View Full Version : Don't you people have JOBS??

Ok, we just got back from WDW Monday night. I was off yesterday and today, going back to work tomorrow. I "only" took 1,378 photos, got them downloaded to my computer, went thru and deleted the obviously bad ones, and now today I'm running my photos thru Noiseware and uploading a bunch to Photobucket to share with "yinz guyz" (hey, I'm from Pittsburgh!). But just the uploading to Photobucket is taking forever! We've got DSL (I'm impatiently waiting for FIOS!), but it's still taking a long time.

So I log on to see what's new, and Andy and Kyle are already posting their trip reports with tons of photos. (Kyle went home Mon. like us.) And don't both of them shoot in RAW? So they've got a lot more post-processing to do than I do with my little old S3 IS shooting in JPEG.

The only thing I can figure is that most of you don't have jobs outside the house and you can sit at your computers all day playing with your photos. I'm insanely jealous!!!

Ok rant over.......

By the way, one day soon I'll post some photos of our trip!;)

I wish I could do computer work at work. Currently I have transfered the first day pics (126 of them) from the SD card to the HD and have converted most of them to JPEGs. Day 2 there are 288 pics, all have been moved to the HD and converted to JPEGs. I'm in the process of doing Day 3, though I think I'm missing 1 SD card. Haven't gone through them yet. I have 521 from Day 3 that need to be converted to JPEGs. Right now Day 4 looks like 277 pics, which will need to be converted. Day 5 I currently have 455 files in the folder, but I think I have another SD card that needs downloading. I don't have pics from Day's 6 or 7 on the computer yet.

I've got a ton of work ahead of me (photograghy processing wise). I got home early from work today and was able to get Day 2 done, then the kids woke up and DW decided it was more important to put their laundry away. She has a Dr's appt in an hour, but I think I can get the 2 youngest in bed for a nap, this will give me some time to get a few more days done.

Thus far I've only converted to JPEGs, I haven't done any other PP. I know I have a bunch that need white balance changing, other than that I'll wait till their all converted and see which ones need more work.

Let the fun continue!!!!

Hi, Amy!

We were down at the same time. Aren't you the one with the S5 also?

I took alot of pictures at MK (I think it was Sun., Nov 25) of the HS band leading the parade at MK. I can't remember the name of the school right now, as I am at work DISing!;)

When I first opened your thread I was hoping it was your school I had gotten the pictures of, but alas...

We got home Monday night to snow after being in that wonderful sunshine!

I took more video this trip because my 2 grandkids were on there first trip. But, as soon as I get a chance I'm going to post the photos I took of DGD in her princess gown for the princesses breakfast at the castle.

Take care!:)

I'm still working on my August photos, too. No real rush, except I'm making my in-laws an album for Christmas since they came on the trip with us. So I have to get moving on those, anyway. :snail: I worked on them a bit last night.

Looks like you had a fun trip! It must have been neat running into some of the folks from around the boards!

Aw....thanks, guys! Makes me feel better.

Linda - I saw your post on the breast cancer thread about your dog Kayla. You had me in tears!

Hey, I'm just getting around to serious postprocessing of my Disneyworld pics from Summer 2006, and summer holiday pics from summer 2007. (I keep posting movies here, but nobody ever comments :) ).

I'm hoping that I can continue serious post processing until just before my next trip to WDW (tentatively scheduled for summer '09)

regards,
/alan

PS If anyone's posting S5IS images, please post a few 100% versions - I'm seriously considering the camera and would love to see what the picutures look like in real-world environments rather than photo review websites.

We have DSL also- it irritates me with all the options in this area the upload speeds are WAY slower than the download speeds (which are what they advertize.)

We were there for five days over Thanksgiving and I do not even have one day complete yet. To be fair to myself, I just have not had any time. We brought sickness home from WDW that took a few days out of us. That on top of month end close at work (I'm an accountant), DDs in school, sports, performances, cleaning the house, decorating... Well, do not feel bad b/c you are not the only one not complete with processing. :goodvibes

umm... unfortunately at the moment no I don't...:) But I am spending an awful lot of time trying to fix that little problem.

I don't spend a lot of time PP my photos though, I go through them in lightroom cropping and minor color/wb adjustments as I go. Maybe 1 in every 500 gets opened up in photoshop.... but then again, if I knew more about photoshop I might do more too....

I'm in an industry that is going through some pretty hard times, so this week the answer is yes. Next week, who knows?

But I could finally catch up on all my keyword tagging in Lightroom if that changed.

Well, I didn't have a job for a little while there, after I was laid off two days after returning from my last WDW trip. But it still took my a few weeks to go through my photos - having a young child in the house slows you down.

Since then, I've been working for at least 3 months or so on re-doing all my last-trip WDW photos in Lightroom... and now I finally found why some of them look a little bland, so I'm going to have to re-export them all and re-upload them, which may break any hotlinks I've made to them again... argh! (The problem is that Lightroom tends to make reds a bit orange when shooting in Raw, I've adjusted the camera calibration a little and it really helps to make the reds pop and the greens greener. Apparently, its default profiles for many/most DSLRs tend to do this... I guess Adobe doesn't like red!)

I was able to upload some pics live from the last WDW and the last DL trip, but that's due to staying up at night too late!

:lmao: when we were in fl it seemed like 90% of the residents we talked to were either from Ohio or Pittsburgh...husband always notices the Pittsburgh "accent" to me it sounds "normal" :lmao:
