Great costumes Rebecca. Do you sew them?
Thanks!! I can sew but honestly, I don't like to oddly enough! :rotfl2:
We are definitely going to try to do the beer tasting. We're not really drinkers so we're already worried how drunk that will get us!!
I just finished printing 40 door magnets for our door! I guess you could say I'm going the lots-of-small-magnets route, instead of a few big ones!! :rotfl:

We will be meeting at the Promenade Lounge at 3 pm on the first day. Sandy also bought wristbands but I'm not sure if she'll have extra.
Thanks! I'll be there!
The cosplay thing sounds so cool! It's like make-believe, but more elaborate and for grown-ups. I love it.
"What interests, other than all things Disney, do you have?"
Not many. I love the Muppets (well, puppetering in general); the internet....um...I don't know. Disney is just my thing, you know? I collect pins (with a passion), I read Disney travel books (with a passion), and I make plans (with a passion).
And my mom is sick of it. With a passion. :rotfl:

Wait, just another question...is this the day we board, or the first full day on the ship?

Rebecca: Thanks for the wonderful video link. I wish I could have heard the singing better, but I got the jest of what was going on. It is "priceless".
Dh and I are not big "drinkers" - but I thought I might try the drink of the day each day - depends. DH may have a glass of wine at dinner. Or not :confused3 I do remember enjoying the Konk Koolers at CC.
As for other ship activities, we really don't have any plans just yet - except to enjoy!!
I still have all the packing to do (I'm having to wear some of the items I'll be bringing with me :rotfl:) and fe gifts to complete. Next week will be plenty of time to pack. I do have a box started of things I don't want to forget. And we have the suitcases identified. Oh yea - I still need to.......
finish the plans for my Dh's 50th birthday party on Saturday - this week :scared1::scared1:
Congratulations to Lisa for posting the 1000th post!!
Tomorrow will be our 10 days and counting day :dance3::dance3::dance3:
I'm sure there will be some serious dancing. We leave on Friday, the 24th!

They also have a webcam. We can't wait to ride the skyride :yay:
So funny... I just looked at this too. You beat me to posting!
This is probably what we will do too. I'm a little unsure of how the taxis work. Honestly , I am not well travelled, and because there are 6 of us (three kids), I'm not sure we can fit into one cab. So we''ll see when we get there.
I have been told to go to the K Mart in St. Thomas for a great prices on booze. ( Just follow all the crew!)

DH and I attend anime cons and I cosplay (or dress up) as various anime/video game/comic book characters. We also collect statues and figures from our favorite series. We watch a lot of TV and our favorite shows are "Heroes", "LOST", "The Office", as well as others. We also like to eat out and try different restaurants. DH is also an import car enthusiaist.
I am a "Lost" and "The Office" fan also. We don't watch much TV but these are on our auto record list:thumbsup2
Hey Rebecca -- that was adorable ! LOL. I want to see you walking around the ship in your costume now :) Thanks for the giggle.

I agree!!! Rebecca, your skit was absolutely fantastic! I'm assuming everyone in your skit is from your area? I am fascinated by the whole thing. How fun and hope we can talk about it on the ship.

We don't have many plans for onboard activities. We have a couples massage booked and will probably try the different tasting sessions. Oh, and I would like to do tea with Wendy which I understand we have to sign up for. The girls and I like to play Bingo. DD got excited when she saw the movie selection previously posted. I don't remember Konk Koolers at CC...maybe I missed something? I'm going to look up some past navigators to get an idea of what is happening on the 7 day cruises.
Just need to get through tomorrow, which may well be my last day of work until we get back:dance3: I need to finish my FE gifts and start packing. Do a few more magnets...
A party the week before you sail! You are a brave woman! I don't know if I could do it all. Your special DH has a special DW.

I don't usually do sky ride types of activities, but we may do this one also. We are still very much up in the air as to what to do on St. Thomas.:confused3 I think a few people may have booked this one. Did everyone book this through Disney or on their own?
Everyone have a magical day!

