I was just reading somwhere about the dinner seatings and wondered what everyone here was doing in terms of dinner seating times. So first or second and why you chose it? I had first seating but changed it to second, but now I'm rethinking it.........I was thinking less kids at second seating but then I'e be full a not ready for any late buffets.

I have early, but I am thinking that I will most likely bail out of dinners. I am morning person and I love going out for breakfast so I will do that, but there is so much that I want to do that I am not sure I want to spend 2 hours on dinner.

First DCL cruise for my wife and I. We did documents online, but still expect something to be sent to our home before we leave on 12/2. What should we be looking for? Somebody mentioned luggage tags.

I know what you mean. We've been to Nassau many times and after the second visit, I told me husband that if I hear, "Lady, braid your hair?" one more time I was going back to the ship! I tried to be nice at first and say "No, thank you" but after the fifth time, I just starting ignoring them.
The last few times, I've worn a hat with my hair tucked up underneath the hat.
But this time we are only getting off the ship to have Emily's passport stamped and then we are spending the rest of the day on the ship.
Oh i didn't even think of the passport stamp. Honestly I wasn't even going to get off the ship in Nassau. Maybe I should just to get the stamp. Where can you have that done?

Personnally we got stuck with 2nd seating and i'm not happy about it. My daughter usually goes to bed at 7:30. I can push it some, but she will be starving if we have to wait until 2nd.
Any ideas on how or if we can change this to first?

As you can see we are preparing our daughter for meeting the characters.

We haven't received our cruise docs yet either but we did checkin on-line.
I've been busy planning Emily's Christening this Sunday but on Monday I will be back in full cruise planning mode!
None of use own anything lime green but I will print some stickers, that's a great idea! And we will be wearing out Mousefest lanyards.
I'm so excited they have photopass on the ships now. I'll probably be spending half the cruise in-line getting photos of Emily with the all the characters.
your daughter is sooo stinking cute!!! I love that picture!
They have photopass on the cruise?!?! i thought they didn't offer that?

I just got off the phone with CM Caleb and he said that DCL will mail out the luggage tags 10-14 days before the sailing date.

Oh that's too bad. But the DCL CM said there's food available everywhere like deck 9 and also room service. I know you probably wouldn't want to miss eating in one of the restaruants on your rotation but you could have room service bring you something light or small to eat to curb hunger before that time. Also call DCL 800-951-3532 and be added to the main dining waitlist.

Thanks!!! I called. They couldn't switch it now. But he was very nice and said worse case scenario when i check in they should be able to help me out, especially because i'm travelling with a little one alone.
This trip is part of my daughtersbirthday celelbration as well. Has anyone done the DCL birthday celebration where they decorate the room and all?

We got stuck with second seating too becasue we didn't book until June. Emily usually goes to bed at 8pm so I don't know what we are going to do. I love to go to dinner and we are cruising with my parents and my in-laws. We will have to see how it goes.
Before we were blessed with Emily, we always had second seating and I loved it. We never had to worry about getting back to the ship in time for dinner while at port.
Maura,
According to some postings on the DIS cruise threads, DCL just started the photopass on the ships. I think it was either this week or next. So, they should have all the kinks worked out by the time we cruise! ;)
In Nassau, they stamp your passports in the building right next to the tall yellow building at the port, I think they are connected. You don't have to walk far, you can see it from the ship. This will be the first time we are having our passports stamped.

Oh that's awesome about the photopass. so that would mean that if we get the CD we can add cruise pix to it too, i would assume. We went in Jan and got the CD and it was a great deal. I think our CD had 600 pics on it. hehe My daughter likes to pose. hehe Plus you can add all the graphics and stuff too. So i was thinking about doing it for this trip, but wasn't sure because of the cruise.
My passport was stamped when we went to Guatemala. but this will be Georgia's first trip with her US passport. So it would be especially fun to get hers stamped. I think we'll have to go check that out. Thanks!!!

Hi,
We have second seating too and actually prefer it over first. We like it because there is no rushing back to get dressed after Castaway for supper and also, when you have breakfast on debarkation day--you have the later breakfast(8:00 or so versus having breakfast at first rotation of 6:30 or so) We are usually up late the last night on the ship--so a little extra sleep is good for us.:) Plus the longer on the ship --the better:thumbsup2 :goodvibes
To hold the kids over until our 8:00 or so eating time, we usually go up to deck 9 and grab a bite there or order room service. Our youngest -who will be almost 17 months old at the time usually goes to bed around 8:30 - 9:00, so we will make sure he gets something to eat before then.
Maura, I know when it was my birthday on the cruise a couple of years ago--my husband secretly let our server know ahead of time and the server brought out a birthday cake after our meal and sang Happy Birthday. You may want to do that for your daughter too.
WeLuvDisney---I like the picture of your daughter with all her Disney friends. :cool1: She's a real cutie!
I started checking in online for our cruise, but haven't quite finished yet. I think I will do that this afternoon. I am sure our documents will be here by the end of this week or next week for sure.

You will receive a small "book" about 3x6 for each memeber of your party. It will have all the forms in it that you filled out on-line (you do not need to fill them out again) and luggage tags. The only other paperwork you will need to fill out at the port is a small custom form. I'm not sure why they don't let us fill that out ahead of time. :confused3
Hello All!
We will be doing our first disney cruise (land and sea package) in less than a month now!! We have been counting down for some time now!! It is getting pretty cold here in Michigan so the troops are ready!! (first trip for the 7 year old he is SOOO excited!)
I have a couple of questions...does anyone know when the pirate deck party is? I think we scheduled our dinner at Palo on the night we are in Castaway Cay not knowing about the pirate party!! YIKES!!
My boys are 11 and 7 so they will be in different groups with the oceaneer lab/club does anyone know if they ever make exceptions for siblings? We are not counting on it, but just wondered if anyone had this come up.
Lastly we are going to drive into the port from Orlando, is there anywhere else to park other than right there at the port that may not be as expensive???
I appreciate all of your help, thanks so much!

Yes, DCL usually makes exception for siblings if one of them is within one year of the "cut off". Since the age groups are 3-7 and 8-12 you should have no problem moving your 7 yo into the 8-12 group. Just talks to the kids club CM when you get on the ship. We travelled with my couins and their sons last year and they accomodated them since the age was so close.

No, unfortunately. I think it's up to $12 a day? You may want to add up the rental car expense plus the parking and see if it's worth it versus getting Disney transportation.

