Hi ... Couldn't find a thread for this cruise, so I thought I would start one. If there is already one out there, please let me know.

Anyone else booked? It is me and my daughter (19 at time of travel) going. October 12, is the Canadian Thanksgiving! I wonder if there will be any Turkey!

**********************************************

Hi again... As I won't be joining you fine folks.... Here is a link (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=28103382&postcount=531) to Shel's temporary info post. She will be updating the post there and will transfer it to the first page when you reach the magic post/page number. Take care all. It was a pleasure chatting with you all!

Hi MJGirl! :wave2:

We booked yesterday as soon as the 2009 dates opened up! I'm so excited as I think this will be a very fun cruise!!!

It will be:
(ages at time of travel)

Me - 36
DH - 40
DS - 13
DD - 11
DS - 11
DS - 9
DD - 4

* I also have a DD who will be 19 (turning 19 this very week, actually), but she more than likely will not be cruising with us as she will be away at college.

I'm so glad you started this thread! Hopefully there will be a few more DISers joining us! ;)

 Welcome aboard

I'm hoping this will be a blast ... It will be my third cruise, but first one out of Port Canaveral. I've been to the Med and am doing the Repo this summer. Oh no ... I think I'm hooked. I see this will be your third cruise as well. I see you just got off the magic! Looking forward to chatting with you! Hope to meet other DISers soon!!!

Anyone else out there???

My DW, DGD and myself just returned from our first cruise ever on the Magic this past October. We had great weather and great seas. We actually booked our next cruise while on board. But, when we saw the new destinations we knew we had to change to this one going to St. Croix. We are really looking forward to this next cruise.

Let me introduce myself, my name is David, DW is Donna and DGD(granddaughter), is our little princess Emily. Emily will be 10 yrs old at the time of this cruise. We had a great time on our last cruise. We are late comers to the cruising scene. But we are hooked big time now.:cool1: We live in Florida so we go to Disney World ever chance we get.:thumbsup2 So the Disney Cruise was the natural next step.

Well better get back to work. Nice meeting you two. I know soon enough we will have plenty joining our group. Talk to you soon.

Hi David (and Donna and Emily) ... Welcome aboard... I too am looking forward to St. Croix ... can't wait! I am hooked as well to both DCL and WDW. I just got back last on Monday from my first MVMCP. It was my first trip in Winter. I left behind a foot of snow to beautiful 85 degrees. It was great weather, hot but no humidity. I usually travel in late August so you can imagine how humid things were.

By the way, my name is Mary Jane and my daughter is Kirstyn. Take care!

Hi davidls - it's great to meet ya! I'm glad there will be at least 3 of us on board! :)

I keep meaning to pop over here and chat with you all, but things have been so hectic and crazy here while we've been getting ready for Christmas! I've been trying to devote some time to preparing for our upcoming Disney World trip next month (only 27 days to go - woohoo!) as well as our Western Cruise in November (finally made a few plans for that - got the Hyatt booked for the night before and will be booking the night after at Animal Kingdom Lodge)! I can't wait until I can start making some decisions regarding THIS cruise! I'm really looking forward to St. Croix!!!

I do hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas! :santa: We'll be spending it at home this year which is the most relaxing way to do it --- but we've decided to go ahead and make the 6-hr drive up to Iowa for New Year's Day to celebrate the season with my Grandma, Aunt & Uncle, and my cousins & their families. Everyone is really looking forward to that, although my kids really do soooo much better on a plane than they do on these road trips. ;)

Hi Mommyto5/6, nice to meet you too.wave: Hey, with just the three of us and our families going the lines won't be long for anything, huh?!?! :rotfl2: :lmao:
I'll bet you and your family are excited about your trip to WDW, and you are going on a cruise next November??? WOW, that is great.:thumbsup2 We live here in Florida, in the Tampa Bay area. So, we go over to WDW as often as we can.:earsboy: :mickeyjum There is always someone's birthday, anniversary or some kind of special day to celebrate at WDW. Then there are the days we need to just get away from it all and lose ourselves in the Disney Magic. :smickey: We took our first cruise this past October. It was great!!!! We booked another cruise while on board. When this one for St. Croix came out we knew had to take this one. We are really looking forward to going.
Well, it's been great meeting and talking to you mommyto5/6.:thumbsup2 Talk to you soon.

Hello lenzs4 and winotracy ... welcome aboard ... I see we are up to 5 DISers on board ... I"m sure that number will increase by the time the cruise comes up. Hey Tracey ... Aren't you on the EB repo as well? We will have to meet up and say Hello! I am so looking forward to that cruise!

So I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know we did. I have to go back to work tomorrow, as I used up all my vacation this year what with my Med trip and my various WDW trip. Next year I've already allocated 19 for the Repo. That leaves 6 days left to play with. Let me see ... should I save them for Christmas next year, or go to WDW again... Tough decision to make.

Anyhow ... Happy New Year everyone! Take care... Talk to ya soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome. This thread will have more actvity as the cruise gets closer.

This is my first cruise I have booked so far out. My DH and I are the only ones booked for this cruise with us as of right now. We hope other of my family members and friends will join us. It would be nice if the cruise line would offer incentives if you get others to join you when you cruise. Like maybe obc's, excursions, free drinks, spa treatments, etc.

Bump ... Any other 10/10/09 cruisers out there?

Hope everyone already on board are doing well and enjoying the start of 2008. For us up North, it came in with a bang (or should I say blizzard) but then became spring-like with temperatures in the 50s. What is going on with this weather?

nanatink
01-14-2008, 03:07 PM
They are calling for a frozen mixture here in North Ga. followed by snow showers, starting on Wed/Thur. We will wait and see. At least now when it snows it melts just about the same day. Use to when we first moved here we got at least one 8 inch of snow and several other snows. When it got cold it stayed cold. This was in the late 70's.

I do not like snow. I use to live in mid-western Ohio and then moved to northern PA. and that is where I learned to dislike snow. It snowed every day from before Thanksgiving to Easter and there was still snow on the ground in May. The reason I say Thanksgiving is that was when we moved here in a blizzard. WE did not know where we were going and the road signs were covered with snow. :scared1: I was glad when we moved back south. :yay:

As NanaTink said ... Welcome Aboard ... I can't wait ... This will be my 3rd Disney Cruise. My 1st one was in the Med, and my 2nd one is the EB repo. So theoretically, this will be my first regular 7 day cruise. It is just my DD and I on this cruise, but my mom is thinking about joining us. She will be 79 at the time of the cruise. I'm wondering if it is easier to add her now and take her off later if she changes her mind, or add her later. She is afraid to commit to the cruise, as she has had some health issues this year, and fears that if she books the cruise, she will jinx things with her health.

