Part ONE:

Why hello and thank you for stopping by! :goodvibes

This is my first EVER TR and I couldn't be more excited..I am planning on making this a combo TR/Dining Review/Adventure so I hope you stick around..because ANYTHING could happen...hmm..that is a true statement, since I haven't even left yet....anyhoo...I digress...;)

I guess I will start with the ole faithful TR starters....
Das' Cast:

ME/Gina

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0522.jpg
( this was taken at NINE DRAGONS this past June..)
I am an avid Dis'er here, I follow lots of other TRs and such and love the Dissapearing Peeps Thread ( SHOUT OUT! ;) ) I am actually currently unemployed ( CUE Wa-Wa-WAhhhhhhh music) BUT will be working in the mortgage industry starting in January ( YAY!!!...gotta pay for WDW somehow!)

and my partner in crime, in and out of the WORLD:
my boyfriend/Greg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0557.jpg
(Pic is from June trip...at illuminations..with a lovely Norwegian beer as a prop)

He is a firefighter :firefight and puts up with my Dising :surfweb: ...how can i not love him  Seriously though, after our first trip in June together, I do believe he is hooked on the house of Mouse...YAY for me! He is also a bit of a computer geek..so if i run into technical dificulties here..he's my man! ;)

OK you've got the cast...let us set the scene...

Well in June we had a lovely 7 night stay here:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0407.jpg
The Poly!!! So pretty..and the monorail ROCKED...
We were a little let down by the cleanliness or lack thereof but LOVED the monorail access so we put our little heads together :chat: and decided on:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0674.jpg

THE GF!!!!! For the longest time I always thought it was soo stuffy and decorated like a Nana's attic...but after actually seeing it firsthand...we both thought it was so, well, GRAND...and at Xmas time..it seemed like a great idea  ..so off we went to AAA and booked our Holiday get-away!!

I must leave you for now...but tune in soon for more EXCITING details like
When does this trip take place?
What will we be doing??
Will the Pats remain undefeated after Monday's game??..ok, that has nothing to do with our trip..but HEY I am curious myself ;)

Ok after a brief interlude I am back!

Where did I leave off....:scratchin oh yes...WHEN and WHAT are we going to be up to!

Our travel dates are December 6th through the 10th...we have a SUPER early flight out of Logan and should get to MCO around 10ish, a little before I believe....and we are taking what I think is the next best thing to Dr. Who's Tardis ( PLEASE tell me someone gets that...) to reach the GF....the MAGICAL EXPRESS!
Here we are in June just getting on:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0399.jpg
Yah, we can be super goofy...

It's Disney...It happens.

SO....ideally we will be whisked away to the GF, and since we are staying in Sugarloaf ( Club Level BABY!!!!) we are hoping that we can just quickly change into some Disney appropriate clothes...since its actually SNOWING here right now, I have a feeling we will be boarding that plane in jeans and other warm apparel..and leave our carry on bags at the concierge desk and head out. We will probably grab something light to eat in the lounge too..hey..why not!!??

I think we will be going to AK that morning...when we went in June it was SOOO unbearably hot that we only spent about 3 hours there total..which bummed me out because i LOVE AK. I did get to ride EE..but to be honest, i think there were 2 factors that did me in for that ride in June...#1 Donald's Breakfast right before...Exhibit A:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0451.jpg
and the EXTREME HEAT that day... I vowed never to ride again :scared: ...so we shall see if Greg can talk me into conquering the Yeti or if i wuss out! ( Sidenote: check out Greg's CRAZY EYES in that picture with Pluto..there might be a goosing going on there...)

We will probably head back to the hotel for a little rest and munchies if need be..and to check and see if our luggage made it to our room or not...and then I think we will hit Epcot that night for some of this:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0511.jpg

this: (mmmm Tangerine cafe')
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0548.jpg
and finally...this!...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0554.jpg

Ok...i am planning on us SEEING the actual Illuminations show..I have yet to take good Fireworks pics..unlike our fellow Dis'er Lynda (aka Disneyfreak..she takes AWESOME firework pics!)...but that is one of my goals..take at least 1 decent Boom-Boom picture!

I guess that will do it for our day 1 plans..stay tuned for what we have in store for day 2.. I will leave you with...It will begin with a trip around the world and end with cookies and a castle ;)Till next time...here is a picture that is Disney..but weather-wise could be here right now!

It looks great so far...I'm so excited for you to see the GF at Christmas. It is amazing! And I'm excited to hear about Club level at GF. Question...is sugar loaf still considered "light"? I thought I read that it was upgraded to full concierge services awhile ago. Just curious.

Looking forward to more popcorn::

SO good to "see" you here on my first try at this TR stuff ;)
From what I hear the SL concierge has the same offerings as the "big league" RPC in the main building...I will be sure to give a detailed description of all the fun when I return..believe me, I am looking forward to the "twilight cocktails" ;)

I'll be back later today to finish up the Itenerary list..and fill you in on the FUN ADR's we have in store!!

Just subbing. We'll be there at the same time as you! We stayed at the GF 10 years ago on our Disneymoon, but since we're now DVC members, we're staying at BCV and AKV this time around. You mentioned cookies and snow, so what day are you attending MVMCP? We're going Sunday the 9th. Of course, that's during the Colts game, but I'm not worried. It's only Baltimore. But of course, I'm rooting for Baltimore tonight....

Hope you have an awesome trip. Looks like the weather is going to be good. My DH and I have started a pre-trippy a well (see link below). I'm hoping to get some good food pics for a dining report too.

Maybe we'll see you around over the weekend!

I can't remember the drink I am holding in that pic..but it was good..and the meal here was AWESOME! I do hope we make our ressies and go again.