My DH got me the birthday celebrations cake/decorations 2 years ago on my birthday (Dec 7). It was nice but we never got around to eating the cake because we were so full from lunch and then we were afraid to eat it since it wouldn't fit in the fridge and hadn't been refrigerated overnight (it looked like it was whipped cream icing). We saved the decorations to use at home on our birthdays. We cruised last year on my b-day and will again next month, but I told him to just put the magnet up that came with the package and not worry about getting the package again.
I did order my sons and our friend's children gift baskets from Shirley at the Perfect Gift. We've used her before and she's really great at making nice baskets which the kids love to find when they open the stateroom door.
J-lo, my boys are 7 and 11 too. The 11 year old loves the sports deck the most on the ship. Our friends are traveling with a 12 year old ds, ds8 and dd6. I may bump up our 7 year old to the 8/9 group because he's been in the 5-7 group 5 times already and prefers the oceaneer's lab to the club.
Are you staying at a hotel near the port? I know we are staying at a Marriot the night before we cruise in February and taking a shuttle to the port. It's $6 each for the shuttle with free parking.
Memobrien, your daughter is adorable!!!! Once you board, you can ask (or it should be on the navigator) where/when they are making changes to dining reservations. I know we've added people to our table, changed seatings, etc. once we've boarded. We'll be adding our friends to our table at Palo this trip. I think the last time we did it, they had it about 2PM in Beat Street.
We have early dining this cruise. We have done 2nd dining on past cruises and enjoyed that too. They both have pros and cons. I liked not having to rush back to change for dinner with 2nd seating. On the other hand, we really liked having the show after dinner instead of before dinner. Our boys also tend to fall asleep during the end of the shows or dinner, whatever is 2nd on our trip. I also felt really full at bed time with 2nd dining but that's because I ate way more every night than I usually do, I just couldn't pass up trying so many great items.

It's a flower/gift shop in Port Canaveral. 1-800-950-4559. Shirley often posts here on Disboards and is very, very nice. She makes all kinds of gift baskets, does flowers, wine/champagne, etc. You can send her items to add to baskets too. The ones I buy for my boys are sand buckets that have sand toys, movie size candy, a couple packs of chips/cheetos/pretzels (she'll put in whatever is their favorites) and drinks. There's 3 different size baskets. Small ones start at $25, medium ones at $35 and large ones $45. They are full of tatoos, stickers and other little things. You can add autograph books, pens, glow necklaces, balloons, etc (for an additional price). To deliver them to the stateroom, there is a $13 port charge per room. She will tie 2 together so you don't have to pay double. Since we live out of state and fly, we usually donate the buckets or give them to someone else sailing the day we get off the ship. Our boys love coming in the room and spotting the nicely wrapped baskets and rummaging through them. With the medium basket, they get 6 drinks and with the large baskets they get 8 drinks. I get a mix of water, caprisun and gatorade. They come in handy for shore excursions and the movie candy is great for them to snack on during the shows and movies.

They do have plenty of sand pails and beach items you can buy at CC too. I know they are a good $15++. We felt like we really got our money's worth with the snacks, drinks and of course the look on the boy's faces when they found the baskets. I realized how much they meant to them when the last 2 cruises they couldn't wait to open the door to see if they had something in there for them. They are thrilled to be on the cruise in the 1st place, but they love getting the baskets too from "Mickey and the gang." The baskets have a good 8-10 little sand toys & shovels in them.
One trip we did not get the baskets we asked at CC if our boys could borrow sand buckets from the kid's club and they had tons of them they were lending.
Hanover & WeLuvDCL- Thanks for the great info! The kids will be thrilled to hear that they can be together! I've been prepping the kids for the possibility that they will be split up, so this is great news, they are best buddies!
We are doing the land/sea trip so we will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort beforehand. After the cruise we will stay at the Clarion for a couple of extra days before heading home.
I keep reading about FISH EXTENDERS… I read that you pack presents to leave for others while on the cruise… is that right? You can buy or make one to hang outside your door??
Also, on CC we are going to do the stingray encounter, has anyone done this before and is it pretty cool? Are there any good places to snorkel off shore by chance as well or is it best to book an add on package for this?
I bought the passporters books and have read them cover to cover but i keep learning these new things here on the boards as well!
Thanks so much!!

J-lo, we've done the sting rays twice. Once last December and it was great. The boys seemed to really like it. It was a bit churned up so we couldn't see much there snorkeling. In August I took DS7 to the sting ray feeding again on CC when my husband and ds11 went on a jet ski tour (which they said was AWESOME). This time DS7 did not care for it and literally clung to my neck. He was freaked out by some of the big fish around the sting ray feeding areas and when the sting rays came by and rubbed against his legs he literally jumped out of the water on to my back & neck. He couldn't wait to get out of there that time.
As far as snorkeling goes, the snorkel lagoon is a must do for us. We bring our own stuff we've had a few years we bought at Sam's club or Costco. You have to wear a yellow life vest (but it doesn't have to be blown up all the way) they will provide at lifeguard stand or the snorkel gear rental shop. We love going out and finding all of the treasures hidden in the lagoon. If you see buoys in the water, there's always something good to find near them. It was a tad cold in the water last December, but you get used to it and the weather quickly warmed us up once we got out. DS7 has a little short sleeved wet suit I'm going to try and remember to pack becuase he turned a shade of blue he was so cold last December in the water. It had rained earlier that day so I think it was colder than the December water the year before we were at CC.
The fish extender is a small gift exchange. If you look up fish extenders on Ebay you can see what they are. I will try and find my picture of ours. You hang it outside the stateroom door and the individuals in a fish extender group share little gifts, leaving them as a surprise for the recipients to find. We did this for the first time in August and the boys loved it. They got all kinds of neat little treats. Some groups do a gift per each person, some do a family gift per cabin. It can be something like a post card or a bag of little stuff, it's up to the giver what they'd like to give.
GREAT INFO!! Thanks so much!
Now I have heard a lot of people talking about booking their next cruise while they are still on the cruise...do you get a really good deal or something??

Hi Jennifer,
Welcome:welcome: to this cruise thread. It is hard to believe that this cruise is just over 3 weeks away:thumbsup2 :goodvibes
Yes, you can get a great deal booking another cruise while on aboard. With 7 night cruises you can get 10% off, plus on board credit. With 3/4 night cruises, I think you get OBC.
I think somebody told me once thay you especially get great deals if you book on board the same time of year you are sailing. Either way the OBC is nice and if you take a longer cruise the 10% off is nice too.

With all the econmic issues and other big promos going on for WDW, I wonder if they will offer better deals online. Not that isn't a good deal. But I think in general place are offering more and more deals.

I think DCL will offer some decent deals in the next year. They just recently extended the military discount to include FBI, CIA, secret service and NASA employees plus the National Guard, Coast Guard and Reserves.
The fall bounceback deal I thought was exceptional and we took advantage of it with booking a 4 day on 2/1/09. I was afraid they wouldn't have any staterooms available for the $99 rate we wanted on 8/13 and went ahead and booked it. We're hoping to cancel/rebook the same cabin with the $99 code once we can start booking in April. There were only 8 staterooms in category 6 left in August so they are still booking them up----we'll see if they remain at that capacity once final payments are due.
They are really offering some great land perks right now and into mid 2009 too.

