So, I sat on hold with SoG for a long time last week & didn't get an answer...
Does anyone know if SoG usually has a bus to the marathon start? I gotta assume DH isn't the only guest there for the race.
Plan B is to send him across the road to the Poly to jump on their bus.

Hmmm, I think since it is an "on site" place that they "should." That said though I must say I have no idea.
I asked at the desk where to catch the bus the first time I did the event and those at the desk of the BW had no idea. I figured from then on I was on my own. I later discovered that WDW is not the one to ask as they are not putting on the event.
I think if you email them at race hq you should get an email response maybe better than the old phone one. Sorry about that on hold thing.
This info is critical to know for sure.

Thanks. I'll try again, this time with the race folks. I tried calling SoG - I figured they would know best!
No biggie if DH has to walk to Poly, I just need to prepare him for that! He thinks I'm queen of Disney knowledge. I'd hate to prove him wrong, especially at 4 am!!
I just noticed your location - DH & I are displaced Clevelanders (North Olmsted).

You will not really get an answer until marathon weekend. Take advantage of the rates at SoG. Have DH walk past the Poly on race day to the TTC. Catch the monorail from there.

Last year we stayed at the Polynesian and shared buses to the expo with SOG. We monorailed to race start, so I don't know about SOG buses.

Two years ago we stayed at SoG for the marathon, and they did have busses from SoG to the start area. I think the busses started around 3 or so. (Dont hate me if I am wrong with the starting time for the busses. It was almost 2 years ago LOL) There were lots of people from SoG participating in the marathon.
So you have the choice. You can either walk to the Poly as a little warmup and take the monorail or you can take the bus. But we took the bus to the marathon start and then took the monorail back after the race.
