Shauna, hope DD is feeling better soon! (and you get time to do the things you need to!)

Vickie, we all hope your tooth is fixed before we leave! :wizard:

Linda, hope your scan goes well, and you are ok!
!

Ditto on everything Melody said here. We need to get everyone fixed up and healthy before we get on this cruise. :goodvibes

I'n not normally paranoid about flus and such, but with the Swine Flu circling around me (neighbors, school) I'm a bit more worried about keeping the family healthy on the cruise, and in these days leading up to it. I'm hoping to at least get the kids vaccinated but supplies are still scarce.

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone that is not feeling well gets feeling better soon. Vicki good luck with getting your tooth fixed in time for the cruise. Linda hope your cat scan goes well.

Tim and I have gotten lots of stuff done and packages and surprises for Nathan have all come in. Tim and I are going away for the weekend to get some us time. Its been a crazy stessful time for us since we got married and want to spend some time together. I am excited about it.

Nathan asked me last night what we were going to do for this b-day. I told him we were going to stay home and play skip-bo. He looked so sad. So everytime he asked I said yes that is what we r doing. Then he asked well can I at least invite some friends? He said he wanted his 10th b-day to be special. My thoughts were yes it sure will be special Nate.:cutie:

Can't wait to tell him. It's killing me:upsidedow.

Have a good day everyone I will check back later.

Howdy all,

Its dumping buckets of rain today with thunder and lightning too.

Oh well tomorrow is suppose to be drier. I hope they are right.

We finished the door signs last night, so tonight hopefully we will get the shirt transfers printed off. Then tomorrow or the next day I hope to finish the shirts.
11 days until we leave!! Gotta keep with it!!

I know people have said but i have forgotton who will be at WDW before the cruise?

I know Traci is at CBR friday night.

Someone else was going to be at AK either thursday ro friday I think??

Just want to know who to keep my eyes open for.:goodvibes

We dont have an exact schedule but may wind up running into someone, if iz know who to watch for.
Best chance would be if someone is going to Downtown Disney in the evening. We may do that towards the end of the week.

Gotta run,
i have 2 more large suitcases to go through this morning then wash the clothes i keep out. Tomorrow is dedicated to iron all of them. Think i will sleep all day tomorrow. I hate to iron. Going without clothes is sounding better all the time:lmao:

Linda, hope your insurance meeting goes well. DH's open enrollment is right now so we need to sit down and figure things out for next year. No fun to see that we pay more for less every year.

Kathy, we are going to be at the new Kidani Village at AK Thurs and Fri night. Going into AK on Thurs and EPCOT on Fri. You may be able to spot the bright pink umbrella stroller with DD--that will be my hint.

Had a stamping class last night. A few didn't show so I have some extra birthday calendars to stamp. I want to get those done while the supplies are all still out, so I'll probably be finishing those up today instead of FEs. Bummer, I really wanted to work on the FEs but I want one more thing done and out of the way.

Hope everyone is feeling better. DD's birthday is next week, but I think we might postpone the party until after the trip. With everything going around, I don't want someone to come and make her (or us) sick just before we go. Especially right after she got over this.

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday. In 2 weeks I'll be doing the last minute packing. 2 weeks isn't very long.

Shauna, I will keep an eye out for you. Not sure which parks we will do on those days but i do think Epcot will be towards the end of the week, so I may see you.

Are you taking the DCL bus from AK to the port saturday?

We are catching it at noon on saturday at AK.

Relax? I suppose I could. We have some nice weather. I'd rather put off packing, and leave things for last minute, so I can freak-out then! It's fun though.

I knew I shouldn't have cleaned the house... I leave, and everyone posts. Just another reason to not have to do it. haha. :laundy:

I don't know if we are going to Disney before the cruise. We might, but it's up to him. We will probably be at the port around 8am though. We'll have our bracelets.

Sorry I am a pest I know it but I have a couple of questions.

Where do you put your passports/birth certificates when you leave the ship in port? Do you take it with you or leave it in the safe? Do you need it while in port?

And what do people wear to dinner not semi formal or formal?

TIA:flower3:

We are at BLT for 2 days before the cruise and my in-laws are at POFQ. I still have a lot of work to do for the FE and T-Shirts. Designs are done, but there is still a long way to go.

I read in some of the information regarding the cruise that we should bring copies of our passports to bring on shore with us but leave the originals on the ship. Did anyone else see that also?

Bonnie

LindaBabe
10-21-2009, 12:10 PM
We leave them on the ship. I suppose it couldn't hurt to bring copies to take ashore. Your photo id and key to the world are sufficient for re-entry, even to the pier in cases where it also is guarded.

stampinshauna
10-21-2009, 12:53 PM
We are renting a car and driving ourselves to the port.

I have heard that it is good to take copies of your passport ashore in case you miss the ship or something happens. You don't need them to get back on the ship, but if you have to fly home you'll need them, and even though you don't have the original, it makes things easier than not having anything. We leave the originals in our room safe. DH even suggested that we scan and email ourselves a copy of our travel docs so that we have them accessible in our email in case we need them.

Traci--I wear tropical skirts or capris to dinner on non-formal/semi-formal night. I have a few skirts that I call my cruise skirts and I hardly wear them at home, but they are fun to dress up in on the cruise. Then I just wear a plain t-shirt with them. To save on some luggage space, I decide what skirt I'm going to wear that night and I wear the shirt that goes with it during the day with shorts. DH usually wears khakis and a button up plaid shirt or tropical shirt or polo shirt.

Are any of you purchasing travel insurance not through DCL? We still need to. We want to have the medical coverage at least in case anything happens. I wish I could remember the company we bought it from last year. I went to insuremytrip dot com but there are so many choices it is overwhelming.

thanks shauna for the info. I wasnt sure if it was ok for Tim to wear nice jeans to dinner. Or Nate....do the kids have to get all fancy for dinner to?

I generally use InsureMyTrip.com to get quotes on the medical coverage - always worth the peace of mind to me. I don't trust that our health insurance will cover and DH is accident prone. We once had an ER visit right after a cruise (while at Downtown Disney) and the Hospital accepted the policy without any payment...and we never got a bill. It was awesome!

As for passports, yes generally a good idea to have copies but also keep in mind that on this cruise, we don't leave US Territory, except for Castaway. So, probably a much safer bet in not needing more than a standard ID to get back onboard. The regular Eastern cruises do leave the US - for St. Maarten. We're lucky with St. Croix because we won't even need to clear customs as they normally do.

Formal/Semi-Formal Nights - You will see everything on the ladies from pants to long gowns on Formal Night. For the men, everything from Dockers (khakis) to tuxes. In our travel party, we're split. I think 2 guys will be in tuxes; 2 in suits. For the ladies, we're all in fancy dresses, some short, perhaps some long. All the little girls will be in Princess dresses, the little boys will be some sort of suit. But, keep in mind, we're all going for some nice Holiday photos - and a RARE moment of everyone looking pretty!
Semi-Formal Nights are all over the board.
Always wear what makes you comfy and happy! It would be hard to be out of place with such a variety from all the guests. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is doing well. We got our docs last week :cool1::cool1: and just noticed that we received our wait list request for main dining. We had talked ourselves into late dining so we might actually switch back just to try something new. So far we are 2-2 receiving the waitlist requests, go Disney :cool1::cool1:. Sorry I haven't been posting much but school is driving me crazy. These professors seem to enjoy torturing us, lol. Can't believe its only two weeks from Saturday.

Traci,
we didnt decide for sure about the shirts last night. we got busy with finishing door signs and then it got really late. So we will deicde tonight.

I want to make them tomorrow so we do need to decide.

We also put all important papers and ID in the safe and leave it there. I know they do recommend taking a copy with you but we have never done that.

We usually dont purcahse their insurance. But if we wanted insurance I would shop around first because i have read many time how there are much better policies out here and less costly too.

Hi Mike, good to hear form you. I was beginning to wonder about you.;)

just so you know the port doesnt open up until 10 a.m. so if you arrive at 8 you'll have no place to go! Maybe go to Cocoa beach for breakfast?

They do have an extra lot they use for early arrivals to sit and wait but that isnt open until 9:30 or close to that.

Traci, I don't think we have ever used their insurance but I think Greg got insurance on our 14 day TA cruise in 2010 because alot can happen on that long a trip, especially since we have to fly to Spain to board.

Traci, I will look for you on the bus too but i know there is more than one bus. We should arrive within 10 to 15 minutes of each other at the port so we should be in the terminal at the same time.

we went to insuremytrip. I've always used them. you just pick the policy that covers the most (or most likely) for the price you are willing to pay. I've already insured our Panama Canal cruise, also.

I think he should bring something nicer than jeans for Formal night and palo. Palo likely would not let him in in Jeans.

Oh no...Tim plans on wearing a suit for formal and semi formal and khaki pants to palo. I was just wondering on the non-dress up nights can he wear nice jeans and a polo. he has no problem dressing up just wondered what others did.

BTW, I forget who was having the conversation, but there IS still time for linking reservations. I just called today because 2 of our staterooms were on main dining and 2 on second dining. Everyone has now been switched over to second dining and linked together.
Hope this change will help some of you that are waiting for first dining!

And, can we say HOORAY for the "Dine n Play" program, where the counselors come to the dining rooms to take the kids to Club/Lab?
NICE!:thumbsup2

Good evening!

Wow, you all have been busy posting. We like getting to the Port early. We did for our May cruise too. We met some nice people standing in line. It's not so bad.