I am starting to get in the panic mode. No one does my work at work or home when I am gone, so I run around like a chicken with my head cut off to work ahead before I leave. It is going to be hectic the next 3 weeks. I leave 3 weeks tomorrow also.:cool1:
I am starting on the packing list and last night I glued the string on my fish extender, but now my husband tells me that there is a problem with the camera and we should get a new one, so I guess I will need to add camera shopping in.
My youngest daughter is most concerned that I am travelling alone and she thinks it would be best if she came to make sure I am ok:rotfl2:

Well I'm sort of excited but am really glad my bone spur problem is much better. With the help of the Dr. Scholl's corn pad remover I was able to do a little cutting of mine own and removed it myself. It was dead skin so no blood or pain. Now after I get back from the crusie I will have the foot surgery to remove the bone spur from the side of my toe altogether. My job wants me to fly out to Tucson AZ the week before the cruise for 4 days and I really don't want to. I'de be gome from Dec 1-4 and I then I'll be back on a plane again Dec 6. That's alot of flying in a very short amount of time. I'm trying to get out of it but it doesn't look that way right now.
I think I'll be more excited when I'm actually exiting the plane in Orlando and riding the shuttle across to board ME to the resort...........and even more excited when I see the DCL terminal for the first time:woohoo:

yeah i do know what you mean... and i worry that it would set the trend too. But where this is suppose tobe a birthday celebration too, i think i'm going for it.
My daughters and my birthdays are either on a holiday or really close to it, so we can't ever go away on the actual dates. (Family would kill us) So we end up celelbrating it NEAR the actual date. Actually my daughter is insisting that this cruise for both our birthdays. hehe The cruise is technically SMACK in the middle of the two of them.

OMG... that is too funny. Small world huh...
I'm in Medway. But I work in Framingham. I need to crack with getting ready this weekend. I jsut made my daughter try on all her clothes to make sure we are set. I have some custom outfits from when we went in Jan, luckily they all fit her. Unfortunately the princess dress didn't. But my best friend got one for her on the clearance rack at the disney store. I just need to figure something out for her for the pirate night. Then she is in good shape. I of course haven't even started to do my own. hehe

Welcome! It will be my 36th birthday on the 7th. Believe it or not, I've never met anyone (except my twin brother) with the same birthday!!
No cruise documents for us yet. Something tells me we'll have to stop by AAA to get them. Let's just say we won't be using the agent we did ever again. We met someone in August from our cruise meets that works for another Disney travel agency and booked our Baltic cruise and the bounceback offer through her and she's been phenominal to work with. Very prompt with all emails and is available by phone. We've used DUT a couple of times and been very happy with them, but this person is quicker and I like being able to call them.
We'll be at Epcot 3 weeks from right now probably in the mad rush for Soarin!
Then again, we may end up at the MK because I don't think we've ever started a trip out with anything but MK. We do have dinner ressies on the 6th we are keeping at the Garden Grill so we may just hop over. When I made the ADR's 6 months ago, I thought we were flying down really early on Friday but we decided to let the kids stay at school through 10 so they are marked as present that day. If they weren't missing 4 days in February I'd have done it, but I don't want them to miss any more. Their teachers and school system said they are fine with the absences as long as they keep up their good grades and do make up work.
We get in about 5:30 on 12/5 and will check in to AKV and have a late dinner at 7:30 at Chef Mickeys.
Keegan has his championship football game tonight at 6PM under the lights. They are undefeated and ranked #1 but you never know. It's miserable outside and expected to storm all day and be chilly/windy. I was hoping they'd postpone it until tomorrow but the league said they'd play in anything other than lightening. The school they are playing at is an hour away and I'm hoping the roads are ok.
See you all soon!

We are trying to get WII fit for Christmas and you cannot find it anywhere here, is it like that is the US?
I have some time when I arrive on Saturday to do some shopping any suggetions on what store chains would be good to check? I checked Amazon and them seem to have it, but here it is listed for $89 and Amazon it was $119 so I thought that was too high.
Thanks

We were offered 2:50 and 3:10 for the suite tour. I'm trying to get in touch with my friend to see if that will work for her.
Keegan's team won the championship and received a giant 52 inch football trophy. They played in pouring rain and during a tornado watch. Of course the boys loved it. We had to wash Keegan's white jersey 4 times to get it clean!! That was their 1st undefeated season and championship since 1984.
I called up his school this morning to see if they could make a short announcement and the secretary told me no, they don't do them for teams that aren't in the same town as the school He's played in Gettysburg (10 minutes away) for 5 years and their league is 100% better than the local one that doesn't start until 4th grade. He started at age 7 in Gettysburg. I wrote the principal a professional email stating I thought they should encourage/support all of their students accomplishments regardless of what team they play for. I really can't stand that secretary anyways. Last year the day after his chest mass/tumor was diagnosed, I was speaking to his school nurse and giving her his medication when the tardy bell rang. We had been there 10 minutes and she made me sign him in tardy. Another day when we got to the school at 1:30 after being at Hopkins pediatric oncology all morning she told me "why did you bother bringing him in, he's still marked absent." The only time she's ever been nice is when DH showed up in his police uniform for career day. Everyone I know says she's not nice (well they say worse but I'm being nice). It will be interesting to see if the principal responds. I have volunteered at the school dozens of times and have heard lots of announcments about acheivements so I thought it would be no big deal.

I have made some very good friends due to the DIS boards!! In fact, the friend I am cruising with, I met through these boards! I traveled to WDW in late Sept (after having been there about 2 weeks prior) just to meet a couple of people I have 'met' online on the Transportation board.

Good Morning!
No documents for us yet. Like I said before, I doubt our AAA agent will even call so we'll probably have to stop by and ask for them. At least we have our online registration done so we really only need our luggage tags.
I have not started to pack yet either. I finally got around to having the boys try on clothes and make sure they fit, so I at least know what will be going in the suitcases. We probably won't pack until the day before we leave. We keep an overnight back stocked all the time so besides our clothes and overnight bag, the only thing we need to pack is our FE stuff and our camera/video camera/lap top bag.
Does anyone know for sure the shows for each day. When we were on the double dip in August, they had the Golden Mickeys, then pirate night, then Toy Story then Disney Dreams. I just recently saw that they are doing pirate night on our cruise on CC day, which is different than the other 4 days we have been on. I asked my friend that's a TA and she could only find old navigators with pirate night on Nassau day. I called DCL and the woman said she only knows the movies not the shows. I'd like to find out so I can figure out a better time for our Palo reservations. I don't want our friends (1st time DCL cruisers) to miss out on the pirate festivities in the dining room.