Day 4 ( last full day..:sad1: ) I def. want to do whatever else we feel like we missed or rushed on and hit Downtown Disney to do some Xmas shopping ( OH I LOVE the Christmas store they have there!!)..and then we have my prize ADR: California Grill! :) We have never been and I am really looking forward to it!

Day 5: Bye Bye WDW ...we have a mid afternoon flight so maybe we will, by we i mean I WILL do some more shopping before we have to leave the magic and head back to the cold world of MA.....

So there are are plans kids! ( oh i am sorry..that was very Rachel Ray of me..:sad2: )..I will still be posting till we leave with tidbits and pics from our June trip to tide me over...and oh yah, keep an audience i hope :)

it's not BAD necessarily......the girl just drives me crazy. she's a spaz! she needs to take some ritalin! i saw some olive oil with her picture on it the other day at kroger and it was actually called EVOO. i almost swore of kroger forever. :lmao:

Except for dinning at the GF, I don't see myself ever staying there. Boy would that be nice, but not with 4 kids. Mybe one day when DH and I are retired?

I'll just experience it through your TR.

I'm on board.

We did MVMCP last year and it was so much fun. Really. You will have a blast!

HA. The EVOO thing is a bit much, my dad says her mouth is so big and reminds him of the Chucky Doll from Child's play...I think that is pretty funny...:rotfl:

HELLO!!!!!!!

Ok So i am KINDA bouncing off the walls right now...:yay: 2 days left..not even because on Thursday our car picks us up at 4 am for the airport! That is EAAAAARRRRLLLLLY!! But so worth it.

I still have to pack and take this fine animal down to my parents house so they can watch him:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN1222.jpg
That is Chief..in his Holiday Finest..and if you look behind him you will see Molly, our cat..actually here is a better pic of our fuzzy feline:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN1219.jpg

doesn't she look SOOO happy in her get up? Wait..she looks even more thrilled here:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN1221.jpg

Now THAT is a happy cat!

Before you call PETA, we really do love our animals, they are our fur babies and this is the only time of year we "torture them" with outfits..other than Chief's Red Sox Jersey. BUT that's it...untill I find them disney outfits that fit them :rolleyes1

So like I said Chief is being shipped off to "camp Joe and Anita"..aka my parent's house ..and Molly will stay at our house with Greg's brother who is house sitting...pretty good deal :thumbsup2

And now for your random viewing pleasure...Troy Aikman outside of Pirates of the Caribbean last June!
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0418.jpg
Funny huh? And the kicker is it was BARELY raining and here is the big tough retired football player with a PONCHO on...you would never see a former Patriot like that...just saying ;) ..it was a cool sighting though because after we saw him we got to see "Johnny" on POTC ..fun stuff!

You know what, all this typing has made me thirsty..:drinking1 lets look at a few drinks from WDW to quench it shall we?! YES I say...we shall!! :)
First..we have what i believe was my FAVORITE Beverage from the world..the Delicious the Delightful the DEADLY Raspberry Mojito from the Tambu Lounge at the Poly:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0427.jpg
Sweet, refreshing and so pretty!! I probably had about 5 of these puppies during our stay there. One of them was in a plastic cup that we took out to the beach and sat on the hammock with...Probably one of my favorite memories actually...just me and Greg, a lovely cocktail, a perfect view of Cinderella Castle  ...who said that Disney World is just for kids??
Ok, still thirsty...Check out this bad boy: Frozen Mocha latte and a chocolate croissant from Main Street Bakery!:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0423.jpg
YUM-MO ( THAT comment was especially for Dawn and Laura...lol :rotfl: )
But in all seriousness...that was a GOOD sugar rush right there.
Now that I think of it...I believe it was consumed after the "Magic Behind the Steam Trains Tour"..oh look a picture from that! :
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0634.jpg
Greg is the train person between us..but it was still fun for me too...The most fun was going through toontown when it was just about to open and seeing the characters walking around waiting for their adoring public..I felt like a Paparazzi taking this one!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0639.jpg

So cute!
Ok well its getting late and I have a big ole day of packing, dog delivering, and various other pre-disney things to do tommorow so i suppose i should hit the hay for now...am i whining..I hope not, but just in case, here is some cheese to go with that "whine"
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0694.jpg
Yachtsman Steakhouse cheese to be exact ;)
I shall be back tommorow with some final thoughts! :)

Last year when we went to WDW, we got to watch Beyonce tape her Christmas song on stage.

She wasn't park hopping, but she was there singing her version of Silent Night.

Before you call PETA, we really do love our animals, they are our fur babies and this is the only time of year we "torture them" with outfits..other than Chief's Red Sox Jersey. BUT that's it...untill I find them disney outfits that fit them :rolleyes1

I think it's cute when people dress up their animals. Have you ever heard of Build a Bear, they might have something for Molly.

...who said that Disney World is just for kids??

I never heard of such nonsense:lmao:

Ok, still thirsty...Check out this bad boy: Frozen Mocha latte and a chocolate croissant from Main Street Bakery!:

YUM-MO ( THAT comment was especially for Dawn and Laura...lol :rotfl: )
But in all seriousness...that was a GOOD sugar rush right there.

:lmao: That does look yum-o

Last year when we went to WDW, we got to watch Beyonce tape her Christmas song on stage.

That's pretty cool. I never see anyone famous :sad1:

Under each person's post is a quotation mark. If you are reading something and want to respond to it click on the icon. It will turn red. You can do this for each post you want to respond to. Then you hit reply to post and all the quotes will come up in your reply box. Respond away. Hope that helps.

On the outside Chip and Dale are boys - - - but inside - girls. One night at Chef Mickey's, Chip was at our table. We were having great fun with the characters and I was rubbing and rubbing Chip's arm - it was a very delicate arm - well Chip was acting all warm and fuzzy and as I kept rubbing "his" arm - someone asked "Chip" if I might find all the rubbing a bit strange when "his" shift ended - Chip got all excited and started shaking "his" head up and down - - - no doubt - inside "Chip" was a girl - - - I would give anything to be able to be a character - maybe when I'm really old!! :confused3

Ok Folks..here is our first day of our GRAND HOLIDAY GETAWAY!!!

