For everyone that is leaving soon... have a wonderful time in WDW!
I can’t believe we are down to our last weekend to get ready and we do not have one thing packed yet and still have to finish up FE gift shopping/preparation!
DW just reminded me this morning she is supposed to head to Pittsburgh this weekend for a bridal shower all day Sunday. Great, one less weekend day to get things finished up!:scared:
I think the first afternoon we personally will have kids split between the Mickey and Goofy pool because of their mix of ages or desire to hit the slide! I will be keeping my eyes open for the green bracelets!
We should be arriving at Port between 10 and 10:30am- after a quick run to the local grocery. So keep an eye out for our grand arrival into the terminal!
I imagine many of us may run into each other at the terminal as we wait to cross through the giant mickey ears!
Sorry - I should have been clearer everyone. I was thinking Goofy pool since there's such a large span of ages in our group. Scott - you'll probably be seeing us at Mickey since my kids are so little.
I'm expecting to arrive at the Port between 9:30 and 10 on Saturday, so I'll be sure to bring the trumpeters to hail everyone else's arrival!!

Man I wish I was leaving for the world but I still have 4 more days of work left. I wish all of you safe travel and we will see ya on the 9th at the port!
We will be there about 9:30-10am also, we want to see if we can upgrade at the port.
Attention All:
8 Days and we will be Sailin' on the Magic!!!

Hopefully they won’t make you stand outside too long if you end up there closer to 9:30.
I am going to push for an earlier pickup time as I know I will be up nice and early along with the kids Saturday AM. Just not sure I can convince DW and MIL to get up and not spend all morning getting ready.

Just have ants in my pants every time we are cruisin' and I want to get there asap! Depending on how much we are delayed in the morning, I may just cancel the grocery stop to make up "my time". :rolleyes1

What are you trying to upgrade to? I am interested in what the upgrade from Cat. 6 to a Suite would cost at port. Called TA and she said they had 1BR suites available but would be something like $3k additional :scared1: Not sure if there would be a deep discount at the port? It would have to be at least 1/2 that amount for us to consider it.

What grocery store were you planning to visit? Do they sell wine/ beer at the grocery store? I know there have been tons of posts about this, but I always thought ... "I will worry about that when the time is closer" Guess what? Time is now officially closer :cool1: Unfortunately I put off many items on my "to do" list and am now in panic mode :sad2:

We want a window or verenda... I know that they still have rooms because when I check our cruise date with our family 2A 2C they are still offering 9, 8, 6, 5, 4. so I hope that we will get a good deal at port. But if not then we will be happy with what we have!

Wow! Thanks Scottie!!
I just did a quick search on the Publix/Target sites and it looks like the Publix in the area do not have a liquor store inside, but maybe they may still carry some stuff on the shelf or in the fridge area? The Target on Crockett Blvd showed it has wine available.

I usually carry hand santizer in my purse, but with the liquid restristions with flying, I went to our local dollar store and bought some smaller sizes to travel with. I think that we will all be hand santizing freaks while on the ship! We have 4 confirmed cases of the swine flu here in Nova Scotia. Some private school kids were in Mexico.

I'm running out to the store immediately for wipes. If anyone here is still trying to decide on facemasks or not, check out this article. Basically, just wash your hands consistently...the facemasks carry risks for very minimal return: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/swine-flu-information/5258672/Swine-flu-prevention-tissues-catching-germs-vaccination-and-masks.html
Let's just all NOT cough on each other...and use basic hygiene! :thumbsup2

I may put some of our Clorox wipes at home in a Ziploc baggie and take them on the plane to wipe down the hard surfaces around our sons seat... he loves to touch/play with everything.
And no worries about sanitizing on the ship right before meals... they are going to make sure you do it any time you show up at one of the restaurants!

If you really want to try for an upgrade you could consider canceling the DCL transfers and hiring a towncar service instead. For four people it may even be cheaper.