Hi and welcome!
I'm glad to know there's other hold outs for documents!
The Roy Disney suit tour was being offered from Deb at Allearsnet.com as one of the Mousefest activities. Someone please correct me if my facts are wrong. I found the tour on this after reading about someone else on here booking it: http://www.mousefest.org/meets2008_start.php
I'm pretty sure they stopped the bookings on 11/15, but you could always ask if they have a wait list or an extra spot.

Our cruise docs arrived today! :cool1:
Can't wait to leave this AZ heat for cooler Florida! (88F here right now)

Funny how you'll be leaving from there and I 'll be coming there Dec 1-4 right before the cruise. I can't wait to feel some warmer whether. But it's not really cold here yet either (atleast to me)

We have a high of 39 today! We had some snow flurries yesterday but no big snow fall so far. I sure hope it doesn't decide to come on December 5th!
I'm going to call AAA today to see if she has our cruise documents.
Did anyone manage to snag a free upgrade?
Has anyone that registered for Mousefest received their lanyards, etc. I vaguely remember the information saying they'd mail it out a couple of weeks beforehand.
I did another set of t-shirts for pirate night and they came out pretty cute. I didn't burn myself this time either! I'll have to see if I can take a picture and I'll post them later.

I had an email from Dave on Monday offering to send my landyards and stuff to our hotel because mail can be slow to Canada, but I have a US post office box so it is being mailed there. So If they aren't sent out now they will be very soon I think.
Still no cruise documents for us either.
It is cold today -6 Celsius I think that is around 22 Fahrenheit no snow thank goodness the sun is out today. We will be ready for some warm weather by the time we get on the cruise.

Looks like we'll be the official last ones for getting our cruise docs!
I attempted my first ever shirt transfers today. Well, despite putting the decals on the wrong side and too high they turned out ok. I think those ones will be added to the boy pajama collection and I'll try again. I also burned my arm good. All the more reason I love Downy wrinkle release! If all goes well with the next batch, you will see us in our matching navy blue shirts with DCL name tags designed by Tom.
I didn'tget mine yet either. So maybe we will tie!
ok those shirts sound cute! i need to get off my butt and get the magnetic printed. Where is the best place to get the magnetic paper.
Thanks!

There is a thread that someone got the Hyatt for $72 plus fees for the Dec 5 on hotwire so if someone is hoping for the Hyatt it looks like it is available for Dec 6 also. From what I have read you need to look for the trip advisor rating of 4.5 out of 5 with over 100 reviews for the MCO airport hotels.

I finished our homemade t-shirts! I did navy blue shirts for embarkation day with a DCL I.D. tag of our names (Thanks to Tom's designs on the creative Disign thread) and a "let the magic begin" design on the back (from a picture of a menu). I did burgundy ones for pirate night with a small graphic of Mickey and Minnie with our last name, Romanoff's in the Caribbean. The back has a larger image of some characters in pirate garb. The image on the left is the front of the shirts and the right is the back:

thanks--they were actually super easy to make. I had someone (Tom) on Disboards design the name tags and used a copy of a menu for the back. I just printed them on transfer paper and ironed them on prewashed shirts. With the pirate ones, I used a design someone made for the front and a copy of a graphic I found on Disboards for the back.
Brennan had his pokemon league last night and when we got home the AAA agent had left a message saying our documents were in and we could pick them up.

You will get a Key to the World card at the resort when you check in. This will be your resort room key, park tickets, charge card and if you are on the Disney dining plan, the meal credits too. When you get to the DCL terminal, you will get another Key to the World card. Your resort may also have a check in desk for DCL that will really speed up your check in process for DCL.

When you get your Key to the World card, it will have your dining rotation/time listed on it. You will get "tickets" in your stateroom telling you where to go and what table.
As far as pirate night goes, the dining rooms have a special pirate menu, the wait staff is dressed in pirate attire, they do a cute little bit of entertainment I won't ruin by telling you and then the pirate party is in the evening. The pirate party is a lot of different dances at the Goofy pool with characters and DCL staff before fireworks. There's also a couple of other bits in there with Hook and Mickey but I don't want to ruin any surprises. After the party, there's a big dessert buffet and some other buffet foods like quesadillas, turkey legs, chili, crepes, etc.

It's a club of people that "battle" with Pokemon cards. There's kids from ages about 5 through older adults. On any given Thursday, there are about 30 to 50 people that come to play in the middle of the mall. It is an official league and for every so many battles, they earn pins and a pack of 3 or 4 cards. They have tournaments and pre-release dates where they play with new packs of cards before they are released to the public. Brennan got into Pokemon last year on the bus when his friends would trade cards among each other. When I was at KB toys in our mall buying him some new cards last year, I saw a sign that mentioned the league and then found out it was friends from baseball that started the local league here and we didn't know about it before then. Brennan really loves it. Keegan never got into it but enjoys hanging out at the mall once a week!

We have a rental car we'll be parking at the port. Our friends rented a town car from the Hyatt to the port and back from the port to the Hyatt.
Two weeks from right now we'll either be at MK or Epcot. DH and the boys really want to start off at MK, but the Christmas parade taping crowds scare me! I guess we can always hop. We have dinner ressies at the Garden Grill that night. Is anyone going to MVMCP on the 12th? Right now that's our plan but we still need to buy tickets. We're renewing our annual passes this trip too so I wanted to wait in case we decide to just hop to another park on the 12th. I love MVMCP, but it would be over $200 extra for us to get tickets.

Welcome to both of you! Be sure to check and get a feel for our first get-together.
The kids seem to have no problem making friends in the clubs. I'm sure the kids will make out just fine.
There are four of us sharing a ride to port.We have a car service taking us, both ways. We arrive on Sat, do the CP at Epcot, and then head out to port, first thing Sunday morning!! I would not worry too much about the DCL transfers from the Poly. It is great having your luggage picked up in the room and the bus ride is fun. When we stayed at the Poly pre cruise in March we were on the ship by 1:00. When we got to the port the terminal was empty so there was no waiting around and we pretty much walked straight onto the ship.

We are flying in on Dec 6 and taking a town car to Cocoa Beach. We are spending the night at the Inn at Cocoa Beach. I didn't want to stay to close to the port in case the girls start asking questions. We are going to surprise them on Dec 4 and tell them we are going to Disney but leave out the part about doing our first DCL before we go to WDW. We thought we would tell them that my DH wants to go to Kennedy Space Center before we go to WDW to help explain why we are going to Cocoa Beach. We are doing MVMCP on Dec 14.

