Anyone else not getting the emails from the DISboards? Near as I can tell, I've not been getting emails since 12/24 telling me of new postings. I checked my preferences and the correct check boxes are checked and the correct email address is listed and yet, I've not been getting them.

Steve, no one has been receiving any e-mail notifications since the new servers took over. I read the problem was being looked into by WebmasterAlex.

Karen I know what you mean sweetie, I really need to kick my diet into gear after what I have eaten over the past few weeks...............

My dessert last evening at Red Lobster was a Large Warm Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie covered with ice cream, and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Our waiter asked how I enjoyed it, and I told him it was sinfully good, LOL!!!

Happy 2008 everyone!

We celebrated over at a friend's house with a bunch of our friends - very low-key. One of our friends made Beef Wellington for the group - yum!

This morning we'll be watching the WI Badgers in a bowl game...then over to our friends' again!

Mine starts on Thursday after my mom leaves for AZ again - then I can start getting over to the Y for workouts. I have gained back quite a bit and I'm not too happy about it. I haven't been logging my progress on the yahoo site, but I'll start being honest next week:)

That's like 10 degrees for us - they'll be cold!

We honeymooned at WDW in Jan. '99, and it was in the 50's all week. The poor CM's were all freezing! We had our winter coats, with linings zipped out, it was perfect!

My diet officially restarts tomorrow too. I need to get back into the routine of exercising again too.

Jen I haven't been plotting my progress (or lack of progress I should say) on the Yahoo sight either. I am starting that again this week too. I am debating on which day of the week I should have as my official weigh in day, I don't think it matters what day you pick. It seems like last time most KKers were weighing in Fri. or Sat.

Planning a Disney trip does help make the wait more bearable  Have you checked out the DIS Disneyland boards yet? I have been watching the WDW trip planning board to see what people were saying about crowds at WDW this Christmas, I am hoping that will help with planning our trip to WDW for next Christmas.

You're right there is something very special about being on the Magic!

Went to my brothers last night to see in the new year. Tried to wish you all a hapy one before I went, but there was something wrong with the DIS.

Jeff - I thought the answer to your question was Commodore Norington or Calypso.

Becky - Hope you can still make 2009. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

KK losers - I'll be joining you all with the big lose. My trousers are tights after all the christmas and new year food. So this is one of my new years resoluations.

What games do you all recommend for the Wii and are 2 controllers necessary?

JLDSMD
01-01-2008, 01:37 PM
Well the Badgers just sucked up the place and lost.

Granted it was only by 4 points, but when Tennessee need to convert a 3rd down (whether it was 4, 8 or even 15 yards), the got it. And the Badgers offensive line couldn't keep Donovan from getting killed today.

The refs missed a ton of calls too.

Sad day in for WI. Good thing the Packers don't play for about 10 days, cause another loss by a WI team would really put me over the top.

Good thing my TV costs too much or there would have been something thrown through the screen today.

I don't recall Calypso trying to kill him in any of the previous movies and was Norrington even there when they went to rescue him?

My answer would definitely be yes. You can't play against someone without the second one. Make sure you get an extra numchuck (sp?), you'll need it for boxing and a few other games.

Found this though Google:

"The 4th was Tia Dalma. She's known Jack since they were teens and had an affair of sorts at some point in their history which lead to some kind of homicide attempt on her part. Watch the film when he's going to each person saying who can go with him out of the Locker, when he gets to her, you can see the tension in revealing that she was one of the 4."

Add 4 pounds for me. I just got on the scale. I am actually not too disappointed because I ate many many many sweets ( and some crawfish too) over the holidays. I will begin weighing in on Fridays from now on--starting this Friday I guess....yuck!:headache:

Maybe it won't be too hard to lose a few pounds at first for me. I go on the 2nd for oral surgery--ouch!:scared1:

Happy New Year Paige and family. Back to the scales Thursday. I am not looking forward to it. I am going to get back on track today. Well really tomorrow. Walt made chicken and sausage gumbo, potato salad and rice. cant wait. Diane

What games do you all recommend for the Wii and are 2 controllers necessary?

