So, is everyone else happy with these new faster DIS servers? :rotfl2:
This board is moving extremely slow.
Maybe with the new servers they can also get the time correct.

Karen,
They're not called BOB's. BOB's are if you foil someones FO.
This would be a "mini" milestone. Since the thread will go tens of thousands of posts, each 10,000 will be milestones. However, get 10 mini's and we'll count it as a "full" milestone.
Congrats Chris.

:confused3 That's how Roberto brought it out to me, in fact he brought me out two dishes because he knew it was my favorite. I also had two lobster tails that night, and I even lost 5 pounds during that cruise. The first five days my throat was so sore, I couldn't eat anything. Thursday night was the first time I could actually eat solid food during the cruise, so I surely made up for it!!! :rotfl:

I guess it came from out of the blue, I never asked why we were invited. It was funny though. We had to meet Ray from Guest Services by the forward elevators on deck 8 at 4:30. Ray came up to me and said, "Good Afternoon Mr. Verandah Man, I'll be taking you and your group to see the captain in a few minutes" everyone in my family started to chuckle when they heard that.

What did you think of We Are Marshall? We recently went through Huntington and stopped at several of the sites in the movie: fountain, field, cemetery, etc.
Of course we thought it should have won the ESPY for sports movie of the year instead of Talladega Nights!:sad1:
We both thought it was a great movie :thumbsup2 Very sad but still, we both loved it. I got REALLY sad when they showed the father of the boy at his son's funeral and then they zoomed over to the other grave :sad1: I won't say who in case I spoil it for anyone but I was BALLING!!!
Talladega Nights won an ESPY over Marshall??? What???
Ellis' concert went well.:cutie:
He was a "jammin egyptian" to start with and then a shepherd in the nativity scene.
I tried to get photos but he kept turning and I got the back of his head most of the time:rolleyes:

The first hour (or so) they brought back the 14 people who were voted off leading up to the Final 4, and the person with the highest weight loss percentage won $100,000 that went to Jim with just over 50% of total weight loss, he was one of the twins that were on the show. The second hour the Final 4 were brought back for their weigh-in, and Bill, with a little over 49% total weight loss, the other twin, was The Biggest Loser and won the $250,000. Bill, beat out Julie, by just 5 pounds for the win. http://www.nbc.com/The_Biggest_Loser
The new season starts on January 1, 2008 with it being ten couples on the show.

Seems like everyone is busy with concerts/programs, etc. Us too - Thomas had his daycare/preschool Christmas program last night. It was SO cute! He actually sang this year too! Tonight we're baking cookies and wrapping gifts!
Becky - I hope your daughter feels better soon!
Andy - I hadn't watched Biggest Loser yet! That's ok, I've been really annoyed this season. I really did not like any members of the black team, so when it was all of them in the finals, I didn't care as much. My personal fave was Kae - she had such a good spirit and attitude! There should be a "congeniality award" on that show - she would have won it!
Well, off to go do some work...I'll stop by later.

I flet like I should have been with their group since I had my cane with me today........ I knew we would be doing a lot of walking in the mall, so I took my cane for support. There are days I feel like I could use my cane at work, but I don't think that would look very good me walking around reading meters and holding on to a cane, oh well.......:rotfl:
The township gave us our bi-week pay a little early this year, we were scheduled to receive it on 1/2/08. I took some of those extra $$ and just applied it to the 10/24/09 cruise. I'm happy to say, our cruise is now 1/2 paid for!!! :goodvibes
Hazel and I also bought Angelina a couple more "surprise" gift for Christmas. These were things that weren't on her list that we knew she would flip over once she opens them. No, my kid doesn't get spoiled, not one little bit........:rotfl2: Hazel and I also picked up a couple things for each other as well, I got new work boots for myself, oh joy!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Well, I've got some bills that need my attention, so I had better get off here and take care of them. Our car insurance is due 12/24, what a nice time to have to pay that bill.........
Hey Jen, are there any other shows I can spoil the ending for you??? ;) ;) ;) :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

We're staying the Disneyland Hotel Friday and Saturday and hope to get Disney transport down to the port on Sunday morning. Mini meet on Friday or Saturday night anyone?
It would have to be Friday for us since we will not be at DL on Saturday (I won't go near that park on a weekend day). We are planning on driving south and doing something in the San Diego area.
What rate did you get for the DL Hotel? We stayed there once and Suz loved it. We had a rate for Paradise Pier in the summer of 2006 for only $135. Hoping something like that comes up again.

Pooh, I really wanted a girl to win and was rooting for Julie
Becky
Hope your daughter feels better soon, I will keep my fingers crossed that the rest of the family does not get it for Christmas
Becky - I hope your daughter feels better soon!
Thanks girls, she is doing better, went and got her some won ton soup which is her favorite. She needs to go to school though she is missing her finals.

General question for anyone....
Does anyone know the name of a less expensive version of Photoshop? Seems like my family is scrambling now to buy me a Christmas gift and they are all too late in getting anything on my list. PROCRASTINATORS!!!:lmao:
I believe that the program you are referring to is Photoshop Elements. It has many of the best aspects of Photoshop with an user friendly interface. I use it and it's pretty good.