I will also have some extras just incase anyone like me joins very last minute. my only problem is that I do not have a fish extender! I am going to make one but it will be very simple. Does it matter if I do 1 gift for the trip or a few gifts over the course of the cruise? Can we do liquire? Lastly or atleast for today when will we receive the final list of rooms we are gifting to?
Thanks again and I am so happy I joined this group!!!
Working on both ships was truely a great pleasure and great but being a guest this time will be a blast! Dont get me wrong, I still love working for Disney and will be with them forever!

I sent you a pm yesterday with the list and that will be the final list. If you did not get it, respond here and I will have to leave you a list on the ship.

Lisa
Oh that's good to know. I was thinking it would still be crowded at 1pm. Hope I get there at that time since I'm taking the DCL motorcoach from Port Orleans. Can't wait to meet everyone and give out my FE gifts. I have to be sneaky :tiptoe: so I don't get caught though

Depends on who your TA is. There are some that have booked this cruise, with addtl stuff, for their clients. I know I booked with a TA, that is taking part in MF. But, not every TA does that.
Also....the actual registration has closed now. It closed a week or so ago. But, there are lots of things going on, both on land and on sea, that will be open to anyone, even if they didn't register first. It's just that there were some meets and events that you had to sign up for, rather than just show up.
Registration for MF got you a booklet giving you all the meets and events, a special lanyard with name tag, pins...that sort of thing.

We are just using a Christmas stocking this cruise, if you decide to do that just bring some string to tie it around the fish.
You can give one gift on any day or small gifts every day. We are giving 3 small gifts, one each day Mon, Tues and Wed.

Read on another thread about last minute cabin changes.
If anyone on the Fish Extender Exchange has cabin change please leave me a message either by phone or note by 2:30 on the Sunday and I will pass the information on.
My head is swimming with all the things left to do and now I need to have a root canal tomorrow:headache:. I should have pushed it off till I return but I have been having terrible headaches from a cracked tooth and I do not want to risk it getting worse while I am away.
On the bright side my return flight changed and now I get a couple of extra hours at the resort on the Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving to all you US people, no holiday for us here in Canada.

I hope your tooth feels better soon. Better to have it fixed now than deal with excruciating pain on the cruise. I read someone's trip report once about her newlywed DH having a horrible toothache the entire cruise and he was in agony.
Air Tran changed our flight going down and we had to reschedule to an earlier flight. I don't want to miss our Chef Mickey ADR! We are on the DDP and wouldn't be able to use a TS anywhere else at this point.
I'm hoping to get some packing started over the weekend. I've got the FE items packed, but that's it so far.
Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes.
I wish everyone else a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I was planning on leaving Friday after work, but the girls are now off school on Friday for a PD day so I think I will try and take Friday off and leave about 3:00 so I can avoid the drive to Buffalo in the dark.

Hi Lisa,
I am sorry that things didn't go as planned for you for your root canal. I hope it goes better for you next week, so that it won't bother you on the trip. It is about a 21 - 22 hour drive for us. We plan to drive around 11 hours each day --I know that's a lot with 4 kids, but we we did that in Aug and it worked pretty well for us. We plan to leave really early in the morning and then make little stops along the way. We hope to be in the Orlando area Fri nite and to go to Ak on Sat. If the weather seems icy/snowy next week--we plan to leave a day early to give ourselves an extra day.
I hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday had a great one:)

Jen, the port opens at 10:30 so you can get there at that time. It really only takes about 10-15 minutes to go through the ID/secruity check at the front entrance area, drop off your luggage, park and walk to the terminal. Usually my DH drops me and the boys off at the luggage area and by the time we walk to the front for a couple of pictures, he's right there. We just hang out and soak up the magic in the terminal, the boys will watch cartoons on the tv, take a picture or two with characters, get their wrist bands for the club/lab and look at the ship. We usually end up with boarding cards #3-#5 and try to get on as soon as possible, any time between 12:30 and 1:30. Last time we skipped the embarkation photo and went straight to deck 9. We had taken a family picture with Minnie in the terminal and knew we weren't going to buy the embarkation photo since we had a few from other cruises and the back drop is still the same. They asked us to go to Parrot Cay, but we wanted to eat at the BBB and Goofy's Galley. The boys saw an empty Mickey pool so we just grabbed a nearby table while they swam and got them burgers and chickens strips at Pluto's dog house. We had the pool area to ourselves for a good 20 minutes. We were thinking of doing the same thing this time, but we have friends coming along and I'm sure they'll want the photo and to look around as well.
Wonderful!!! Thanks so much!
Also, does anyone know what night the pirate party is?? I booked Palo reservations on the night we go to Castaway Cay and I am afraid that this will be the same night... My husband is excited to go to Palo but I dont want the kids to miss the pirate party. Our reservations are 7pm that night so i think we would miss out on the festivities if both are on the same night. If anyone has any info on that i would really appreciate it. Thanks so much, I dont know what i would do with out this board!!

Jen,
From looking at recent cruises, it should be:
Sunday- Port Canaveral/Embarkation-Golden Mickey's
Monday- Nassau- Toy Story
Tuesday- Castaway Cay-Ventriloquist & Pirate Night
Wednesday-Day at Sea- Disney Dreams
We too booked Palo dinner on CC night thinking it would be like our last 4 day cruise (this past Aug.) with Pirate Night on Nassau day. We are going to try and add our friends to our Palo ressies and switch the dinner to Monday. We'll be getting "dressed up" anyways that night and will take the kids to eat somewhere on deck 9 or room service before seeing the early Toy Story and going to Palo dinner afterwards. If we end up with not being able to change nights, we may still do Palo and ask to make sure we're out before the pirate party & fireworks. We've been to Palo dinner a few times and been there anywhere between 1 1/2 hours to almost 3 hours (big group of people). The Pirate Party dance party lasts for quite a while, with late diners streaming in after they are finished. I really don't want my friends to miss it though and I'm willing to skip Palo dinner altogether and just do brunch with them.
GEEZ it figures! We booked the "Romance Package" so we could book 105 days before the cruise (since we have never cruised with Disney) and secure a Palo reservation at 7pm that night (does dinner take all of 2 hours?).
What time does the party actually start and when do the do the show/fireworks happen?? Is it hard to change reservations at this point? I know there is nothing open online at this point but would they have any openings if we tried to change this as soon as we board the ship? What a bummer!! :confused3