Hey gang, I had one other possible meet idea. For those who wish to dine in the sit-down restaurants for lunch (Parrot Cay, is it?) on At Sea days, how about picking a time like 1pm and if any Disers want to meet to eat lunch together, they can meet outside the restaurant and then go in together? This is nothing to commit to but just to keep in mind if you are planning on going there around that time for lunch. Just keep an eye out for wristbands in front of the restaurant.
Honestly, we really are leaving soon. I just snuck home early to do all our last minute things.
I had a scare this morning. I went to pack up all of my bathroom things. I was going to put two extra pairs of contacts in our bag when I discovered I was out! I'm due for changing the pair in my eyes as it is so I really sprung a few more grey hairs.
I called the optometrist this morning and he said I've got a really complicated prescription and we can't get it locally for a few days. Fortunately, he is able to ship them directly to Animal Kingdom Lodge to have waiting for us shortly after check-in. I'll be relieved when they get there! I would hate to be to worried to enjoy swimming or snorkeling.
Moral of the story...check all your prescriptions or anything you don't want to have run out while you are there right now!
Okay, now I'm leaving. See you on the Mickey boat! I'll be the guy with the dumb grin, farmer's tan, and foofy girly drink in hand.

Yeah..I was thinking about that, but then again, I believe we're only paying for 2 ppl for DCL transfers since my 2 kids are under 3.
Ahh..it's okay. I'll be fine with a window. Not upgrading will mean more money to spend on other things. ;)
Thanks so much though! :)

The stomach flu has made it's way through our house!! For the last 3 weekends someone has had the stomach flu. This weekend was my self and my 8 year old daughter. We were the last two to get it. I hope that all of the sickness is gone now! We fly out on Friday morning at 630 am and do not want any of us to be sick! Plus, they wouldn't let us on the boat, they may think we have the swine flu!!

Just got done packing the FE gift bags up... took a whole carry on size suitcase! Guess we can use that same suitcase to bring stuff back in.
I just need to find a new gift for the four youngest FE groupies, as the one DW picked up I fear may be too big for some FE pockets and dont want to worry about placing it on the floor and someone walking away with it- not that that being placed in an FE is equal to being 100% protected.

Okay - LUCKY! Nat and I would have loved to see Wolverine, but with my family and the caregivers staying here while we're gone to take care of my mom, we had to clean our house for company...I'm still not packed and I did NOTHING but clean and pack this weekend!
Not fair. How was the movie?
Scottie - I just started getting concerned about my FE gift as well...It's not going to fit in the pockets so I'm pretty sure I'll have to come up with an ingenious way of gifting it...
Did I say ingenious? Uh-oh - I may not be able to give them out after all...

Well my nightmare has come true... DW finally started packing this evening and when I walked in I noticed our two 29" cases already full. Silly me I thought it had everyones but mine in there, only to find out it was just two kids and a tiny bit of DWs stuff... YIKES! I reminded her we are only using two other 24" suitcases and thats it for clothing. I think we may use a garment bag for our dressy stuff (if there is someplace to store it on the plane as a carry on) plus the suitcase for the FE gifts I have packed and a duffel bag for misc stuff like shoes, makeup etc.

We are feeling better. But this means I am down 2 days of productivity. I will now have to cram the 6 days I had into the 4 I have left!!!:scared1:
I have tons of cleaning and laundry to get done. I have the majority of the packing done.
I am just dreading having to get the kids up at 4am Friday to got to the airport. I have a funny feeling my son will not be the most pleasant. Oh well, we all Know that the will all be little darlings on the Mickey Boat?!

I also thought it was a great movie. I have liked Hugh Jackman since I first heard him playing Gaston. I was also happy to see Taylor Kitch from my favorite TV show, Friday Night Lights in a great part (Gambit). But I thought it was a bit interesting that Ryan Reynolds and Domonic Monoghan (sp?) both had parts that were killed off early on. Funny to have some fairly big actors in small parts. I was really impressed that they found someone to play the young Scott who REALLY looked like a young James Marsden.
Really enjoyed the film. I now wish I could figure out how to see Star Trek the Friday before we leave. It looks like the 1130 show at AMC Pleasure Island is either sold out of for some other reason not available online.

The one time we went to a beach off the ship (in Nassau) we did grab some towels near the pool and put them in our bag before heading down stairs to exit the ship. We plan to do the same for our St Thomas day. We may actually grab them the night before this time so we are ready to go in the morning.
I think I also read if you are doing a beach excursion booked thru DCL they sometimes have towels waiting for you where you gather to head out... just not sure this is all the time.