We just sailed September 29, 2007 and made the most of every moment in case we never sailed again. Over the weekend, DH and I began discussing vacation plans for 2009 and I was thinking Disney World - he was thinking Disney Cruise. Well, we just paid the deposit and we're sailing with you - hope you don't mind the company! It's me (Jac), DH, DS (will be 15 when we sail) and DD (will turn 6 during the cruise). I can't believe I am posting this. Pinch me!

Thanks for the link jdblair to your recent packing adventure. I have to keep that one tip in mind- only take half of the clothes. :thumbsup2 My last trip I tried to hard not to overpack. I packed all the bags 3 weeks ahead and the last day before our trip to wdw I panicked and added all these clothes to the bag. Well 2 bags were over limit and 70% of the clothes were not worn. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I haven't stayed at AKV yet as a dvc member but we stayed at the lodge in Dec. 06 and loved it. :cloud9: My first stay as a dvc member was this last Dec. 07 and we stayed at BWV. After that stay I don't know if I can also go back and ever stay in a regular hotel room again and being able to walk to epcot or take a boat to go to mgm was great. :worship:

My first trip planned to stay in AKV will be this October. :cool1:

We were at AKV in Dec. 07 and have booked a 1BR for Sept 08 after our cruise and a Studio in Dec 08. I plan on buying an Annual Pass before the Sept trip. I have both 08 trips booked at AKV, but will try at the 6 month mark to book into somewhere else! I would like to try BWV, WLV or BCV.

In 2009 we might try May. It seems worth it when your accommodations are paid for, and passes are covered. Southwest flies there so reasonably and food will be okay if I stop on the way at a grocery store. It is so nice just having to pay for two people!

llmurphy17
01-19-2008, 01:10 AM
If you are unable to get BCV, BWV, or WWL try SSR. Since SSR is so big it is easier to get a reservation there. But being able to walk to epcot from BCV and BWV is soooooo nice. :cloud9:

We also got AP for the first time and purchased the DDE to help cover some of the costs that our DDP will not cover etc. appetizers, drinks. The cost just decreased to $60 for AP holders. ;)

I just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone and to our new members. I haven't been on in awhile. Been very, very, very busy. I am an estimator at a printing company. There were two of us doing the work, now there is just me.:confused3 I'm getting all of the overtime I want and more. But, they are trying to kill me!!!! Don't get me too wrong, the OT sure helps out paying for our cruise. :cool1: :thumbsup2 They could just give me a raise.......NOT.......Oh well I tried.:lmao:
Even though our cruise is still a million, zillion, gazillion days off......we are still excited!! Well really we only have........ wait a minute I'll check...............

Oh well, we are still excited!!!
How's everyones weather where you live. I live here in Florida, just outside of Tampa, and I have to tell ya, it's been chilly down here. No snow or anything like that, just bone chilling cool. I mean cold. :lmao: :rotfl: I've been seeing some of the temps for you guys up north. I'm too much of a southern boy, don't think I could do those kind of cold temps. Hi everyone (including Tracey and Bill),

We've just booked this cruise. We had to cancel our repo cruise due to some family issues with my mother so now have this one to look forward to. There are just the two of us -- me and Jim.

We've actually cruised with winotracey before and just saw them at WDW in December.

I would love to do the podcast cruise but Jim's being more practical in terms of the $$$. (He doesn't like the fact that the 4 day is almost as much as a 7 day.) Haven't convinced him yet so we'll see -- personally I think it would be a blast and it's not like he doesn't listen to the podcasts -- he's right up to date while I'm behind a bit!!

Hi all!

I guess I should mention that this will be our 4th Disney cruise (5th if I can talk Jim into the podcast cruise!).

I will be 43 at the time of the cruise and Jim will be 59 at the time of the cruise. I have one son (age 21) and Jim has 3 (24, 21, 18) but none will be cruising with us.

Would love to meet a fellow Cdn MJ. Whereabouts are you from? We live in Thornhill but are soon moving into the city (do I have to admit that!!) but I work in Pickering.

Fiona

Yes!! Keep working on him!!

Hi Fiona ... I am from Waterloo. I travel to Oakville alot as that is where my mom lives. I'm 47 know but will be the dreaded 49 at time of cruise. I am not looking forward to my next "ty" birthday. I thought 40 was scary, but 50 is terrifying :scared1:

We sometimes head out to Yorkville, so maybe we could arrange a meet some weekend. Would be nice to be acquainted before the cruise. My daughter will be travelling with me. She will be 19 at cruise time.

That is some picture you took MJGirl. I don't think I would survive in those kind of conditions. I don't know how you guys do it.:worship: When it dips down around 70 I go rummaging thru my things looking for my long johns. You know the ones with the trap door in the back. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: We have been pretty lucky lately. For example today it was around 80. :cool2: Of course I was stuck inside at work all day. Couldn't enjoy the nice day. We do have our COLD days down here too. I can remember it was back about 2 or 3 weeks ago it got down to 45 at night.:rolleyes1 I thought I was freezing!!!!
I'm of course having some fun with ya'll. I was born in Ohio, but moved down here at the first sign of snow. (Not really, but close.) I hated the cold, couldn't get enough clothes on to keep me warm. We love it down here. And, of course with Disney World just about 1 1/2 hrs drive away, this is the life!!!!We usually get annual passes, except for the years we are taking a cruise. Then we save like crazy for the cruise. But I have to tell ya we do have to go over to Disney ever now and then to get our Disney fix. :thumbsup2 :cool1: If'n I can figure out how to put a picture on here I'll take a couple of photos for your enjoyment. (If you can help a poor Floridian to place a photo or two on here would be greatly appreciated.):woohoo:

Hey David .. Now that is an image (long John's) that I will have difficulty getting out of my head :scared1:. :rotfl2:

If you want to post a photo, you have to sign up for a photo hosting website like photobucket. Once the photo is online ... click on the picture above (insert image) button. In the popup .. add the url to your photo you saved on photobucket. Hope this helps!

Hello everybody. We have switched from the 11/7 date to this one. Tracy talked us into it  DD is excited because she will be celebrating her birthday onboard.

Hello Grayfal, I'm glad we will finally be able to meet! I missed a great time on the Med repo. :sad2:

We are four: me, DH, DD16 turning 17 and DD14

We've never been to the eastern Caribbean, and we're looking forward to it, 600+ days from now.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!

I just put our deposit down for this cruise for my hubby & myself. It will be our first long vacation by ourselves in years....and I am really looking forward to it. This will be my 5th, and my hubby's 3rd Disney cruise. We've taken the kids twice but they're older now and into doing their own thing. I was lucky enough to cruise last month with my best friend & her two kids. We had so much fun that we are doing it the same time next year!
Looking forward to counting down til 10/10/2009 with all of you!

Hey MJGirl this photo is for your enjoyment. This is what I HAVE to wake up to almost each and every morning. Rough ain't it!!! This is the back of our little homestead. Thanks for the help in putting a photo on here. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I'm not very computer smart.:confused3 (Sometimes I have to get my granddaughter to show me how to turn this blame thing on!!!!):rotfl2: :rotfl::lmao: She is 8 yrs old now and will be 10 when we cruise next year. She is all excited about going again. Heck, so am I!!!:cool1: :cool1: Now how do I reduce this thing down to a more manageable size??? Any ideas.