Hi Everyone,
i am sure you are all getting really excited about your cruise as it is coming around really fast!
I am booked on the August 15th Tortola cruise so will await your reports with interest.
I wondered if someone would mind doing me a favour. I have a 19 month old and I am trying to find out what times Flounders is likely to be open on our cruise so I can plan things like Palo brunch and some time with our older child also I know the leaflet also lists what excursions can be taken while your child is in Flounders.
Here on the Dis there is a copy of a flounders opening times sheet
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/photos/Flounders-Reef-Nursery.html
but it is for an old Western. If anyone had chance I would love if someone would pick up the opening times leaflet and scan it in \ post a photo on their return.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.
Have a great cruise :)

How lucky are you! I have until next week. We leave Wednesday the 22nd.
Have a great time!
I booked the sky ride ride through Disney. It was the same price as booking from the company direct. It says " All day" - no meeting time. Anyone know how we get there? Walk? ( I hope) or take a cab? Anyone know for sure?:confused3

Most of them live in Southern California. I used to live in LA before moving to Texas 2 years ago. :)

From my research, the sky ride is very close to the port and it easily walkable. I'm assuming they will give you directions on how to walk there on your own.

I wish we were leaving this week! We are not leaving until the 24th so no fun time in Disney World for us this trip. I just don't have any work scheduled until the first week of May.:thumbsup2 But that could change with a phone call. I am a subcontractor in construction. It has slowed down, but since I am the final person through and get the properties ready for occupancy, I am sometimes the last to know and get frantic phone calls at the last minute.
I saw the map on the website and it looked fairly easy to walk to...the length of a very large cruise ship according to the map? http://www.stthomasskyride.com/location.html Looks like you can do this and take another short tour also.:confused3

I took the Magic to St Thomas a few years ago and I remember the tram being right by the ship. My sister and I did a boat to St. John and got back to the ship around lunch time. We changed and took a jitney town in St Thomas. We walked right past the tram. The jitneys hold a number of people and there are a lot of them and they leave right at the ship as I recall. You can go into town and grab one back - I forget the cost but it was cheap. It's an interesting experience - the roads are crowded.
I'm terrified of heights or I would consider it - it looks nice and it sounds like you can spend as little or as much time at the top as you want.
Tomorrow - laundry and getting started on the packing - :dance3:
Oh --a warning to those who don't drink much - I did the tequila tasting the last time and I'm not really a drinker -- my quiet table of people was very noisy by the end of the tasting and my sister and I sloshed back to our cabin and napped......:rotfl: - - we had fun tho.:woohoo: I was going to do the martini tasting this time but I think I'll skip it. I like Bingo.
As for tv shows - - I love Lost and American Idol. Gary likes those plus House and 24.

Hi Everyone,
We have a late flight home on Sat 6:55pm when we get back. I thought we might do Kennedy Space Center. I have also heard that Ron Jon's Hotel is very nice. Does anyone know if they have a day pass. I'm thinking something a little more relaxing than hoofing it around KSC. Anyone else have a late flight. Didn't think it was enough time to go up to WDW for the day, but maybe Downtown Disney if we can't get there earlier in the trip. Anybody ever hit crazy traffic headed back to MCO on Sat afternoon????
Thanks
PS Lisa pictures look great so far!!

Welcome Aboard!
I am hoping for a Palo ressie also. We booked late and everything was already booked. It is my understanding that we can check on reservations upon check-in..don't know exactly where to check on Palo reservations, or where to sign up...someone here probably knows. When we had our Palo Brunch reservations last trip, Palo was probably only 1/3 full if that. We were surprised. They even turned a couple away that didn't have reservations, but it was full to capacity at all. So I was surprised that there were no reservations when I booked.
Our girls are the same age! Hope we can meet up.

Just wanted to pop in and say that those of us heading to Tortola on the May 23rd cruise will be anxiously awaiting any reports!!
It IS an easy walk to the Sky Ride. After exiting the port shopping area, outside the fence, you just turn left and keep walking. You can't miss it. I don't think it even took us 5 minutes to get there. :thumbsup2

I think it's at the Rockin' D Bar when you get onboard. From what I read, not all of the reservations are available online, so there are always some that first day.