Heather - get the wii play game - it comes with a free remote. Gamestation have it at the moment online - you have to buy a "package" - a memory card - but you'll need one anyway. Slightly cheaper that way. You will need a 2nd numchuck. I ordered mine from Game - arrived safely. Most stores by us are all sold out of everything. Good games are wario smooth moves and Carnival - both have you out your chair and moving.

Sounds delicious:banana: - I have no willpower:rolleyes1

:cheer2: Wishing all you BOB's a Happy and Healthy 2008!!:cheer2:

How did Nancy get that cool Bob bottle siggy?

Thanks Robin. i am trying VERY hard. It gets frustrating sometimes cause I just want to eat more of my normal foods and know I can't have them. Turkey and grilled chicken have become my staple foods. I love them on a normal day but they tend to get old. But i keep thinking to myself nothing tastes as good as being skinny will feel!!!

If I have chicken/turkey - flatten it out a little then crumble just a teeny tiny bit of stilton inside and fold it over/roll it up. It makes such a difference and gives a lovely taste for very few calories. I'll be stocking up on chicken breasts today at the shops - its so easy to get bored of them though:rolleyes:

Karen, I got Photoshop Elements for Christmas and I was playing a little with it. All I did was add the text.

Stilton is a cheese that is made in England; it is made in two varietals: the commonly known blue and the less common white. I've never eaten it but if you like blue cheeses it's supposed to be very good.

Sorry folks - I thought you had it over there. I know you have "mouldy" cheese *** I had some on Brenda's scrummy cheese platter onboard.

Brenda got it right:thumbsup2 - trust the foodie!:goodvibes

Its a hard strong blue cheese - delicious and you hardly need any. You have hard blue cheese in USA - Just use that if its a strong flavour. Slice the chicken breast open or bash it thin and then sprinkle on a teeny bit of blue cheese and then cook in the oven.

Absences are a big problem for us, too. My favorite is when a child who misses a lot has his parents call for his homework. We all take time to get the work together and send it with books to the office and no one bothers to pick it up!

We just decided to do this over Christmas this year. Mom lives in AZ for the winter, but comes home to WI for a couple of weeks over Christmas. In 2008, we're going to her instead. After being so excited, I'm sorry I left you hanging about the game. Shortly after halftime, DS had an allergic reaction to either the medicine at the dentist office or the dye in all the push-ups he ate during the game. Dentist told him to eat lots of ice cream.

2 days in a row of cancelled school  Rachel will be soooo jealous. Today is her first day back to school.

I hope your DS is feeling better!

After being so excited, I'm sorry I left you hanging about the game. Shortly after halftime, DS had an allergic reaction to either the medicine at the dentist office or the dye in all the push-ups he ate during the game. Dentist told him to eat lots of ice cream.

We watched the end of the game in the ER on the Internet with the nurses.

We're out of school again today and we're watching DS swelling go down. Need to run out to the pharmacy now to get prescriptions.

Have a good day!

Hi Jen! I have only been to Disneyland one time and that was waaaaaaaaay back in 1985. I would love to get there one day, especially because my husband has never been and I think it's always a good idea to visit the place where the magic was born. :goodvibes

You should check out the Disneyland forums here on the DIS if you haven't already - there is probably some good info there. Your dining choices on property are probably a lot smaller than they are at WDW, which could make life easier or more difficult depending on how you look at it.

I'm not sure, but I think the only "signature" restaurant they have at DL is Napa Rose. It's supposed to be very good from what I've seen.

You should try Brennans over in Downtown Disney - mmmmmm, Banana's Foster! :cloud9:

Actually I think it's called Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, but if it's anything like the original Brennan's in New Orleans the food will be great.

My name is Becky and I am a BOBaloser, well hoping to be at least. ;) I started on WW yesterday, and I know where I am starting :scared1: . But we all have to start somewhere right.