December 6...3:45 a.m :scared1: .....our car and driver arrives to whisk us off to Logan Airport :drive: ...its cold...its dark out..is EARLY...but do I care..not really..because we are going to DISNEY!!!!!!

We arrive at Logan without any issue at all..except we are WAYYY early for our flight, which is at 6:50 a.m...since we have time to kill and our bellies decide " Hey you are awake how about some breakfast??" We stop at the Starbucks near our terminal..And I get a delicious Blueberry scone...
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007007.jpg

mmm..the first "Food Porn pic" of the report ;)...I think Greg had a raspberry danish and a coffee...
And we were off....!
The flight was uneventful..which is always GREAT ..and before we knew it we were on our first "ride" of the trip..the tram between terminals at MCO:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007010.jpg

COME ON..you all know how exciting it is to get on this thing, its like a precursor of FUN things to come!
And they did..we got on the Magical Express..and in about 30 minutes we spotted this:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007014.jpg
I was so excited. I don't think I will ever get sick of seeing those arches...

Before we knew it ..we were at the lovely GF!!! Once we got off the Magical Express we were greeted by a very nice CM that took us through the main building...where we got our first glimpses of the famous GF tree and Gingerbread house...( Pics of that will be in later installments..gotta keep you in suspense ;) ) Not only did the Lobby explode in Christmas decorations..it even SMELLED of the gingerbread and spices of the holidays..amazing....
We checked in at Sugar Loaf, were told they would call with a room assignment in a few hours ( it was only about 11:00 or so at this point) and we took our keys to the world and headed off to Animal Kingdom!
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007016.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007018.jpg

Such a cool tree!
After gawking at the tree and other cool decorations..we knew we had to head over to the Kilamanjaro Safari..we didn't hit this up back in June, and Greg has never done it so off we went!
The wait was only about 20 minutes..OUTSTANDING! AND because it was on the cooler side ( 70 ish degrees ..yah real cold right ;) ) we saw ALOT of animals up close and personal..here are some:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007020.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007032.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007034.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007035.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007036.jpg
I was pretty psyched about all the critters that showed themselves today...Greg liked it alot actually..and that made me happy because he has actually been to Africa on a real safari with his family..so for him to like the Disney take on a safari, I thought that was a pretty cool thing. The only thing that detracted from KS was this idiot that kept trying to stand up to take pictures and our driver had to stop the truck 3 times!! to tell him to sit down..personally I would have just left him in the crocodile area and been done with it...this is why I do not work for Disney ;) ..Ok I am not THAT mean, Perhaps I would have just tied him to the roof....
After the safari we did one of the paths..I don't remember the name..but it was the gorrilla one..and we saw a gorrilla in this peculiar pose:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007044.jpg
Now you tell me, is this gorilla going #1 on this tree??...That's what I think. And I am sticking to it...
We decided not to run into any Hippos on the way, for very SHARP reasons:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007042.jpg
(I hope that guy has a good dental plan!)

All this adventure made us hungry so off we went to Flame Tree...
Check out our view:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007051.jpg
We actually did not conquer the Yeti this time...by lunch our 3 am wakeup call was starting to hit us and our heads wouldn't be able to handle all those whips and turns...

And our food:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007049.jpg
The Happy Holiday's cups are so cute!
I opted for the 1/2 chicken that comes with beans ( way too sweet for me!), a corn muffin (yummy) and I had the frozen lemonade as a dessert and a water as my drink. Greg got the pulled beef sandwich a coke and frozen lemonade.
After a nice lunch we went to " Its Tough to be a Bug"...cute as always and we quickly went through Camp Minnie and Mickey...
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007055.jpg

By now it was about 3:30 I believe and we had received our MAGICAL " Your room is ready" call..so we were ready to head back to the GF, check out our room, make sure our luggage got there safe and sound and get ready to go to EPCOT that night .....
So I leave you with these questions..What room do we get? Did our luggage get there ok? Did Epcot happen?....and what is this about FOOD POISONING??? ....see you in the next installment!

and before we knew it we were on our first "ride" of the trip..the tram between terminals at MCO:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007010.jpg

i've never been to MCO before because we always drive, but that building in the distance kinda looks like the contemporary, so it really does feel like you're on the monorail, huh?

After the safari we did one of the paths..I don't remember the name..but it was the gorrilla one..and we saw a gorrilla in this peculiar pose:

 looks like he's taking care of some personal issues there. :rolleyes1

Starbucks is ALWAYS a good option!!!
Love the Giraffe he is sooo cute.
We went in December of 06 the 5-10 and we thought the weather was wonderful.
We had issues with the Safari stopping too... An Ostrige (spelling) decided to walk in our path.
Sounds good keep it coming!

I thought the giraffe was sticking his tongue out too, but I remember from when we went to the zoo, they have black/bluish looking tongues.

I am very excited to see pics of your room.

I hope your DB wasn't sick for very long. What a bummer!! My parents are on a cruise in Germany (down he Danube) and called last night to say my mom and uncle got the Norwalk virus. So far 28 of the 150 passengers on board are infected. Fun times...:sad2:

Ok where were we....YES..going back to our resort, The GF and checking out our room.

SO.....after a brief wait at the AK bus stop we arrived back at our hotel, and went into Sugar Loaf to check out our new room which was 6127...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007072.jpg
There is the lovely Sugarloaf Building...it was so pretty..I will def. have more pics and say more about the GF/SL later in the report...