Traci- we don't get the insurance. (I think it's overpriced, but looking into another company may be a good idea). It's up to you really.
I think it was Linda who said that DH told her to scan and e-mail it to yourself, thats a good idea, I didn't think of that. All you need to get back onboard is your ID, and key to the world card. All your passport info. is with them, because you had to submit it before hand.
For the dress-up nights (formal/ semi-formal) we go all out. Lots of people dress up, but for the main dining room, some people still wear shorts and a t-shirt. You won't be out of place no matter what you wear. Even the kids get in on the dressing up. It's all up to what you feel comfortable in. It's a vacation. If you do dress up, there are some good places to get pictures taken with the characters all dressed up too. So, that might be good if you want those pics.

Hi everyone

I think I will stay out of the medical insurance conversation... ;)
Actually we do need coverage when travelling out of the country, but we are covered by DH's extra insurance from work. (this covers prescriptions, eye doc, other stuff that's not covered by our government insurance, as well as out of country medical insurance) We are all set.

I hope that you all get it sorted out so that you can have no worries once we are sailing away with Mickey!

Okay, I got all 13 birthday calendars stamped today. That was a big project. I wish I had that time for the FEs though. We also figured out our open enrollment, so that is another thing off the to do list. It's a good thing the list is getting smaller because we leave in 2 weeks. Hooray but also a little aaack because I'm not ready yet.

I need to look in my file from last year's cruise to see what kind of travel insurance we ended up getting. We just like to have the peace of mind that if we need something medically that we are covered. I've learned all to well in the past few years how expensive medical bills can be (DD was literally a million dollar baby) thank goodness for health insurance! DH is going to SCUBA, so in case something were to happen with that, or if we got sick or injured we want coverage. The other big thing is medical evacuation (like if they had to fly us back home for medical treatment) that can be expensive, although not likely. So, those are our major considerations. Having the travel delay and baggage delay benefits are nice too. Luckily we've never had to make a claim yet. I think last year we found a policy for the 3 of us for under $100 total (WAY cheaper than DCL's insurance). It did have a small deductible, but that way we only pay it if we use it. I'm hoping that I can find a similar policy this time. Okay, that is my 2 cents on the travel insurance. I know it is just one more expense, but it makes me feel better about leaving the country.

Have a good night everyone! Off to watch an episode of the Love Boat before bed. We got it from the library and it is SO FUN to watch and think about our upcoming cruise. My how things have changed in the cruise industry (and how FUN DCL is)!

That is exactly why we get it! I've had experience with the sick bay on my last eastern cruise. My medical insurance reimbursed me, but I'd have been in trouble had I needed a med-evac, because we didn't have travel insurance.

Traci, Tim should be fine in jeans on casual nights. And just a reminder - ladies might want a sweater or shawl in the dining rooms! I've had to send dh back to the cabin for one a couple times. brrrr.

They don't always make the flood warnings more than they should. In June, I had my basement flooded up to two inches from the ceiling, four feet of water in my sun room, four feet in my garage and also in my shed. I'm still working on getting it back together. My driveway was washed away and I just got that back September 1.

I did have a question though. Does anyone know if they will have Tamiflu on the ship? Is anyone going to try to get some to take along?

Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted in a while but I have been keeping up.

I'm supposed to be cleaning right now but I keep thinking of all the things I still have to do before the cruise (i.e. complete FE's, get suit for DS, try on my clothes and make sure they still fit :rolleyes1, pack, etc., etc., etc). I also still have to get DS's Halloween costume!! I feel like such a slacker but I just don't know where the time goes.

I won't be able to get anything done this weekend either as Donna (TiggerzFan) and her DH, Denise (DJDJ) and her DH and my DH and I are all having an "Adult Only" weekend at EPCOT for the "Food & Wine Festival"! I'm not complaining, but I'm definitely going to have to pick up the pace come Monday. DH will be gone for a couple of days next week so it will be easier to get things done!

Hope everyone is having a great week and I can't wait to meet everyone face to face!

FYI all,

I was just at Joanne Fabrics and they have all their t-shirts (regular and fitted) on a "Buy 2, get 1 free" sale. So, if you have a Joanne's, that might be helpful.
I was there shopping for Girl Scout crafts and and had to stay focused but I could have gone crazy in there on cruise stuff!!!

As for the Tamiflu, I'm guessing that the Medical Center will have it in supply. They'd need it just for their staff. It would, of course, require an official visit to the center and you'd be billed accordingly, and quarantined.

We'll need some serious PIXIE DUST on the cruise to keep away the flu germs. Wonder how recent cruisers have fared.

Dinner's done. Wind is howling. It was nice, sunny, 70's here today, but tomorrow, back in the deep freeze. Saturday, cold and rainy is predicted - hopefully by then, I'll have my wits about me and can do the tee shirts.

I'd be afraid to ask about flu on the main cruise board - you KNOW how they all combine to whip the worry about whatever the topic of the moment is - into a frenzy!

Hi Linda,
I still have an hour before I start dinner. I don't even know what I am fixing tonight?
I spent all day ironing and my back is tired so dinner will be simple. Luckily Greg has simple tastes in food.

Hope your feeling a bit stronger today.

I don't fret about the flu on board, if I did I wouldnt be cruising. I use my little bottle of hand sanitizer all the time and of course they are always handing out wipes for everyone. I figure the odds of getting sick is the same as any other time we have cruised.

I just keep my fingers crossed and have fun.:goodvibes

Hi all,

Hope everyone's health (and teeth) are doing better today.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's t-shirts.

I've done tons of reading on the CDC's website and many others about the flu this week (wonder why-lol). I don't think it a big thing to worry about on the trip. Most doctors are being pretty restrictive as to who can have the Tamiflu, so I don't know that it is worth trying to get some to take with onboard. If you really need it while on the ship, they should be able to give it to you (and yes, they will quarantine you, but that is for everyone's sake). This flu is spreading like crazy. I still haven't taken DD out except for walks because I don't want to be responsible for spreading it to someone else. Overall from our experience and from what I've heard/read from most people, it is pretty mild. Only if you have severe underlying health conditions should you need to worry much. To be honest, I'm glad we have it over with so we don't worry. If only stores and restaurants were as good about trying to prevent things like DCL does--I wish restaurants would have everyone sanitize their hands upon entering. I don't worry about getting sick on DCL.

Oh, and one last thing that I meant to post this morning. GO PHILLIES!!!

Hope everyone had a good day! It started out nice here, now it is cold and pouring rain. Sure didn't have much of a summer or a fall this year.
Shauna, glad your little one is feeling better. I wish everyone was as considerate and would stay home when they are sick. I called my DGD today, and she is feeling better. She is still stuffy but at least her fever is gone.
I have been in a lot of pain the last two days. I expected to be sore the day he did the root canal but not two days after. I haven't been able to eat anything but soup and oatmeal. Good thing I like both. I actually had to take a tylenol 3 last night just to get some rest. Sounds crazy, but my nose and all along side of it hurts?? What's up with that? I am just waiting for our t-sirts to dry, then I will iron the transfers on and they will be done. Then it will just be the packing. I think I am the minority here, I actually like to iron. :confused3 I do however, hate to do the washing and folding.
We leave a week from tomorrow. Anyway, just wanted to check in with everyone, have a good nite.

I'm SO sorry you are so miserable! the nerves in your jaw go up your face - that's why your nose bothers. A cold wet teabag on the aching tooth sometimes works. Hopefully it will be better soon.

Now, I can't find the copy of the picture for the tea shirts. I'll be SO happy to have my brain back in working order.

V

I sure hope u get to feeling better soon. Are you using the same design for your shirts? I was trying to see what everyone was using. I am doing mine tomorrow. I keep trying but Nate comes in. He will be with his dad this weekend so I will get them done tomorrow night since Tim and I are getting away for the rest of the weekend.

I started on the page swap tonight and not sure why I am feeling blank with ideas. I cut out several items already but not sure what to do with them now. I might just put them in bags and let you guys do what you want with them on your own pages. I dont know. Still trying to work on it.popcorn::

Now I can sleep for 2 days......hope everyone is getting over their flus.

Have a great night!!!!!

Traci, yes we are using the same design. Still waiting for the t-shirts to dry, so that I can get them ironed and then put the design on them. I have all of my scrap pages done. Just have to put some kind of tag with them to show that I designed it. I wasn't sure about the picture size, so I put a 4x6 sheet of mat paper where I will put our picture, and if you decide to use a few smaller pictures you can cut the frames or mats to size and shape. Otherwise the layout is put together for everyone. I hope ya'll like it. Tomorrow night, if the grandkids don't come over, I plan to make sure that what I am planning to take still fits, and get it packed up. No use in keeping summer stuff out, I am sure it is not coming back here for a while.
Think I will go check on the shirts.
Take care,

Vickie hope your mouth feels better soon. I hate dental pain!! Linda is right the nerves go into your face so nose pain is normal.

Looks like we had a busy evening here with posts.

Tomorrow I will pack one suitcase of clothes and FE gifts that I dont need to get into again so its all set to go.
Time is flying by.

Good night everyone,

That's the beauty of parts rather than the whole page, lol. When I'm stuck, I turn to "page maps" or sketches. This is a page done from a map.

For the family's t-shirts, i'm using the "1st cruise" design with all ship and the characters on it. But I can't figure out how to alter the words 1st cruise, so I won't be able to use that one for ours. Don't "love" pirates, but will probably use the Ahoy ST Croix on ours.

Krista, you are sure a ball of fire, there, girl! That's a lot to get done.

Kathy, I made pizza last night, with crust from a refrigerated can of dough. only one comment - DON't BOTHER! I usually use whole wheat crust bought as dough in a bag which is MUCH better, even if it isn't as easy to work with.