Also, wanted to welcome all our new members coming along on our Magical Cruise!! Our little group is growing with leaps and bounds.

We are going over to WDW in April. Gots to get our Disney fix for the spring. Checking out the Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT. We go to this every year, haven't missed one in, I can't remember!!! OH GRANDDAUGHTER, when was the last time we missed a Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT? She told me to be quiet, she is trying to watch the Mickey Mouse show on the Disney channel. I'll have to get back to ya'll on how long it's been. (Psssssst, move in a little closer.................. don't want granddaughter to hear................. I know how to turn on the computer and we have never missed a Flower and Garden Festival, I just like to joke around with her. DW says I'm a big teaser and pest. I got that honestly from my Dad. He was the same way.

Well again welcome to all new members to our group. We are going to have a great time on our cruise. Talk to ya'll again soon.:woohoo:

Ok David ... add salt to the wound ... they are calling for more snow here on the weekend. I guesstimate our snowbanks are over 4 feet by now. I know the snow on the deck is about 1 1/2 feet deep. My poor bichon, Budde. He hates the snow, especially when it is deeper than he is tall!

Regarding the sizing of the photo, I confess, I ask my 17 year old how to do it! She uses photoshop to resize the photo before I upload it. She showed me how once, but I still can't figure it out.

By the way, You have a lovely home. Looks like a place I could retire to!!! Only 15 years (I hope) to go for me, at least thats my plan. I would love to spend 7 months down in Florida working part time at Disney, then come back here for the mandatory 5 months to keep my OHIP (provincial hospitalization insursance) in tact. I will become a true snowbird. November to June in Florida, July to October in Canada. That would be the life!

She showed me how once, but I still can't figure it out.You can do it in Paint, click help, choose the index tab, and type in resize and it will guide you to the help topic. In Photoshop, click the image tab and choose resize. Then you can enter the dimensions in either pixels or inches.

Also, thanks to DenverVal on the resizing of the photo's. I'll have to give it a try the next photo I post. I don't have photoshop, but I do have Paint. (Atleast I think I do.....have to check that out too.) Maybe I could get the boss, (granddaughter), to help me. She loves to help. I'll give that a try.

Hi Everyone! We just booked this cruise today. Really excited about going to St. Croix for the first time. My husband, Sam, and I are recently retired. This will be our 6th or 7th DCL cruise -- hard to keep track. We are also DVC members at OKW, VB & HH. It's nice to meet all of you.

Thanks for the welcome! I notice from my profile that it looks as tho this the first time I have posted on the DIS boards. Actually I've been posting here since at least 2000. My computer died a while ago, and I had to re-register after I bought a new one -- not sure why my prior posts don't show. We live in Indian Land, SC, which sounds like we're out in the middle of nowhere, but we're actually about 10 minutes south of Charlotte, NC.

We just went on our first DCL cruise (the 2/9 - 2/16/08 Western Caribbean cruise) and guess what??!! We enjoyed it so much that we decided to re-book onboard. Surprise surprise! So we'll be sailing on the 10/10/2009 Eastern Caribbean cruise with all of you!

At the time of cruising, DS#1 will be 14, DS#2 will be 12, and DD will be 8. I won't tell you exactly how old DW and I will be, other than somewhere in our mid 40's! ;)

We're really looking forward to it and have already begun planning!! Crazy, isn't it??

Like some of you, we too are DVC members and own at VB and SSR. We're taking the kids down to WDW this upcoming Christmas season. I know, the crowds will be crazy, but everyone has to experience WDW at least ONCE during the holidays, right?! In July 2009 we'll be heading to Vero Beach for a week in the sun and surf, and then another week at WDW, but offsite. :sad1: Hopefully that will be enough Disney to hold us until the cruise, but I bet not!

Hope to get to know you all online over the next 20 months or so...

:welcome: Welcome aboard Mike ... Glad you could join us!

I'm going to be at WDW Dec 10-16. Don't know if I can handle the Dec. 25 crowds. I'm booked at AKV, but hope to change to another resort at the 7 month mark!

TinksDH

Thanks for the welcome MJGirl!

We're actually going to be at WDW from 12/18 - 12/23, so we'll miss the Christmas day rush, but still be there for the season. We're currently booked at SSR, but may change to a non home resort as well, once the booking window opens up. I really like the way VWL looks during Christmas season!

We started our cruise off by staying 4 nights at the AKV - those rooms are wonderful, particularly with all the new LCD TVs and all! The kids loved it! We had a top floor savannah view, and let me tell you, that property is just beautiful. Also, I am a major photography enthusiast, and there was no end of great shots to take (DW keeps reminding me that I need to get my pictures from this last trip up on Flickr!). The construction is in full swing on the new buildings. It's going to be very nice when it's done - but what DVC property is NOT nice??!!

MJGirl

Mike ... We just joined DVC last October. I stayed at AKV in December for a weekend and am booked at BWV for a few nights after the Repo Cruise, then it is back at AKV in Dec. Being half Irish and half Scottish, we always went in late August to save money. I always stayed at All Stars or Pop Century. It is nice not having to worry about the room cost. This year, I'm actually going to get a AP this year, what with all the visits.

When I signed up for DVC, I got double bonus points which I used to book the backstage magic tour with Adventures by Disney. I'm certainly getting my Disney fix this year!!!

Thought I would jump in here. I am TinksDH's DW (Lisa). I cannot wait for this next cruise! I am trying to focus on the trips we are planning before the cruise to make the time go faster. As Mike already told you we are planning a Christmastime trip to WDW and we are planning a WDW/Vero beach trip in the summer of '09.

Looks like we have quite a bit of DIS tween and teen kids on this cruise, maybe we should start a thread for them to get to know one another.

Looking forward to hanging out with you all over the next 20 months!:cool1:

There are 3 of us me, DH, and DD 10. My daughter can't wait to see Val and Tracy again. I think this is the first cruise she has known about from the start. For both the Panama cruise and the Transatalantic cruises we didn't tell her until a couple of months prior.

Hi David ... I was thinking about you as we were getting pummelled (sp?) by another foot of snow. We've broken records this winter. Between Friday night and Sunday morning, we had 37.5 cm or 14.8 inches of snow. So far this winter we have had 246 cm or just over 8 feet of snow. This is an all time high, beating out the previous record from 1923 -1924. Only 5 months until my next cruise. It better have stopped snowing before then!