Our flight back is at 4:40 pm. We currently have DCL transfers but I'm toying around with the idea of getting a rental car and going to Downtown Disney before the airport too.
According to the Passporter book, you can easily spend 2 days at the Space Center so I don't want to go there for only a few hours and feel like I didn't get to do everything.
Another option is beaches near the port but considering DH already doesn't like beaches that much and we're visiting one at each port of call, I think we'll be beached out at that point!

Our morning tour does not include lunch, so I'm thinking that we will need to eat lunch at the top or at the bottom.;) What time would you like to meet? For lunch? Just for touring? I'm game:banana:

Perfect:thumbsup2 Still haven't packed anything:laughing: I'm trying to catch up with myself. At least I booked our excursions. I hope I can paddle a kayak for 15 minutes as I don't think the girls are going to be much help...hoping they surprise me! It will be an adventure either way.
I found another hanger for the back of the bathroom door today. It is a shoe holder that holds about 12 pairs of shoes. It will be great on the bathroom door as all the brushes, hair ties, shampoo, bar soap, etc can be stored in the hanger. A great organizer.
Single digits...ah...I am soooooo ready...after I get packed! We have a memorial service and 2 birthday parties this weekend....then I can focus:lmao:
I asked before, but noone answered: Does anyone here geocache?
I'm ready, I'm ready:woohoo: CKCruising...thanks so much for the updated list. You are awesome. I noticed the correction on Laura's age. I didn't even mention it and you must have picked up on it. Many thanks.

My DH loves to play cribbage. He would probably enjoy that he gets bored sitting by the pool.
I play. I am bringing a board and hope to teach my wife how to play during the week.

Tuesday I'm done with doctors and dentist so I'll start to really feel the pull of vacation time then :yay: I'm going to pack this weekend. It's going into the upper 70's tomorrow and sunny so it'll put me in the mood.
Let's all focus on beautiful weather the week of the cruise. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. I'm terrible remembering names so it's nice to have faces to focus on - I'll get the names put together with the faces by the time we leave the ship:laughing:

I was gonna ask, but then just assumed you'd be taking a row boat out on Friday and have us pick you up on Saturday. ;) We could hoist you out of the water like Jack Sparrow.
Side note (because I'm a nerd). I just went to see if I could book our cruise online with the same family parameters. There were Cat 5, 6, 8 and 9 available I think. I picked 5 and it was just about the same price I paid over a year ago and there were at least 7 rooms available near the forward elevators. Sounds like we'll have some elbow room on board!

It is really simple and I am not a tournament player that will not say anything. I just play friendly games were advise is free even if it gives points:rotfl2:
It is just somehting to do while doing nothing! We have a lot of sea time.

I wouldn't be sure on that. I've known two people who weren't allowed to board flights out of the US because their passports were due to expire after their scheduled return date, but not long after. They may see cruises differently. You might want to look further into that.

No, it's not you Dot - - - I am giggling as I read the entries. There is a definite giddiness. I'm even that way even tho I still have to pack and put together my FE's. I am the one that is ready weeks ahead usually, but it hasn't worked out. I'm of the mindset that it will get done even if I wear the same outfit for 2 weeks (since we have a WDW week after the cruise)....so I can't complain. Yes - - please put out all the positive energy for sunshine in the VI's. It's rained so much in Phila that all I care about is sunshine.

Right now I'm too tired to be giddy :goodvibes
I got our FE's finished this evening with a little help from DH :love:
I have all the extra items (FE's; shoe bag; door magnets for door; etc etc) in a box. Does that count for packing??? :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
I promise to be giddy when we leave BR on Friday morning heading to New Orleans to catch our flight, right after we drop "the boys" :dog::dog2:at the spa. That part always makes me sad.
Then it will be :banana::jumping1:party::jumping3::Pinkbounc:bounc e::tigger::donald::dogdance::dogdance::yay: !!