Ok..so let me just back it up a little bit here...We booked this trip in August I believe and I had a couple simple requests, A king bed would be lovely if possible but we def. wanted a balcony. When we stayed at the Poly in June we had a pretty cruddy room, considering I didnt' get any of the 3 longhouses I requested and we had a ground floor room with a parking lot/monorailish view...SO this time I really wanted something with at least a balcony and a better view than before...so we find out that 6127 is indeed on the first floor..in the far corner...this was our room:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007062.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007061.jpg

Pretty, but understated...which I liked
Here are a few of the bathroom..I LOVED the wallpaper..super cute:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007064.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007065.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007068.jpg

BUT..here was our view..or lack thereof...
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007063.jpg

I'm not going to lie, I was pretty sad and a little peeved about it. I didn't think twice before saying to Greg " yah, this isn't cool..lets see if we can get a different room." We are paying enough money for this stay, and I would really love a NON ground floor room...so off I went, leaving my YUMMY raisin scone I snagged at the Afternoon Tea table behind...I marched over to the concierge desk and asked for a room change....Of course i explained the situation and asked very nicely if there was something they could do...:flower3: ...The CM at the desk was VERY nice and totally understanding. She said there was nothing that day we could switch too, but she would check and see if we could move for the next day...which we were totally OK with..I can def. deal with a ground floor room at the GF for one night, twist my arm...lol. SO..off we went back to our room for the time being to relax for a bit before heading to EPCOT to see Illuminations and catch some rides...
(While we waited the same nice CM called and said we would be able to switch to a 4th floor room with a marina view the next day...YAY!!!)
We headed out to EPCOT around 6:30ish I think and got a bunch of photopass pics and took some of the beautiful Christmas decorations:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007076.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007069.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007075.jpg
I LOVED these Peace Trees....

FUN STUFF!
We only did the "Living with the Land" ride this night because it was getting pretty late and lot of EPCOT things were shutting down.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007074.jpg
SHAKE SPECIMENS SHAKE!

SO off we went to future world to grab a bite to eat at the Yorkshire Fish place ( Greg just got chips, but i got fish AND chips) ..I loved it..it was a bit greasy but the fish itself was super flaky and delicious and we got some tasty shortbread with it too...GO DDP!
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007078-1.jpg
We ate our food at right near the Rose and Crown while we staked our Illuminations spot.

I must say the Christmas tag they add to this show is quite a nice touch...:)
It was also really cold this night and i actually went and bought a sweatshirt to wear during the show.
After Illuminations our looooong day was winding down, and this is when Greg started saying his stomach was hurting..I just thought maybe it was the fries or lack of sleep or the cold...But alas it was not meant to be just those things...:sad2:
We got back to our lovely hotel, in our lovely room, which had been turned down for the night:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007081.jpg

And my poor Greg proceeded to get sick for the WHOLE ENTIRE NIGHT...every hour on the hour in the bathroom!!! I was sad, scared about what was wrong with him, worried that the rest of the trip would be like this and a bit selfishly mad about it..not at HIM, but just the situation...
So the night ended with me in and out of sleep and him in and out of the bed getting more and more dehydrated by the hour :sad1: ...

SO..what happens next?...stay tuned...Will Greg be sick the rest of the trip?? What about our Segway Tour that we had planned the next morning?? And the MVMCP that next night!????????

A CLIFFHANGER!!! :thumbsup2 I love it! Welcome back! That is HORRIBLE about getting sick. That would just kill me to have to sit there and not be able to do anything to solve the problem...and to feel bad worrying if the vacation would be ruined! Does that sound selfish?...maybe a little. But it's not like you can get a redo of your sick time. Like, "Hello, Disney? We've got a case of food poisoning here, so we'll need the trip extended a couple of days to make up for all that time lost. Thanks." I hope the rest of the trip was so fabulous that the memory of being sick faded super quick.

We were there at the same time as yall, and I feel so disoriented not having a trip to look forward to anymore! It was over to fast. I think I'm having Disney withdrawls...anybody else know the symptons? I wish I could live at Disney for at least a month!

Get installement Gina. I hope his sickness only lasted that night. I have a friend who went to Disney in May and one of her kids got strep throat right before they and they other one got while they were there and had a really high fever but she gave them Motrin and some antibiotics because the pharmacy always gives you extra so in a day or two they were both fine.

YUP being sick is terrible..but on vacation..SO much worse. Actually my first trip to Disney was when I was 7 years old and I was with my parents staying at the Contemporary and I had the nerve to come down with CHICKEN POX!!!! It was awful...I think I went to Epcot one day and MK one day and that was it..my poor but wonderful mother stayed with me in that North Wing Room all day, trying not to cry because we came all that way and I couldn't even do anything...BUT on the brightside we did go again the next year for a "do-over" and stayed at the Poly with my cousin Lisa..so I got my fun NON sick trip that year! :)

Way to go with the concierge! YOU ROCK!

So....Day 2 ( Friday December 7th) begins much as Day 1 unfortunately ended...with Greg still sick as a dog, albeit with slightly longer intervals between "sick spells"..
Remember we had that Segway tour booked---Cancelled
Lunch at Teppan Edo----Cancelled

We were both soo bummed, but by 8:30 he certainly wasn't ready to go to Epcot and Segway around the World Showcase within an hour...Because I already booked and paid for this before we left, I was worried that we couldn't get a refund on it...I went to the nice Concierge CM and she made a few phone calls on our behalf and got them to refund our money !! :) yay! That is one VERY nice thing about Club Level, they really will do all sorts of miscellanious stuff for you and usually get better results than if we tried to do it ourselves.
Knowing that the tour was refunded, we were both in better spirits..by 11 ish Greg had enough energy to get himself dressed and at least try sitting up...he even made a call home to his parents to see if they had any good advice on getting him on the mend quicker...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007071.jpg
Poor Guy! :(

SO while we are biding our time...I remember that we had requested a new room...so off I go again to the concierge desk and they tell me that YES we do have a new room..6407 ( 4th floor marina view...sounds good so far!)..BUT ( there is always a but..) it wouldn't be ready until 3 and we really should be out of our old room by 1 so they can clean it out for new guests and get our stuff up to our old room or whatnot..
Basically this wasn't a problem, except Greg was still dragging and not up for going too far for those 2 hours. So we decided to have a bellman come get our stuff and hold it for us at the Bell Services Station and we would hang out in our lounge and maybe explore the main building for a bit...as long as we weren't too far from somewhere Greg could rest ( or a bathroom..:rolleyes1 ) we would be all set. SO here are some pics from our 2 hour excursion:
FIRST we walked around outside and got some fresh air...it was BEAUTIFUL OUT!
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007073.jpg
The grounds were GORGEOUS!!! I want their landscapers!!