I don't think East Dillon will actually open...you know...with the economy and all. I don't see how the school district will be able to afford it. I have about 3/4 of my packing done. I went bathing suite shopping last night (we wont go there!!!). Have a few little things to still pick up but we should be done by Thursday night LOL.. We did get a good surprise this morning at about 6:30am. I was woke up today by a loud bang on the front door. When I opened it there stood a very chipper Fed Ex Lady who looked at me and said in a very chipper voice " IS someone waiting on a pass port!!??" She then asked where we were going and when we leave and had me sing for it. I think she had about 10 cups of coffee today!! Anyway we have all our passports now!!! I was so worried about this you just have no clue. Work has been super crazy for me this week. I think when they know that you are going on a trip they come up with fifty million projects for you to do to see how stressed they can make you before you leave. My plans tonight are to finish my FE gifts and get them packed, clean the house and up load all the pics on the camera to the computer so I can clear the memory card. I also need to charge the camera and camcorder. get all that stuff packed up. I still have to pack for my son who will be staying with my mom well me are gone. Man I still have a lot to do.

Got the transfer all set to Port, assuming we don’t cancel the grocery stop. Our driver is supposed to be at the Hyatt MCO by 8:40am to help us pile the luggage and our bodies into the vehicle. We figure with leaving the Hyatt by 9am and doing a water/juice box run near port, we should arrive at the terminal around 10am. That is earlier then I originally planned so I am happy.

As for the DVR's! I have a Comcast Cable DVR and it is truely the best invention on the planet. I have no idea how people got through life without one before. I use the Airplane Ears everytime I fly. I picked me up some this week for our flight on Friday am. My ears use to hurt really bad when I fly, but someone told me about them I went to Walmart bought a pair and my ears haven't bothered me since....
The time is getting really close for us to leave and I can't wait. this is my last full day of work. I am only working a half day tomorrow i have alot of little things to do before we leave out of New Orleans on Friday am. See ya'll all on Saturday....
Disney Kricket
Thanks for the info... I will head over now to see if I can pick up a pair or two!
I am out of the office at 3pm tomorrow so I can get the grass mowed and a hair cut- plus all the other packing I failed to do finished!

We have all of our errands done for the trip. Hubby is at the bank right now getting our Canadian money changed over into the US funny money. The exchange is going to kill us. Oh well, we will make do. All of the suitcases are packed, with the exception of the last minute stuff. Now all we have to do is wait until Friday morning. The time could not drag on any slower.
It is raining here today and will be until Monday. I surely hope we don't get rain while we are away. But we will have a blast no matter what we do, or what the weather.
See everyone soon.

So, I just got our boarding passes for Southwest. We leave in 24 hours. YEAH! Bags are 98% packed and only the last minute items need to be added. I just hope I can get my DD to sleep tonight. She's been very active the last 2 nights. Can't wait to see everyone. We will definitely have our green braclets on starting Friday.

Well tonight will be a big packing night for me. I have to get most everything done tonight because the hubby has to work in Miami at 5 am on Friday. That means it's early to bed tomorrow so I won't be able to pack in the room. More Laundry to do and lots of clothing choices to make. I am getting so excited. I can't believe it is soooo close. I was hoping to stay at WDW on Sat night after the cruise, but I think we will be heading home instead. I will be back the following Friday to meet with Friends so I will get my park fix the next weekend.

:wave2:List us on the roll call...We are still stuck at home!
*We fly out of Columbus Friday at 1:20pm
*DWs mom also flys out of Ft Myers at the same time
*We land at MCO at 3:30pm and DWs mom lands at 2:10pm... then we head into the Hyatt MCO for some R&R by the pool
*Our pickup Saturday is at 8:40am with a quick grocery stop then off to the terminal!
I zipped the FE suitcase shut about 10 minutes ago so that is finally done! The kids clothes are all packed and DW is 90% packed. I have almost everything picked out, but very little of it packed. We will get everything finished tomorrow night I guess!
We also need to pack up the dog tomorrow to drop her off with a friend to watch while we are gone.