Mary you are going on a cruise in August!!! :cool1: Lucky you. Is it a 7 day cruise? You know i wish Disney offered some longer cruises. Like a 10 or 14 day cruise. That would be GREAT!!!:dance3: Oh well maybe with the new ships they are having built they will offer some longer cruises.
Well I better get to work. Been nice tqalking to everyone. Oh hey, Did everyone make it thru the time change this week-end. I love when we have to do this time change thing. NOT!!! Mary, do you guys up there in Sunny, oooooppps I mean snowy Canada have to do this time change???

I can answer about the time change and yup we have to do that as well so in addition to losing an hour's sleep we also had to shovel for ever this weekend.

Mary - where abouts are you? We are just outside of Toronto and haven't quite broken the record yet - we have 10 cm still to go. Can not believe how much snow we've had this winter so far 197 cm (record is 207 cm from 1939). Last year we had 67 cm all winter I heard on the radio this morning which makes it even more depressing.

So can't wait for spring at this point although they are predicting yet more snow before the end of winter -- the guy on the radio this morning actually said to keep your shovels available til mid May -- the man is sick.

Thanks Lisa ... I booked this cruise on the day it was announced, before I even went on my first cruise. I figured if I hated cruising, I could cancel! Well I loved my first cruise, and decided to stay on. I'm glad that I booked when I did, as it sold out in less than 8 hours. It's all paid off now, so I'm just waiting for the 90 day mark!

I've never tried a Pineapple Mojitos, but I do love pineapples. I don't know if it has alcohol or not, but I can't drink right now due to medications I'm on. I hope they serve a virgin version!

OK David ... I will concede that you folks take the rain award. I have been to Disney many times in late August (start of cheap season, my Irish heritage, gotta save that penny) and have been rained on plenty. I find Florida rainstorms crazy. It downpours like there is no tomorrow and a half hour later it is a beautiful sunny day!!!

So in short I :worship: to you Floridians when it comes to rain and a double :worship: :worship: when it comes to sunshine!!!

Easter here was quiet. We did the big family thing yesterday, and my daughter and I had a quiet day today. I missed the days of the Easter hunt. She is too old now and can't risk the dog finding them. Yes, we did have chocolate and it was good!!!

davidls

Yes Mary we do have the rains down here. One of our sayings goes like this, if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes and it will change. The summer months are our rainy season down here. So when we get some rain during the winter or spring we do our:worship: :worship: to the rain clouds thanking them for the wet stuff!!
Glad to hear you had a good Easter. You should do what I do........... that is hide some of those scrumptious chocolate eggs all over the house for yourself and then go hunting for them. (Put them up too high for your dog to get, and don't tell your daughter where they are. That way there are more eggs for you!!!!):lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: If you need any other tips like that just let me know, I'm full of'em!!!:rotfl:

I absolutely anything pineapple! What's in a pineapple mojito? The name alone sounds delicious.

Jean

Hi Jean! The pineapple mojito is like a regular mojito with crushed pineapple. So it has mint leaves, lime, simple syrup, rum, club soda and of course pineapple! Very refreshing!

Cant believe how we're almost 1/4th of the way through 2007 already...our sail date will be here before we know it!

Paige-

Welcome to the group! And believe it or not, it's actually 2008! ;) This cruise will be here before you know it !! :rotfl:

We have a DS13, DS11 and DD6, so some overlap in ages there. My DW has suggested that maybe the kids could get to know each other through DIS before we cruise so they have some friends to hang out with onboard. We're still trying to figure out how to do this!

We kept our last cruise a secret for almost a year, and they didn't know until dinner the evening before we were to embark. The looks on their faces were priceless! But it was VERY hard keeping it a secret - not just because you want to tell them, but because they are getting older and pick up on things more!

Good luck surprising them! :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard Paige and family! We kept our last cruise (last month) a secret from the kids for a year! It was so hard! We did not tell them until the night before. It was worth waiting to tell them. The reaction was just priceless. Hopefully I can get DH to get the video posted to Youtube soon. Stay strong, you can do it!:thumbsup2

I'd love to get the kids to know eachother prior to the cruise! If all goes smoothly, we'll tell them this Christmas and then maybe we can do introductions in January? By the way, the ages I posted for our kiddos were their ages for the cruise. Today they are 4 (DD) and 13 (DS).I've already decided on the Trunk Bay Snorkel. The reviews look GREAT!

All for now! Gotta go do some laundry....hi ho, hi ho!:laundy:

I'd love to slap him upside the head like Mark Harmon does on NCIS.
Has everyones's weather gotten better? I sure hope so. It's great down here in sunny FL. The highs in the low 80's and the lows in the low to mid 60's. :beach: (Does that sound like I'm rubbing it in alittle?) :lmao: :rotfl2: I'm not trying too.......:rolleyes1

Hi David ... Weather here was good today. It did snow on Thursday, but was gon by Friday morning. Today was nice. I spent the day scrapbooking my Europe trip, got 16 pages done today. Not bad for a first timer!

Anyhow .. Been up since 7:00 am ... Time to crash! Take care!

I can already tell it's gonna be a great trip! Your a SCRAPPER!! I just happen to own my own Scrapbook Store up here in Oregon. :woohoo: It's called Paiges In Time. Would the thread Gods frown on me giving you my web address? I dont sell online, but if your ever in Oregon, you'll know where im at!

We're definatly ready for some sunshine up here. Been snowing on & off all day and for the last 2 days here. None of it's sticking though!:sad2: Wish ole man weather would make up his mind!

(I actually pulled something the last attempt I made):scared1: Finally getting better though.

I don't know anything about this scrapbooking ya'll are talking about. We have some things from our last Disney Cruise we want to protect, is scrapebooking a way to protect some of these?:confused3 For example we have our "Pirates In The Caribbean" menus we would like to keep. Is scrapbooking the way to go with these menus?

Well gots to go. Need to run to Lowe's and get some things for the ol' homestead. Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Hi Paige ... Yesterday was my first scrapping event. It was fun and I think I'm hooked! I googled your store. It looks like you have a lot of planned events. The event I went to yesterday was like your event for the DC trip. We went from 8 to 8 and raised funds for a church camp. It was fun!

As a seasoned scrapper:crazy: I highly reccommend getting those menus into an acid free type album. Inevitably, they will fade or tear if you dont get them some protection! OR if you have a scanner, you can go to my digital scrapbooking website and get them into a professionally bound and stitched album...along with your photos! (Google my store and check the home page for more info on my Heritage Makers website...it's free till you click "PUBLISH")
I have albums dedicated just to Disneyland, Our 2001 Wonder Cruise, 2001 Disney World Trip and plan on having another just for this next trip! It's one reason im hoping Disney Cruise Line is now doing the Photo Pass on board the ship. For all the great pics they take, it's worth the price of the disc!

The Scrapbook Bug bite is very potent! I was bitten 14 years ago and look where it's gotten me! My hubby rides motorcycles, but he says my hobby/job is still more expensive than his....in the long run! hmmmm, i dont know bout that! And I dont have to wear a helmet while I scrap!