"Too much light!! Let me go back to the hotel and sleep!!" NOT a chance Kid.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007085.jpg
( i look like a boy here..lol)

Now for the lobby of the main building.....

THIS is a tree!

The GF has all sorts of very cool turn of the century doo-dads on display, I loved this metal ferris wheel.

Self Portrait while Greg used the, ahem, facilities...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007099.jpg
Fun looking tub-o-bath bombs at White Basin..TERRIFIC bath goods store..yummy smelling stuff galore at this place..DEFINITELY check it out when you are at the GF!!

After a while I decided lunch was in order...Greg even started getting somewhat of an appetite at this point..so off to Gasparillas I go ( SUPER SMALL FOOD COURT by the way!)...and I decided on a Pepperoni Pizza, water and a Minnie Strawberry fruit Bar:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007105.jpg

Typical Disney pizza..not good not bad, but def. was worth the CS credit..and to top it off Greg actually ate some of it, and he had the whole Fruit bar...a very good sign..I started seeing signs that he was getting better at this point..a BIG YAY was heard around the world!
We still had a few minutes before our room would be ready so we picked out some comfy lounge chairs on the beach area and waited it out:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007107.jpg
So pretty!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007108.jpg
I call this one : Sleepy Semi-Sick Sox fan

After a quick snooze on the beach, we decided to see if we were still homeless or if our room was indeed ready...and ..it was!!! CHECK OUT THE NEW VIEW:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007109.jpg
WOOHOOO!!!! So much better, the balcony was great and from the side we could see alot of the marina and the monorail!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007110.jpg

And at night:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007115.jpg

YAY!!!! (That was the 6:00 regular wishes that night...remember this was the night that MVMCP was supposed to happen for us, so they had an early reg. wishes and then the special Christmas Wishes would happen at 9:30 during the party...if we make it....dun dun dun!!!!)

Inside our room, it was pretty much the same, here is one of me declaring that this is in fact our 2nd room:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007114.jpg

We were pretty happy with this whole situation and decided to relax in our new room and see if Greg was indeed feeling up to the party. Was he?? Well this is a picture from later that night:

I am so grateful he was only sick a short time..believe me, it was long enough.
The pics don't even do the GF justice..its so flippen pretty there!

I am HOPING to get my MVMCP installment up soon..preferably BEFORE Christmas! :)

Hi Gina.

Wow the GF is totally beautiful. I don't blame you one bit for trying to get your requests granted. It paid off too.

Oh I bet you were so thankful DH bug was only a minor thing.

Nice views. I love the main lobby. I can't believe they run a shop out of that gingerbread shop. Would you like to purchase a shingle?:rotfl:

We ate at 1900 Park Fare last year. Yum!

That's when Malorie fell in "love" with HER prince.

You are cracking me up with all your little descriptions. Yummy smelly stuff galore!

My 3 yr old loved your pictures. She made me stop at the flowers and of course, her castle.

Ok...so last I left you we were finishing off the day enjoying our new room at the GF..Greg actually had something in his tummy and he was feeling better...so off we went to meet the Mouse in his Christmas Finery..along with a few other friends!...So we jump on the monorail ( gotta love staying at a monorail resort!)..and we were THERE!
I was BEYOND excited about this, we had not been to the MK yet at all, and i was itchin for that castle..my excitement started when we saw this when walking in:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007191.jpg

YAY! We were really here...and there IT was:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007132.jpg

and there we were, right near it!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007122.jpg
(Gotta love "self" photography lol)

So once we tried to take in all the beautiful decorations and smells we thought we should head over to Haunted Mansion since it was closed back in June and we were very interested in seeing the new improvements..and that is what we did...there was NO wait at all, although our Doom Buggy stopped for about 10 minutes right in the begining..but once it got going we really enjoyed it..its very cool now :)
After the HM Greg and I decided to make tracks over to Fronteirland, get some grub and hopefully stake out a nice parade viewing place..we ended up at Pecos Bills ( sorry no pics of this one :() and Greg got brave and got a cheeseburger with apple slices and yogurt ( he is a Fry guy, but he wasn't sure if he should tempt fate yet with them)...I got a cheeseburger, fries and a carrot cake..Gotta love the DDP..we sat down with our meals, which were pretty darn good actually, and waited for the parade to start..We decided just to walk up to the street area and watch from Pecos Bills..which ended up being a good place to view the parade! Score! Here are some shots from the parade..I apologize about the blurriness..my camera was not my best friend this night...but you can tell the parade was SUPER CUTE and quite long!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007135.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007124.jpg
They even had red and green lights projected on the trees to show Christmas colors!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007152.jpg
Two of our favorite guys... Chip n' Dale !!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007153.jpg
There float/scene in the parade was my favorite..they were making a snow-munk and decided to have a snowball fight too..it was so cute!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007168.jpg
I usually love Gingerbread Men, but I thought these were creepy! One cool thing though, there were all sorts of yummy smells being pumped into the air during the parade too..when Goofy's candy float came by it smelled like sugar cookies and the Gingerbread themed floats all smelled like, yup, gingerbread..i was getting ready for my cookies and cocoa at this point! :)

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007172.jpg
These guys were really cool.