We have a big storm coming into CA tonight. We have had a few sprinkles so far, but we are supposed to get the 40 mph winds and a bunch of rain starting tonight through tomorrow. Poor Sean has a night range tomorrow night, we'll be searching for the rain gear tonight.

Well color me green with envy with everyone going to WDW for Christmas next year.

Hello again,

I'm Tanya and I want to be a BOBaloser, too. I've gone to the gym two days in a row. My other effort is not eating anything after 6 p.m. and drinking water. I'm doing pretty good sticking to it in 2008. :thumbsup2

My new favorite drink is one part pomegranate juice and five parts water. A little kick and good for me too. I like using cranberry juice too. Not nearly as sweet (or expensive) as all athe flavored waters out there.

That's my stuntgirl jumping off the couch on purpose! We just got that couch in her play room a few weeks ago and Rob put her bean bag chair in front of it so that if she falls, she would have some padding. Well on day 1 she stood on the edge of the couch and dove into the bean bag. Sooooo, thinking I was being smart, I moved the bean bag chair so she wouldn't do that....guess what? She stood at the top of the couch and dove onto the floor! I then moved the bean bag chair right back where it was! :rolleyes1

She also stands up on her trike/rocker thing like she's doing stunts!! She's now our Kamikaze Kira :rotfl:

They are supposed to be made to make your muscles in your legs and fanny work harder. I don't know if I walk a lot in them I come home and sit down and the muscles are jumpin. (Be nice boys) They are a bit spendy but you can get them at bath and bodyworks website.

Chip and Dale are favorites of mine, so when I saw this litho the other day, I knew I just had to go after it. After it arrives, I'm going to have it framed like the other DCL lithos I have. Only trouble is, I didn't get to sleep until after 1am this morning, and boy am I paying for it now.........:lmao:

Do you like peanut butter cups?

Stir a teaspoon or two of peanut butter into a sugar-free, fat-free chocolate pudding cup.

Hi, I'm Jen, and I want to be a BOBaloser too!

Yum - this sounds great! I love peanut butter cups, so I'll have to try this!

My tip is something to look for in your grocery store - merengues by Miss merengue. They are not marked as low-fat or "diet", but they are pretty low in points. The mint chocolate chip ones are good - they're very sweet and take care of my sweet tooth.

We ate at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen at Disneyland and it was very good :thumbsup2 They Banana's Foster was very yummy!

You should try Brennans over in Downtown Disney - mmmmmm, Banana's Foster! :cloud9:

Actually I think it's called Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, but if it's anything like the original Brennan's in New Orleans the food will be great.

He's hanging in there, still playing the waiting game. His blood is thinned to the level they want it for 2 weeks now so that means if it stays that way and it should, unless he eats too much spinich, they will be able to do the procedure on his heart in another 2-3 weeks. Thanks for asking!

Tanya I have newly discovered that I really like pomegranite juice, I'm going to have to try adding a little of it to water.

My new favorite drink is one part pomegranate juice and five parts water. A little kick and good for me too. I like using cranberry juice too. Not nearly as sweet (or expensive) as all athe flavored waters out there.

:cool1: I bet he was happy. How is his arm feeling? Is it still sore at all? Rach boke her wrist twice and it still bothers her at times.

Bryce got his cast off last week.

Here girls...

A low cal snack...

A fat-free chocolate graham cracker with sugar-free whipped topping in the middle. Put it in the freezer for about 1 hour, and it will tast like an ice-cream sandwich with hardly any calories. :woohoo:

Of course this isn't diet-friendly, but try stirring mini M&M's into a spoonful of peanut butter!

Anyone hear from LindyLooHoo? :surfweb:

Not for a while. The last time I heard from her, I had to email her directly. It seems she is on a time clock when logging on to the computer at the library, so she seldom gets on the DIS.:sad1:

Last I heard, they were trying to move back into their house in March, so maybe she'll be back on the DIS at that time. If so, we'll have to bombard her with "persuasion" to join us in 09, don't you think?:thumbsup2

Maybe Heather has heard from her......