The length of time dining really depends on how fast you want to eat and if you want appetizers, soups, etc. When we have eaten dinner there, we've had multiple appetizers, main courses, dessert, plus the sorbet they give you and the shot of lemoncello tasting stuff. I did see a couple come in that were seated next to us and only order entrees and dessert and leave with in an hour. We have always gone with other couples or grandparents so we've sat around taking our time chatting and sharing appetizers, etc. I think you could let your waiter know you wanted to be out by a certain time and he/she would try and make that happen. I think the pirate party doesn't start until around 9:45 and there's lots of music/dancing before the fireworks. If you have little ones, I'd suggest having them rest/nap in the afternoon because it took 3 cruises before my now ds7 saw them without falling asleep. It gets really packed near the Goofy stage and I've seen a lot of younger kids just get too tired/hot from all the dancing. The characters come out in a sort of story line that I don't want to ruin, so it is entertaining even though it is a bit long before the fireworks. I wouldn't miss the fireworks at sea for the world and they choke me up and give me goosebumps every time they begin.
They do keep some Palo reservations available for embarkation day. I'm not sure how many, but we are always there early and have managed to get them or have people added after boarding around 2PM. They also have a wait list. I think we'll try and switch it to Monday and if we can't we'll just try and get out before the pirate party starts.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested in sponsoring a Christmas tree for US soldiers serving overseas, but I just watched a news segment on operationchirstmastree dot com (spaced so it's not **'d on here) about a service that will send a decorated small atrificial tree to Iraq, etc. for $25. They will accept donations of any kind. It says a 11/28 deadline, but they extended it until Monday due to the shortfall. Like a lot of non- profits this year, they are in immediate need of donations from a $11,000 short fall. This news piece really got to me with thinking about everyone serving our country, away from their families at Christmas while I'm here with my family getting ready for our vacation.
Speaking of which, I'm hoping to get some packing done later. This time next week, we'll either be at MK or Epcot! I sure hope the next 6 days go quickly!

Thanks I'm sure it will be now that I've opted to have anethesia. At first I was just going to have my foot numbed but I think ppl moving around and noises of whatever instrument is going to shave down my bone would un-nerve me. yeah i think that getting anethsia is a good choice. I have to say that its usually the noise that bothers me the mosst with things. like when you have dental work... i can't feel it. but the noise will flip me out. so i have to say i think i would make the say choice as you.

Hi All,
Can you believe it, in less than we week we will be on the High Seas enjoying Disney, the water, the Wonder and the friendships we have or will foster! I hope to meet many of you and do just that. Anyways I do have a few questions that I am hoping anyone can answer. Here they are:
1. Have any of you done the Bon Voyage Package which includes Champaigne and strawberries and other stuff? If so, how was it, what do you get and is it worth it?
2. Will they have any special events to partake in such as build your own gingerbread house (for adults) or anything like that? Maybe even a cooking class?
Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. Cant wait to meet you!

Hi Pluto1979,
I can't wait for this cruise either. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!!!!! Last year when we were on a 4 nite cruise in Dec., they had build your own gingerbread houses during the day at sea. My kids did that, but I am sure it would be for adults too. They really enjoyed that. I am hoping that they will have it on this cruise too.

Our first cruise we were sailing with my parents and sister/spouse and we ordered the Bon Voyage strawberries, etc. with champagne. If I remember correctly, there were little petit fours as well. I will say it was nice but we were so full from the buffet we hardly ate any of the food. The champagne was also nice but they didn't provide glasses and we had to go to our rooms for the bathroom glass cups. Looking back we could have probably called room service and asked but it was our 1st cruise and we were just taking it all in.
I will say that I have ordered and did order for this trip champagne from Shirley at the Perfect Gift and she's cheaper than doing it through DCL. Shirley said she'd add glasses in too. I'm sure they are plastic, but at least we will have them.
I can't help you with the rasul. I've read lots of nice things about it and it seems to be a fun experience.

I'm the same way about surgery and anesthesia. I don't want to know what's going on if someone's cutting something on me. I'm ok with the dentist, but I couldn't stand the smell of my tooth when I had to get a root canal/crown and they grinded it down. I was gagging from it.
I ordered magnet paper from decalpaper. com and was pretty happy with it. I did a bunch of about 3 X 5 magnets for the boys to decorate the doors each day. Some are bon voyage/embarkation ones, some Christmas ones and some pirate/Castaway Club ones. I had about 6 made from " Disigners" over the last several months on here. I made a bunch for our friends who will have 2 rooms on midship deck 2 so their kids can decorate their doors each day too. I'm starting to get worried though because I ordered her an FE a month ago from someone I bought ours off of last year and it's not here yet. My friend hasn't joined on here and isn't doing our FE exchange, but I wanted them to have one so I can drop off a couple of small things for her kids each day. I didn't want their kids to see ours and wonder why they didn't have one. I emailed the lady that's making it but haven't heard back. I certainly won't be paying that paypal order if it's not here by Thursday.
Our boys are off of school today for the 1st day of hunting, which we do not partake in so I am hoping to get their packing totally done. Looks as if we'll be getting some nice weather!

I don't have any magnets made yet. Maybe tomorrow I'll get some done. I'm so excited for the cruise and to meet everyone I couldn't sleep last night. oh that is too funny about the girls!
well i've been trying to get ready on our side too. I've pulled everything for my daughter. But of course I haven't gotten my stuff ready. I need to figure out what suitcase(s) we will need. My magnetic paper FINALLY came yesterday. So I printed off one as a test. now i need to figure out when i can get some time to print off some more. Why does it seem like everything is all crazy at once. With getting ready for the trip, work has gotten nuts, and i've been running around to the doctors on top of it. I will be so happy once i get on that plane and can jsut chill!!!

The four of us totally finished packing last night which is a record for us. We are usually last minute packers but with our schedules this week it was the only time we really had to do it.
If I had a $1 for every time my me, dh and my friend has told me they are so ready for vacation the last couple of weeks it would probably pay for our trip!
3 more sleeps for us and we'll be in Orlando!
the2princessesmom--let us know how the reveal goes. When we surprised our sons I was nearly bawling and I was so excited my hands were shaking! The luggage porter looked at me like I was crazy so I had to quickly tell him we had just surprised the boys there with the cruise documents and they had no idea they were crusing until then.
Memobrien, good luck with the magnets. I screwed up on a good 5 pages before I finally figured out how to get a few images to a page and decent pixels on some of the clip art I downloaded.
I better get back to work. I'm trying to get everything done that needs to get done and it seems never ending!

Anyways, just wanted to know when we get the final list of those part of the FE participation will be sent to us? Thanks for letting me know! Also I am not part of any group for the mouse cruise thing. But where can I meet you all, I am not sure who all of you are and would love to meet during the cruise to put a face to the names. Let me know how I would do this.

Anyone have any idea when the DCL bus normally leaves Old Key West resort
This is our first cruise!! and we decided to fly in on Saturday (we live in Ohio, and Ohio in December could mean flight delays to snow and ice and we didn't want to chance it!!).
So anyone know the drill? I heard that we may have to send luggage the night before? Is this true?
We have a 7:00 Dinner at Palos Sunday night - should I pack our dining clothes in my carry-on - I heard that there might be delays in getting luggage to your rooms...
I am so excited and turning in circles here just like everyone else. I just don't know what to expect and the uncertainty is killing me!!