Don't worry Janie - I'm kind of in your predicament but I haven't done my FE's yet - -I'll get DD to help me on THursday since she has the day off :wizard:
My kitties don't get boarded but I leave them here to take care of the house - I expect them to clean and have a meal waiting for me when I get home :rotfl:. Well, I have 3 people lined up to feed them but it IS hard to leave them - they already recognize the suitcases and have that depressed look on their faces.
I'll dance again on the computer but the real dancing doesn't begin til we get to Florida:cloud9:

I'm sure I changed something, but the easiest might be to change the print setup on your side. What program are you trying to print from?

Chris, thanks for the inspiration! I actually copied the image and put it in a Publisher doc and it printed just fine. And I put it on legal paper so the image is a little larger - better for old eyes :cool1::cool1:

How is giving rats medication? I would guess it's worse than cats and that's pretty painful.

Well, I guess everyone is winding up with preparation. I did some magnet stuff for our door last night but I'm not an artistic person but I'll be brave and put them up:thumbsup2
I guess some people have already headed south and others will be doing so in the next few days. I don't want to miss anyone so I'll wish everyone well - safe trips - and soon we will be sailing away from all problems and soaking up sun -- did you hear me??? SUN!!!!!! Focus :goodvibes
I'll be checking the boards the next two days but I'll see you all on Saturday at 3 or maybe even before (I'm going to print out the pictures and see if I can recognize you before you recognize me)

I am going to say "SEE Y'ALL REAL SOON" as we have a busy day today before we get up a 3 am and depart at 6:15 am tomorrow morning.
Yes, you can bring your own beach towels, but if you use the large bathroom towels, you do not have to worry about them (on Castaway Cay) if you forget to pick them up.
As for the other excursions, I really don't know:confused3 and we are doing water things:lmao:

Should we bring our own beach towels?
You can bring your own, but Disney will let you take a few of their towels. They are not "beach" towels per se, they are plain white absorbant bath towels. Or you can see it as a souvenior opportunity and buy one on the ship or at port!

As adnil530 said, you can use Disney's pool towels. Just pick them up at the pool before you leave for your excursion and make sure you bring them back!

Hi - we just got back from the Magic on Sat. 4/18. Once we boarded the ship, the CM's were pushing water packages....$25 for 24 Evian bottles of water. That was a special for just that day. The package is usually $35 for 20 bottles of water. We decided to go for it!

Wow -- a lot of birthdays :) We should ask for one giant cake :).
I am just starting to pack now -- never been this late before so I also am :scared1: freaked. We leave for the airport at 9:30 tomorrow. Gary and I said this morning we figure it will be Sunday when we finally feel relaxed and it hits us that vacations has begun. Happy travelling to all!
Oh - Dot -- I couldn't believe it when you mentioned the clouds. When I fly into Orlando I always see Disney characters in the clouds and feel they are there to greet me and I get so excited. Now I know I am right :)
Thanks to those who gave me the water bottle info.
Back to packing -- way too much to bring as usual. If anyone out there knows - do you know of a drug store or walmart or something that is near the port? I can't sleep without a fan so we usually buy a little one when we get there and I want to get a few things that I don't want to pack.

Hope everyone arrives home safely. I know some are going to Disney first (Hope they have great time)
We really enjoyed meeting so many of you. Felt like we have known you for long time.
The shows were the best we have every seen. We went to everyone but one. They were fabulous. Our table mates were special.
We enjoyed every minute of the cruise, but I think the FEs were loads of fun. We walked 2 miles delivering ours (got lost once). But it was well worth it. When we cruise again I hope we have a great group like this one. I was amazed at how many gifts we got. It was like Christmas, everytime we came to our cabin we were looking in our FE and most of the times there was a nice surprise. I wish I could have seen some of the youngsters looking in their pockets. Please let us know how you and the youngsters reacted.

