Ahhh, that looks really nice right about now. Much better than this office chair.:lmao:

lol Emily.....exactly!:thumbsup2

YES YES YES!!! I would LOVE to do a Castaway Cay day with you. That's exactly where I would put my chair too.....right on the water's edge. How DIVINE!

I miss it because John doesn't do beaches.......he hates the sand. How about Mark? Does he like the beach?

Mark doesn't mind the beach but he prefers to spend most of his time in the water rather than on the beach as he can't take the heat so much. We both love CC though:woohoo: We can have a DIS camp on the beach!

Fine with me.....I'll ask John if he can tough it out for one day.....we'll have to get him a cabana and keep the drinks coming.......then he might not mind so much.

I'm with Mark too.....if it's too hot, I need to be wet. As soon as I dry off, I'll jump right back in.

For those that don't like the beach too much get to Serenity Bay early real early and go to the left Joe and I went back there last cruise and it was great there is a pathway back there to the restrooms and the BAR!!! so you can escape really fast whenever you want to for a drink or break from the sand plus I think it is more shady back there than the main section of Serenity Bay. The reason I say get there early because there is only about 15 chairs. The only downside to hiding back there is the water bottom has alot more growth but if you wear water shoes no problem.

I remember there was one hammock back there. I will check when we go next month.

Where do you live in the Pocono's we have been up there camping and my girls went to girl scout camp there many years ago. We live in Upper Chichester about 5 minutes from Delaware.

NICE.....we own land in Delaware.....we go there all the time for our escapes to the ocean. We could do a minimeet if you're up for it. We would come down there and then continue on to Delaware for the weekend. I would love that.

We're in Saylorsburg, just North of Wind Gap and West of Stroudsburg. We're next door to Brodheadsville at Route 33 and 209.

Thanks for checking out the hammock.....you're going next month???? How great for you. Which cruise are you doing?

Weren't you on the WB PC Repo? Your name looks very familiar, but I don't recall running into you on there.:confused3

gotta love those hammocks too! we normally get there pretty early and have been lucky enough to grab a hammock a couple of times:cheer2: I do wish there was an easily accessible pathway (boardwalk do I mean?) along the beach....it can be quite hard to walk along sometimes.

mmmmmmmm......... Serenity Bay..........one Konch cooler and one beer please.....:rolleyes1

We also have a place in DE we are in PotNets in Long Neck love it down there we are on the bayside about 30 minutes from the ocean also can't beat the taxfree shopping at the outlets We have very good friends that live downthere so we go down all year not just in the summer.

No we weren't on the WB PC. The DCL cruises we have been on so far:
October 4, 06, Dec 28, 07 NYE, Sept 24,08 BB Sept 27, 08 Double Dip.
We are going on our next cruise Nov 30th on the Wonder first time for that ship. We really like cruising been on a couple of Carnival cruises also.

I love the area you live in Joe always wanted to buy property up there but we ended up down the beach since that is where the girls and I wanted to be maybe someday we will buy up your way.

I was actually trying to find a picture of the two of us to post. On the Double Dip my DDBF took tons of pictures still waiting for them to get them to me:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 especially since our older DD got engaged   on that trip so I really want a copy of those pictures.

Now I know why you seem so familiar......I was booked on the Sept 08 DD and checked out that thread. But I ended up cancelling it because I did the PC instead. We would love to see pics. I just posted some of me and DH on this thread recently, so you know what we look like.

Me and DH John are ocean people.....don't ask me what we're doing in the mountains. We bought land in Laurel, DE but it's got a Georgetown address. It's in lower, slower Delaware. We're about 15 minutes west of Bethany Beach. I love it there.

How awesome that you had such great moments to remember on the DD cruise. When is your DD's wedding? That must be so exciting for you.

Wow, that makes us neighbors in DE....we should do a minimeet there. We could meet at the Rusty Rudder next time you're down there. Sounds like fun.