And of course no Christmas parade would be complete without the BIG GUY:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007180.jpg
SO the parade came to an end and I really wanted my cocoa and cookies...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007182.jpg
NOW it felt like the holidays! YUM.

We then watched Holiday Wishes on the Tommorowland side..NOTE: IF you want to hear the show, which is so much better than not, go more towards main street/castle hub..the first place we were watchign we couldn't even hear the music or anything, so we moved...
What I was looking forward to most was watching Mickey's Twas the Night before Christmas Show at the Galaxy Theater..So we made tracks over there after wishes and got nice seats..this show was THE BEST..so Christmassy, the dancing and singing was great and it was SUPER SUPER CUTE! Pics:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007184.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007185.jpg
(this nutcracker guy creeped me out, so of course, i took a picture)
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007188.jpg
Santa Goofy!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007181.jpg
Sugarplum fairies

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007189.jpg
Grand Finale!

After the show we jumped on the People Mover..oops i mean the TTA..(whatever! It will always be the people mover to me!) and decided to call it a night...we were going to be back at the MK the next morning for Crystal Palace and we would do all the rides we wanted to do then..so off we walked through Main Street USA, we actually caught the 2nd parade on the way out, which was cool...and it was snowing on Main Street..what a fun time!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007190.jpg

We really enjoyed MVMCP, and I am sure if Greg wasn't getting over food poisoning we would have gone earlier and rode more rides, but it was still a wonderful time!
Next up will be Crystal Palace/MK by day and Narcoosees by night!

Merry Christmas everyone!!..Another installment will be up after the holiday! :)

Day 3...Saturday!!
After the previous night out at MVMCP we were slightly sluggish this morning, but once we got on that monorail heading for MK I got a spring in my step!! I was going to meet PIGLET ( and the others of course) at Crystal Palace. We were so looking forward to this and Greg felt so much better so I had a feeling it would be a great day! The weather was gorgeous and the crowds looked low when we entered the park and we stayed left and headed right to CP!
Once we checked in at 9:10ish for our 9:15 reservation we were seated almost immediately...and almost immediately i spotted this guy:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007196.jpg
How cute is he! The waiter said that the characters would be coming around in about 5 minutes to our table so i didn't want to risk missing them so I stayed put, Greg on the other hand was hungry so he took the chance and went up and got himself a plate of YUMMY food and brought back some delicious fruit for me:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007198.jpg
Greg's plate: eggs, bacon, biscuit and grits..he enjoyed all of this

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007197.jpg
my AWESOME fruit with whipped cream..so yummy and fresh..i could have ( and should have!) lived on this the whole trip!

And before I could say " thanks for the plate o' fruit" Piglet was at our table..and soon after the other 100 acre wood gang followed...here is the adorable evidence:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007201.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007205.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007206.jpg

Cute stuff..and they were such good characters, interacting with all the cute little kids sitting around us..it was really fun to eat such yummy food in such a fun and suprisingly clean environment. That is one thing i really liked about CP..its so bright and pretty in there and the food really is very good for Buffet style, our waiter was attentive even though it was obvious he had more tables than he should have and overall it was a great experience..I will def. want to go here again.
OH here is the other plate of food I had..
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007208.jpg
of course i had to try the puffed french toast..YUM, breakfast pizza...
i thought this was too greasy, grits..good, eggs, good cheese blocks, come on now..its CHEESE, of course i liked it...and sausage..kind of wrong for me to eat after meeting Piglet, but it was tasty nonetheless..oink oink!
Here is a pic of the cute topiary all dolled up for Xmas time:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007210.jpg

After we ROLLED out of CP we got some photopass pics taken ( I should be getting the CD in a week or so, i will be sure to share a bunch of those along with bonus pics in later installments..)
and back over to the Main Street Train Station to ride to Fronteirland. NOTE...yes, i know we could have walked there in less time than going all the way back to the Main Street Station and taking the train...but Greg is a HUGE train geek..I love him, but he totally is. So to make him happy and give me another excuse to walk down Main Street, we boarded the train and headed to Frontier land...where we got fast passes for Big Thunder and pretty much got to walk on Splash...here is a redneck pic for you:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007213.jpg
Apparently Splash Mountain makes my whole torso go askew and makes Greg lose his neck...but what it definitely does do is SOAK me to the bones!! I didn't get wet at all during the actual drop, but when we were passing the drop hill another log went down and I swear about 400 gallons of water was thrown on me..my whole right side was wet the rest of the day..thankfully it was warm out!! stupid splash.
Anyhoo...after my bonus shower we did our fast passes for Big Thunder then boarded the train again to ToonTown!! We were going to see Mickey and Minnie's houses!! I took quite a few cute pics here, I just loved how they decorated for the season:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007214.jpg
I wonder if Mickey had Goofy help string those lights...they are pretty high!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007215.jpg
Love the half straight/half curly hair..courtesy of Splash Mountain of course..

