Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you all had a nice day. We successfully made our first turkey and the fixings together! Hope it was good for all of you!
Does someone have the pics from the scrap swap? How were we going to get those out, or will they be on the group page on Facebook?

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!
We are settled back into our routines. DD & DS won't take off their kids program wristbands still to this day... also they are still wearing the green wristbands for our group. DD won't take the braids out either. I may have a small problem brewing... :lmao:
It's their bday party this weekend, so we are looking forward to that.
Hope everyone is well.

Hey everybody, sorry I disappeared for a week, school got the better of me again. What an awesome group of DISers. My family and I had so much fun meeting everyone and seeing everyone around the ship. I just requested access to the facebook page so hopefully I will be able to keep in touch with everyone and put up some pics. I hope the double dip went well for everyone.
Tiggerzfan, thanks for the compliment on Pub Night. The moment Katrina walked by me I knew she was putting me on stage, we met on a previous cruise so she likes to torment me, lol.
Linda, while my trip reports are slow to come my topic blogs should be up soon on AllEars so I will pm the links to that when they come up.
I hope to sail again with some of you in the future. You all really helped make our cruise special.

Good morning, all!
Our colds/sinus are still with us too. We leave Jacksonville this morning headed home, after a happy Thanksgiving with family. The weather for the first couple days shows sunshine, but apparently it's yucky in the great northeast. Can you tell how excited I am to be going back there??
Hope everyone recovers quickly!
Happy day, all!

Donna, do they ever give Florida resident discounts on holiday cruises? How much in advance do they release FL resident rates? I am just thinking about any potential CA resident rates!! DCL has gotten into the pattern of releasing the dates so soon, it's way too soon to market those dates yet. So the general news media out here hasn't even announced or talked about the Wonder moving to LA, much less when the dates are. No ads or any such out here at all, yet.
Christine
Christine -
Just this year I've noticed FL resident rates on many sailings, including Christmas week! Now, while the prices are reduced, they are not the usual low Florida resident rates for that week. I usually use the website for All Seasons Travel (************* dot com) to see the trends... there's a link just for the FL rates.

Hi all -- Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. We are in Zions National Park and St. George, UT for the long weekend with all of my family. It is about 5 hours south of home. While we are enjoying the 50-60 degree weather here as opposed to 30s and 40s at home, I miss the 80s from sunny FL. I need to work on a photo book and trip report once we get home and settle in again. Thanks to those of you who have shared so far.
We are cruising on the Wonder on Feb 7th (our freebie from adding on to our DVC membership) and then we have a cruise on the Dream in Dec 2011.

Hey all -
Happy DECEMBER!
Yesterday was Maddie's 4th birthday so the never-ending celebration continued at the Magic Kingdom last night. We had dinner at The Crystal Palace for the first time and it was a blast, especially because Maddie is a MAJOR Piglet fan. Poor Piglet was practically stalked by Maddie while doing his rounds in the restaurant. It was a treat (and an expensive one!) because we don't normally have meals in the parks. We usually do half-day visits and eat before or after the park.
So nice to see the MK all dressed up for Christmas! Is everyone in full decorating mode at home?:santa:

Very nice, Mike! We did see some work going on to the right of the ship dock, but it was quiet. Quite a number of (what appeared to be construction) workers came from various parts of the island to catch the 3:30 ferry back to Abaco.

Donna,
We love WDW when it's all decorated up for christmas. They actually put up the hollywood studios tree on Nov 2nd while we were there.
Many of the parks were decorated but nothing was lite up yet.
We always went to see everything when we lived there. We always took one day to do all the hotels to see their decorations. So much fun.
Mike, great blog, you got several photos I wanted to get but didnt make it back to the area to get them before running out of steam.
Thanks for posting,

Hi guys!
I ordered up a round of photos this morning and started on my scrapbook pages - HUGE thanks are in order to the scrapbook swap members - instead of sitting there staring at a blank piece of paper for an hour before I could begin - I just "began"! THANK YOU!!!!!
And thanks to Gail for the paper holder that got all my scraps home FLAT and tidy! I've finally gotten everything sorted out and put away.
Tracy - let me know when you're ready to photo chop your pictures, babe.
Hope everybody's haveing a good weekend. I'm off to work on some more photos!

