC for a bit.
back later,

Dawn, do you like carrot bread? I never use to but I have an awesome receipt for very moist carrot bread. It taste weet enough for dessert.
my sons like to put a dab of cool whip on it and make a sandwich out of it.
You just dump it all together accept grating and getting some moisture out of the carrots.
Let em know if your interested and I will send it to you. I think I have it here in my box in the RV, not stored.

They are selling RV lots near our cabin for $100,000!:scared1: I thought the point was to get to see different places. It looks like a really fun place to stay though.
I'm with you. There is a place around here you can do that. I wanted our camper so we could take it on our trips. Not just park it for the summer. But with the cost of gas I'm rethinking the whole thing...:sad2:

Hi All!!!! :wave2:
Finally checking in to say "hi!"
Melanie -- I hear you had some bad weather your way last week -- hope all is ok at your place. My sister moved to Fremont on Tuesday, just in time for your hot weather!! They were unscathed by the storm.
Gotta get the kid to bed!

Poor pets. My cat just uses the potty on our suitcases when we get back. They can't be cleaned and I have to replace them. (We no longer have the cat.):sad1: I was allergic and it was messing up everything. It has a good home now.

Renee-
A bunch of Nanas over on the 2008 board are going to Gaitlinburg. They planned it a long time ago. I could of gone, but of course, I had to quit my job and decide to work for our business... sooo... no vacation this summer!:sad1:
Dawn is one of the ones going too! So we might see a little more action on this board while they're gone.