Tonight, mm - how does smoked pork chops sound?

Happy Day, all!

Greetings, I heard through the grapevine on my island that Disney is startings cruises to St. Croix soon, or already has. If you visit my tiny island, I can help you have the best experience possible as I know it inside and out.

Here are some helpful tips to make your trip more enjoyable.

1. If meeting a local ALWAYS greet them with Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night. It is considered VERY rude to not do this.
2. Dress conservatively. In other words, guys, wear a shirt, females, bikini/swimsuit tops in stores is not ok.
3. Get out of Fredericksted. Travel to Christiansted for history/shopping or one of the beaches. Fredericksted doesn't have a lot to offer.

Want good food? I can point you in that direction. The best beaches? I know that too. Want to hike in the rainforest or snorkel/scuba? just ask!

Uuaww, you are a PEACH! That is GREAT information.

Three questions -

Is it possible to get to the St. George Botanical garden without taking a tour? Could you suggest the best way to do that?

Food - 'regular people' food, not "resort fancy" in Fredericksted

Best local (NOT imported) souvenir?

Thank YOU!

1. I'd have to ask, but could easily find out.
2. top two places on island for that are Lost Dog in Fredericksted (warning, this is a dive bar but is open air, you have to ask for a menu for food.) the pizza is some of the best on island. Napoleons Pizza is good too. Also in Fredericksted is Polly's at the pier for beer, coffee and healthy wraps/salads. Finally in Fredericksted in Turtles Deli, a great local deli.

In Christiansted, the best place is probably just east, Pickled Greek. Entrees under $20 for amazing greek food. Chinese is garbage here, and Mex/Texmex doesn't exist. If you go scuba diving, the wall at Cane Bay is the best Scuba. Around their you have two quality food options, Eat at Cane Bay and Rowdy Joes.

Words of wisdom. We rely on Crucian Time here. This means we take our time to do everything.

3. Um, really everyone just takes home Rum. We don't have any great souvenirs other than rum. If you smoke cigarettes, it is like $20 a carton.

We are doing the ATV's in the morning. Can you recommend a beach after that. We are travel with 5 kids (4-12), is there any place we should avoid with them.

I love rum, is there any particular flavor favorite there. Are the cigarettes the same brands as the states?

if you can find it, clipper; but you'd likely have to venture into some shady parts of town to find it. Where are you doing ATVs?

Top Beach is Sandy Point or Buck Island. You have to take a boat to get to Buck Island though. Rainbow Beach is one of the busiest beaches but one of the nicest. Cane Bay's beach is kinda crummy but the snorkeling there is great. Carambola has a nice beach, often secluded.

Thanks for all the info about St. Croix. I dont have any questions but i appreciate you popping in to help those who do.

Rain coming today. UGH!! I will be glad to get warm again.

Greg is gone to his moms to work on putting on a new roof and adding a large enclosed back porch for her so its just me and the pups this weekend.

All the trees on the hills around us are turning all the beautiful colors of fall. If I was a painter it would make a great painting.

Happy Friday everyone!

The weather forecast says snow is coming around Monday--yuck! I think it is a good time to get out of town and go somewhere warm :)

Hope everyone has time to get trip preparations done this weekend. That is so exciting that some are leaving in single digits! Before we know it we will all be on the Magic.

We decided to postpone DD's birthday party until after the cruise. She is doing much better, but I'd rather not have someone come and spread germs next week just before we leave. 2 viruses this month is enough. I'd rather play it safe and wait to gather in a group until we get back.

Hey everyone...

Happy friday. I'm so excited. I hav to hurry bc not supposed to be on the comp but it was killing me. I am also trying to decide which shirts to wear the first day. I washed an ironed the shirts and plan on doing them tonight but not really sure why I am having such a hard time deciding.
For those doing the Ahoy St Croix design what color shirts do you have? I got white and not sure how it will look.

Have a good day and will check in later.

Shirts - you have to get what you can find. We ended up with lime green for ours and pale blue for the Family's because that was the only color we could get one small enough for the littlest one.

Gail, check your email box - I made you a door sign.

I forget what else I was supposed to post, my brain is mush. oh yeah. After 3 1/2 days of going round and round between the doc's office and the insurance company, my cat scans are finally scheduled, for Monday. I have just one thing to say about that.

If there was a public option for health insurance available, I would drop my current company like a HOT ROCK!

You may now resume your regularly scheduled programing. I'm going to take a nap.

Traci, white always looks great.
I didnt go for white because it gets dirty so easily so we never wear them again.
I am like Linda, wear what ever colors you can get.
I saw light tan 3 weeks ago which would have been great but when I went back last week to buy them, they were all gone.

All I could find was bright red, black, light and dark grey and white. I looked at several stores. Most of those were long sleeved too and I wanted short.

With time to short for me to order them on line I opted for light grey.

The decal looks ok but instead of looking like a brown background it is kinda greenish brown? But since I leave in just a few days I settled for that. It looks good just not as nice as i usually have.

Linda hope you get your health care all straightened out. That can be a royal pain!! You will need a vacation after all that.:goodvibes

Its just dumping rain here today. I had to practically drag the dogs out to take care of busniess today. I left the door open so they could run right back in. Also its cool enough i have the heater on all day. Usually by 10 a.m. I can turn it off until late evening.

well back to relaxing today. Need to clear the brain before starting to pack for this trip.

Later all,

Happy Saturday!! Since it is after midnight I guess it is Saturday. We will be leaving in 5 days!! I sure hope my crown comes in. I am really scared that it won't. I need some pixie dust! I am still pretty sore, I can't even imagine that one single tooth could cause this much trouble, and cause this much pain.
Anyway, Traci we bought dark blue shirts and used the Ahoy St Croix transfer on it. I think it looks pretty good. Like everyone else, I was limited on colors. Still looking for a car for the day we get off the ship. I cannot believe that it cost more than a days rental to return the car to the airport. I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and pay it. I tried all of the car rental and although some of them don't say there is a drop off fee, when you plug it in to return to the same location the price more than doubles. Seems to me that someone at the airport will be looking to rent a car to go back to the port. :confused3
No packing for me this weekend, the grandkids are spending the weekend. They are both saying how much they are gonna miss me, and that they won't even be able to talk to me the second week we are gone. That makes me sad, but not sad enough to stay home.
I am hoping to find a "boogie board" the kind that has the face type mask on the top that you can lay on top of and look into to see in the water without putting your face in the water, while we are in Fl. the first week. Any suggestions on where to look? I don't want one that is real expensive. I just want to be able to "snorkle Vickie's way" while I am there. I can't swim a lick and usually just end up staying on the boats while everyone else snorkles, and swims. This year I thought that I would try one of those boards. You cannot buy them here any time of the year. Everyone I asked looked at me like I had two heads. I can understand why, there is nothing to look at in Lake Michigan.
Well, it is late and I am tired so guess I will try to get some sleep. I will check in again tomorrow.

You might check "ron jon's" once you get to cocoa beach - although there was nothing like that on their website. In fact, half an hour of internet searching only turned up one - I might order it and bring it with me, if I could find it in stock somewhere on line! http://www.yomart.com/inflatable-wave-blaster-surf-mats.html

Hi everyone

What a week... in between working full time and running the kids to karate and school, we've been out shopping for cruise stuff, running around like nutty people, printing and laminating door signs, back and forth with the rest of our family that's travelling with us to consult on formal night outfits, luggage, strollers and all the rest of it. (DSIL has a baby)

This weekend is going to be insane. Today, kids have karate, then DS is off to a birthday party, then to swimming lessons.
Tomorrow, kids have a karate tournament, then DD is off to a birthday party, then both DD&DS are off to another one immediately after the first. Apparently lots of kids in their class have birthdays this month...

Meanwhile it literally looks like some kind of tropical storm blew through the house... there are flip flops, hats, shorts, snorkels, formalwear etc strewn everywhere.:scared1: DH and I will have to divide and conquer this weekend!:yay::yay:

I sure do need this vacation!

How is everyone feeling?

I have copied below the requirements for shipping a box ahead to the port. These come directly from the FAQ on the other thread.

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

So - what does a record box - 12" on a side really mean? 12 x 12? What I sent last year was a tad bigger than 12 x 12 but not much. PakMail built a box for me so it came out exactly as it needed to.

I hope that everyone is wrapping up their preparations for the cruise. I still need to get DH a sport coat. Thought I had it covered but shipped it to my mom instead of here so I have to do that again. Dang. Renting a tux is sounding better and better, then I don't have to worry about anything.

Kathy - I did that ironing thing once and still had to iron after I got there so I have officially given that up - I just treck down the hall to the laundry room and use their irons. It really is easier - for me anyway.

Vickie - enjoy those grandkids this weekend. And, I hope the soreness goes away right quick and that the permanent crown arrives before you leave. Fingers crossed.

Traci and Tim - enjoy your weekend getaway .

Linda - hope that you are feeling better each day and are back to normal shortly. Just don't overdo.

Me - David took his Boy Scout Troop to camp this weekend to work their Halloween haunted hay ride event. Yep - in the rain. I will stay here with the dog and try and get everything lined up. I won't pack until next Sunday and maybe even later than that. I don't do well when I pack too early, then I start unpacking because I didn't write something down and need to be sure I didn't forget something.

Well, everyone have a good weekend - stay safe and healthy.

Vickie, this is for you pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: pixiedust:

Its only 46 this morning. BRRRRR!!! I cant wait to be in Florida and the tropics.