Ok only big Disney fans can appreciate my delemia… So We land in Orlando on Friday at 11:30. I originally planned for us to go to the Magic Kingdom on Friday(with Hoop De Doo that night)and then Saturday in Epcot(we have breakfast ressies in Norway). So then we’re in the car and Georgia say to me – Mom, remember when we were there and they were building a new playhouse Disney show. I want to see that, please, can we go see that.
So now I’m like…hmmm no I try to fit this in or not. So I’m thinking that maybe I should just cancel Hoop Dee Doo – I think she would like it but I think she would rather more park time anyway. And then I could scrap magic kingdom on Friday and just go to the Studios instead. We haven’t seen the new playhouse Disney show or Toy Story Mania. OR do I upgrade my tickets to be park hoppers and on Saturday split the day with epcot and studios…. I’m so torn!

I seem to remember stoping at Old Key West last March and we were there around 11:45. When you check in ask about luggage and they will give you a card with the luggage pick up time, it will be around 8:00 on Sunday. You should have your luggage by about 4:00 but if you are concerned take your dinner clothes.

As soon as you get to the park...go get a fast pass for Toy Story....hopefully you will get there before they run out. We were just at HS the weekend before Thanksgiving and they ran out of fast passes by noon and there was a 100 minute wait to ride!! But the ride is VERY cool!! You should start doing arm exercises now if you are very competitive. :yay:

I agree about Toy Story Mania. We've been to WDW a few times since it opened and the lines have always been a good 80 minutes plus through out the day. We always go to DHS at rope drop and head straight to TSM. We usually wait about 10 minutes as we go through the waiting area. The fast pass lines alone in the morning are a good 20-30 minutes to just get a FP. Every single day we have been to DHS, the FP's are gone by 11:30-12:00. You can always hope to win dream fast passes!
We get into MCO about 5:15 Friday, get our rental at Alamo, will check into AKV and go to Chef Mickey's for a 7:55 dinner. We are going to try and renew our AP's that night if we have time. Saturday we are still trying to decide if we are going to do Epcot all day or try MK in the morning. My husband really wants to do MK but I'm so afraid of the crowds from the parade taping. I think they open MK at 7 for the tapings and all the tickets are long gone. They said they'd take stand by's if there are spaces available. I just can't wait to feel the heat again--- 70 degrees is going to be HOT!

We arrive on Sat, around 1pm..heading to OKW. Then over to DTD to have some lunch and get my AP renewed! Then a meet at OKW, then off to Epcot for dinner at Tutu and the CP late show. Back to OKW and hit the hay. We are being picked up around 8:30 for the trip to port.
Man...I can't wait to just sit and bask in the sun. As long as it's 70 or above, I'll be happy!!

Yeah I think I will canel Hoop De Doo... Just toomuch.
Well it sounds like if we go on Friday to DHS we might not be able to do TSM as we wouldn't get to the park until later in the day. We can't go at rope drop on Saturday because we are going to be in Norway. So again we wouldn't get there until closer to noon. Do you think it's worth even trying it and paying the extra to get the hopper pass.
Maybe I should jssut stick with the original plan and do MK on Friday and Epcot on Saturday. We will be staying at the Poly, so it will be easy to get to bothof them too.
i'm sooo with you about the warmth! I can't wait!!!

In terms of ease of travel, I'd personally lean toward upgrading to hoppers, and jump on the boat to DHS after breakfast on Saturday, that way you stand a better chance of getting your fast passes for TSM. Then you can check out your playhouse show and anything else you wanted to see, and come back to Epcot.

Just think, is'nt so good thing to have a delema when it is just about what to see or do in Disney!? We are all very lucky to be able to visit Disney and worry about what to do! Anyways, this would be my advice, if you can, go to DHS before your breakfast time in Norway. Get your FP make sure it gives you enough time to leave, have breakfast and get back to DHS. If the time ou get is a little off then ask the CM to change it for a later time, they usually will do this for you. Tell them why you need a different time. Then go back to Epcot and have breakfast! Play house Disney of course is fun to do. The park should be less in attendance due to the taping in MK.
By the way, I guess I should say that my name is Adam and I work for the Walt Disney World Resort. I have been with the company for over 10 years and have loved every minute of it. I am so looking forward to just be a guest of the cruise on Sunday and really looking forward to meeting all of you. Since I really have not had time to do a FE is it tacky to bring a Christmas Stocking? What do you think?

Hi Adam! NIce to meet you. I think a Christmas stocking would be great and very festive!
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunatly I don't think we would have time before our breakfast ressie. It is at 8:50. Hmm... I didn't think about the low attendence because of the taping. I thinkpart of my issue is if it is worth spending the money. It's a good bit extra for the upgrade to the hopper.

With such a short time in the parks I would not try and do it all, and I would not spend the money on upgrading to park hopper. Can you maybe try and get a last minute reservation at 1900 Park Fare to get a princess meal , cancel the Epcot breakfast and do HS. Your daughter will get lots of chances to see the Princess' on the ship. What we did this past March was did not spend time waiting for the characters in the park as we knew we would have lots of time with them on the ship.

Adam, we did the pirate museum in December 2006 and my boys liked it. I don't feel the need to go back, but it was a nice thing to do once. There's a lot of interesting pirate history to read about and lots of scenes to walk through. I remember it being about 10-15 minutes away from the port. I'm not sure how much we paid, but it wasn't horrible pricing. My DH and DS went back on the ship so DSthen5 could make cookies at the kid's club and my parents and DSthen 9 went to Atlantis via a crazy taxi. We got green sparkly wrist bands at the pirate museum to show we paid and later when we went to Atlantis, my dad and ds now 11 got waved in after a guard saw their green wrist bands. At the time they didn't know it was a closed off area and thought they were getting a once over from the guard. My mom and I played and lost at the slots rather quickly (like 5 minutes and 3 pulls to lose my limit of $20) and when we met up I told my dad that area actually had a charge to enter.

Maura, I also would not get the hoppers. It's a lot more $ to add for the day and you'll have more than enough stuff to do in one park. If your heart is set on TSM and Playhouse Disney, I'd head to DHS for rope drop. You may even get a late lunch ADR at Hollywood and Vine if your daughter likes the Little Einsteins. You can always try for the ADR at 1900 Park Fare like someone previously mentioned so your daughter can see Cinderella. Like Lisa said, there will be plenty of opportunities on board the Wonder to see them too. My favorite tip to see any missed characters is to go to the Till We Meet Again event the last night. A good amount of characters come out to do last minute pictures and autographs. We've always managed to see about 15-20 during the 5-10 minutes they are available. I have seen long lines for the princesses so you will want to check you navigator or call the Pal # onboard (it will be on the navigator) to check when/where they will be. You can always leave an autograph book at guest services too and request autographs. One cruise we did that and they filled the entire 25 pages.