Great minds think alike. I got all my stuff out today too so I can start soon on my book, but i need to get an album first. I was looking at all the wonderful pages thinking WOW this si sure going to be a lot easier this time.:cool1:
I also used Gails gift of a paper holder to get everything home safely.
Have fun getting your pages together.:goodvibes
As soon as i get an album I will be doing the same thing. Actually I want 2 albums because i still have last years cruise to do too. I have all that out today too.;)

Hey all!!
Mike, I see that you are going to be on the March 6th Western- DH and I are thinking of booking that for the two of us!! He will be turning (ahem) a number that begins with 4 and ends with 0 that week. We're already going to the Villas at the Grand Californian for my (ahem) similar birthday in February. It would be a grownups-only cruise!!
What do you know about the weather at that time of year? Will it be warm enough to do beaches, snorkeling, etc.? We've never done a Western, and if we can get the cat 12 at $739/pp the price is right! We talked about doing another cruise line but we both loved the Magic so much I think that's where we will be headed. Plus, we have some freebie airline tickets and have enough hotel points to stay free the night before. We've never booked an inside room (other than a SPH) but boy is the price right.
Anyone else wanna bounceback for an early spring break cruise?!?!

Me, me! I'd really love to, but we are doing a 4 night in Feb (our DVC freebie), so that will have to suffice. I sure miss seeing all of you and I definitely miss the warm weather. It is 9 degrees here right now, brrrrr. The low for the next few days is 5 degrees and the highs are only in the 20s. Anyone want to send me some sun?
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you all have things about ready for Christmas. I have some homemade gifts that I still need to make, but I'll get them done. I'd much rather be working on FE gifts and such though lol. Take care everyone and stay warm!

Right now we have a break in the storm. It was rain, snow, and ice mix last night. Most schools are closed. Then this morning it turned to more rain. This afternoon the temperature is going way down and we are supposed to get lots of snow and there is a blizzard warning posted with 50 mile an hour winds starting this afternoon and going through tomorrow. (It's starting to howl right now.} I got my erronds completed this morning so I might be in for the next couple days. For all of you who also live in the snow and cold climates, "Isn't this awful?" I would love to go too but we have a 14 day TA cruise booked already in September. Not enough vacation time to go twice in one year:thumbsup2
We have the bitter cold too Bonnie. We were 14 last night and wont even get up to freezing today. Tonight is heading for 9 to 11 degrees.
Friday night as we transition to warmer weather we are suppose to get freezing rain and snow:eek:
Next week is a regular heat wave, highs around 40 to 45 and lows all in the 30's:woohoo: I am really looking forward to it.
I have all my shopping to do and grocery shopping too. Hopefully sunday will work for me to get this done.
I was going to make up some cookie dough and then freeze it to cook later but its so cold in my RV the butter wont soften up:lmao: It's 60 in here. That sounds warm but its not. Just have to watch the propane until Greg can get it refilled. He is gone for a few days, so I am using a small electric heater which isnt all that warm, but is better than not having it.:thumbsup2
Later all,

I feel bad for you. Wish you could join me here. I would be very cold at 60 and probably stay in bed under the covers all day. I'm a chicken when it's too cold. I keep it at 69 or 70 during the day. Donna called that the College just closed for the rest of the day so she is on her way home too. It's just not good weather. They said on TV that the weather channel was in contact so maybe we will hit the big news again.
I'm making pig-in-the-blankets and then I'll make some fudge for Christmas gifts. That should keep me busy for the day. I have all my shopping done and everything wrapped except for about 10 things I have now found around my house that I put away. I'll try to get them wrapped today or tomorrow.