Last night around 3 a.m. Minnie kept walking from me to the other room. After the 3rd time in about 2 minutes I got up and and followed her back to see whats wrong?

She walked to her sleeping area, pawed at her blanket and looked up at me, then laid down looking up at me. So I covered her with the blanket and she gave a big sigh, snuggled all the way under the blanket and slept the rest of the night:lmao:

I swear my dogs are way more spoiled than my kids ever were;)

Not much going on here today. I am planning on watching thr Oregon Ducks game this afternoon, thats about it.

At least its not pouring rain today, just cold!!

We will be on the Magic in 2 weeks!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. It is gray and wet outside today. I'm hoping it will brighten up a bit in the next few hours. I want to try to get some good pictures of DD today since it is supposed to snow on her birthday.

Maybe I'll get to work on my FE gifts today, we'll see. DH is going to a football game so that takes him away for 4+ hours. Maybe DD will take a good nap.

Hope everyone gets a lot done today and gets feeling better.

I think it is time for a question of the day....
So, what is your favorite thing to do once you are on the ship (And if you haven't sailed before what is one of the things you are looking forward to doing once on the ship)?

I love to get lunch at Topsiders and enjoy the breeze. Then I like to hot tub and realize that I am on vacation and I don't have to worry about where to go and how to get there. That is when my vacation really begins.

Shauna we also love to go to Topsiders for lunch. There is just something about being on the outer deck areas. Seeing kids in the pool and everyone walking around all happy.

Then if we have time we usually take a few photos of the ship and of us before it gets too crowded. It's really easy to get people to take your photos so that is nice.

After we leave off our carry on we like to go to decks 4 or 5 and watch the people arriving. We often clap for them like the CM's do and look for people we might know, those green bracelets will be easy to spot.;)

This time though we wont be arriving until around 2 p.m. so we will get rid of the carry on immediately, then for a light, late lunch , then to the meet to say hello to everyone which is a highlight of the cruise for us.:goodvibes

Good Morning! It's still only 46 here, and pouring pelting down rain, besides. A good day to stay in by the fire.

We like Parrot Cay for lunch - the only time we ate at topsiders it was so windy we didn't really enjoy it - and it's difficult to manage a cane, carryon and a tray. Let me get started right - by being WAITED ON! lol.

This time I won't be going to beat street for anything, and we *will* have little ones with us, so I expect we'll head upstairs to the Mickey pool, after that. DH will head for a beer. Then the meet - woo hoo! I really look forward to that.

I love to get lunch at Topsiders and enjoy the breeze. Then I like to hot tub and realize that I am on vacation and I don't have to worry about where to go and how to get there. That is when my vacation really begins.

I am with Linda (are we twins or something??) I love being watied on myself so all that pampering is right up my ally. We are PC folks too, I just prefer eating inside - gotta love that temperature, wind and bird control.

Well, I have been to the grocery to get what I forgot yesterday. I also went looking for some time of binder to keep my docs organized, didn't really want a small 3 ring binder but was just about to when the helpful staff at Office Max found me a Pendaflex folder - has pen loops, pocket for my calculator and a big zipper across the back. LOVE it and it was on sale for $3.00 marked down from almost $14. YeeeHaaa! My bargain of the day.

That's a good deal, Gail! Doncha LOVE when you find something you need and it's on sale?

I have the ringbound passporter, and always wonder why I bother to carry it. I have so many travel papers that I have a substantial 3 ring binder full of page protectors, too. So disorganized, if I didn't keep 'em together, they'd be long gone.

That IS a cute story, Kathy. I forgot to comment on it before but I thought what a cute scrapbook page that would make with a picture of Minnie covered up in her bed.

We *could* be twins, Gail, but I'm a good bit older than you ;)

Our favorite thing to do onboard would be eating! The turkey ciabata sandwiches were a staple. We're looking foward to the beer and wine tastings this time!

Can't wait. Two weeks and and we'll be on our way.

Well it was a very quiet day here today. The wind was blowing hard so it felt like it was freezing out even though it was 57 outside.

I did one load of wash and watched TV. It was nice to relax for the day but kind of boring too.

Catch everyone later,
Hope you all had a good day,

YAHOO! I AM DONE ALL OF MY FE GIFTS FOR MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

What a relief... :cool1:

DMIL also came to my rescue today with what is almost the last thing we needed before sailing away, clips for DD's hair to go with her formal night dress.:goodvibes

Now DH is talking about getting a new suit or maybe renting... have to work that out PDQ...

Otherwise we are almost ready to go!!!:banana:

Everyone is healthy here and planning to stay that way! :wizard:

Wishing those of you who are under the weather lots of healthy vibes so that you will be ship shape in 13 days or less!! :yay:

Good Morning, all! Day shift, checking in.

My hope for the day is to have sufficient energy to iron the transfers onto the shirts. But you know, if I don't, every motel room between here and Florida has an iron!

Congratulations on getting your FE gifts done, Laurie! Maybe you can relax now?

Today is supposed to be better, weatherwise. If it is, and dh rakes leaves, I'm going to take a chair and a blanket outside and sit in the sun to keep him company. I feel like a slug because the only work I've managed to do lately is get meals.

Happy Day, all!

Good morning everyone. I have been checking these boards every few days and I think I posted once when I first booked the cruise in February. I've decided it is time to come out of lurking mode and participate! Better late than never.

I am so excited for the cruise and hope to pack some today. We had a warm snap here and I didn't want to pack my summer clothes quite yet, but I think the temperatures are supposed to return to more seasonable this week.

Swine flu~My daughter also had it and we were lucky to find tamiflu and she felt better after a few days. I was nervous because she had to miss a couple days of school and she is also missing 5 days for the cruise. What can you do? The flu has hit our area really hard. We got our season flu shots at the end of August and everyone w/the exception of my daughter received the H1N1 vaccine a couple of weeks ago. She couldn't get it since she had been on tamiflu within the last 48 hours, they have since run out of vaccine in this area and are awaiting shipment. She cannot take the mist due to asthma.

I'm amazed at how organized most of you are with FEs, door magnets etc. I would like to make door magnets. Where did you get your magnetic paper? I went to Michael's yesterday and they told me that they don't sell it. I would like to try and make a few. I think the kids would get a kick out of that. Any tips would be appreciated :)

Are there still wristbands available? I know I'm really late in the game and I understand if they are all spoken for, but if they are not, I have Paypal and could send payment today.

Have a great day!

Good morning
Hope that everyone is finishing up everything they need to get done before the cruise.
Paula, if you have a WalMart in your area, check there for magnet paper. I usually but mine there. Although this year I just printed mine on regular paper and laminated them. Never done it that way before, so not sure if I will like it as well, but we shall see.
Linda, sitting under a blanket watching someone else rake the leaves sounds like a fine idea! I hate to rake leaves. I do hope that you are feeling better soon.
I wanted to get some packing done this weekend, but the grandkids were here, so I spent time with them instead. I love spending time with them. They are so much more fun than my own kids were. :lmao:
So I will try to get some of it done today, after church and lunch.
Have a good day.

well, no sun so far and only 48 degrees. I guess it's another indoor day. My packing piles are growing.

Paula, try staples or office max for magnetic paper - but don't print on it! Print on regular paper and slide it in front of a magnetic sheet in a page protector so you can change out the photos and not waste expensive magnet.

Howdy everyone,
Linda I hope you get your strength back soon.

7 DAYS UNTIL I LEAVE!!!! :cheer2:

Hi Paula, I got your e-mail and will put you on the cruise mates list today and will send everyone out the final revised copy so you can get to know us faster and we can know you and your family too.

Its very cold today, cold enough to see your breath when you go out which is too cold for me.
1/3 rd of my grandsons marching band is out with the flu so they couldnt compete this weekend. The state finals are on 11/7 so they are hoping to have enough people to compete. I will be really glad when this flu season is over with.

Not much else happening today,
I'll check back soon,

Paula--Yes, there are still wristbands available. PM me with your email and how many and what size you want and I can send you a paypal invoice.

Glad you decided to join in on the chat--better late than never. We look forward to meeting you and all the others on this thread!

Howdy,

I have just finished sending out the FINAL cruise mates list.

If i missed you please let me know right away. Remember I will be leaving in 7 days so if you dont contact me soon it will be to late.

Also the following peoples list bounced back to me undeliverable.

Krista
Nina
Paula
Laurie
Vicki
Sean

It didnt say why but it can only be a couple of reasons.
1. your mail box is too full to accept the file
2. Your mailbox just isnt set up for large files and it is a large file we have a lot of people on it now.

I have sent a regular e-mail to all of these people in hopes of getting it worked out. I am posting this in case my regular e-mails get kicked back too.

If any of you are friends with any of these people please let then know my problem. I dont want them to think I forgot them.

Thankyou everyone,

Happy afternoon everyone. FE's are done - yippee. I will do a few extra tomorrow evening but my list is complete. Those for this trip will be taken to PakMail for boxing and shipping tomorrow. Sigh...

David is home from camping - said it didn't rain for the event so that is a good thing but they only had a little over 300 people go through so that isn't as many as they have had in years past (with better weather). Oh well, can't do much about Mother Nature.

So, not much for me to do for the rest of the day - finish up the wash I guess. I don't want to start packing until next weekend - although my clothes look like I slept in them anyway so I guess I could.

Take care everyone and have a good afternoon.

Good Afternoon Everyone.

I too have finished all the FE for adults and children:cool1: I have to organize alittle since I have all four rooms mixed together now.