Mouse and family safely ensconced at the Lake Buena Vista Resort here at beautiful Downtown Disney! Got here in time to go to Hollywood Studios and buy annual passes (yes, we're committing to additional trips this year!!) and get pics taken with Woody and Buzz. Pre-purchased our double stroller rental to save a few additional dollars on Thursday/Friday. Then returned to our 14th floor room to catch the IllumiNations fireworks at Epcot from on high. Got an unexpected treat when we discovered that it is a perfect vantage to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks at the same time! What a cool way to start the vacation. Tomorrow is MK, followed by AK and Epcot on Friday. (Likely to only do the safari, treks and Everest at AK before heading over to Epcot for some Nemo and world travel.) See you guys soon! And if you see a frazzled father of 3 girls wearing a green bracelet, it's me...say hi!!

Hi all - I can't believe how sleepy I am since I have been home. We had an "uneventful" trip home today - 9 hours worth. As some of you know, my mom is at my house taking care of YachtSea, our poodle. She had dinner ready when we got home. (Not quite as nice as Disney, but at least I didn't have to cook it.) Then I dropped right off to sleep. I have not unpacked a thing. Oh well.

We had a fabulous time and my grandmother (who has been about every line) Says that this was one of the best cruises and food that she has ever had. I got to meet a few of you but I wish that I could have gotten to meet more.
The FE exchange was a blast and I think that it went really well. Thanks to everyone for your hard work and thoughtfulnesss in your gifts. I loved coming back and finding all the gifts at the end of the day,
Well I am at Kadani Village tonight even though we planning on driving back tonight. We were both really tired after taking my grandmother to the Sanford airport and getting up so early.

Tell Cal that I'll email him that pin information I told him about. I sure had a super time and my daughter left the ship looking happy and healthy ... the best she has looked in over a year!! It did her a world of good and of course that made me very happy. She loved the Disney cruise so much that she is planning to come east again next March for another one. My husband and I will be on the Magic again in September and October and I can't wait.
Off to the BC for work this morning ... now it's my turn to make everybody's Disney vacation magical!

we are sad to no longer be on the ship! We had a blast! This was our first 7 night cruise and we were so impressed with the staff and service!
The French in-laws had a fantastic time. The staff on the Magic did a wonderful job at making them feel at home. We had French speaking servers, French speaking staff in the kid clubs, a special galley tour in French, and the chef even came out to speak to us one night! They were very impressed. There was hardly no language barrier. They even enjoyed the theater shows, despite not understanding the words. They knew the tunes to the songs and it was enough. The only issues I had were nudity a couple times (the adults understood to be modest in front of Americans, but the kids never) and a couple times when they tended to talk over someone giving a presentation because they didn't understand the person was giving a presentation and not just chatting with people.
The kids loved the Fish Extender gifts (and so did we) and couldn't get over all the goodies. Thanks so much to everyone for their generousity! I'm so glad we signed up. After having been through it once now, I now understand it better. We will do it again next time.
I hope everyone else had a great time, as well!

Hi Everyone,
We finally got home after a 15 hour drive. Nice to be home and see the kitties.
It was great to meet so many nice people. The FE's were very cool....even if I did finish ours on board! My parents had a blast, and my dad - Brent - enjoyed our server - Mehendra - calling him the cruise director the whole cruise.
Ok going to procrastinate, then get something washed for the girls to wear to school tomorrow.
We miss you all already! Let's do it again soon!!!!
Take care,

Well we finally have most of the unpacking and laundry done. It was pretty depressing but helped that we had a couple of new music CD's to help out. :thumbsup2
Thanks to everyone for the awesome FE gifts. Some of you are waaayyy to crafty. :worship: The kids (young and grownup) got a big kick out of seeing the new pirate booty each day.
I also apologize for switching Ka-chow and our room numbers. :sad2: What a putz, I hope it didn't cause too much confusion. Rest assured that everyone received their proper gifts.
It was great to meet the people we did and wish we could have met more.
Steve (1stime74) : I still have the cigar, but I guess it will be a little difficult to set up a smoke session now. I will get you on the next trip. ::yes::
Josie (vtinkerbell) : Thanks for the glow bracelets on pirate night. :thumbsup2
Steve (airtime247) : Thanks again for the website work. We saw a group of CC 5k'ers but I didn't spot you. Did you end up running?

