Lunch at Topsiders or Lumieres?

For the "At Sea" days, are the lunch buffets at Topsiders better, or the sit-downs lunches at Lumieres the way to go? The Italian and Seafood buffets sound great at Topsiders, but is Lumieres the better choice? Thanks!

We went to the buffets (Italian and American) at Parrot Cay on 2 of the sea days and really enjoyed them. I think the menu is the same as at Topsider's but we liked the ambience of Parrot Cay better. The only time we ate at Topsider's was at the Welcome Aboard buffet and unfortunately my family was there before I was and picked an inside table (cramped and crowded). One nice thing about Topsider's is eating out on deck if it isn't too windy. We never ate lunch at Lumiere's so I can't offer a comparison there.

Parrot Cay had an excellent luch buffet on sea days. The seafood, Chinese, and Italian were all excellent. Some of the best food was found on those buffets.

It wasn't too long before we were icked out by the buffet, and wound up in Lumeries. It was very nice, and the food quality was so much better! The crowding problem in Topsiders was also a problem for us. Remember though, sit down lunch does take longer.

We ate Plutos more than once.

The nice thing about Topsiders was that others in the party could also get food from the poolside fast food places and then everyone could sit together. But I'm trying to think of how many times we actually ate lunch - I think I only ate three times, maybe four. Anyway, who wants to be stuck inside in a sit down restaurant when you could be sitting out in the warm fresh air?

One morning I did make the mistake of insisting on going for a sit down breakfast instead of the buffet. Big mistake. I'm not sure if it was just because the kids were tired (and cranky) , but we couldn't wait to get out of there.

I loved the sit-down lunches at Lumiere's. Great food and service. Plus the atmosphere in Lumiere's is the best of any restaurant on the ship (except for Palos). The American buffet in Topsider's I thought was horrible. Breakfast on the other hand was much better at Topsider's and eating breakfast outside was a real treat.

I agree with ssclbc - skip breakfast at Lumiere's, but don't miss having a leisurely sit-down lunch there at least once!

We were treated first class at Lumiere's at lunch - so much so that it became really obvious that the attention we received each evening from our regular server left much to be desired. The food was excellent, atmosphere elegant, and service first class.
We were sorry we only made it to lunch once - next cruise we plan to lunch at Lumiere's more often. (it's that total "cruise experience"!!)

For breakfast, however, we found room service continental breakfast more to our liking. Sit-down breakfast service was too slow, and the food was just ok. Even with a 7 year old, the Character Breakfast was awful. Next time, we'll order room service, then stop in for a cup of tea while dd catches up with the characters!:earsgirl:

We used to always do a sit-down lunch until they started having the American buffet on the Wonder (I hear that the Magic has the same spread too). It is awesome! I have photos on my website at www.*****************
Triton's/Lumiere's is good too...at least on the 7-day you will have an opportunity to try that as well. They have an awesome chicken/tropical salad that is not on the menu but that they prepare righ front of you...mmm!

i could be wrong, but does that mean they have a sit-down lunch on the wonder? and if so, is it only on the four day??