Went to mall yesterday for last minute clothes items for BFF and got some clothes organized. Got Halloween costumes for parties this week and finishing the Girl Scout candy sale.

When is everyone leaving for the trip? I leave Massachusetts next Thursday nite and fly out of NJ on Friday. And is anyone staying near the airport on Friday nite?

Have a great day!!!:cheer2:

We leave Saturday, driving. We'll spend a few days in Jax, and then move to the Residence inn in Cocoa Beach. I couldn't get in at the Radisson, when I tried, but it worked out for the better because both families collect Marriott points.

I LOVE ASMovies, Kathy. Have you stayed there before? There are some really CUTE photo ops! (I should send Dimples with you, she'd like that a lot better than the boring Residence inn in Jax. lol)

Where are you spending the week, Krista? or do you mean you're flying out the night before the cruise?

And another one with a productive weekend - Kathy too with that suitcase packed! I am celebrating being a bit ahead of schedule by making chocolate chip cookies! Hope there are some left to take to Drew when we go to watch that last soccer game on Wednesday. I need to hide them - from ME!

Krista - we are spending Thursday night (11/05) with DS #2 and then fly out early (7:45AM) on Friday and will be spending the night at SSR. We have a remote employee at the office that lives in Tampa so they are going to drive up Friday and we will spend the evening wandering and eating in DTD.

Kathy - We are flying out of Atlantic City at 7am that Friday morning and staying at the Country Inn Suites by the airport til Saturday morning then heading to the Port.

It was tough for all of us getting days off so no time to spend in Florida before cruise. Plus I'm pulling my daughter out for 6 days already.

Mom just called and picked up all medical supplies - Purell, bandaids, motrin, tylenol, pepto, tums, bendryl, etc.

Did anyone find cheap over the door shoe hanger?

Does anyone remember who was looking for swim arm floats for their child? I have a set and don't remember who asked before?

It was one of the Donnas looking for arm floats... I also have a pair here for her, I had offered to bring them a while ago.

Good thought about Benadryl... we were caught in the middle of an allergic reaction recently and it was a lifesaver. I wonder if we still have any kicking around here??? If not better pick some up. We always travel with Gravol (I think it is marketed as dramamine in the US? for motion sickness/nausea anyway...) and Immodium also. ;)

We worked on some preliminary packing today while both kids were out at birthday parties... did laundry also and made invites for DS & DD's birthday which is soon after we return, so I will have to send those to school before we leave.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thanks Laurie. So I have a set of floaties too if anyone else needs them.

My daughter is being treated for acid reflux since a baby so we need tums and pepto for her belly. And she gets hives for undetermine reasons...we thought dogs but we think maybe its everyday allergies. Plus allergic to latex so my supply of band aids too. So lots of medical meds are common for us. So if anyone is looking for anything while Im on ship Im sure Im carrying with me...LOL:lmao:

Just finished working on a book report with daughter thats due while we're away so we have to turn it in before we leave.

Hey everyone,

We just got back from our mini trip and had such a great time. We really want to stay longer but we boarded our puppy zoey and she didnt do so well. She was so excited when we picked her up it was kinda sad. She didnt want to play with the other puppies she just stayed in her kennel. They did leave the door open so she could mingle but she didnt want to. Kinda nervous to leave her for so long while we r gone on the trip.:confused3

I am so ready for the cruise I dont know what to do with myself. The anticipation of surprising Nate is killing me.

Friday night I did finish ALL of the magnets. And there are too many.:lmao: Finished ironing on the transfers for the shirts. And completed all FE gifts for everyone. Just got to find out how I am going to get them there.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I missed you guys.

Hey all -

I see you've all been busy this weekend. I didn't get anything cruise related done this weekend...
BUT, we had a magical visit to EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival! It was a "grown ups only" overnight trip, we stayed at All Star Sports. The Festival was SO much fun - Ashley/John (AllThingsDisneyLover) and Denise/Jim (DJDJ) were with us and we had a blast!
There is a lot of great food to be had, and well, the "spirits" were mighty fine, too! I hope we left enough for y'all (for those that plan to go pre-cruise)! :drinking1

I have a lot left to do for this cruise.... it's gonna be a busy 2 weeks!

Kathy, thanks for the updated Cruise Mates list.

Paula, welcome back to the boards!

Krista, it's the other Donna that needed floaties.

Hope everyone is staying healthy!

Wow! Sounds like most of you finished up your FEs this weekend. I really need to get mine finished. DH did his SCUBA refresher and went to the football game yesterday, so he was gone for 7 hours. DD decided that 30 min was a long enough nap, so I didn't get any time to work on my stuff. Then, when DH was home I didn't feel so hot and I just relaxed on the couch. Luckily it was nothing serious and I'm fine now. Now I need to get ready for DD's birthday, so maybe on Wednesday I can dedicate some time to finish up the FEs. I only need a couple hours max (uninterrupted).

Have a good night everyone.

Well, I tried to post the other night but it didn't work, since it's not here...

SOOOOOO.....

My MIL let me know this week (not 3 weeks ago when I ordered shirts) that the sizes I ordered for her and FIL are not what they want. :headache: SO- I have to hassle with the return of 10 shirts (5 for each, for both our DCL/WDW shirts), plus order new shirts. And now, pay a small fortune in expedited shipping and extended sizes costs. Grrrrr. So that has put a major wrinkle in my t-shirt making. Besides super stressing me out!!

I did get my FE's sent out!!

But the big OOPS of the week- I went to pick up our dresses that I sent to be altered. My vow renewal dress, DD's bridesmaids dress, DD's formal night dress. ALL 3 were not done correctly. I about flipped my lid. SO I have to go back and see the seamstress tomorrow, she was not in on Saturday. Of course, the biggest mistakes are with my dress... some stuff I paid for not done at all, some stuff done very poorly, and need to be entirely redone. I am furious. My time is very limited now, and these were not tough alterations to do. Plus, I already paid.

She is not gonna want to see me tomorrow!!:rotfl2: Just what I needed right now, huh?

If it was me, I'd go ahead and use it. What are they going to do - send it back? The requested size is a "Bankers box" or a moving box called a "book box" - if you're close, that should be good enough.

The scans were easy - not even any dye, so no stick. Tomorrow, the answer. Thanks for the prayers and dust - I'm SURE that was why no dye!!!

Do we need to bring both passports and birth certificates?

If I mail my box tomorrow it shoulde be fine right?

What time and where is the meet and also the ladies lunch?

I know I need to get my act together soon.:confused3

Linda, glad your test is over, hope the results are good ones. Traci welcome back glad that you guys had a good time. I agree, I think I would just use the box also. Mike good luck with the tests.
Gail, you most certainly can stop your mail online. I have done it. Had a heck of a time getting them to start it up again. They started it, then stopped it again two days later? :confused3 But then, that is typical for my post office.
Dentist called today, and my post and core? are in, looks like I will have a temporary crown for this vacation, but they are telling me that it will look nice, I hope they are right, Years ago they were big silver gawdy things. I felt like I should have been in a horror movie. :scared1: So I go at 11 in the morning, my face has just stopped hurting, and now back I go. Hopefully this won't be as bad. Well, off to water areobics, will stop by later.

You do not need both a passport and birth certificate for each person. Usually either/or.

Hi Everyone

We are doing the wristband dance!! :dance3::dance3:

So I don't have to stalk the customs agents at the border to see if they are wearing our lovely green wristbands. :lmao: DS already insisted on putting his on his wrist. The kids are both so excited and the funny thing is, they don't even know what they are excited about. I think for DD it's all about FE gifts - giving to everyone. I don't think she has even really thought that she might get things too, she just wants to give out what we are bringing. And isn't that the point after all?
Traci, I have no idea how you are keeping this from your DS... you must be busting!

Linda, I hope you are going to get great news tomorrow.
Mike, best of luck with your exams. It's not sooo long ago I was in university worrying about exams. In fact, I sometimes still have that dream where I forgot to go to class all term and then have to go and do the exam.:scared1:
Vickie, best of luck with the tooth repair.

We are so looking forward to meeting everyone! We are getting there with packing, will finish on the weekend, taking break for trick or treating on Saturday of course!

Have a great night everyone.

I am notorious for making grocery lists and forgetting them so maybe Linda's idea would be better. I still have to deal with the mail - maybe tomorrow I can get myself over to the post office and pick up the form. Probably could do it online too, if I just went looking.

Have a great evening. Dancing with the Stars, laundry and 5 FE gifts are on my to-do list. Short list = short memory, suppose I will get it all done??

ADD'ers need strategies! That's why my lanyards hang on command hooks on the inside of my stateroom door! If they didn't, I would *never* have my room key!

You can stop your mail on line for most post offices www.usps.comand click on the link that says household.

Hello. I cannot believe that the cruise is right around the corner!

Linda~ We are staying at the Residence Inn near the port the night before the cruise. Is that the same place you are staying? We booked under a government rate and couldn't beat the price!

Donna~ I would love to go to the Epcot Wine Festival someday. Sounds like a great mini getaway.

Shauna~Did you receive my PM?

Krista~Where do you live in Southeastern MA? My brother lives in Plymouth.

We received lots of pixie dust today! Our Cat. 9 GTY room was upgraded to a Cat. 6. I triple checked the room assignment because I couldn't believe my eyes:cloud9: I even had my husband come look at the computer. It's interesting, because the category is still listed as a category 9, but the room number listed is a category 6. I read the reviews for our room and both were very positive. We are going to surprise the kids and not tell them about the pixie dust. They are going to be shocked when they walk in and see the verandah!!!:banana::banana:

Paula--yes, I got one pm for you, did you get my reply about the sizes? I don't know what you want for your 9 year old--maybe someone else on here can help you with that. The sizes are child 5-7/8", medium 7-3/8", and large 8-3/8". The website I ordered from says the child sizes generally fit 4 to 6 year olds, so you may want to go with a medium. Anyway, check for your pm and let me know what you'd like.