It's over, it's really all over. The kids, okay all of us are missing the ship. It was our very first cruise and now can't wait to go back. My oldest daughter had some tears on Friday night while we were packing up to leave the ship. We told her that we will be back and very soon.
I want to thank everyone for the great FE gifts that we received. The kids enjoyed checking everytime we came back to the room.
The bracelets were a great way to locate people from the DIS. Wish we could have met more people, but the ones we met were fabulous.
Now I just have to the dreaded part of unpacking and laundry. But first I need groceries so we have food to eat for the week.
Hope to keep chatting to you all. Thanks for all of the tips and advice for a cruise newbie. It really helped make our cruise alot better. I'm sure there will always be questions because Disney is forever changing.
Anyone book onboard? If so when are you going?

Good Morning everyone,
I was at the grocery store this morning and Phil Collins' "Welcome" came on and I almost started balling......so pathetic. When I see anything Disney my eyes glaze over and I am on the ship. Wish we were all still there. I had to call Gerry at work and tell him and he agrees - I am pathetic.
Later,

We booked onboard for a 4 night Bahama cruise on the Disney Wonder for November 14, 2010 :cool1: We plan to do a week at Disneyworld, get exhausted and then RELAX on the cruise! We had such a blast on this past cruise. I'm sure I'll probably re-book again while on the 4 night for another cruise :thumbsup2

Take care,
Bonnie, Gerry, Morgan and Emma (and Lorraine and Brent)
We all made it home safely. Got in late last night & was raining & cold, oh boy I really wanted to go back.To bad it wasn't for 2 weeks now that would of been really great. It's nice to get away but always nice to get home too. Met some very nice people, the bracelets were a great thing. The FE were a great idea. My grchildren thought that sooooo cool & so did I. Like everything all good things come to an end. But I sure hope everyone will keep this thread alive, its great just talking with you all. This was my first disney Cruise but it certainly won't be my last.
Thanks again for helping me make my dream vacation the best ever & I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Hey everyone, I'm just checking in from the Boardwalk Villas. We are getting hit with a lot of rain so we are calling it an early night.
We are definitely ready to go home but we won't be leaving until Wednesday morning. We are having fun but after more than two weeks since leaving home, we are ready to get back to a normal schedule and normal eating!
I'm still kicking myself for forgetting to pack our green wristbands. I'm sure I would have met a lot more people had I been wearing mine. I guess I wasn't very observant as I hardly noticed anyone wearing one during the week. I was really looking forward to meeting so many of you and I'm bummed I missed out. :guilty: It was so nice to meet the few of you I did have the pleasure of meeting.
MouseNDaHouse - It was such a blast getting to know you and your family. Your girls are adorable and Emma loved them and still talks about "her friends" from the Mickey Boat. Thanks for the great dinner conversation and fun at Castaway Cay as well as brews at the pub while being blasted by the gut-busting, rib-tickling, knee-slapping comedy. I'll be sending you those pictures of Castaway Cay when I get home. We'll definitely be keeping in touch.
1stime74 - It was great getting to know you and Josie as well. Thanks for letting us set up camp with you at Coki Beach. Emma had so much fun feeding the fish with Josie. Emma really adored her and asked about her a lot after we left.
j2bmickey - Yes, I did run (okay, crawled) the Castaway Cay 5K. It was fun but much harder than I expected. I'm not used to running in temps warmer than 50 degrees so it was tough on me. I'm sure the few extra pounds I put on the last two weeks didn't help either! It was nice getting back to my cabin later that night and finding the Magical Moments certificate wating in my FE for completing it.
To everyone else, thank you so much for your generous FE gifts. You have no idea how excited Emma got every night seeing something in our FE.
Keep in touch everyone!

Well, made it back to Texas after a very WET morning at the Magic Kingdom today. Still was able to get a good ride in on Splash and Thunder this morning, but did not get to see the new Stitch show in the weather.
It was great meeting at least a few of you guys! I know we had a blast. Now I just have to figure out when my next cruise will be...