well I lucked out. The sun is shinning brightly and its still below freezing but when the sun comes shinning through the window it really warms it up in here nicely. The RV is so small it doesnt take much sun to warm it up so I will be warm for a couple of hours anyway.:goodvibes
Maybe my butter will soften up now so I can mix up some cookie dough:lmao:
I actually took the blankets off me and the dogs and I am comfortable. Of course i have on boots, long johns, jeans, sweat shirt and long sleeve t-shirt on:rolleyes1

Hello!
Kathy, I sure wish you'd get a spare propane tank - I hate to think of you in danger of hypothermia! Which you ARE you know, even with a two dog night.
Chilly but not freezing here - we had about 6 - 8 inches of snow - more than they said for us - and no rain. The wind's not blowing right yet. Got a few more pages in my scrapbook done - ALL the pages from the swap, plus an extra beach page. I put in some divided pages too, so I only needed to slip in the photos. THANK YOU, Swappers!
So, since the weather was yucky, I stayed home from the gym, finished my cards AND the tree. We definitely downsized the number of ornaments on it this year - much easier. I miss some of the old favorites, but I just don't have the energy to spare this year.
Hoping one of my cast member friends can work out a cruise for us at the end of my January vacation. She gets good deals and loves to cruise, so my fingers are crossed.
Kathy, please take care! The rest of you too - Hugs to all!

All the schools up this way are closed, including Baker College and NMC in Traverse. NASTY but we do not have the blizzard warnings that you do as we are not that close to the lake. I an see the snow blowing - we have well over a foot on the ground now but had 6 inches or so before this started. I am sick of it already - and it isn't even Dec. 15th, I have a LONG way to go.

We are freezing here too! No snow yet really, we had a sprinkle last night but then it rained all day and it all melted and washed away. Now it's just super windy and cold. I feel like the house is going to blow away...

It's darn cold here too, for us anyway. Nothing compared to you Michigan ladies, no doubt!!! BE safe out there. No snow- almost had some Monday night, but the front blew through by the late afternoon before it dipped below freezing. We've had 3 nights in a row now below freezing. Tuesday my car was covered in ice- the doors froze shut and my gate was frozen shut too! The high was only about 40 which is really low for us, lows in the 20s. Brrr!! Supposedly rain the next 3 days, but moving up to low 50s. Sorry for all y'all snowed in by the blizzards!! When I was a kid, we lived in Iowa and we had our fair share then. After 3 of the coldest/snowiest winters on record my mom was ready to head to warmer climates again! And here we have stayed. I get to look at snow all winter though, since I live in the foothills and the mountains behind me are all covered in snow. :thumbsup2 Tracy, I'd love to see your Texas snow. Do you live near Houston? I have 2 close friends in Houston I have traveled to visit many times. I know they were expecting snow in those parts last week.
In other news...
Well I did indeed book the March 6th Western!!! But I have to say their meets group is well, a little sad and quiet... at least compared to y'all!!! I will miss getting to know everyone like I know everyone here. Shoot, I posted on this thread for almost 2 years before the cruise!!!!! And here I am jumping in on this cruise with less than 90 days out. That thread is only on 16 pages!!!!!!!!!!! And here we are at 169 :rotfl: Kathy, they need you to come whip them into shape hahahaha!!!
Bonnie, your cookbook looks so good- and there you go talking about fudge- I can't wait to try some things with the kids as soon as school lets out next week! Yea for Christmas vacation and making goodies at home!!!

I'm gonna try that peanut butter fudge recipe, diabetes be damned! More than 40 years ago, when I had my first job, a lady in accounting used to occasionally make peanut butter fudge. It was DIVINE. But every recipe I've seen for it since is really chocolate peanut butter fudge. This one will at least have the correct appearance!
Today is sunny, but we got the winds, so the windchill is 23 degrees F. I'm glad I went to the grocery store before the pool and gym this morning, before the wind started.
Happy day, ladies!