Laurie--Yay! Glad to hear your wristbands came. Now everyone has them right?

I still have some extra in case people need extras or to switch sizes. I'll bring them to the meet. It's crazy to think that at the end of NEXT WEEK we'll be sailing! I remember when we planned this cruise almost a year and a half ago and I thought how crazy it would be because DD would be 2--now in just over an hour she will be 2. I can't believe it!

Oh, and we are officially all healthy now--hooray! Hope everyone else gets/or is feeling better now!

Luncheon (and the menfolk can also be invited) let's meet at noon in front of Lumiere's on Thursday. If you have something else going on, please feel free to be late, you should be able to find us. And, if you are even considering, please let me know so I can plan ahead with the staff and request an appropriate size space.

Morning all.

Matt the ship usually pulls into port between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m.

I have been on shore to watch it arrive before. It looks so cool all lit up. Is that early enough for the launch? If it's close I'll bet you might be able to go out on deck to see it even if we arnt docked yet.

We saw an Atlas rocket take off once from deck 10 about 20 minutes after we boarded it was great!!

Well its pouring rain still today. Suppose to have a short break between storms this afternoon. YEAH!!
I keep telling myself 5 days until I will be flying to a warm state and will leave the cold behind me:goodvibes Then to the nice warm cruise!!

Traci the meet is 3 p.m. the first day in the Promenade lounge. When you board the ship and go through the atrium they will usher you down a hallway ot the left and part way down that hallway you will see a family lounge that has lots of tables and chairs, a bar, small stage and a piano, thats The Promenade Lounge where we will meet. Its very easy for new people to find.:thumbsup2

I am so glad to head everyone is feeling better now. Please dont take offense if I use hand sanitizer after shaking everyones hands on board;) Its not personal but i know how fast colds and flus go around the ship so I always use it. This year I think we all need to be extra careful. We dont want to get sick and ruin our cruise. :scared1:

Anybody else bringing their own liquid hand sanitizer with them? Or am I the only extra cautious one this time?

I wish we just had rain today. It is snowing here. I'm not a fan of the snow. I would much rather go for a walk and let DD play outside on her birthday, but the weather had other plans for us. At least I know we have some warm tropical weather to look forward to :)

Kathy--I always carry hand sanitizer too. I have been germ paranoid since DD was born. I have a hard time shaking hands because I too know that so many germs are spread that way. I know servers and head servers are trying to be friendly, but it really bugs me that they shake hands after you have entered the dining room with clean hands. Anyway, I definitely won't be offended when you sanitize your hands, better yet, lets just smile and say hello. I especially make sure that I carry it when we go off at port because you never know what kind of hand-washing facilities are around.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Shauna we have had some really bad excursion bathroom experience, especially at Costa Maya. First they want a tip. Then there was No T-Paper, the toilets were streaked in the bowl, floors were covered with papers and trash, no seat covers, faucets were rusty looking and no soap, but they did have paper towels to dry your hands with:lmao:

Luckily i was prepared because we have been cuaght so many times.
I carry travel size toilet seat covers, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, so I was ok and i gave to my DD when she went in.

When I complained to the lady she said well we have had many buses today so no time to clean or restock. I wont say what I was thinking but I obviously didnt put a tip in her hand!!

So that is a good tip I hadnt thought about this time for people.
Take your own travel size items just in case. Most places are just fine and clean but there are times when the bathrooms arnt up to our standards, especially in the shopping areas.

Also you wont find water fountains on the islands as a general rule so take abottle of water with you. The sell them as you exit the ship.
If you buy them on shore they cost double. Fresh water is not plentiful on the islands so they charge a lot because they ship in the water.

Also a couple of times we were warned about street vendors selling bottled water for $1 or $2 per bottle, ice cold in ice.
Well a few had been recycling old bottles and filling them and reselling them. Since they are in ice water its understandable why the labels are wearing off and they often open them as they hand them to you so you wont know they wernt sealed.
So be safe and buy on board or in a legitimate store and you'll be fine.

Sometimes bathrooms are hard to find too. So when you see one, better use it, don't wait or you might be sorry:rolleyes1
i will say most of St. Thomas is good about these things and so is St. Johns, never been to St. Croix, but it is something to be prepared for.

No wonder your tired all the time. You go to bed and stay there and take your meds until you leave. Rest and meds will take care of it in short order. My mom has had pneumonia twice and if you take good care of yourself it will go away much faster.

Wow, you all have been typing away! Well, I did my first lesson as an intern in a 6th grade science/ language arts class. I made them write poems, and they were really well written! I was surprised!

Kathy, I am with you when it comes to hand sanitizer, I think I have a small bottle in everything I carry with me (purse, lunchbox, backpack, etc). Especially being in the public schools, I wash and use the gel all the time! I can't get sick right before this adventure. So, no worries if you use it.

Linda, lots of pixie dust to you! pixiedust:pixiedust: Like they said before, some rest and meds, and you will be in cruise shape soon!

Paula, We're so happy to hear you got an upgrade! You won't ever want to return to the room you booked after the verandah. (We got upgraded for our honeymoon, and won't book below a 6 now) Enjoy the view! :thumbsup2

Gail, Donna and I would like to come to the luncheon but it will depend on whether the kids will stay and play at the kids club. The last time they went with us on a cruise they wouldn't but now they are that much older. Also, if they know some of the other kids in our group that might help too. Can you put us down and at least one of us could come but hoping for the best and both make it.

Linda - Rest, rest and more rest. And if they gave you meds, take them (I had viral and there was nothing they could do for me). If you need any help with something after we board, I would be more than happy to assist - you just let me know.

Took my FE's for both cruises to Pak Mail today and they can go in one shipment. YIPPEE! Saves me some money - I can have another konk kooler! She isn't going to send it though until later this week as it only takes 3 days for it to get to FL from MI and I don't want it to arrive until early next week.

So, David got the suitcases out today, sprayed them with Fabreeze and put them out in the sun to air out. I really don't think I will start that process until the weekend but it will be nice to have fresh smelling suitcases. Just so it isn't overpowering.

(Traci, I don't see how you've kept this from your son, he is going to be the happiest birthday boy!)

This last year has been fine but now that we are closer it is sooo hard. I have almost slipped when talking to Tim about something we needed for the cruise.

What has been hard lately is he keeps asking if we are going to have a b-day party for him or what are we doing. So I hate that I feel like I am lying to him. But I want to keep it a surprise. I told him we would talk about his b-day more when it got closer. He says it's his 10th b-day and he wants it to be special. All I can think of when he says that is "Oh yea it will be special!!".

Glad you are done with your class Mel. It does seem like a much needed vacation for all of us. We as a group have gone thru lots these past few months and I can't wait to meet everyone that I have been chatting with for so long.

Linda get some rest and take your meds Missy! Also make sure to drink plenty of fluids.

I can't believe how close the cruise is! How exciting!!! Thank goodness we have it to look forward to. It has been snowing most of the day and it has stuck to the ground. Not too much accumulation, but it is white and the trees are dusted with white. I've been so busy thinking about the cruise and cruise clothes that I didn't even think that DD is going to need some snow clothes so she can play outside. Guess I do need to do some clothes shopping.

Tracy, hang in there and keep the secret. After you tell him you'll have to tell us all about it. I'd love to read about it and see pics on a trip report or something of the sort once we get back. What a fun surprise! My niece gets to come with us on the Wonder in February and she doesn't know it yet. She gets to find out on her 12th b-day in November. I don't get to see her that much as she lives 3 hours away, but it is so hard to not tell her yet when I do see her. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for you as you are with Nathan all of the time.

Linda, here is lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for you. Hope that you are feeling better soon.
Gail, Dan and I will also attend the luncheon.
I too, take hand sanitizer with me and will not be offended if you use it, but like someone else posted earlier, I think it will be just fine if we just smile and say hello.
We leave Friday morning for our week in Florida before the cruise. We plan to spend a couple of days in the Keys, and then Bush Gardens, Hollywood Studios, and Sea World. Our friends also want to do an airboat ride and visit the Holy Land. I found out tonight, that I am in charge of getting everything together. So I best get busy. I am open for suggestions for the Keys,
Talk to everyone soon.

Good Morning! Day shift, checking in :)

I know your an active person so just to make sure you behave I am going to ask Bruce when we see him to make sure your resting enough. If not, well you remember my whip from our last couple of cruises together??
Dont make me bring it out of hiding!!:lmao:

Kathy :flower3:

OH NO! Not the WHIP! Kathy, I'll be good, I promise. . . well, as good as I can be. The trouble is, everything is all packed and I'm wandering around looking for something to do - I was actually thinking about going back to the pool this morning, but maybe it's not a good idea? :rolleyes1

Linda - Rest, rest and more rest. And if they gave you meds, take them (I had viral and there was nothing they could do for me). If you need any help with something after we board, I would be more than happy to assist - you just let me know.

WOW! That is a sweet and generous offer, Gail! Thank you! :goodvibes (My husband will be THRILLED to take a break, lol)

I told him we would talk about his b-day more when it got closer. He says it's his 10th b-day and he wants it to be special. All I can think of when he says that is "Oh yea it will be special!!".

