Good afternoon, cruisin' buddies! :wave2:  Hope everyone had a peaceful and happy Christmas... :santa:  :santa:

Everything was wonderful here - lovely prezzies, fab food and drink, marvellous company! It had to be one of the best ever...

Here's the gifts around the tree...

This was the Christmas dining table...

Happy, happy memories...

Anyway, since the big day I've been busy re-scheduling our September '09 trip! :thumbsup2 Originally DH and I were flying out for ten days - 3 days in WDW followed by this cruise. Then a few days ago, my DD requested a 2009 Girls Only trip with her Mama and, with my Uni commitments, a week following the Tortola cruise was the best fit. SO yesterday I cancelled our existing Fly-Drive and re-booked flights only (saving around $1500!!!) - DH is still doing the original 10 days, Sophie is joining me from September 19th to 26th and I'm now spending an amazing seventeen (that's 17 folks!!!) Disney-immersed days!!! I have never spent so long with the Mouse!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I emailed a request to DVC for a 1 bedroomed unit at VWL and within 2 hours I received a reply confirming the booking - how's that for service and so much easier than hanging on the telephone!!!??!! :goodvibes
.
ELEGANT Christmas!! Very lover-ly!

:yay: Mother-daughter Trip--NICE :thumbsup2:

Kaz, love your Christmas decorations, and the table is beautiful!

Congrats on booking the back-to-back. Kathe (Katypop) will be having her daughter join her for the second week too and several of our cruise-mates are doing the back to back. Fairly recently there was a group of about 30 people doing a back to back....wonder if this crowd will beat that number.

Looks like I'll be doing a WHOLE WEEK at WDW pre-cruise and I'm very excited about that! :dance3: Don't know where we will be staying...as I'm just a tag-along and the DVC resort won't be booked till the first week of Feb. Wonder when my fellow travelers ARE GOING TO START POSTING ON THIS THREAD some more. (Did you hear me, kids?) I think I'd better start rounding them up! :lmao:

Anyone we know Jackie???

I quite fancy that as an anniversary treat for DH and myself - I'll try to find out the cost and let you know... :thumbsup2

Well, I sent in an inquiry and got an answer emailed today and all I can say is... Ouch!!! The Yacht will accommodate up to 10 guests and is $3900.00. Wayyyyyyyyyyy to pricey for our budget, even with 10 people to fill the boat.. We were expected it to be in the $1,000 - $1,500 range

Oh well... On to "other" excursions we go..

Wasn't there also one for a villa somewhere? I was flipping through the travel channel and saw a villa at Virgin Gorda that was available 'for rent'. The place was HUGH and probably very, very pricey!

Yes, there is a Villa one as well.. We weren't interested in the Villa though.. We thought the private boat would of been really awesome for our group.. Although a private Villa would of been pretty cool if it were just myself & DH

Yeah, I got that email too! Wow, $3900!!! Not even when we were getting $2 to the £ would that have been feasible... Shame as I would've loved that for DH and myself but I'm still reeling from the cost... :faint:

I saw both of those. $3900, now I know why they call those Signature Excursions. You have to sign your life away to take them.:lmao:

No hidden Mickeys!?! I'm going to complain.

But there is an ice skating rink, a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, a golf simulator, a promenade mall, and a Johnny Rockets.

::yes:: The lovely and talented Ian & Sukie & Cheri. :thumbsup2

I've been browsing through my 2005 WDW Passporter and will be making a list of all the attractions I haven't done yet (in 9 previous visits), as well as a few restaurants I've yet to try. THEN, there are some favorites that I haven't visited in a while that I'd like to try again. I'm really glad this visit will be for a whole week, as the last several have just been for two or three days. PLUS, with Sept heat and humidity, I know I'll need some down time each day.

Woody, I like that they have the bed by the verandah. I always hate having to walk around the beds to get to the couch/vanity/verandah (which is a reason I really like DCL's inside cabins).

Wow!!
I went looking for the thread, and almost couldn't find it :confused3 I figured I would bump it up to the top. Now that the holidays are over, it's time for me to get serious about planning the cruise. My DH is having surgery on his neck on Jan 27th, so we will be spending more time at home -at least for a while.
Can anyone catch me up on the group plans--like meets, FE, etc.. I know about about the champagne girls-I think Deb has already included me in that. Has anyone decided on their excursions? I also need to get busy on that.
Lastly-how many people are still doing the B2B
Sorry for all the questions:) Vicki

Vicki--questions are good.

I do not recall any plans being made so far. Now that we are in the YEAR OF THE CRUISE people are more likely to post and plan.

We have some posts of pictures of cruisers and info that I have been adding to and reposting every 10 pages or so. They are last posted on page 181. You can check them out and see if you want to add up-to-date info about yourself on the first one and a photo on the second. All you have to do is post what you want included here and I will move it there. Once we get to page 190 I will probably repost both posts.

We are cruising with our kids and 9 month old grand daughter and they are not DISers. The cruises I have gone on where we planned and participated in a lot of meets and group outings felt like a convention not a vacation and since we do not know what to expect of the baby, we are going low key this time.

However, I bet if you start chatting up ideas others will join. You could review the info at the bottom of post 1 and start discussing the various excursions perhaps.

Hi.. :yay:

We don't have any full blown set plans yet for anything.. We are kinda waiting for our new thread to start (SO HURRY UP & KEEP POSTING EVERYONE!!!) because the owner of post 1 is M.I.A. &doesn't have a current ticker showing for this cruise... cabin numbers and people have been changed around so a New fresh Post 1 should be made by an active cruiser so we can keep updating everything..

Heck, I'd start a new one if everyone would agree to it.. we could stop posting here, and I will attach a link to it, on Post 1 of a new cruise meet thread.. :confused3 Or if anyone active here that would like to by all means.. go right ahead...

It might be good if you do start a new thread. We must have scared Steve off somewhere, though I don't think he ever wanted to keep track of things. I'm wondering if he is still going. Shame.

It might liven things up a bit and get us in the mood for planning again!

Maybe once we start a new one, we can ask the mods to close this one that way there's no confusion.

I have been trying to keep the list up and reposting it every 10 pages or so. It is at the top of 181. If it is wrong i would love to have people let me know and I will correct it and repost around 190. I am the one who started it and Steve copied it into post one but then I couldn't keep it up so I took it over and reposted every so often. The photos are there too. Anyone want to add or correct?

Since we heard from Steve and he is no longer cruising with us, I say start a new thread.. As long as you feel you can keep up with it, by all means Post away.. As for the logo, sure why not, use what we got..

Just a suggestion.. You may want to only include those of us that are still active and or have a ticker stating they are still cruising with us.. I know a few people on the list on Post 1 are no longer cruising with us..

Jan, for the page 1 info only additional information is for TiggersPal (you have her listed right under me) celebrating 50th Birthday and cabin # is 6602.

Don't see any reason we can't start a new one now. As soon as you build it, post a link here and I think Steve will have to ask a mod to close this one (think it has to be the OP).

I vote YES keep "Last Call for Tortola" in the header.

I have realized that I cannot handle the post Panama Canal thread, this one and knit sweaters for the cutest baby in the Universe, so the PC thread is being dropped. It is Tortola and Sophie :cutie: (who is going on that cruise) which I will focus on.