Only Disney could arrange something like this.
Disney Cruise LineŽ is not the first to do a Baltic Cruise. But where they are the first is in their arrangement of exclusive access to the Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia to hold a series of Royal Balls for guests on Disney Cruise Line voyages.
Cinderella will be on hand along with Snow White and Belle.
These private functions at the summer residence of Russia's Royal family, will take place in the evenings. The palace will be closed to those not attending the Balls. The Balls will include live musicians and "royal courtiers" in period costumes and powdered wigs who will lead passengers in song and dance.
Other cruise lines have offered special events at the palace before, but never has there been one this elaborate. The princesses and their princes arriving by horse-drawn carriages will entertain guests in the gilded Grand Ballroom.

It's 8:30 on Monday morning and I am back from Donna. I still spend each weekend there but do so after monitoring the roads to see if I can get there and get back.
Today it is just above freezing and is drizzling. If it starts to freeze it will be an ice scating rink out there so I better get my erronds done. I have some Christmas gifts (candy etc.) to deliver and I figured today was a good day to do that. It's rough being retired.
Tracy, I feel for you with a job you didn't like. I have had three jobs in my adult life and couldn't complain about any of them. The last one I stayed for 26 years and didn't retire until I was 72 because I liked the people I was working with and the job and couldn't see staying home alone and looking at four walls. Also, the extra money I made helps pay for cruises and trips to Disney.
Better get my gifts put together and get on the road.

Happy Monday DISfriends!
We are at a balmy 30 degrees with sun and a lot of snow on the ground today. We finally got a snowstorm yesterday that cleaned up the air and raised the temperatures. Single digits last week were no fun.
Yesterday I was telling DH that we were on the Magic a month ago, it seems like much longer ago. I miss all of you and I miss the Magic.
What have we been up to? Hmmm, had a broken garage door, got that fixed, now a broken toilet, gotta go to Home Depot tonight so we can fix that, our renters are moving out, gotta find new ones.... why is it that when everything happens and you need more money it is Christmas time and you just don't have it. But, the upside is that we had a fabulous trip last month and we get to go see Mary Poppins next month in LA.
I've been working on Christmas gifts for a few of the nieces and nephews today--almost done too. I'm making some magnetic paper dolls, well really bears, but I think they will enjoy them. I'd better finish them up now before DD wakes up from her nap. I just needed a little break so I thought I'd say hello.

Kind of sad isn't it. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Also, for anyone in the facebook group, how do I join?

Well, unless you are 'stampinshauna' on facebook, first off, somebody needs to know your real name, so they can 'friend' you or you can 'friend' us . . .
I'll pm you my name and you can friend me.:thumbsup2

Yep! Join on FB, Shauna!
We had a nice Christmas, good weather, but very hectic! We went to Vegas Sunday and came back today- just DH and I and some friends, no kiddos. We go every year between Christmas and New Year's. Usually my family goes too but this year my dad had to work. We even won some money, it's nice to come home with some extra for once!!
Still looking forward to our March cruise, but that thread is totally a dud. Does that happen on some cruises??? My 4 night Wonder thread was way more happening than this 7 day cruise, 2 months out even... I've tried QOTD. Like 2 people responded. Sigh.
I guess us St. Croix-ers are just the best!!!!:yay:

I have had a few dud threads, usually 3 day cruises but just keep posting there. Do it 2 or 3 times a day. Chat about anything.
That will keep you bumped up on the page so others on your cruise can find you easier.
Usually that will stir up a few people. Then I usually send PM's to those who had posted to see if they are still coming and introduce myself and invite them to post again so we can get aquianted.
I usually have good luck with that approach.

Does anybody else keep checking this site? I just can't help myself from making sure no one has posted something.

Nobody has been here forever. We all have been posting on the Facebook page for this cruise instead since this cruise thread needs to die out now that the cruise is over,
drop by there to see who is around is the best thing to do.:goodvibes

Sometimes you have to be tough as nails about these things.
After 20 cruises I almost have it mastered:lmao:
