If you want to sail using your points, you have 72 hrs to call Member Services and book to get an "onboard" discount. You're right around the mark so call ASAP. I called and said we wanted to sail in 2011 with our points and they noted it for us (because that's what the online DVC guys said to do) so I have some time to use my onboard discount. :thumbsup2

Dang... I had full intentions of calling when I went to sleep last night. It was4:45 PDT today when I remembered...too late on the East Coast DVC was closed. Guess I can't loose what I never had :rolleyes:

No we did not. They did not have the Cat we wanted on the the date we wanted. So we will wait and do one later in the year.

Those are cool. I took a couple pics at Castaway Cay to make a panoramic as well. I will try to get those stitched together. Did you do the stitching in Photoshop? How big is the file that you made?

You should be able to find out the pricing on 9/21. That's when the Castaway Club Gold members can book, so DCL will have to have the prices by then. If the rates don't show up on the DCL site, I'm sure some DIS'ers will have posted them. :surfweb:

Have you done an Alaska cruise before? We're looking at doing the inaugural DCL Alaska Cruise on 5/3. I'm waiting to see the DVC point and prices. I have asked a CC Gold on the 5/3/2011 North To Alaska thread to post the points for me when they book on 9/21.

I'll let you know if we book... maybe you'd like to go north too?

Lise - thanks - I'll be watching on the 21st (DIS boards are an addiction to be sure!). I'm also interested in Alaska, but from what I've been reading on the boards, it sounds like late August is better for that & I can't wait a year to cruise again. So, I want to go in Mar/Apr and than again in Aug/Sept.

I'm also following the debate on the boards around whether DCL has the best itinerary for Alaska. Since I still like HAL, I'll probably go with them for Alaska in the Fall. My take after my first DCL cruise, is that HAL is good (at least for me) as a relaxing cruise and DCL for a fun one. :thumbsup2

I made them. I have a Yudu (it is a single screen printing station) made by the same company that makes the criket.

I have the back to the real world blues....My trainee was very sick while I was on the cruise, and so I have been doing double duty all week...I have to admit I snuck a peak at the Med rates for kids free, and considered it a minute..after 2 cruises in 3 months, I actually don't want to cruise for a while:confused3 Great to see everyone had as great a time as I:goodvibes

Our back yard is still over 3 foot high. But our halloween decorations are up. Ok well some of them are. We have a graveyard with 3 Haunted Masion tombstones. A Mickey vampire, a Tink witch, and some Disney Pumpkins. We will be adding more soon. I will post some pictures as soon as I get around to it.

Elizabeth, I am so sorry to hear this. I understand what y'all are going through. We lost our Basset of 10 years last August, about a week after we got back from the beach. It's VERY hard to lose an animal that you love so much, especially one that you've had for so long. Like you, I am very glad that this didn't happen while you were on the ship. So sorry to hear about Savannah. Losing a "family member" is really tough.

I have two long haired miniature dachshunds. My oldest, Schnitzel (as in weiner schnitzel) is 13 years old - and I dread the day when I have to say goodbye to her.
My other pup, Tinkerbell, is 8 years old.

I have two sons and 3 grandchildren in the area - which is wonderul.
But my puppies are the ones that greet me when I come home - and love me unconditionally.
They truly are part of my "family"!

Again, my sympathies on the loss of Savannah :(

Well, I finally made it back onto the boards and wow you guys have been busy. I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone, it was so lovely to meet you all (although I didn't get to put all the faces to names that I would have liked and my big apologies if I saw you around and forgot your name). I couldn't have met a nicer bunch of people and I feel very blessed to have made such lovely friends.

Well we didn't arrive home until Tuesday and I guess it's a combination of jetlag and post holiday blues as we are all sick, but good news is that we have next year to look forward to as I have rebooked for myself and the kids. They don't know yet though, so will have to try and keep that a surprise. We rebooked onboard for next October on the Wonder. I would like to go on another 7 night but won't have the time unfortunately.

Elizabeth I am so very sorry to hear about your news, but relieved for you that you made it home in time and you had the opportunity to be with her.

Well as soon as I learn how to upload my photos I will start putting them up, but just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope you all enjoyed the cruise as much as we did.

Rose is the Nurse Manager of an orthopedic floor of Baptist Hospital Jacksonville. The new all this week is covering how joint replacement surgery and recovery occurs. And the News followed a group of patients through their surgery to physical therapy starting the day after surgery to release within the week. Rose was interviewed several times during the hour program and narrated much of the rest of it. Then the next day she has to man the phone bank on the evening news to answer public questions about joint replacement therapy.

We are going with my folks, my 2 brothers and their respective wives and children. We are doing 5 days at the parks before we do a 3 night on the Wonder. Should be great, as my 2 brothers have been to Disneyland, but not WDW or a cruise. Can't wait!

Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear things aren't great. :sad2: When we got home I went from a jet-lag to a cold to just yucky. :sick: I think it was withdraws from endless fun and food on the Magic.

We're thinking about taking the Wonder up the West Coast (Repo LA-Vancouver 5-day 4/27/2011) or Inaugural Alaska (7-day, 5/2/2011). We are also very interested in the inaugural trip on the Dream. We're waiting to hear when that is - Jan or Feb 2011?? I have the 10/29 webcast blocked out on my Outlook calendar at work :woohoo:

I wanna cruise again. We make many trips to the World. I think we have 4 or 5 for the next 6-8 months.

I just looked at the reviews here on the DIS to make my mind up which resort, and of course looked at the site and the info link too. There wasn't too much difference that I could tell by the look of things. I can't wait to hear what the prices are. I've been reading the DIS thread about today's webcast. The Platinum and Gold Castaway Club members get to book on Nov 2. There will be a DIS thread posting prices as people get quotes as there was for the release of the Wonder's West Coast cruises. That gives the rest of us a week to guess what will be left and for how much (the prices went up as the week went by). We may stick with the Wonder...hard to tell 'til we get prices and DVC point charts. :confused3

I've been a little absent on the boards lately. We booked the April Transatlantic, but have cancelled and resceduled to go on the Panama Canal cruise next January. Geoffrey was bummed, but there were too many things popping up that could be potential problems and who wants that when you are going on a 14 day cruise.

We haven't booked a cruise on the Dream, but we do have a 7 day eastern booked for Thanksgiving 2011.

On the homefront, I have been training for the Disney Goofy (1/2 marathon on Saturday and full marathon on Sunday). I'm beginning to think that I am Goofy for taking on this challenge. Today I was supposed to run 16, but I ran out of time before work and only made it 15. We will see what the next few weeks bring.

By the way Geoffrey is supposed to be running with me and he hasn't taken a step outside!!!:confused3 He turned 40 a few weeks ago and I guess is not feeling his age and thinks he can just hop on out there. I'm sure he will do just fine.

We're booked for the Dream around the same time you'll be on the Magic. I got some grief from my boss about planning my trips so far in advance because of work and stuff so I figured around holiday time is always safe to take off. We're on the 11/27/11, I figured we'd might as well go for Asher's birthday (he'll turn 3 DURING that cruise so we pay only taxes for him and he should still be able to go to the clubs). :wizard:

Wow, I had no idea that this thread was still going!!! Mike and I are cruising on the Wonder next month, then we have another 4-night booked on the Dream for Sept. 2011. The whole crew's going with us on the Dream--Mike, myself, Gayle, Gayle's husband Allen, their son Dustin, daughter Brandi and Brandi's boyfriend Brandon. Gayle and Brandi were the ones with us on the Magic last year. We're trying to talk my brother-in-law into going with us, but he works at the Corvette plant in Kentucky and can't really ask off for anything that far in advance.

I can't believe it's been almost a year since we all cruised together. It was definitely one of the best trips ever for us!