Oh yea, after you pin her down with an exact date and place......the FUN (chaos) begins! Why is that always the way? John and I always said that if you could get through the wedding preperations together then the marriage will be easy. Good Luck and Enjoy!

Don't want to bring everyone down but this is very much on my mind right now and I need to tell someone. (sorry Maz I know you've already heard this)

Some of you may remember the very sad hit and run killing of my best friend's daughter in Feb 2007. Joanne was killed by a woman who wasn't taxed/insured, and then drove away from the scene leaving Jo for dead. Her husband then helped her to set fire to the car to destroy any evidence

Just about 10 weeks ago after much heartache and a lengthy case, the woman was given just 9 months in prison, her husband a few months and a neighbour who also helped them was sentenced. Nothing would ever bring Jo back of course but this was not justice.

Yesterday the courts saw fit to release all three of these wicked people after serving just weeks. It makes a mockery of the British justice system I think, and tells my friend and her poor husband and other children, that Jo's life was worth almost nothing to other people.

I am so angry, and so sad for all the family. I don't want this to turn into a heavy debate but I had to vent somewhere...thanks for listening.

Stacy and Maureen.....maybe we should plan a bigger minimeet at the Rusty Rudder. I always say, the more the merrier!

The dolphins are the best part.

I seem to see a theme in your family Stacy, you live on the Jersey Shore, you have a brother in Key West and a brother in Bethany Beach. Any other family members? Do they all live near the ocean?

I only noticed because I'm an ocean person and so is DH John. We both grew up on Long Island, NY so we were fish since we were little. That's why we love cruising. We love being at sea and sitting on our verandah. We usually start every morning out there doing coffee from room service.

Actually... it is the SAME brother... The one who lives in Key West.. Bethany his wife, it's her parents who own 2 beach houses.. The one in Bethany Beach is where we all go each year.. They also have a house in Bethesda Beach Maryland..

Stacy, we're both on at the same time again and it's after 1am.

Everytime we go to FL I look for alligators in the wild and never see any. I guess I'm looking in all the wrong places. But I can't even imagine living with them nearby in the lakes. Do they ever come out near the homes?:scared1:

Nope.. but we have been told that one ate a small dog :sad1:

We were told when we were looking at the lots to choose from about them..

We have a lake in front of our house.. that when they get to 6 feet they get removed by animal control because they can't curb their appetites.. So they come around reguarly and check.. We have a huge lake, Lake Hancock, right in the development, but I haven't been over there yet in person. We drove by it but never got out to go to the edge..

Ohh I should have a pic, be back in a minute..

This is an OLD picture, before the house was finished... This is a picture I took standing on the opposite side of lake facing our house, on the corner there... Just so you get get a sense for how big our lakes is...

If any of you gator watchers ever get a chance to drive over the Lake Jessup bridge that connects Sanford and Oviedo, you will see TONS of the big guys hanging out in the water! I used to drive that way to work every day, and I developed this superstitious system where I could tell what kind of day I would have by how many gator heads I counted on my drive :rotfl:

We've been on a little pond in our home for three years, and thankfully I have yet to see a gator. I have seen an otter though. And lots of turtles. We have some pretty big lakes nearby, but I don't think our pond is big enough to support a gator, thank goodness! I've lived here all of my life and they scare the poop out of me! :scared1:

You wouldn't think we'd have them, but there have been gator spottings here in N. Alabama in the Tennessee River.:scared1: Supposedly years ago only females were put in there to control some sort of animal population. The females weren't supposed to breed and they would just die off. Well what do you know, they're still here!!!!:lmao:

You and my DH were neighbors. Glen Cove is a beautiful area.

Nope.....I had no idea there were turtles in WDW anywhere. The next time I am down there I will be on a mission to find them. Thanks for the info Marilyn.

We'll probably go down in Spring around the end of April.....that's the anniversary of our first date. So we have an anniversary in Spring and in Fall. We usually try to do WDW for one and DCL/WDW for the other. So I will be looking for them now that I know.