Thanks Hanover, Do you remember where it is located or the name of the place? We plan on walking to it since we walked to Atlantis before. I am sure it is easier than that. How long where you there for? Any other tips or advice on what to see? Usually we just get off the boat for about 1hr since we really do not like the area. However the museum might be fun to do. Let me know and thanks for the help!

Here is the link to the museum:
http://www.pirates-of-nassau.com/
It has the location on it with a little map to kind of give you an idea of how close it is to get there.
It looks like it's $12 for an adult admission. I know we walked there one way and went back to the port another way via the straw market. We stopped at a couple places along the way like Del Sol and some other touristy shops. The day we were there they had some roads closed to traffic because of a dignitaries funeral and a lot of news media around. We were the only ones in the museum for quite a while and then a couple more families from our cruise came in. I think we were there maybe an hour and looked in the gift shop for a short time before heading out.

Did you guys see this thread

Looks like we may have to board from deck 1 and not through the atrium. I am just glad no one was hurt and as long as we are safe, we'll be happy to be onboard from whatever entrance we go through.
Hi All, As some of you know I am a WDW Cast Member and acutally worked on the madan voyage of both ships. Being a guest is something that is so new to me and I have so many questions.
However, with the collapse of the gangway the other week, it looks like things should be back to normal for our cruise this Sunday. What they told CMs was that the moring lines actually snapped during the high winds and that noone was on the ramp. So hopefully everything will be just fine! I can''t wait much longer and just want to be on that ship! And i cant wait to meet all of you!

I hope it is back to normal! This is my first cruise and I want the standard experience ;-) Of course, not in exchange for someone possibly getting hurt.
But I was also concerned about the embark being crowded. Hubby has little patience with crowds (which is why we go to WDW during off seasons !).
Side question - for our shore excursions to Atlantis, Atlantis Beach, and Disney's Castaway Cay -
how do you pack for the day? I.e. keep all your papers / ids from getting wet - or do you pack your swim suit, wear it underneath? Bring a water-proof carry back...what?
Never done this before!!!

On that thread it says someone was told by Disney that it would take 8 weeks to fix the gangways, but I hope they are wrong. Safety comes first though. I wonder how we'd enter from the 1st deck from the terminal. We had to board the Magic like that in Barcelona and they had a red carpet with plants on either side leading to it. They had DCL staff waiting inside welcoming us and sending us up the elevator to deck 9 where they were supposed to do welcome annoucements but when we got there, no one was there to greet us. I wonder if anyone on the current 3 day has written what they experienced boarding today.

If you don't like crowds then do not get to the port too early. Tons of people are in the building prior to boarding. They typically start boarding by 1pm, so if you get there around 1:30 or 2pm, the crowd should be gone and most people will be on the ship already. We will be at the port by 10am at the latest because we want to get on ASAP, try to change our dinner rotation, eat lunch and chill out.
Either way, you do not have to stand in line anymore. Thank goodness!!! They now give you boarding numbers and you can hang out anywhere (past security) and wait for your group number to be called.

I seem to remember stoping at Old Key West last March and we were there around 11:45. When you check in ask about luggage and they will give you a card with the luggage pick up time, it will be around 8:00 on Sunday. You should have your luggage by about 4:00 but if you are concerned take your dinner clothes.

Lisa,
Thanks for the info!!
Dawn - thanks for the great info too!
We are taking the Disney transport, and from what I've read here, it won't pick me up at OKW until 12:00 or so - and isn't it a 1.5 hour ride to PC? Guess we'll miss the crowd alright, except for everyone else on the bus ;-).
Do they stagger the busses from the hotels? I.e., they don't all arrive at the same time, do they? That would seem kind of silly to me.
THANKS.

I would wear bathing suit under shorts. I carry id and credit card/money in a water proof holder that I have around my neck, and then a small beach type bag for camera and towels.

It is about an hour to the port so the buses tend to spread out. You should be on the ship between 1:30-2:00 and the terminal will be pretty empty.

The girls did the scavenger hunt last night when they got home from school. I didn’t know two girls could scream so loud!!!!! :rotfl: I still can’t believe how excited they were. They were jumping up and down and running around the house with our puppy chasing them. Now they have them same silly smiles on their faces as I’ve had for the last week. Their poor teachers today I think they are going to disrupted the whole class. I can only imagine what surprising them with the cruise on Sunday is going to be like. I just can’t wait.
I have just a few things left to do today we leave at 7:00 tomorrow morning.

That is so exciting I hope you got lots of pictures and it will be a memory they cherish when they are older.
Are you flying from Ottawa?-Have a safe trip.
My oldest was most upset when I said goodbye to them last night, but I am sure once I am gone they will not miss me. I am driving to Buffalo after work and leave early tomorrow morning. No snow in the forecast for tonight so hopefully it will be a quick drive.

You all might want to pack some light rain gear. I just checked the forecast. They are predicting scattered showers every day next week in Nassau and "Few Shower" in Port Canaveral on Thursday. :umbrella:
Good news is that it's high 70s all week long!!!!:woohoo:

Oh great rain. I had thunderstorms for two whole weeks in Disney this summer and they lasted all day not like those passerby ones either :sad2:
Have a safe flight/drive trip to Port Canaveral everyone. Can't wait to meet up :woohoo:

Well I am back to the cold and snowy winter weather. I had a great time, but 4 days is way too short. It was great to meet so many of you, and to those that I did not meet, I hope you had a great time also.
Thank you for all the great FE gifts, I took them home to the girls and they enjoyed all the treasures.

Hi Everyone,
Stephanie (Steffy on the DIS) and I were like two little kids whenever we came back to our cabin and would see more gifts. We did learn a few lessons for next year. We already have ideas for our stateroom door designs too.
Thank you to everyone. The gifts were great. I think we managed to meet Hanover but since we were the 'Spa Twins' we did not meet anyone else. :lmao: Our mantra changed from "deck chair, cabana boy, fru fru drinks" to how many times can we go to the rainforest. :rotfl: but still take advantage of the drink of the day.
I will be posting a TR soon. We already booked for next year. This was the best trip ever.

I made the FE in one evening. It was such fun. Most of the material I got from Joannes but the one with the mickeys for Stephanie I got on Ebay. I tried to keep to 8 inches wide and then for the length, I just went with what I thought would work. You can tell I did it fast cause the pockets are not quite even but since I made it myself, that really does not matter to me. It mattered that we liked it and the people in nearby staterooms liked it too. The ribbon to hang was long enough to wrap it around the actual fish twice. It was like a beacon when we could come back to our stateroom cause you could see it way down the hallway!!!
Stephanie and I spent one Sunday working on our stateroom door decorations. That was an experience. We already have ideas for this coming Decembers Mouse Fest Cruise.