Just tell him to trust you - it's a surprise! Thank you for reminding me - today while I'm "resting" aka bored out of my mind, I'll try to create a birthday card worthy of a 10th birthday.

Linda -
Take good care of yourself. No doubt some nice sunshine and fresh ocean air will have you feeling fine!:) Oh, no DOUBT.

Let's see, Doc . . .

I should stay here in the great north east where it's chilly, gloomy and raining, I have to climb the stairs to bed, prepare meals, do housework, and answer the door to trick or treaters?

Or could I be just as well off, riding down to Florida where it's nice and warm and sunny, there are elevators to carry me up and down, a steward to clean my cabin, and servers to ply me with food and drink?

duhhhhhh.

I'd skip the Holy Land, it isn't that great and in a week, you gonna run out of time. For an airboat ride, try Wild Willy's in St. Cloud.

http://www.wildwillysairboattours.com/ I had a wonderful experience with him in January.

Bonnie and Donna

Thursday Luncheon - so far I have
Kathy
Melody and Jon
Gail & Daivd
Traci
Vicki & Dan
Bonne & Donna

If I am missing someone - send me a PM or post in red. Also, if you are at the DIS meet on Saturday, tell me as well. And remember, you are not locked into anything, it will just give me a rough idea to tell the staff at Lumiere's so they can sit us in a section. If we don't fill it, no biggie.

Hi, I'm sure you are all very excited for your cruise in a little over a week. I'm on the cruise right before you so I know how you feel.
Anyway, someone on the cruise before me (on it right now), has generously offered to leave their beach toys for me. They don't want to have to bring them back.
I am posting here to do the same for you.

I have no idea what exactly the toys are, or any guarantee that I will actually get them. But hey, its worth a try.

Please PM me with your cabin number and the ages of your children. First PM wins If it all works out the items will either be waiting for you in your cabin or at guest services.

All I ask is
1 - that you have young children
2 - that you do the same and offer them to someone on the next cruise after you.

Good morning!

We leave in 10 days!

Linda~I hope you feel better soon. I had pneumonia for the first time in my life last Christmas and it was pretty scary. I'm a very active, healthy person, but I could hardly breathe. My doctor prescribed an antibiotic, steroids and an inhaler...what a difference! I felt better within days, but I was still tired for a little bit. I agree, being waited on certainly helps you feel better! I got lucky since my mom was here visiting, she cooked, cleaned and took care of the kids.

Traci~My original intent was to surprise my kids as well, but I broke down and told them. We needed passports and there were too many moving pieces to the trip for me to keep it a secret. I will live vicariously through you and I think this will go down in history as your son's best birthday ever!

A few questions...

1. Are you bringing a hairdryer or are the hairdryers in the room sufficient?
2. Is there any reason to bring towels?
3. Is it okay for my son to wear shorts to dinner?

I think that is it for now. Have a great day!

Paula,

Can't wait to meet you and your family on the ship. Are you guys coming to the meet?

The passport situation I was kinda shady again with Nathan. I told him we now had to have a passport to get on any plane. He knows we go to disney every year on a plane so I didnt have any questions from him about it. He just said ok mom and we went. When I got to the counter to get the passports I told the lady not to say out loud where we were going. And everything worked out fine.

I am so ready for this cruise. I had to sleep on the couch last night as Tim did not feel well and I dont need us all to get sick right before the cruise. So not much sleep on the couch. I really didnt want to come to work today but since cruise is around the corner I dont want to use any of my vacations days.

That is so sweet for the previous cruise to offer sand toys for the kids. It's so nice to still have nice people in the world.

Linda rest,rest and more rest.

As for this page swap after moving and stuff still in boxes and all the changes we had this month. I just now found my cutter and tape runner last night. Now to find some paper to finish the project.:rolleyes1

Back to work everyone have a good day!:thumbsup2

YES - or, I pack mine. it gets hot but doesn't blow very strongly. My hair is long and thick and no way. There are people that say they are OK, but not me.

Towels - do you mean beach towels? I don't. There are people that do but I see no reason to. You can take towels off the ship for any excursion (not just DCL's) so we don't bring them.

Shorts - How old is he? I should probably know that but I don't, sorry. Remember, this is YOUR vacation and you will see everything from soup to nuts for dress in the dining rooms.

Well we are doing the usual trick or treating. But will take Zoey (our puppy) with us this year. She has a pumpkin dress that is going to look so cute on her. I'm sure she will spend the whole night trying to get it off. Nathan has a scarey costume (not by my choice). And we will hang out with friends and family. It's great that it is on a sat night.

What do u guys do Kathy?

I got a couple of things off my to do list. Now I can really focus on the cruise.

Still need to finish up FEs and Scrapbook pages, mail one more set of wristbands, and go find a little backpack and some stickers to help entertain DD on the plane. I am going to get some of this taken care of today. We leave in 1 week--hooray!:yay:

For Halloween, I am going to take DD trick or treating to a few houses (don't think a 2 year old will last that long). DH is unfortunately going to miss it because he is going to a football game. A college football game on Halloween night at 6pm--who plans those things. :confused3

I don't bother taking a hair dryer. My hair isn't that thick, so what is in the room works for me. More often than not I just pull it back because I'm on vacation. I don't take towels either because DCL provides them and they take up too much space. Shorts for dinner are fine for young boys on casual nights IMO.

Traci,
no plans for Halloween for us. Kids are all grown. Since we arnt in our home and are in an RV park there are NO kids that come here. We are out in the country and surrounded by farms so not much population.

If I was at home I would easily have 100 to 150 kids knocking at my door:goodvibes I will really miss that here. It will be cold and miserable too.

Shauna we also have a college football game Halloween night. They get sold out crowds and the security has been worried about pranks since its Halloween and are putitng on extra cops for the game. Its a home game so lots of college age people in the audience. I dont think they have to worry but they keep talking about it on the news, so someone is concerned I guess:confused3.

I won't miss hallowe'en here - too many too big kids that don't even make an attempt at costumes. On the other hand, I worry about possible vandalism in a hotel parking lot. Oh, well. what will be will be, and we *WILL* be on the road.

Linda - over rated or not (and I so bet that even the slug that I am
would have had enough by now) your body needs it. Find a good book. Get a travel guide for the PC cruise. There are lots of places that I have not been to (all except for CC actually) so I have lots of reading to do. Rent some movies, make sure your DH has not forgotten anything, figure out what I can do to help once we board - anything.

Traci, one grandaughter is a college student and her brother is a sophomore in high school, so they arnt going to want to hang with grandma on Halloween:lmao: Plus they are 90 minutes on the freeway to get there.

The other 2 are younger, 10 and 8 but they live another hour plus past the others on the freeway. I dont think their mom takes them out on Halloween or just to a couple of neighbors they know.

So it is very quiet for us. Our pups will keep us company and there's always a horror movie on the TV on Halloween. If i can find one thats not too gory:confused3

Well, for all of you surviving in the cold, it may or may not warm your hearts to know we are back up to 90! :eek:Blech! I really would like it a bit cooler, especially for Trick or Treating. Nothing worse that kids in costumes and face paint that are all sweaty and dripping! LOL! I think we'll have some cold beer on hand for the parental escorts!;)
We get TONS of kids in our neighborhood - easily over 100. Last year we were laughing when a large golf cart full of about a dozen teens drove house to house.:lmao:

As for the hair dryer question, if you use a hair dryer regularly, take your own. The ones in the stateroom are very hit or miss (as far as if they actually blow out air) AND, they're attached to the bathroom. I usually end up using mine over at the desk area.. less congestion from all the scurrying of getting ready.

And, I'll take some Pixie Dust my way, too. Had my thyroid biopsy today and now the wait begins. Good results are expected, but the wait is a killer. I'm actually kinda hoping to not get the results before I leave, just in case. Can't have anyting messing around with my magic!:wizard:

Linda, I'm going to let the rest of the Mom's, Sisters's, and Grandma's in the group nag you about getting your rest. All we want is for you to be feeling well when you board that ship.

No trick or treaters at my house either. Haven't had them for years and years. Too few houses on a busy street. It's not worth it either for walkers or car loads.

I was trying to look at both the FE list and the Cruise mates list to make sure we're not forgetting anyone. They don't quite match so I'm hoping a couple extra should do the trick.

Weather might make it to 70 tomorrow. Wow! Then the cold weather will really arive for the rest of the winter. Gail, is it the same where you are?

It was in the low 60's when I drove by the bank tonight on my way home from the office. Drew plays soccer in Alma tomorrow so we get to head south some so maybe it won't be too bad. I just don't want to sit in the rain - after that I can be prepared for about anything. It is 46 now so hopefully it will at least get back up to 60. The game isn't until 4:30 and it starts to cool quickly. Guess I best get prepared for that.

Quiet evening - other than I have misplaced some of my door sign items. But, they will probably turn up - after we get home. But, no worries, it will be pretty covered as it is.

Ok guys one last question about the page swap. Is everyone making a page or making the items to make a page? And if you are making a page what size?

Just trying to get this last thing together so I can be done.

Evening everyone...

Counting down the days...

Linda, you keep resting, can you find any good trashy daytime TV to watch? Soon you will be resting in a nice deck chair!

Donna, I hope everything turns out fine, I'm sure it will.
PS thanks a lot for telling us about your great weather! Here I am trying to figure out if DD;s winter coat will fit underneath her cheerleader outfit! :lmao:
At least DS is Superman, not so hard to hide a coat under that one...
A couple of years ago we had a nice mild Halloween, we were out in short sleeves. I don't think we will get that this year. At least no snow so far though, we have trick or treated in the white stuff before. :scared1:

We will have a good amount of kids, maybe 60 or so. Our little neighbourhood is a bit isolated, separated on two sides my major streets, so we only really get the kids who live right in the neighbourhood.