I know and I have John to thank for that!!! Oh, and being old and just about retired of course, and having the time. It is really our 40th wedding anniversary trip, and started off going to be a motoring holiday in the west, visiting LA, SF,etc etc. Then we booked the QM2 and added a few weeks to drive up from Orlando to NY. Then, when Carolyn mentioned going to Orlando, we jumped at the chance to be with them, so kept the long vacation.

I'm happy that our thread is still going but I'm sad that so many people are moving on to other threads and other meets because they're moving on and the family of Thieves are leaving the nest.

I seem to be going through a lot of "empty nest syndrome" lately. Oh well, I'll get used to the differences and learn to adapt. Of course as soon as I get used to it and I like it, someone will be asking to move back in with us again. It happened to us before. It will probably happen again.

Yes, we must 'do' afternoon tea with Monica!!!:yay: I have been wondering where she is. She was meeting karen(Custard Tart) at Beaches and Cream on Wednesday, but I have only seen 1 quick post from her since.

I'm wondering where Monica is too, sure hope she's okay  We are supposed to be meeting up once or twice next week at WDW. She was to PM me back yesterday or today but hasn't  Monica,,hugs if you need them. I'll try calling you Monday or Tuesday. Hope all is well. I'm going out the door on my way to pick up Sara and Trevor in just a few minutes and we are on our way :cool1:

So I woke up this morning thinking about Cadbury chocolate (NOT a good start to the weekend for a dieter). And now I'm wondering...do they have British Cadbury chocolates in Tortola?????

I also realized, now that the weather is cooling, I could receive Cadbury chocolates via the mail without them melting AND it's my birthday in two weeks.....:rolleyes1 I'm just saying......

I grew up in Glen Cove in Nassau County

Yes, we will wait until spring or early summer we will be even closer than to our cruise :cool1: :cool1:
Hi! I am trying to catch up to you guys - just wanted to say I lived on Long Island for 5 years! I lived in Westbury, Lindenhurst, Wantagh... where else? I think that's it. I worked a ranch off Valentine Lane and loved riding the horses in the fall... I had a LOT of fun those years... love going upstate to the beatiful mountains. Love walking the beach (Jones) in November when NO one else was there... thanks for the walk down memory lane.
E-mailed Monica and told her to CHECK IN! :lmao: :lmao:

...lunch break over (had last night's steak for lunch today...yum....don't ask what I had last night instead.....:sad2: )
Sister... when I asked how it was going last night - you didn't mention the cheating that has taken place... naughty naughty - but WAY to go on the 7 lb loss so far!:dance3:

P.S. You were RIGHT (naturally) we go to TORTOLA FIRST. I'm a little sad about that... but I'll get over it.

GOOD MORNING ARIZONA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MARK!!!! It sounds like you had a lovely day together.

I think I remember being there with you at the Hard Rock, but I'm not sure it was exactly on Mark's birthday??? Was it??? If so, we owe him a celebration cheers!!!

Thanks Deb it was lovely. We met at Planet Hollywood I beleive, at DTD didn't we? It was one of our last days. We'd stayed at HRH the week before when it was Mark's birthday...it's our fave hotel:cool1:

I seem to be going through a lot of "empty nest syndrome" lately. Oh well, I'll get used to the differences and learn to adapt. Of course as soon as I get used to it and I like it, someone will be asking to move back in with us again. It happened to us before. It will probably happen again.

Oh you and me both with the empty nest syndrome! I could always move in for a while if you like Deb!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Don't you just HATE medical procedures and tests and doctors! It's the worst possible thing.

I hope it goes quickly and easily for you Angel. Then I hope you won't have to go back again for a long, long time.

So, one of my errands today was to the watch repair shop to have some batteries put into a couple of watches...and what did I do? I bought a new Mickey Mouse watch! It's very cool and was only $30, so its part of my birthday present to myself. The band is Mickey heads, alternating gold and a pewter/silver color. Watch face is a pale brushed pewter with gold Mickey, dots for the numbers and the hands. Oh, and between each link is a small round rhinestone. It was a choice between that one and a Tink one with a lime green band.