I didn't explain myself very well I'm afraid, I didn't mean I felt old like them, it was just the fact that most of the seniors came in using canes and walkers, and since I had my cane with me, I felt I kind of fit into their group..............:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm just sitting here waiting for Angelina to call back, she went in to cover for another co-worker who was running late getting to work. Angelina was supposed to be done at 10pm, she just called and said the other girl still hasn't shown up. Because of Angelina's age, she is not permitted to work past 11pm on a school night. I hope she gets done before that though, because it's getting near dad's bedtime...........

I was one of those parents that wouldn't let Devin work during school. Most of it was because of his grades. We lucked out though and my parents gave him their 94 Accord when he graduated, so I don't have to worry about the picking up thing.
By the way Andy loved the choir pictures. I was in band (well I was part of the pagentry unit) and choir. I think it is what made high school bearable for me. In fact I with 3 other people sang at our graduation. Miss those days.
Karen the shepard picture was adorable. Love the little demon eyes.
I miss the little kid pagents too. We don't have those at my school.:confused3 :sad2:

It was a joyous one minute and tragic the next minute in Northern CA today.
There was a family that was lost in the Sierras that was found today. It was a Dad and his 3 kids. Then while all the relief and happiness of them being found was on the news, it was interrupted by a Deputy being shot in Sacramento. Unfortunately the deputy died. This one as you all know hits close to home. Even though it wasn't Sean's department, whenever this is on the news I always get a pit in my stomach. It was this time about 10 years ago that Sean's friend was killed on duty. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Please add these 2 families to your prayers tonight.

She also knows that after Christmas her hours are going to be cutback, so she is trying to take advantage of getting in some extra hours now.
After the first of the year, practice for her high school Spring musical begins, her working hours will really be cutback then. This will be Angelina's third and final musical, this year her school is doing The King and I. She doesn't know it yet, but I went on eBay and ordered her a video copy of the King and I for Christmas. I also did this the past two years with the other musicals the school did, so I guess she probably figures I'm doing it again this year.

The Man Rules...http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/scared003.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)
Atlast a guy has taken the time to write this all down Finally,
the guys' side of the story.
(I must admit, it's pretty good.)
We always hear
'the rules '
From the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.
Please note.. these are all numbered '1 '
ON PURPOSE!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports It's like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1 Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problemonly if you want help solving it. That's what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.
Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the
other one
1. You can either ask us to do something
Or tell us how you want it done.
Not both.
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials..
1. Christopher Columbus did
NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colours, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not
Acolour. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have
no idea what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will
be scratched.
We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say 'nothing,' We will act like nothing's wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really
.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball
or
golf.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape.
Round IS a shape!
1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight;
But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping!....

I think that invite went out over a month ago, the people who were selected to host the parties were notified last evening. I found a person that was selected that lives less than minutes from me, I sent her a message to see if she was going to be inviting outsiders to her party. Angelina just called a short while ago, they are having a second bomb scare threat within the past 10 days, all the kids and staff were evacuted to the football stadium. Hazel and I just rode past the school on our way home from grocery shopping, the school is blocked off by the police and we saw the kids still sitting in the stadium. What rate did you get for the DL Hotel? We stayed there once and Suz loved it. We had a rate for Paradise Pier in the summer of 2006 for only $135. Hoping something like that comes up again.
Friday sounds good to us. Firm up details nearer the time. We used DVC points for DL hotel. The pictures on the pirate site look amazing.
We're staying at the Grand Californian, we will be coming on early on Friday and hitting the parks both days. Great thing about not bringing the kids the crowds don't matter too much. So I am up for either day. Heather we will be taking the Disney transportation as well, it was $30 pp one way

Luckily, it is sunny and about 50* today.
Well by now I am sure it is all over. Brrr, can't imagine having all those kids out in the cold like that, but at least the school did something.
(By the way, we were told by the Asst. Superintendent that is was the Sheriff's that decided that we didn't need to evac. They didn't feel that the call was a true threat. Now I know they are the experts, but they aren't psychic.:confused3 )

We booked ours a couple of months ago as a add on to our cruise, Dreams is our TA this time.
Thanks Becky - I think we'll have a word with our TA and see if they can add it on. Disney quote £79.00, but as we booked the hotel through DVC they said we have to arrange ground transportation ourselves.
Happy Christmas everyone.
Been out and about today on my first day off work. Went to the flower market at 4.30am as I have a few floral tributes and arrangements to do over the weekend.
Also went food shopping, which took an age and then went to the hairdressers for well needed cut and blowdry. My hair was last cut just before KK1.
Anyway, home now and relaxing with The Grumpy One. Our Christmas plans have changed as Rick's parents are no longer coming for Christmas. Thier dog is not very well, and they said that they won't be vary good company. My brother has asked us to go to them for the day, so we will have a quiet day with them.