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007216.jpg
Love the stockings..but i do NOT enjoy that crazy fish with the umbrella in it..kinda freaks me out. Someone should tell Mickey that it is not very Fung Sheui..or Fung Shway.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007219.jpg
Those suckers are prickly!!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007223.jpg
Now we are at Minnie's..I thought I would help her sew this up...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007224.jpg

Check it out...Mickey went to school in MOUSEACHUSETTS!
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007221.jpg

After we left the MouseHouses we went over to Fantasyland and checked out Philharmagic..
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007226.jpg
loved it as much as the first time..this is a great 4D movie!Oh here is Greg at his Buddy Donald's Tree Farm:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007225.jpg

We headed over to Tommorowland and grabbed fast passes for SPACE MOUNTAIN...but to kill some time we went on the PEOPLE MOVER ( not calling it the TTA, not doing it!)look at us, the happy travelers:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007231.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007229.jpg
We even went on the COP! I hadn't been on this one in probably 9 years..it was fun, those animatronics are so lifelike..i would hate to work on that ride in the dark..i swear they would come to life and make me sing " Its a big bright beautiful tommorow...."I digress...and I meet Pleekly:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007227.jpg
We then ride space mountain..enjoying every minute of it...and head back to the GF to take the bus to DownTown Disney for a bit so i could pick up a few things and get a snack at Goofy's...it was about 2:00 ish at this point so we had plenty of time....
Our adventures at Downtown and DINNER at Narcoosees coming up next! :)

After we left the MK we decided the easiest way to get to DTD would be to go back to the good ole GF via Monorail and then take the DTD bus from there...what a lovely suprise to see AND smell a very sweet older gentleman CM roasting Chestnuts in the front of the hotel!!..By smell I mean the nuts, not the CM!! of course I accepted the little tray of these Christmastime goodies..and here I am enjoying them while waiting for the bus:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007234.jpg

Once at DTD..we just headed right to the Christmas Shoppe to pick up a few ornaments, then off to Goofy's Candy Co.
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007238.jpg
I love the Mega Sized Mickey Krispie Treat..yum!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007237.jpg
This was our treat being prepared..we decided on 3 dark chocolate dipped pretzel rods rolled in oreo and drizzled with Caramel!! YUM...a great use of a snack credit if you ask me!

After Goof's we high tailed it out of there, it was a Saturday and BUSY..plus we had dinner to get ready for at 5:30, so we snacked on our treats at the bus stop and headed back to get ready for Narcoosees!

We had 5:30 ressies for dinner and by 5 we were soo hungry and thought it might be a good idea to at least check out what the conceirge lounge was serving up for treats...GOOD STUFF!! Here is a sample...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007239.jpg
This is my little plate of tid bits which included the Gazpacho Shrimp Shooter, guava empanadas and bacon wrapped scallops..and, say it with me, CHEESE.
SO yummy...we also had a glass of wine each...SugarLoaf is so worth it just for the wine and cheese in my book..;)

It was getting close to ressie time so we thought we would walk around the grounds for a bit and take some pics..
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007244.jpg
Greg by the marina and the monorail roaring by in the background.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007248.jpg
We took about 5 of these self portraits, trying to get the castle in the background...we KIND of succeeded with this one. NOTE the hot/cold cup..the rest of my wine is in this ...CLASSY.

Life is tough, huh Greg? ;)

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007255.jpg
I reallly thought this was pretty.
As soon as we checked in we were seated right by the window...with this view:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007258.jpg
Pretty sweet huh!?

Ok now for the exciting part...FOOD!!!
We were on the DDP, so we each chose an app. main and dessert..oh and I also had this:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007259.jpg
Raspberry Mojito...Mmmmmm

For my meal I chose calamari, surf n' turf and the almond cheesecake:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007260.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007269.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007270.jpg

Greg chose the Pumpkin soup, filet and trio of sorbet

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007261.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007267.jpg
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DSCN0667.jpg
( this sorbet pic was from June...it looked the same in Dec though)

Let me review.....My calamari was very good, incredibly tender..not rubberband like at all! The surf n' turf was good, the lobster tail was very sweet and tender esp. good with the butter..I thought the potatoes were a bit too rich, but the flavor was good. My dessert was EVIL..i was so full by that time that i could barely eat it, but it was amazingly creamy and full of yummy almond flavor...A+ on that one.
Greg's soup was like a slightly savory pumpkin pie..very good though. He said his filet was good, but not the best he has ever had ( we have some great steak places we go to back home, so he always seems to compare Disney Steak with these...WDW never wins...oh well), he liked his sorbets as well.

Once dinner was over we ROLLED back to SL..I was oh so thankful that we could just walk back..we had these grand plans to watch Wishes on the beach and go back to MK for the extra magic hours that night...but instead we both plunged into a food coma and fell asleep BEFORE the 9:00 wishes even started..i woke up to hear the booms and pops of the fireworks ( they are LOUD when you are staying at the GF) and decided that sleep was def. needed for us both...this was the first full day, and first "real" meal we had in days so we were done for the night.....

Stay Tuned: MGM/more Epcot/Cali Grill and where would we go for our last night out???

WELCOME 2008!!!!

And on with our show:

On our final day we started off with a little bit of delicious goodness we grabbed from the conceirge lounge that we brought up to the room to eat out on the lovely balcony....i believe i had a bunch o' fruit ( always so good and fresh) with a bagel maybe..and greg I BELIEVE had some yogurt and a bagel...the food was tasty but the tranquil morning was a bust due to a moron that was staying in the main building that thought it was a great idea to feed a bunch of those famous man-eating WDW birds from his balcony...this caused at least 100 of these winged beasts to decend upon the GF and swoop in to our balcony as well...I made a face at these birds:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007274.jpg
and THEN we went to MGM via the bus.

I loved the tinsel town theme of all the decorations..

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007275.jpg

(Please excuse the fuzziness of this day..it was actually almost a month ago and all that we were there :rolleyes1 )

From what i RECALL we went on RNR first..loved it as always..and then we hight tailed it over to Indie to catch the first show of the day, since neither of us had ever checked that show out before..it was pretty cool i must say..

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007283.jpg

At some point we stopped to do a little shopping..MGM does have some great shops I think...check out the cute christmas pluto jibbet i scored:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007277.jpg
CUTE.

We ended up checking out the special animation of disney attraction...which was totally worth it to me because of the special Ratatouille exhibit they had going on..we even got our pics with Emile and Remy at the end of it...those pictures will be posted later with the "BONUS" features of this trip report..lol..here are some of the attraction though:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007288.jpg
This guy was one of the animator's..he did a great job telling us about Disney Animation and so on..

a beautiful still from "Ratatouille"
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007292.jpg
While we waited in line to meet Remy and Emile there were all sorts of stills to look at from the movie.