Had a lovely lunch with Peg too!

Good Morning Angel, Emily and Marilyn.

It feels like snow in the air. It's dark and cold and damp outside. I'm waiting for something to fall from the sky. I want to go turn my heat up, but my kittie, Ella, is sleeping under the blanket that I have over my lap as I sit and type. I don't want to get up because I'll disturb her, but it's way too cold now. I need the heat up. The blanket is not enough anymore.

I'm with you and Maz on the tiara choice Deb:woohoo:

YEAHHHHH That's 3 for the same one. The poll is still open.....all the champagne girls should vote.

:rolleyes1 lol Deb, sitting here with Bob (our cat in case you wondered:thumbsup2 ) all curled up to me thinking I really must go and turn that heating up......we're just too alike aren't we?!:goodvibes

Well after a long period of time, I did get up because I had to run to the bathroom. Then I put the heat up and had some lunch. So I disturbed her and she ran around the house and the dog, Angel, chased her. Now that I have settled down again, Ella is by my side all curled up on the couch sleeping. I don't have the blanket on so she can't curl up on it or under it. The dog Angel is laying on the floor in front of me rolling around on her back and looking silly.

I love having my pets to keep me company everyday. We are so very alike Angel....we're having the same weather today too.

How ARE YOU??? Yesterday was your medical procedure. How do you feel??? Did it go well???? I did think of you yesterday during the day. I hope all is good now.

Thanks Deb, it was uncomfortable and horrid but its done now and they didn't find any abnormalities which is good of course, but means I now have to have more tests :sad2: I have to wait another week for some other results to come back so :rolleyes1 til then I guess...

Anyway, just spoken to Becky, who has a nasty cold, is still trying to sort out her phone after dropping it down the loo....and has just had a major row with her boyfriend....:rolleyes1 It's hard only being able to cyber hug!:guilty:

Chocolate covered strawberries with champagne while taking a bubble bath. It sounds good to me.

I'm glad there were no problems but something needs to be found so that it can get fixed. Let's hope it's minor and they find it soon.

Hugs to you and Becky today!!!

Jackie was never booked on the B2B (nor Peg)
Cheri IS booked on the B2B
Ian & Sukie did not book the B2B (they may be doing WDW before)

those are the ones I know about for sure.

I'm still holding two reservations for 2010 (Baltic and WBTA). Baltic will most likely be switched to another cruise line if we can get a much more attractive rate. And we WILL be sharing that information with everyone in an attempt to have a DIS meet on RCL (or whoever). :lmao: A campaign was launched to sway Monica from Baltic to EBTA, but she's not going for it...the Baltic ports are her heart's desire. Peg is now booked on the WBTA. I may have some hard decisions to make, but will wait till after THIS cruise before making them. I'm sure $$ will be the deciding factor.

YIKES....time to hit the shower.

Thanks Jackie......so that's us, Kathe, Cheri and maybe Marilyn that are doing the B2B. That's what I wanted to know. Just in case I have to cancel the second week too.

Fortunately my 2010 cruise, although a huge amount of money for me to spend on a cruise, is not until one year and three months after this one. So I'll have time to pay off the B2B and then start on the Christmas one.....or so I'm thinking.....more like really really hoping. I budged out the amount that I would have to pay each month starting in January 09. So that's what I'll work on doing and we'll see how much life gets in the way.

For all the Champagne Girls out there.....I was just pink tiara surfing and came up with a few. Let's see which one you all like best.

We can always order the same ones that we had last time. They were very nice for a good price. Here's a refresher of what they look like.

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/EllaEnchanted00/415Y9O85HEL__SL500_AA280_.jpg

Or try some other types.

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/EllaEnchanted00/yhst-23627653430323_2025_7232184.gif

Or go for something with a little pink fuzzy fake fur. I like some of these and would tend to go for this type first. Naturally, in the pink color!!!