Hi all,
I'm sorry it took me so long to write back 'officially' to everyone. Just been slammed here.
First, I want to say thank you to all of you for the wonderful FE gift exchange. I knew that it would add something to our trip, but I was thrilled each and every time by the reactions of my two oldest. You all gave me indelible memories of squeals of delight and huge eyes. Big props especially for the wonderful crafted pieces, the terrific CDs and the amazing array of goodies and notes from home states and countries. The care and attention you each paid was truly staggering. And for the many wonderful pirate gifts...please join me in a collective AAARRRGGGHHH, me hearties!
Second, I do hope we can find ourselves cruising together again sooner than later. I am so sorry that we weren't able to get a group meet together, but those green bracelets certainly came in handy. In case anyone is considering their next cruise (Don, sorry we won't be on yours!), we have already slotted ourselves in on the June 18, 2010 Wonder 4-night Bahamas...join us!
Finally, let me send my individual props to those who made our time extra-special:
Steve and Amy (Airtime) - Your company at dinner was always a blessing and Emma is a doll. You are welcome in our home any time...just try to make sure that we're there at the same time so we don't get suspicious that you're going after the electronics. We're so glad that we all got to share Nebojsa and Igor with you! I'm looking forward to our families staying in touch and sharing many experiences together in future! You have my number, man, call me!
Scottie - Thank you for all the great advice and assistance leading up to the cruise - everything you said always turned out to be right and your help was invaluable in getting the most out of our cruise...and making this dad's life infinitely easier. AND thanks for joining me as we Primary Grinders led Canada II to victory over Stars n' Stripes! We HAVE to do that again! Don't lose my info, bro!
Steve (1stime) - Short but sweet - It would have been great to meet you guys earlier as your kind spirit came through in the short time we talked. Thank you for helping keep my wife upright on her way back to the ship from Castaway Cay - she really appreciated it as she fought off that singularly rough bout of food poisoning. You're a gentleman.
Jen (NotSoChubbyJen) - Thank you for sharing your space and time with us on the Cay - Brandon was a huge part of Hannah and Sarah's enjoyment that day (along with Emma) and I'm so glad we got to meet you guys. I hope we can share some childcare in the future!
Rominet, Dilma, EnchantedNana, DollysMom, Don - Thank you to you and your families for the greetings and smiles. How cool would it be to actually get to know each other better on the next cruise...maybe when my kids are older and require less time from mommymommymommy and daddydaddydaddy!
Last but not least - Bonnie (Moebear) - We are totally gonna hang out and mock people in the future. 'Nuff said. (And if you can hook me up with some black and white cookies, I'll be forever indebted to you!)
To all the rest that I barely met (DisneyMommy, thanks for all the input prior to the cruise; NMDisneyMom) and wished I could have met (Yensid - what was that like 3 gifts a day?? - you and your buddies rocked; CWO4DVC - we were only like 6 doors down! Met your son Tyler. Both my wife and I commented that he is a great 11 year old boy; and pretty much EVERYONE else) thank you and maybe we'll get to know each other better next time!
Much love,

I know our family had a GREAT time onboard meeting our DIS friends (sorry we didn’t get to meet everyone :sad1:) and the FE exchange was a blast... thanks for all the great gifts!
Kristen, was it you that switched rooms? I hope you got our gift bag that we put on your original room number a day or two before we found out you changed rooms.
We had always been on 3/4 night DCL cruises and now are not sure we can ever go back to those after the fun and relaxation of 7 nights on the ship!! It felt like a 2 week vacation to me as I totally lost track of the date and time.
We had a couple of days at WDW after, that didn’t turn out so magical (due to a visit from my wife’s bro) but that’s a long story!:headache:
We booked again onboard and won the $100 onboard booking credit they spoke about prior to Tuesday night!!!!
We booked a dummy 7 night cruise for the end of 2010, but have full intentions to flip to a 2011 7 night cruise when those dates are announced. Likely will do the cruise sometime between May and July 2011. We hope the new ship will be doing the 7 night sailings in 2011. If not, there is a slight chance we will kick the reservation to 2012 when the second ship arrives at Port Canaveral.
Jeremy, the excursion was top-notch and I had a blast! Still not sure why I never ran into you guys at the Mickey pool but had no problems everywhere else on the ship?! No worries, we will keep in touch!
Jen, Make sure to come on our next cruise so Meghan has someone her age again to chill with in the clubs! She was so happy to have Mariah onboard!
Allison and Bonnie, Morgan loved meeting Kennedy and Morgan and having some time with them in the clubs!
Don, I couldnt believe how many times we ran into each other on the ship!
Thanks again to everyone for helping to make this our best Disney Cruise ever!
We would love to have all our DIS pals join us for our next cruise! The FE is hanging in the closet ready for its next adventure!