This morning we had fog, at noon it was snowing, 2pm hail, 3pm rain, 4pm a GORGEOUS rainbow in my front yard and since 5 pm it's been a drizzle. Davidls, Thanks for the Rainbow!!!

All 4 now gang! Have a GREAT WEEK!

Good morning everyone! Our weather has improved a bit, it is at least a bit warmer but we had high winds this morning. We have a very large branch in our yard that fell off of a neighbors tree. I made my kids wait on the porch for the bus, yikes!

I can't wait for sunshine and warm weather so I can get out into my yard and do some gardening!

So, in order to get to know one another a bit more I thought I would ask what everyone does for a living. I see Paige runs her own scrapbook store, I love the name!

I work for a "mega-church" and am in children's ministry as the director of elementary programming. We have about 700-800 elementary kids come through on a Sunday and another 200 on Wednesdays. I love my job!

Ok, I am off to DD6's school, to help with 1st grade math facts. When it comes to math, 1st grade is about all I can handle!:rotfl:

Regarding the weather here ... Drizzling up here. Looks like the sunshine David sent might make it here by Wednesday. I sure hope we are done with alll the snow.

I think I am addicted to Scrapping and theatre and Disney, but not necessariliy in that order. I am Canadian, so my spelling may look different, but to me it is correct :rotfl:, and yes, I do say eh! a lot :rotfl2: .

Hi, my name is Mike. ("Hi, Mike!"). I have been a closet Disneyholic for 8 years. I'm married to Tinkermom3, who had this great idea to get people to post what they do for a living.

I work for DuPont in their packaging business. I am a marketing manager, and have been with them for 20 years this June. No, I do NOT know Jeff Gordon, but have met him a few times. ;)

I am NOT addicted to scrapping, but AM a major photography enthusiast. Unfortunately, I don't get to shoot as much as I'd like. Long term (actually within the next 7 years) I'd like to move to Florida as I HATE the snow. No offense MJGirl, eh...?

I admire you scrappers, my sister is an avid scrapper. I would just rather someone else do it - it's never gonna happen for me unless I can figure out a way to freeze time. I don't even seem to be able to even get my photos printed, which is the first step in creating a scrapbook...

I'd rather make quilts. Those I always seem to have time for!

Well I've been a hugh Disney Fan from them very first show I saw on TV. Can't remember if it was the Mickey Mouse Club:mickeyjum or the Disney TV show,:smickey: I was hooked!!

Great idea on sharing our employment with everyone. I am an estimator with a local commercial print company. I have only been with them for 6 years, but I have been in the printing game for over 32 years now. Started out operating a camera, and making the printing plates, then onto what we call stripping which assembles the negatives onto a piece of orange mylar that makes the printing plates. Next, I ran a press for awhile and then, I did this the longest, I was to become a pressroom manager. I got out of this because of being around the presses I have some hearing loss. I haven't looked at this thread in a long time and was surprised to find it at 8 pages already! In case anybody wants to know, we have a mere 555 days to go until we cruise! I am really looking forward to it. By that time I will have my youngest away at college for her freshman year and we will be "empty nesters". We actually are looking forward to that stage in our lives!
As far as my career - I work for the Dept of the Navy as a Contract Specialist. I've been employeed with the fed government for almost 10 years. Prior to that I held several positions in the health care field (I worked in the lab at a hospital as phlebotomist, worked in admissions, medical records, billing, worked for a medical insurance company as a member services rep, claims processor & claims auditor). Coming to work for the Navy at an Air Station and learning the aviation field was very overwhelming at first, but now I really love my job. My husband retired from 20 years in the Navy, and also works for the DoN as a Manpower Analyst.
And like many of you, we have our fingers crossed for a move to Florida at some point!

Nice to meet all of you!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info on the mojito, Lisa!

We are off to WDW this Saturday -- staying at OKW. There will be 7 of us -- Sam and I and our daughter and her family of 7 (3 kids from 8 - 15). I'm really looking to WDW with the kids again -- the magic is so much more magical with young people along.

I've been looking at the weather for next week. Temps seem great but rain every day. I thought April was a low rain month. Hopefully it will be just the usual quick thunderstorms and not all day rain. I'm also hoping that it won't be TOO crowded since Easter was so early this year. I know the points on our timeshare are not in the high holiday season bracket.

Hey Mary you mean that dreaded green stuff that grows on your lawn. I have to mow that green stuff ALL YEAR LONG!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: All kidding aside I like seeing that green stuff all year. I kinda like green better then white. Unless it's the white sand on Castaway Cay. But honestly Mary, I'm glad to hear you guys up there are finally getting some nice weather.

We're heading over to WDW next Thursday the 10th. We check out the Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT every year. We're staying 3 nights. And of course taking DGD:love: with us. We can't go any where unless she gets to go too. We really need our Disney fix. We haven't been over there since Christmas time. Too long........ way too long.

Hi Everyone! Just checking in! We finally have a beautiful day here in Kansas. It is sunny and in the 60's. Finally feels like spring! The grass is turning green so I guess that means we too will be mowing soon David! Better than shoveling that horrid white stuff! Of course those are both Mike's jobs (DH). Sorry Honey! LOL!

JeanC - Hope you are having a great time at WDW! I love WDW in April. Our first trip there was in April and the crowds and weather were great. OKW is such a pretty resort. Hope the weather is beautiful for you, can't wait to hear all about it!

We may be having some friends joining us on our cruise! Hopefully we can talk them into it. ;) I will let you all know.

I have to go clear rooms now as we are having someone come and paint all of our trim/bookcases/wainscotting on Monday. We currently have all wood trim throughout the house. I can't wait to have it updated to white! I have waited 11 years for this!:cool1:

Glad to hear it's finally getting to be nice weather up there for ya'll. Sounds like my efforts to push some of this sunshine down here up your way worked.

We were suppose to get some rain down here today. So far all we've seen is ol' man sun. I even got up early this morning so I could get my mowing done before the rain set in. My next door neighbor was doing the same thing. We were out there just riding our mowing tractors around cutting the grass, trying to hurry up and get done. We were racing to see who could finish first. Of course he finished first. Did I mention my neighbor is a cheater!!! He's sutch a big baby!!! CHEATER, CHEATER!!!! BABY, BABY!!! I don't think he mowed the grass on the side of his house that I can't see.

Ol' man weather even had some dark clouds rolling around tricking us into thinking it was truely going to rain. Boy oh boy did we get fooled. It still hasn't rained today.

Well granddaughter Emily is staying with us for about 10 days. She is the one that goes with us on our Disney trips and Disney Cruises. She's not feeling to well today. :headache: And, wifey is in the shower making herself all clean, so I better go and check on my patient. Hope everyone has a great week-end. TinksDH & Tinkermom3 ~

I haven't posted to this thread for quite a long time and just realized that you both had joined! It will be SO nice to meet your family considering we live within minutes of each other! I forsee a real-life friendship being made! Our friends and family just don't understand our Disney obsession... even though we've tried our best to convert them over to the Disney vacationing way of life. Thank God for DISers! ;)

It looks like some of our kids are of similar ages. At the time of the cruise, mine will be 13 (boy), almost 12 (twins - boy & girl), 9 (boy), and 4 (girl).