We had a blast chatting with you!
Thank you all for the fabulously FUN FE gifts. Ashley had so much fun checking her FE for presents each and every time we went to our room. Every time she would get something out she would say "thank you nice people" :) She had a blast with it - and loved delivering the presents just as much as receiving them!
A special thank you to the light up crown giver :) It was a BIG hit in our cabin :dance3:
Thank you to everyone who participated - you made our magical cruise all the more MAGICAL!
Until next time :grouphug:

Connor (and Everyone) loved to check the FE. Even when there was nothing new (rarely), he would bring something back out and put it in and say we got mail.
Thanks to everyone who participated. It was nice to meet everyone.
Rebecca, you make an excellent (sexy) pirate :thumbsup2...unless there was another asian couple dressed as pirates on 6.
Bob and Dale, Thanks for introducing us to Gordy (next time I have some FE ideas for him...I hope he got something too) and for talking us into booking our next cruise onboard. We are on the Nov. 27th, 2010 Western. I would have liked the Transatlantic to Dover, but 14 days was just too long.
Tracy, I hope everyone, especially Christopher had a magical cruise. I didn't realize that you were from Canada until your FE gift and then seeing you on the flight home.
It was wierd having just toast for breakfast this morning...the start of my diet I guess.
Back to laundry and scanning some of my 23 pictures I bought. If nobody has done the Navigators by the end of the week, I should have some time to scan them in too.

For those of you who I met, it was great meeting you and talking to you. Sorry if I didn't meet everyone. Got home safe yeaturday about 5pm, I was able to change out flights for earlier ones. And it worked out, just won't be flying a certain airline again.
The trip was fantastic, did not want to come home. I am now planning another cruise. But back to reality!!!

Wow, what a quick trip. We had a fantastic time. Didn't get a chance to meet and talk to everyone as I had hoped. Enjoyed our dining mates Leslie, Mary, Kelsey & Sarah and was able to meet up and enjoy a wonderful meal with Paula & Kip.
The FE gifts were fantastic. The girls, Mike & I were always surprised when we went back and found our gifts! A lot of work went into the Scrapbook Keepsake, I really appreciate someone putting that together for us:lovestruc We even startled a few gift givers:rolleyes1: Janie! The door magnets: I really enjoyed looking at the door magnets. Congrats again Lisa & Terry on your Marriage!
We met Dot & Harry, QRS & dvc2themax at port before we boarded and so many others in passing. lsutigger2, Hoosiercruiser, Nascar8820, Calcruisers...enjoyed our small talk in the corridors and I apologize if I forgot anyone, I enjoyed talking with everyone.
Thanks so much for all the advice prior to the trip. We had a funtastic time and made a few friends  and would be happy to cruise with any of you again.:grouphug:

The FE were a big hit with all of us. Loved the Pirate sticky notes, the Mouse pad and Scrapbook/photo albums. Thank You to everyone.

When you have time, please share your highlights from the trip.......I need your help.......what was your favorite FE? You can PM me if you want, I'm trying to get inspired for our upcoming Tortola cruise in July....any ideas would be appreciated!!:goodvibes
The cruise was soooo awesome! I didn't want to leave!! We're still unpacking slowly. We bought so much stuff!! The FE gifts were fantastic as well! I'll be working on my reports and photos soon! But I want to get back on the Magic right now!!
Everyone - It was great meeting everyone on the first day and seeing you throughout the cruise!!
sandyrella - Thanks again for organizing the wristbands! We loved wearing them and seeing them all over the ship!
dvc2themax - It was such a great experience dining with your family!! You guys are such wonderful people!
ametaldiva - It was awesome seeing you and Danny everywhere!! You both were a great part of our vacation!!
CKCruising - LOL! Yes, that would have been us Asian pirates on Deck 6!! THANKS!! Thanks again for the FE map and the full list of cruisers from this thread! The map was essential in planning our route for deliveries and I used the list for the roll call at the meet!