Hi All -
I have taken off my bracelet and have not had time to unload all "the bounty" from the FE gifts. That was so fun. Each day Cal would say, "Let's go check and see if we got any "Bling." That was the word of the week.
Anyone else thinking, "Oh, last week at this time I was walking around St. Thomas or St. Maarten, or on the ship, or eating dinner, or ...?" I find myself doing it each day.
I bought some great Crocs sandals in St.Thomas. (Cal also became a huge CROCS fan.) I have gotten great complements and a friend of mine at work has found them on sale online. So...now I am ordering another pair but black this time.
I am ready to go back. I think I need to sell our house, retire and just live on the ship. HAHAHA!

I want to thank everyone for the neat FE gifts! There were so many creative and neat gifts, and the FE exchange greatly enhanced our cruise experience! Every time we came back to our stateroom, we looked forward to checking our bag. I am already planning my gifts for next time ;)
I am sorry I didn't get to meet more of you in person; things were so hectic and it seemed like every second of our day was planned with something! Next time we will definitely take some time just to relax and walk around the ship and notice what's going on around us :) (One thing we can definitely skip next time is the ship orientation tour, since we know our way around now ;))
How do you handle the post-cruise letdown? For so long, this was the primary thing on our minds, and all my free time was devoted to planning and reading the DISboards. Now, we have to wait 17 months until our next one! Do you also find it hard to read the DISboards and hear about others whose trips are coming up, but yours is over?

I know what you mean. I still haven't gone to the store yet to replenish the food supply and there is nothing there. All I think is where are my boys to bring me something fabulous to eat? LOL!!!
So I have to ask, did you finally retrieve your little ones or are they still on the ship in the kids clubs? They were both so cute and we really enjoyed meeting all of you. I wish we were all ther sharing dinner space again right now.
My Nannie loved every minute of the cruise and that was a wonderful thing. She has been every other cruise line and she the service and most of all the food were the best she has had. That is saying alot coming from her. She has always been a fan of Princess!

We also booked the dummy date for the 7 night in Dec 2010. We would like to do the Wonder 5 day double dip, but I think we are aiming for returning to the College World Series next year and that would be too much traveling in a short span (And more important, not enough vacation days at work). We will probably do like Scott and see what the 2011 sailings look like.
I'm not sure about a trip report this time, although some members of my crew think I should. There won't be as much to talk about this time since we did a lot more relaxing.

So, we arrived back in New Mexico to wind and 68 degrees last Saturday. We were all ready to turn back to Florida. Keep wondering where our beautiful weather was (I know, Castaway Cay! :rotfl2:) Laundry is almost done but still haven't managed to put away all the wonderful FE gifts. Hannah loved checking the pockets everytime we returned to the cabin. I will say, neither myself nor my friend got any of the chocolate or other goodies! I'm ready to begin planning the next vacation, but I think this time we are headed back to Disneyland. I want to wait a couple years before our next cruise. It may take me that long to scrapbook all the pictures I took (last count was over 900).
I really enjoyed meeting all of you that I got to (which was far too few):
Kristin - your girls were a God send, Hannah really loved playing with both of them, and then running into each other in the airport, a great way to end our trip.
Debi & Cal - we loved getting to know you both! And yes, I'll try and get Lynette on the boards soon!
And a special bonjour goes out to a little girl named Lilou - it seemed we ran into her and her mommy every where we were (including the Orlando airport on the way home!) That smile sure brightened the day.
Hope to cruise with all of you again in the future. If anyone plans a trip to Albuquerque, give me a shout.

I'm still wearing mine - mainly because the Jamaican color combination with my Livestrong bracelet is jah irie, mon.
I have decided to write a trip report, but won't post until it's complete. I wouldn't want it to tail off after hooking you all in with my wit and wisdom...that would be evil.
Expect it early next week as I'll try and finish it this weekend.

I think I am going to check myself into rehab because trying to come down off the high of our most magical cruise yet is way too hard on me! Seriously, I don’t think there is any way I will be able to not cruise in 2011:sick: I thought we may do 2012 instead but I don’t think I can hold out. It’s a sweet drug DCL has invented I tell ya'!
I almost caved when I saw the onboard credit offer DCL just announced for this summer and booked a short cruise for DW and myself. Luckily (not so much) DW reminded me how much we just spent on the last one so I held off! :rolleyes1

We arrived home to Vermont last night after another great (but very wet but that is why they invented ponchos) week at WDW. My wife's best friend flew down from Vermont to spend the week with us.
We had a great time and really enjoyed the FE gifts. Some of you are WAY to talented.:thumbsup2
Although we didn't get a chance to meet all of you, we had a great time with the other famous Steve :rolleyes1 and I know my DW had a lot of fun handing out the glow sticks on Pirates Night.
We booked the 14 day repo cruise next April. Just couldn't resist. We are taking advantage of the $99.00 bounce back offer that we recieved in February going on the 3 day on November 19th. Not sure I can go another 6 months without my Disney fix, but I'll make the best of it.
Take care and have a wonderful summer.

Anyone ever stay in the sideways staterooms? Know which rooms they are?

I never have but a friend did a few years ago. I believe they are all on decks 5 and 6 forward. They are all inside cabins if I'm not mistaken.
We're finally getting caught up with everything at home and work. I'm not going to lie, I took a liking to just getting up and leaving the restaurants without paying. I haven't tried that since we got home but I suspect it wouldn't be as accepted as on the Magic. ;) I'm also curious to try standing up, shouting, and twirling my napkin over my head at the local Denny's.
I've also been really disappointed to return home every evening to not find any cool gifts but only bills and credit card applications.
We didn't book a cruise while onboard and we may wait a couple of years before booking on a Disney ship again. There is nothing better in our experience but the cost and limited itineraries make it tough. We will probably do a 4 or 7 night Royal Caribbean (I know, blasphemous) here on the west coast to save some $$$ and make sure Emma will actually stay in the kids' clubs before we sail with Disney again. I'm also really itching to sail Alaska again.

Just thought I would post a post cruise hello!
We had a fantastic time, seems everyone else did too! Sorry we didnt meet many of yous, maybe because we spent most of our time quietly chilling in Adult's area or Sessions. We had late dining and seemed to be always last out as we chatted a lot! And kept forgetting to wear our green bands, kept taking them off for formal photos as they didnt match my dresses too well, then forgetting to put them back on!:sad1:
A quick thanks to the 2 families who left us little gifts even though we had chosen not to paticipate in the FE. It was a lovely gesture and we were well touched. Thanks to both.
We have booked the Western 14n Transatlantic in Sept 2010 and are looking forward to that. The main planning challenge appears to be one way transatlantic air fares, so far very scary looking :scared1:
Loads of photos to sort through, its taking forever! I will eventually upload to my Facebook and Photobucket. Have scanned our Shutters pics already, they are always so well done aren't they!
Thanks to everyone for the company in the planning stages, you were a great group! :goodvibes
I might get around to a trip report if I have time, and will certainly enjoy reading everyone else's!:surfweb:
We certainly had very few if hardly any few grumbles about the whole experince, and it well met our expectations absoulutely in every way. Cant wait for a next time
Regards
Lyn and Bob

I hear you about pricing. We did book onboard with plans to do a 7-night cruise in 2011. However, when the pricing comes out later this year we will have to see what it looks like. If they bump up pricing a lot more then we just paid, we may opt for a Royal Caribbean cruise.

I almost caved when I saw the onboard credit offer DCL just announced for this summer and booked a short cruise for DW and myself. Luckily (not so much) DW reminded me how much we just spent on the last one so I held off! :rolleyes1
I am with you on this. We were actually looking at the options with and without children. In the end, common sense and credit card bills convinced us to wait.:sad1:

So I have made an attempt to start a trip report. I am not feeling as motivated as Jeremy and will therefore post in pieces. Feel free to stop by and make any comments or corrections.

Ha - motivated?? :)
I only wish!
I got several pages in and then ended up back at work...and really busy. I'm trying to do a bit each day, but sheesh.
Anyway, great start to your trip report man! Can't wait to see if we make it back to port safely! ;)
Keep it up!

Don, Steve, Sid - Happy anniversary to us all. I'm getting on the Wonder in 5 weeks...same stateroom there, too! Can't wait!
Our cruise last year was terrific and I sure hope that we can all enjoy time together again in future...maybe on the Dream!!
Best,
J