Good afternoon everyone. It is a very sunny day here in CA, but a bit nippy, well nippy for us thin skinned west coasters. I am officially off for the next week.:cool1: The staff had a wonderful morning, we had a breakfast potluck as everyone wanted to get out at noon with the kids. My staff as always was very generous, I think I wound up with 4 or 5 Starbucks cards, which should last for a bit as come January 1st the diet (or lifestyle change ;) )starts.
Carrie, have a very Merry Christmas, give our love to Scott and the kids.

Mike thanks for asking about Al  He is back on the blood thinners because when you are in atrial fib there is increased risk of stroke. Once they have his blood thinned to the point they'd like, which he is almost at now, they want him to continue like that for a month and then they will increase one of his medications and use the paddles and shock his heart again to hopefully get the heart beat back in a normal rhythym and hopefully it will stay that way this time. If that doesn't work we'll talk again about them trying the cardiac ablation again. So right now were just kind of waiting. For the most part he feels OK, he's just more tired and doesn't have as much stamina and gets a little short of breath at times but his symptoms aren't bad at all compared to some people have with this.

Rach is very happy to be off of school! All the excitement must have worn her out though because she and I came home from a hair appointment around 7 and she had fallen asleep in the car on the way home and the when we got home she fell asleep again and has been sleeping since.
Glad you're getting hings sorted:hug: - he's in my thoguhts and prayers

..............Good Morning Folks!!!
I've got to get our DD up in a few minutes as she has a very busy day today. Angelina wound up being scheduled at both Icing 9am-2pm and at Build-a-Bear 3pm-8pm today. At least she has an hour between shifts so she can catch her breath and get something to eat. I told her she only has a few more days, then she must decide which store she wants to stay working at. From the way she was talking last night, I think she might be staying on at Build-a-Bear, but she has surprised me in the past with some of her decisions, so we will just have to wait and see what she decides.
I'll check in later, have a good Saturday all..............

I wish. I have to go to the Outlaws and Suz won't let me bring the Wii, even though everyone would have fun. That is the gift from Santa to the family.
My idea of a nice holiday is to sleep in, stay in my jammies all day with the fireplace going and watch a few movies.
Only thing better would be to be on a vacation (more specifically the Magic :thumbsup2 ).
Storms a brewing here. We're suppose to get mainly rain and maybe 1"-3" of snow. Up where Janice and Mark are, one forecast said 4"-8", while another said 8+". :scared1:
Kinda wish some of that snow would come down here. I would like 4"-6" of snow (I made sure I added the "of snow" to that for you sicko's :rotfl2: ).

Afternoon Andy.
I love going to the movies as well on Xmas. Suz and I did that prior to having DS.
I do remember once in college my family went to Green Bay to visit my grandma (the ones who didn't live here stayed at their houses) and I went to the movies all by myself. Sat in the back row of the theatre. Pretty sad sight, but I liked the movie (no, I don't remember what I saw).

I just transferred out our Repo cruise and got $400 OBC (cats 8-12, we're in 9). Cats 1-7 got $600.
I believe there was an area that asked for country when I was doing it.
Let me know, I can email you the email I got from them that had the link.

There were many Christmases that it was just Sean, my friend Emily and I.
Just Sean and I in the AM then Emily came for a quiet dinner, just the 3 of us.
After dinner we'd play a game, do a jigsaw puzzle or watch a movie together.
Boy do I miss that already!
Now that I'm spending the holiday with Bob's family, there are a few who are making things VERY difficult and uncomfortable and other's who like to loudly discuss or disagree (they say.... I say ARGUE!) at the dinner table!
It's making this Christmas very depressing for the both of us....
long story....... perhaps I'll share some other time, but...
man, I knew why I couldn't stand it when MY family used to get together!
And all those years that I wished that I had a boyfriend and family to share the holidays with.... well........
Gosh, now I'm wishing we were staying home and hanging out in our jammies and watching movies!
I envy those of you who are doing the small family thing and going to the movies!:thumbsup2

Yea, I think that would be a good choice also!!!
OK, I've about had it with this mall traffic.
I had to drop Hazel off at Friendly's at 4pm. We left the house at 3:30 for the 10 minute ride, it's a good thing we did, because I was dropping Hazel off out front of Friendly's at exactly 4pm. The traffic is absolutely horrible around the mall area. I'm hoping it empties out a little before I have to go back to pick up Angelina from work. A few ladies, from our church, that Hazel was meeting didn't get to Friendly's until about 4:30. They were having ice cream, then going to deliver Christmas packages to some families.
Angelina was scheduled to work at Icing from 9-2, but at 11 the manager said she could leave because they had too many people on the floor and business was slower than they expected. Angelina went and got something to eat, then the poor kid went and sat in the backroom at B-a-B until her shift started there at 3pm. I asked why she didn't call for me to come get her(only 10 minutes away right, see message above), but she said she didn't feel like coming home for a couple of hours, and then have to go back out again. Good thinking there kiddo!!!
OK, I'm getting hungry, so I've got to go find something to eat. Luckily for me, one of the ladies that Hazel is with, is going to drop her off here at our house after they are finished delivering the packages.