I wanted to say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to you all. We had a great time on our first Disney Cruise and our little girl had a blast. Even though I didn't see many of you throughout the cruise, you made our vacation very special with the FE gifts and all the tips in preparation for it. Every so often we'd run into someone and that was so fun to see a familiar face. Amelia kept checking our gifts and was surprised every time (not very often was it empty). They were all very special to us.
I gave one of the scrapbooks (the black one) and I hope you enjoy them and use them. I was a little worried though because I came home with a few, so if I missed you, please let me know and I will send it to you. Our delivery on the ship was a little dicey, LOL!
We hope to do a cruise again. Amelia wanted to know if we could go next week. :rotfl:

Gloria & i had a great time. We were so excited when we came back to the room & find tresures in a FE. We were like little children on Christmas. It was a job delivering ours goodies. I think I did deck 8 3 times before I found the to end cabins. Finaly a CM took the far forward one for me. I just could;t find it. thank-you every one for the nice treures, some people had great handmade items.
I had fun wearing all my different shirts.
we were off the ship before 8 & was able to get to the airport in no time. we had an 11:45 flight. We arrived in Philly, Pa at 2:10 & i was home before 3:30
we want to thank everyone for all the time spent working on the ship helpers, Maps, FE list ect.

Glad everyone is making it home safely.
We just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making this another magical "DIS" cruise. Sorry we missed the meet & greet but the pool/hottub was calling.

Yep, it was hard getting back into the work groove :sad2: Have hit it hard this week so I haven't had time to thank everyone for all the great fe's!! Tom and I had such fun delivering the items and seeing everyone's extenders and doors! I think he had more fun looking for the goodies each day than I did.
Who says you have to grow up???????
It was a great cruise and we loved getting to meet and know several of you. I'm sorry that we didn't get to meet more of you, maybe on another cruise.
I did get prints made of my pictures and they are in a photo album. All the other stuff is on the dining room table where I'm sure it will sit for a bit.:rotfl:

Looks just like the one I have.
I had a free 8x10 made at Walmart of the group picture so I could see it better. Everyone looks super I just wish I could put more names to the faces.
It was great fun seeing Queen 2 s t shirts everyday. And our tablemates Janie and Tom and Sandy and Gary were so gracious to us. Took real good care of us. Were lots of fun and great conversation
If anyone is going to Walmart the coupon for free 8 x 10 is in their flyer just type in the barcode and they give it to you free.

We did sign up for our next cruise but since it won't be until 2011 we just did a space saver in Dec. 2010. Can't wait to see where the new ships are going or even the Wonder.

Got back from the cruise, took a day to recover and got the "regular" flu plus ear and sinus infection. Still recovering, but took all my energy that I had from the cruise and threw it away! Getting strength back. Had to take 2 days off work after being out for 7 days already.
The FE gifts were great and my 15 year old was like the little kids, always looking to see what else the fairy dust brought.
Have not had time to go through the pictures to see what I am going to print out to put in the album yet.
Have unpacked and the suitcases are so SAD and want to go more more. Now deciding what do do for vacation next year - WDW or cruise.
Met a few people that I hopefully can stay in touch with - Rebecca and Chris out table mates (so interesting), Mike and Linda (wish we had more time to chat), Janie and Tom (again nice people), saw Rick, Sanei, and Q a few times in passing. Danny & michele and Tizbear met in the port but never saw on the ship! And 2 families we met 2 years ago was great to see them again - Trings and dadlvsdisney.
Have some great ideas for next FE gifts from what was given this time around that I would not have thought to do. The homemade scrap books, precious and what a keep sake!
have to go to work now and dig myself out of the overflow.

Hi -- It's Monday the 11th and we got back from WDW last night. I am now at the place everyone else was last week. We had a wonderful cruise and it was so nice meeting everyone. I wish we had been able to talk to more of you. The group picture is great! Thanks for all the wonderful FE gifts -- like others have said, it was like Christmas every time went back to our cabin. I felt like a little kid :).
Our table mates were great and really made the trip extra fun for us.
Our trip to WDW was great - it was sunny and very hot. We rested a lot by the pool.
I am just unpacking and doing wash and sleeping in between. Gary dragged himself off to work this morning - we are still in shock that we are home but were thrilled to see our kitties. I can't wait to see pictures and hope to get to mine later this week. I'll write more later - I was just anxious to look on the boards and see how people were doing. i hope everyone is doing well!