DMIL is taking the kids on Saturday afternoon so that DH and I can finish packing. :woohoo: She is going to carve pumpkins with them, so that is one less thing I have to do.:woohoo:

Gotta run and get these monkeys into bed. Have a great night everyone.

I'll probably end up making the pages too, and I'm doing 12x12.

Got some shopping done today--backpack, snacks, and sticker books for the flight (they may come in handy at mealtime on the ship too).

Sorry Tiggerzfan that you're not enjoying the 90 degree weather. That sounds heavenly to me right now. It has been in the 30s the past couple days here with snow. I looked at the extended forecast and it looks like it will be in the 80s next week for our pre-cruise stay--that is perfect in my opinion!

Donna, lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for you and everyone else who needs it. Linda, I agree with everyone else, you need to get your rest. You can stay busy with activities and such once you board.
Tomorrow morning, I will print our boarding passes for our flight down on Friday morning. We are both so looking forward to this trip. We have both been working way to much and need this vacation.
We will finish packing tomorrow after work, and then leave here at 5:30 am on Friday morning. So if I am missing for a while, you know why. I will probably be up most of Thursday night and get my rest on the flight down. As for Halloween, we will be spending it somewhere in the Keys. Should be interesting.
I too, take my own hair dryer, the one on the ship is not something that I can work with at all. It is a long half tube, for lack of a better description, that has a too short cord, and just doesn't function well for me.
Traci, I also put my scrap page together, and made a 12x12. All I have left to do with them is make the "made by" tags.
Well all, I best be going I have one more work day, and need to get some rest before I tackle it.
Take care,

Morning all. Quite nite at our house last night but I did do some clothes sorting. No wonder I pack too much - there is too much in the staging areas - for both DH and myself so I will go through that this weekend and weed some things out. It has been warm enough here for me to have pulled two shirts to wear to work already.

Well, have a good day everyone. pixiedust: Linda for your appointment today. Drew has a soccer game later today so I will be MIA.

Has anyone else looked at their insurance policy? I was reading ours this morning and the exclusions say a pandemic or epidemic. Hasn't one been declaired? We are a little worried because a lot of people are getting sick. Wish it was time to leave tomorrow instead of next week.

I just went to the main web site of our policy and it says they are modifying the rules until December of 2010 saying they will pay for cancellations caused by the swine flu. Whew! I'm hoping we stay flu-free but at least feeling better knowing if we have to cancel, we can use that money to go another time. If anyone else wonders, check your policies.

Happy Thursday All!

I guess this is the last Thursday I'll be posting to this thread before our trip. Next Thursday I'll be in AK.

Still snow outside, but there is some sun and it looks like the only snow left is in the shade. I'm ready for some warm weather!

I've got a lot to do today--run to the post office to mail one more set of wristbands, finish my FEs, figure out my page swap, and buy some travel insurance. I'm pretty sure it won't all get done, but if I list it out then I know what I should work on so that some of it gets taken care of.

I will be able to post on Thursday but not afterwards - unless I decide to take my laptop - SSR will have free interent but I will not pay for internet access on the ship - but I do need something to charge my Zune. Silly to take but that power outlet charger is over $30! I think I need to go to a box store and see what I can find.

HOW did we get to single digits? We have been waiting for a year for this and it is almost here. Some of you are looking at departures in less than 100 hours. I can't wait!

We take the laptop with us for airplane entertainment (we put movies on it) and then use it at our DVC resorts (with free internet) but also don't pay for internet on the ship. It is nice to have in case our memory cards are full and we need to put pictures on it.

Disney Dream in 2 hours.  They just released some of the pictures on the event page. It looks absolutely incredible. Can't wait to ride the aqua duck slide.

Cant believe its only 9 days till the cruise. Here is my fun schedule for next week.
Monday-Spanish exam
Tuesday- Ecotourism exam/Business writing paper
Wednesday- Business stats exam
Thursday- Accounting exam/ ecotourism paper
Friday- Spanish Oral Presentation
So it is going to be a crazy week. On the bright side the week will fly by and we will be pulling up to Port Canaveral in no time.

The improv comedy troupe my friends and I started "Rogue Improv" will be having our first show tomorrow night and my parents are coming up for it. Very excited. As you can tell I don't like sitting still.

Can't wait to meet everyone. Not too much longer.

Thank you so much for the continuing Pixie Dust!:goodvibes Y'all are sooo sweet! Really looking forward to meeting everyone.

Again, another day with nothing cruise-related done. I spent almost 4 hours at DD7's school. First, I was handing out cupcakes to every Girl Scout in the school in honor of the birthday of Girl Scout Founder, Juliette Gordon Low. Then, I was in the classroom for "Pumpkin Centers" - they did lots experiments with pumpkins (weighing, measuring, floating, etc) and had snacks. We're no longer allowed to have Halloween Parties so that was the best we could do!

SINGLE DIGITS????? :scared1: Exciting, but scary! I'm not ready yet, but I will be. (deep breaths, thinking happy Castaway thoughts).

We leave for Fl. in 4 hours!! House is straightened, Birth certificates DL's,
boarding passes, and cruise docs, are in hand. So I am ready. Just have to pack up the dog and head to my aunts and they will drive us to the airport. It is storming really hard here tonight.
I was freaking out not being able to find my birth certificate, We looked for over 3 hours for that piece of paper. I finally called my daughter,I was in total panic mode!! She was going to check the safe deposit box tomorrow, and then head to the court house to see if she could get it. She did order one online, just in case. The goofy thing is, I always keep it in my little accordian file that I use when we travel. I knew that it was in a brown cruise envelope, my biggest fear was that I might have tossed it when I was cleaning out a closet. I was actually jumping up and down and crying when Ifinally found it. I guess that will teach me to think about scrapping cruise stuff huh? The only thing is, I did not get my "made by' tags done for the page swap. I am taking them with me, and will do them one night before we board.
Sooo, guess I will see everyone at the meet. Might not be able to get online while we are there.

Vickie,
safe travels to you!!

morning all,

Linda I am not leaving until sunday. 2 more days!! I believe you only have 1more day right? Dont you dare over do now that your feeling a bit better or I WILL bring my WHIP!!
You know how mean i can get!! Just dont hit me over my head with your cane:lmao:

Traci I will be posting through sunday morning so we will keep this thread moving.
Not taking my laptop with us so sunday should be my last post before leaving.

We printed off docs for the cruise and hotel this morning so i can get my papers all packed in the carry on today. :woohoo:

Poor Greg has been working all day and all night when he gets home to get all his contracts written before he goes on vacation or the other people wont have work while he is gone. He really needs this vacation.

I am now out of milk, bread and fresh fruits and vegetables. So soup and crackers, oatmeal are about it until we leave for home meals. I am sure Greg will be wanting to eat out!! We do have a pizza place down the road, maybe i will go get a pizza for dinner. The truck stop has subway sandwiches and small salads too. I just dont want to buy any thing now that we cant eat before leaving sunday.

well off to find something to do to pass the time for the next 2 days, so I wont go crazy. I am crazy enough already. No comments from Linda please:rolleyes1
She knows me too well:rotfl:

Krista -

Our school's troops celebrated today because there is no school tomorrow and "J-Low's" b-day is the 31st. Yep, daughter is a Brownie and I'm a Co-Leader and Assistant School Coordinator.

Our school doesnt do anything special like that. We also have no school today but the party is at the middle school next Saturday while we are away. My daughter is in her final Brownie year and will merge to Junior next year. My daughter will be so excited to know there is another Brownie on the trip.

Happy Friday all! Hope those who are leaving soon have fun, and you can just think of us who are still home doing the daily grind.

Finally bought our travel insurance this morning. I even worked on FEs last night and hope to finish them up today. Next will be scrapbook pages. Hope to finish those by tomorrow. That will just leave the packing to do.

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween and a safe trip!

I forgot to remind Traci to bring her wedding photos! The romantic in me wants to see!

Kathy, I tried. Lay there for 45 minutes but never went to sleep. Pot pies for supper - simple, and no leftovers. Official segue into vacation mode now.

Shauna, if you're shipping, I sent you a pm.

Sun is FINALLY out. too late to amount to anything.

Wow, you all sure have been busy!

Safe travels to all of you who are getting to start your vacations early! Have fun!

To those of you who need it, rest and pixiedust:!!!

I can't wait, only 8 more days. There's so much to do next week. I have to get all my reports, and files done for this week and our week on the Magic to turn into my professors. Oh well. I'll tell them I had to cruise when I get back, so they don't get mad at me.

Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Good morning!

Safe travels to all of you who are leaving today.:drive:

Over the door shoe hangers-I found one today for $5, if anyone would like me to pick up one for them, let me know and I would be happy to. They are lime green and I think that is why they were on sale. :rotfl:

Kathy~Thanks for sending the list of cruise mates. When I was reading through, I noticed that one of the cruise mates was previously assigned to the room that we received with pixie dust. Hopefully they got an even better upgrade! I thought that was an amazing coinicidence!

I'm running around today and doing PTO stuff. Then I have to go to my son's fall party and out to dinner with my husband's family this evening. I think it is going to rain here for Halloween, I hope it holds off for the kids to go trick or treating. We're going to an after party at a neighbor's house, so if all else fails we can go there earlier.

Have a great day!
Paula

Paula,

Where did you find the over the door hangers? I hate to impose since we have 4 cabins. Im hoping to find them here.