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/EllaEnchanted00/41xJshGc0IL__SL500_AA280_.jpg

I think this one looks like our last one but it has the pink fur. I think this would be my first choice.

I wouldn't think it would start until then since they couldn't get a customs agent onto the ship until they actually get there. The only bad thing about that is nobody can leave the ship until everyone clears customs. I think they normally have at least two agents on each side of the Walt Disney Theater clearing people.

Hi Peg.....I think you might have the 2009 and the 2010 cruises mixed up. This one is the 09 Eastern with a B2B Western for some. That's what that list was for.

I think you need Cheri to dogsit for you on your 2010 Western TA. The list above has nothing to do with that cruise.

Is that what you meant when you asked? I hope I helped. If not, ask again.

Hi everyone,
I have been missing in action this summer. For those of you who remember me from the WB PC cruise, I have been in therapy for my wrist all summer:sad2: , and although I have a ways to go, it is getting better.:yay: :yay: I have missed the Dis boards, but hopefully I am going back to the part in this thread where I left off way back in June or July, and read all the post---or at least I want too. If anyone could catch me up as far as group plans, I would appreciate it. Just the condensed version--I know that's asking a lot. I am REALLY looking forward to this trip for 14 days:banana: -I didn't get to enjoy a lot of the latter part of the PC cruise, so I can't wait for this one. We are also booked on the 12 night Baltic cruise on July 6th, 2010-anyone else from here on that cruise? I need to go to that cruise meets board also. That cruise is causing some "price panic", but we have a long time to save up. I guess I have gone on long enough for now, but hope to be back on the boards now...Vicki

Hi All you Champagne Girls.....just wanted to let you know that our tiaras have been ordered. I'm so excited and can't wait to see them up close and personal. They came 6 to a bag so I got 8 bags for a total of 48 tiaras. That will be well more than we need, I'm sure. Now I'm ready for this cruise to get here. Hurry Up.....Let's Go!!! We have our tiaras, we'll get the champagne onboard.....I'm ready, who else is?:cloud9:

Thanks Kaz, I love that you added the text so I stole it to add to my signature too. Good Thinking!!!

I think it's unanimous that we have found our tiaras. I'll order them now so we definitely get them. Thanks for participating everyone.

I also don't think we'll change them every cruise. I think we'll make them our official tiaras for the champagne girls. I better buy a lot to have on hand.

Glad you liked it, Deb! :thumbsup2 It's amazing how the creative juices flow when you've got housework chores AND a 1500 word essay to write... ;) :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Thank you - they are rather lovely chaps if I do say so myself... :goodvibes Yes, I try and fly UC as much as funds/points allow - buying into DVC has made a huge difference on that score as previously we used to spend a fortune on family hols and just fly PE! Now I hunt around for the more reasonable UC fares and more often than not get them...;) Enjoy your flight!!! :flower3:

...How do you rate Cape May breakfast? My fave is the one at Ohanas but this comes a reasonable 2nd. We've been twice - I really enjoy the character interaction plus the brekkie pizza and cinnabon-esque bread n butter pud are delicious!!! :cloud9:

I fear we might not be able to continue flying UC, but I usually say we are only paying for us these days, and we don't spend as much as a family going on holiday and that makes me feel better. PE was very good though and we might fly that class next September. We are in UC in April-June though!

I am trying to work out which character meals to book for when our grandkids are with us next may. CP is a must as long as they haven't taken away the characters by then. I was thinking Tusker House too as we have 2 boys 9 & 11 with us as well as the 7 years old girls, but have been reading the characters are just rushing through!! As the kids like all different things I was thinking buffets would be a better bet than Ohana or else that would have been a great choice.

Marilyn, you suggested a friend for me on Facebook and I've been wracking my brain trying to think who this person is....help!

I think I'll put together some more photos to send off to Chicago sister and Charlotte brother to taunt them more about this cruise. Don't know what 'theme' I should choose. Restaurants/Food? Spa/gym? Adult venues? Should I just do a 'walking' tour of embarkation day? Oh, and I could also do a 'people I know that you'll get to meet on the cruise' one. Decisions, decisions AND a good chore shirking project too!

Thanks Deb,
I DO want to be in the Champagne tasting, I missed it last time and it looked like so much fun. We are still doing the B2B as planned right now, will see how things go-the Baltic trip really is steep!! I am still making jewelry, we have done a few craft shows, and actually done quite well, but it is just a hobby.

Hi Vicki. Glad to hear from you and that your wrist is improving. It has been a long job for you.

[/QUOTE Thanks,
It has been a LONG road, and still not finished. Since you asked in another post, and for those who weren't on the WBPC cruise---I broke my wrist (fractured/dislocated) and had to go to the hospital in Acapulco. We don't speak Spanish, and the hospital staff spoke VERY little English. They put me to sleep, reduced my wrist, and put a long arm cast on me. I had numerous problems with the cast during the remaining 5 days of the cruise, and therapy has been difficult since it was over 3 weeks from the time I broke my wrist until I had surgery, but hopefully I'm on the right track now.

We are scheduled to arrive at 8AM...maybe the immigration thing won't start till then. Or maybe the feds come out and meet the ship earlier??
Last week on the Magic, we had a Customs & Border Protection inspection. Guests started assembling (by groups) in the Walt Disney Theatre as early as 8:45, which was before the 9:30 "ashore" time. All guests had to pass through Inspection by 10:45.

I'm still holding two reservations for 2010 (Baltic and WBTA). Baltic will most likely be switched to another cruise line if we can get a much more attractive rate. And we WILL be sharing that information with everyone in an attempt to have a DIS meet on RCL (or whoever).
We are very interested in doing this on another cruise line, especially if it's Royal Caribbean.

It's one of the 'contenders'. I think they did not have the port for Berlin on their 2009 itinerary, which Monica would like to see (but not mandatory), so it will be considered.

So, do you like RCL better than NCL, Celebrity or HAL? I took a look at the NCL and Celebrity ships that are going next year, still have to check out RCL and HAL (HAL is the bottom of the list as it will probably noe start and end at the same port...a strong negative in my book).

Last week on the Magic, we had a Customs & Border Protection inspection. Guests started assembling (by groups) in the Walt Disney Theatre as early as 8:45, which was before the 9:30 "ashore" time. All guests had to pass through Inspection by 10:45.

We would not hesitate to book Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. HAL would probably be our last choice. I don't know enough yet about NCL.

Hello all.

It has been quite some time since we have checked this thread. We got back a few weeks ago from aboard the Magic. We were on the Eastern that was interrupted due to Hurricane Omar. Didn't get to go to St Thomas - Nassau instead. We have been to St Thomas before, so it wasn't a HUGE disappointment. St Maarten was AWESOME - until part of Omar started it's downpour on us. Luckily we were close to the ship and ran on as fast as we could. Never, ever have we seen such a heavy rain. It was crazy, and came on just like someone turned on a light switch.

We are still booked for this cruise, but may switch to a week at Vero Beach in September or October if we can get a reservation. After three Disney cruises (one being the WBPC) in a 12 month span, we might need a break. Still excited for this cruise, just will wait to see for sure by March.

Had a great surprise last week as our youngest daughter was chosen as Student of the Month for October:

Will try to keep up now that things have calmed down.

We had to move this cruise to the Transatlantic in 2010. But we DID book the DVC members cruise! So I hope to see some of you at WDW this winter or next summer, look us up! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

We are going on the Eastern this Saturday.....any good ideas for St. Maarten? Chuck is hiking on St. Thomas.

Hi Vicki:hug: So nice to hear from you! Glad to hear you are on the mend, but what a long haul for you:sad2: This cruise will be great! So glad we will get a chance to meet up again.