(I 'met' TinksDH in another thread several weeks ago. I was pretty excited just to know there was actually another DISer in Olathe! I had NO IDEA that we'd actually be cruising together!!! :yay:)

Welcome Becki!

We also just got back from WDW yesterday. The drive down from SC was horrendous -- rain for almost the entire 1-1/2 days (we stop for a night so we can get to WDW early the day our reservation starts). Torrential rains thru SC, GA and FL. MGM was open late on Sunday so off we went with our ponchos in place. The weather after Sunday was great. Sunny and very pleasant. We learned that on Sunday, 4/6, the Orlando area got more rain on that one day than they normally get in the whole month of April! Now we are looking forward to DVC at Hilton Head in July and then back to WDW in October.

:yay:)

Oh my gosh! This is awesome! I have not checked in lately as it has been a bit hectic at our house. Our painters were here all last week and finished yesterday - yay!

Anyway, that is so cool that you all are in Olathe and going on the cruise with us! I will PM you to see where you live, it would be too funny if we have actually already met. :)

We are having some lovely spring weather here in Kansas. The grass is really green now! Can't wait to see the trees with leaves!

Welcome AUNITE GOOFY! We re-booked on board for this cruise also.

If not let me know..........I think I gots one good try still in me!!!!! :yay:

I think I told you we got back last Sunday, the 13th, from WDW. And you'll never guess what happened to me. I got my nose and forehead sunburned. That's pretty bad for an ol' Florida bird like me to do. I'm always the one who never burns, just tans. But nooooooooooooooooo..............not this time. Nose is peeling, embarssing as all get out. Hey.............. maybe I'll get a new nose out of all this.......sure could use one.

Well, better gets back to work. Talk to ya'll later!!!!!:yay:

Hi fellow cruise mates. Just checking in once more. Have been busy with life these days. We will soon be thru putting down hardwood flooring in 2 rooms of our house. It just takes time to do things at our age. We were told by a neighbor yesterday, that it looks better than some professionals. DH was very happy to hear that. Our neighbor is experienced in putting down hardwood flooring.

I went to the Broadway Lion King show in Atlanta. :woohoo: It was wonderful of course. :thumbsup2 It was more than I was expecting, really great seats. DH insisted I get a T-shirt. He's so sweet. Love you dear.

Will be posting more as the cruise gets closer. Dreaming happy dreams until we sail.

David ... Yes the sun has arrived.  Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I haven't had to mow our lawn yet, but I'll probably have to next week. Just had the spring fertilizer spread on Tuesday and the aeration is happening next week. I'm hoping to actually have a yard that isn't embarrasing this year.

So 524 days to go! Wow ... I have 108 until my next trip in August. I can't wait I get to experience 4 whole weeks with the mouse. I get to visit Disneyland for the first time, then its onto the Magic for 2 weeks then a few nights at the world. Can't wait. I even get to meet Tracy before our cruise!!

Hey Paige ... I"m off to my first scrapping retreat tomorrow. A whole weekend. I signed up too late to get a room, so I'm travelling back and forth. It's only a half hour drive, so it's not too bad. I'm hoping to finish off my ABD scrapbook from last year. Wish me luck. There is another one in October that I want to attend that I'm going to book earlier as it is a 3 hour drive, and I think I"ll need a room. I'm still looking for a roommate if you are free! :rotfl: By the way, I checked out your website and I hope your Cropping fund raiser went well.

Well to everyone else is doing well. Does anyone have any other Disney plans before our little jaunt to St Croix? Gotta go.

Thanks for the countdown! I've been so busy lately I haven't figured it out lately. We are heading to WDW next Tuesday :woohoo: :woohoo: Then to Disneyland for a couple days. I love Disneyland  No nights at the world in September because we'll still be sailing!! This whole trip is starting to get me excited

I can't wait to meet you too and many of the other folks on the PC cruise. I haven't been keeping up with that thread since it hit part 3 :scared1:

We have quite a bit planned after that cruise too. In the year before our cruise, we will go on three Eastern cruises - one to St. Maarten in December, one to Tortolla in May and this one to St. Croix. I love the Eastern cruises and haven't been on one in a while.

You know DenverVal you are right.:worship: After reading your post I checked my settings on my countdown clock and I had it set 1 week early:confused3 Is my face red or what?!?!????:headache: (Wishful thinking on my part I guess!!!) I do have my count down clock set for 10/8/09 now, we are taking a couple of days off early. One day to get last minute things taken care of, and on the 9th we will head over to WDW to stay for the day, and then drive to the port from there. We did this the last time and it worked well for us.:woohoo:

Well Mary, we got back from a 3 day stay at WDW about 2 weeks ago, it was great!! :cool1: And, this Oct. 2nd we are going to take a 3 day cruise on the Wonder. But nothing as GRAND as you are going to do. I sure am jealous:worship: You wouldn't want to adopt me would you, and take me along?????:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We still aren't finished unpacking -- see me 6 months for that one -- who knew we had that much stuff??? (I also have tons of boxes just labelled Mickey stuff!!!) At some point I'm going to have to learn the art of scrapbooking rather than just boxing.

Fiona ... If you are intereseted in Scrapbooking, you may want to check out GoScrapping (http://www.goscrapping.com) They are offering two weekend events in October and November. I went this last weekend to Stratford. I had a great time, and it was only the third time I've ever scrapbooked. I am totally hooked! But be warned ... it is addictive!! I hope this finds everyone happy, healthy and with plenty of sunshine in their lives. We have had plenty of sunsine down here in the Sunshine state.

I took friday afternoon off to run some errands that could not be done on the week-end. Those done and out of the way, I decided to mow the lawn. You guessed it, got a little sun on the ol' bare back. DW says I should leave the shirt on when I mow. (Not because of the sun, but because people driving by see me mowing with no shirt on and they almost crash their cars. Seeing a big handsome hunk, ME, riding the lawn mower. Those are her words my fellow DIS mates. And, yes she had me fooled for almost a year now. I finally figured it out last week when a young family stopped, got out of their car with the kids, taking pictures of me and laughing their fool heads off . Telling the kids, "kids look at that funny looking man mowing his lawn.") :scared1: My face was not only red from the sun but I had to run and find my shirt to put on to stop the crowd from growing any bigger in front of the house. One of these days I'll learn.:headache: Well, I think I'll go out and try to finish mowing the lawn, I think the crowd has finally gone away. :cool1: See ya!!!

I'm just so excited I am about to burst. I have been keeping a secret from all of you, but it is so close now I can tell. I will be leaving Saturday for the WB Panama Canal cruise. I have been wanting to go on the PC cruise ever since they went in 05. So finally the time it about here. We on the WB PC threads are slowly putting our final good byes before our cruise and we are slowing leaving. Some from Australia left last week. Slowly we will all be on that beautiful ship. We have been a lively group from the amount of posts we have accumulated over the months. We have made many friends from many far away places. There are many lurkers I am sure out there who never posted, but know us. So if you are lurking and have a question or two to ask, I am sure some on here will help you out. Even if you would like to chime in sometimes it can be a lot of fun and helps pass the time until we cruise. Be back in 3 weeks. Oh I forgot we are going to Disneyland after the cruise. Never been, so a new experience for me. Bye all.

Hope everyone's week-end has been a good one so far.:cool1: It's been quite on the home front here. We were suppose to get some much needed rain, but so far nothing, nada, not a drop. This is our time of the year when we get little to no rain. And, so far it has been doing just that. Next month starts the rainy season. YEAH!!!! Need that wet stuff to make the plants grow. If any of you are getting too much in your neighborhood just send it down here my way.
Been busy this past week. I very nice and friendly little kitty came to our door. We have been trying to find his owner but no luck. He is very affectionate and he had a collar on. We took him to our vet to see if he had a micro chip but alas no luck there either. We got him all caught up with his shots. So I guess we are going to adopt him. Grandaughter Emily has named him Sonny, so I guess Sonny it is.

I got very frustrated. I gave up after 1 1/2 hours and then thought about it again and opened the window and I got in and booked everything I wanted. Wasn't so lucky for my tablemates. They wanted the dolphin swim in Puerto Vallarta but I couldn't get it for them. Also Palo was screwed up. I couldn't get a table for 8 for dinner and when I selected the brunch, by the time I confirmed it, it was gone.

My husband and I are retired and are also taking this cruise. I see you are a DVC member. What is your home resort? We joined DVC in 1994 and love it. We have ownership at OKW (just added more points last summer), VB and HHI. Have you cruised DCL before?

Jean

Hi Jean!- We have been DVC since 2003. I LOVE it! Never regreted it for a minute. We own in 2 resorts. Beach Club and Saratoga. I would love to buy in one more but gotta pay off these first Blah!

We have cruised 2 times on Disney before in 2002 & 2004 both 7 day. We took a cruise to Hawaii in 2006 but it was not on Disney so it doesn't count.:lmao: Sure wish Disney would go to Hawaii. My daughter gradutates college in 2 years and I would love to take her on a Hawaiian cruise.

Hi

Mind if I join in? I booked this cruise the other day. Me & Dh, DD 21
Have not read the thread yet but plan to.

:welcome: Welcome aboard Barb. Another DVCer here... Bought into AKV last year. Love it! I would love to buy into Contemporary, but like you, want to pay off akv first !

Sorry things went so horrible for you. I had 3 tours booked before the crash, but forgot to submit them so lost them. When I finally got back in, I was able to get them back. I was all complete by 1:30, mind you I was only booking for two of us. I got brunch for my daughter and I, but am relying on the solo group getting the Private room for dinner, as the menu is too adventurous for Kirstyn.

Hi Val!- Wasn't sure you remembered me. We have a new one and there are several new Colorado people on it. I was surprised that there are so many Dis member that live in Colorado!

Here is the link:

We're taking a Hawaiian cruise this summer, not Disney, but it definitely counts! It will be interesting to see the differences between the cruise lines. I have to say that booking excursions is DEFINITELY nicer on NCL. You can book "whenever", even long before final payment. No nasty awful middle-of-the-night ressie rush.

MJ-Is the Contemporary going to have DVC? I have head so many rumors but never heard anything definite. I would Definitely buy Contemporary if it was available. Walking distance to Magic Kingdom!! I'm In!

Val-My sister and I have been kicking around the idea of taking a NCL cruise next April for my Mom and Dad's 60th anniversary. I have looked at the ships on-line and they look nice, prices are not that bad either. When we went to Hawaii in 2006 one of their ships was docked where we were. Our ship looked tiny next to that one! I love the fact that when you open up their website they have so many places to choose from. I LOVED LOVED LOVED Hawaii. It is so beautiful there. I would love to go back!

Val-The NCL you fly to Hawaii then cruise around the islands right? When we went we sailed from San Diego then around the islands. Didn't get to spend much time on the islands but it was wonderful. I sure wish Disney would go to Hawaii.

I am sooo excited that they are building a DVC resort in Hawaii!!

I picked it due to work. I can't really get away in January to March and I wanted to do both the Tortola and St. Croix Eastern cruises. I picked May for Tortola and October for St. Croix. November is too close to Thanksgiving and I get stressed with vacations too close to the holidays (though that didn't stop me this year LOL). I also like cruising in September or October so it fit.

Tracy twisted my arm. I turned around and twisted Donna's arm (dletz).

The school schedule dictated a later fall sailing. I wanted to sail to one of the new ports, wanted to sail with Disney, needed to make sure my daughter, who will be a senior in HS that year, won't miss any of the mandatory stuff required for graduation which is all at the beginning and end of the school year. She's pretty pleased that we will be celebrating her birthday onboard.

The date kind of picked us. We wanted to go in March but the price was too high to justify. Can't really sail in the summer because of work and price. So, it fell to October - fall break for my kids.

Has anyone done any research on St Croix? I know nothing about it. :confused3 The pictures are pretty!:beach:

I read a little about it when we booked. Cruise lines haven't been visiting this island because of their "crime" issues, I believe is what it was. But they have done a lot to clean up their island seeing how the other islands are making so much money off the tourism. So, I suppose their motto has been to get their act together if they want to partake in the wealth? Reading this made me wonder why Disney would decide to start visiting there, I trust they know what they're doing. When we visited St Maarten last year, I wasn't terribly pleased and had to question why Disney visits there? :confused3 I've decided whatever we do on St. Croix, it will absolutely be a DCL excursion! Check out Cruise Critic. I think this is where I read about St. Croix.

Hey, I thought that was a great question someone asked,"Why we picked this time to cruise.":thumbsup2 Like JDBlair we cruised last year with DCL to St. Maatrin, ours was in October. It was a great cruise, we couldn't have asked for anything better. The weather was perfect, and being from Florida we enjoyed the low humidity. Sooooooo, we're hoping the weather will be great again this time. Plus, this time of year works out best with our jobs and DGD's school. We have never been to St. Croix so this sounded like fun. I didn't know about the crime problem St. Croix had, until JDBlair mentioned it. Like ya'll I hope they have that under control. I personally can't wait for the TR's to start rolling in about St Croix and see what others have to say. That will definitely give us a lot of insight on what to expect. I'm just thankful we're not the first sailing going to St Croix so we don't have to be the test pilots!! Hopefully, you checked out what Cruise Critic says about St Croix. The article was very insightful, I felt. I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I"m back from the PC cruise and DL. What can I say, it was just great, memorable, and of course going thru the Panama Canal was the highlight of the cruise. The time just flew by, even though it was 15 days. I didn't want to leave the ship. Put an add on to this Oct. St Croix cruise for an additional 4 day. We have never been to Nassau. Since we were in the neighborhood we decided to add this too. We will get off the ship and spend the night at Port Canaveral and then on the Magic again.

I'm glad you enjoyed the WB ... I'm on the EB and can't wait.... I think we are down to 79 days now. We have found out what the special nights are. My only problem is we have Palo's booked at 6:30 on the same night as the Mexican menu and I love Mexican food. Is the Mexican menu worth it to miss? I figure we should still be able to attend the party!

That's a hard one to call, where we live we can eat Mexican food, but if you enjoy Palo's how often can you eat at Palo's? I would not miss the show in the Walt Disney Theatre for that night. In our area we do not ever get to see this type of Mexican show. In fact, I would never miss a show in the Walt Disney Theatre. The best show for me and DH was When Mickey Dreams. Each person has there on opinions on this and I only heard from one couple who did not like this show. If you like cirque type shows or have never been to a cirque show, by all means go see this one.

This makes it tough, as I have never eaten at Palos and the only Mexican restaurant within a half hour drive for me is Taco Bell :rotfl: and that doesn't count! My daughter is not joining me at Palos, and she hates Mexican food, so Palos may be the way to go, as she can eat at Topsiders.

I'm trying real hard not to think about it and hope things make a change by next year. I get freaked out every time I hear an airline is going to charge $$$ per bag - knowing we needed 6 bags to get ourselves to the cruise last year. I thought 6 bags for 4 people on a week long cruise was really good. Ugh... :worried:

I'm going to forget even considering packing the smaller suitcases. From here on out, if they're going to charge me for even the first bag, it's going to be the big one, and I'll bring the travel scale to make sure I'm not overweight. United joined the ranks of charging for the first bag and Frontier announced that they'll be charging for the second. US Air announced that their complimentary in-flight beverage service will now carry a $2 charge.

DH and I are waiting for the sales at Christmas to purchase the really large suitcases, as well. If we're going to get charged, I'm with you - I'm bringing the biggest suitcase I can buy and keep the weight limit within guidelines. :thumbsup2

I did see about the $2 soda charge. The news has had nothing positive to say today and since I'm on vacation and at home, I'm hearing a lot of it. Talk about depressing stuff. :( It's too bad you can't bring liquids through TSA so you're left paying highway robbery prices in the airport shops or paying the airlines their $2 fee. DW & I was just readn' yer reports about flyn' down here for our cruise next October.:faint: We are sorry to hear about the increase in plane fares and luggage charges for everyone. We are lucky that we live here in Florida. We live on the west coast, just about 25 miles west of Tampa. We drive over to WDW the day before and spend the night, then drive over to the port from there. We're hoping something will give ya'll a nice break by the time our cruise comes up. We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed for you!!:thumbsup2  I crossed my eyes once and like my mama said, "keep it up smarty and someday they will get stuck that way." Scared the you know what out of me as a kid. Mama was good at that. She could scare the warts offn' a wart hog!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Well talk to ya'll soon. Keep thnikn' and dreamn' Disney thoughts!!!!:mickeyjum :donald: :tigger: :sulley: :ccat: :tinker: pluto: ::MinnieMo

Yes please keep your fingers, toes and anything extra you can think of crossed!!!! I really don't want to find an alternative way to port.. Its so nice to be in FL in 2 hours. ...;)

Glad you had a good time and enjoyed Betty's ... I'll have to try it sometime :thumbsup2 . I watched your video and it looks like the boys had fun. I can't remember if you told me or not, but was this their first trip to the falls? It is quite the sight to see. I don't remember what was more fun, my first trip, or watching my daughter's expression on her first trip when she was five.

It was their first time. I loved seeing the expression their faces when we did "Journey Behind the Falls" ..they were completely taken back by the force of it..It was pricless....:lovestruc

DH said in private "this sure ain't a Disney Cruise"...lol
I think he missed his towel animals at night...:rotfl: and the illusion of not paying for anything......:hyper:

Just wanted to pop in to say hi. We are finally getting some much needed rain down here in the Sunshine State!!!:worship: :worship: :thumbsup2 I know our visitors probably are not all that happy about it, but usn' locals are loven' it. April and May are normally our dryest months and this year was no exception. Seemed even drier then normal if you ask me. Yesterday it rained almost all day long, and today it is starting out the same. :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Well, I hear my lovely DW sweet voice bellowing.............. I mean hollering....
I mean calling to me. She must have a chore she needs me to help her..........
I mean she wants me to tackle on my own while she supervises and orders me around!!!!!! Coming sweetie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, that is funny!!! :rotfl: I knew he'd become a believer, just like Keith. Be sure to tell him he's doing PALO this time!!! Keith and I suggested we 4 could go together and then maybe it wouldn't feel so awkward? :confused3 Also, if we go together, it's only one night Alexander has to endure our absence?

Hi all ... Hope you all had a great weekend. Glad you got some rain in Florida David. Have as much as you want now, so that you're all rained out when I arrive in September. We are there September 1 to 6 right after our cruise. Time to wind down and get my land legs back before it's back to work for me!!!

Val .. Got back from Buffalo about 2 hours ago. Wicked was fantastic. I could see that play over and over. You are going to love it in LA. I checked and I don't think it is playing while we are there (or at least not playing on our one free night :( ). Have you seen We Will Rock You. Another great play!!!

Paige .. How's the scrapping coming along. I'm still working on my last cruise. I want to finish it before I go to on my next cruise. I am off to a weekend getaway in October. I was supposed to be going to a Girl's Night Out at our local store next Friday, but my Mom is coming down for a visit. She arrives Thursday, and I'm at the Gym that night, so I don't think it will be fair to her if I leave her on Friday as well! My goal next week is to get my home scrapping area cleaned up so I can work at home.

Tracy ... Down to less than 2 months!!! Can you believe it!!!

Sounds like fun ... The DVC store is that a permanent fixture?? I was reading on another not to be named web site :) that they are having a meet there for DVCers in the area. Chicago is a city I've always wanted to visit. You've just given me another reason to check it out. That and Chicago Deep Dish Pizza!! :rotfl:

We met up with a bunch of DISUnplugged listeners. We had about 30 people there. The DVC people were great. I believe it is a permanent fixture. It's a great idea. They said people say they don't go to the open houses on property because they are on vacation and don't want to waste the time. Here they aren't on vacation.

Hi everyone! We booked this cruise on our last cruise in April, but I totally didn't think to check for a meet thread till now. It will be me, my husband, and our kids who will be 5yo and 3yo by then. Wow, seems so far cause my son isn't even 2yo yet! We'll be in 8088, the same cabin we were in on the April cruise as well.