Get him out of there!!!!!
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007286.jpg
Before I met the "REAL" rat...

After meeting the rats of Paris..we were a little hungry and grabbed burgers at the ABC Commisary..not the best, but it was edible:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007284.jpg
Greg finally had his beloved fries at this meal for the first time since being sick..so all was well with the world. OH note about that parfait thing with the strawberries...this was the SugarFree parfait..i really liked it. It had kind of a custardy consistency and the blueberries were dried actually..but it worked..
Would you like to see who was watching over us during lunch?

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007285.jpg
The ladies of "The View"...I really wanted to draw a ketchup mustache on Barbara and Elizabeth..but I refrained...

After lunch we mosied around for a bit longer and then hopped the friendship boats over to Epcot in hopes to see some International Santas....

Gina - the Pluto jibbet is so cute. I wish they had those back home. Maybe I'll look online for some. I think I would have enjoyed the Rataouille exhibit as well. I loved that movie. Oh my do they get to see the Santa's? I hope so.

Ok....SO after MGM we took the loverly Friendship Boat over to EPCOT's World Showcase...I thought this was a GREAT idea since we had no interest in catching any attractions in Future World, so why walk all the way through there twice...no need!!
Here is a pic of the Swolphin as we floated by..its a cool looking hotel in my opinion..but i dont' know if i would really get that Disney feeling staying there..and wait, there is NO monorail..can't do it!!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007297.jpg

Once we arrived in EPCOT I again felt that Holiday Spirit:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007298.jpg

And I got Greg to meet 2 of his favorites:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007300.jpg

We saw our favorite drummers in our quick jaunt:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007301.jpg

Now I had no idea that those crazy Santa's from around the world were taking breaks at the exact same time, exactly when we were going through the Showcase...so needless to say, we only saw 1 Santa..the Crazy Old Norwegian Claus:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007307.jpg

However the lack of St. Nick was ok because we got to see the cute German train set all dolled up for the holidays..these are the LITTLE touches that makes Disney so great!!! :goodvibes

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007302.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007303.jpg

How cute is this...it should have been a Disney commericial, I don't think I have ever seen a snow white look that much LIKE snow white..
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007305.jpg

We ended up buying some gifts in the shops but that was about all we did there...it seemed really busy in that area of Epcot, even that Mexican ride had a line!! So we began to shuffle off to Future world, in search of the monorail:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007308.jpg
This was pretty much my whole view of Greg the whole time this day..his legs are alot longer than mine and I tended to get distracted by shiny Disneyish things far too often to keep up. :rotfl:

So we actually made a few pit stops..first, Ice Station Cool..where I didn't even need to make Greg try Beverly..he grabbed it on his own...unknowing what disgust was to greet him:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007311.jpg
To quote Ursula " Poor Unfortunate Soul" lol! It really is the patented "Beverly" Face.

We zipped over to check out the Innovations hall ( i think West??) so Greg could see if they had his FD's patch in there Firefighter exhibit,

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007316.jpg
They did not :(..a total bummer because Greg actually sent in a town patch after we were there in June and they said it would be put in..maybe next time...:confused3

I didn't even know it but they had a cool Epcot 25 year exhibit going on:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007315.jpg
I am trying to be serious like Mark Twain here..does it work?

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007317.jpg
I must say, I am really liking the "bling-less" ball!!

We had some time before getting cleaned up for dinner at the Cali Grill, so we thought we would take some pics around our resort:
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007318.jpg

After our photo spree we relaxed for a bit and got ready for our night out at the CALIFORNIA GRILL...and wherever we would end up for our last night at WDW. At this point we really thought there were EMH at MK, so we were very happy that we would spend our last night hanging out in our favorite park..alas...we were wrong!! ( Let me say that this trip was now about 4 months ago..so i am a bit fuzzy on the details but I will do the best I can to do it justice..but lets face it, its the pictures that really matter !!!! ;) ...and on with the show! )

OK..where was I..OH YES.....on our way to the California Grill!!

We got to the Contemporary about 10 minutes before our reservation so we had a little bit of time to walk around and check it out before we took the "special elevator" up to the Grill....I remember staying here when I was 7 years old with my parents and from what I recall, it didnt' seem all that different. Very interesting architecture and modernist looking colors and furniture. We were thinking that someday we would like to stay there, since the new rooms look so cool..but now I dont' know. I just didn't feel like I was at Disney at all when I was there walking around..but that is just my opinion..i am sure it says Disney to plenty of other people! :)
BUT i digress..up the elevator we go:

The view from the lounge area is amazing!...and the view from our table was as well:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007334.jpg
( don't mind the reflective glare of the other patrons :rolleyes1 )

Our server seemed a bit harried but he was good and def. has done this a million times before...and the food..absolutely delicious!
I had one of the Sushi Rolls..Hurricane Roll - spicy crab, shrimp, tuna, cucumber and tempura squid ..YUM, for my entree I had the buttnernut raviolli with mushrooms...SO good and dessert I had to try the Butterscoth Buzz Buzz...here are pics:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007335.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007338.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007341.jpg

From what I remember Greg had some type of yummy salad( market greens i think) ..some beef thing that is not on the menu, or maybe its the pork..i am not sure..and the Valrhona Chocolate and Coffee for dessert.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007336.jpg

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007340.jpg

We ROLLED out of there let me tell you!! Overall I enjoyed the food, and most definitely the view..but it was a bit hectic and loud in there for me to really feel the need to go back anytime soon. I actually prefer Narcoosies and the Kona Cafe actually.
After dinner we walked out to the observation deck outside to enjoy the view:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007342.jpg
amazing.

I had a mini freak out there though...i HATE heights..i really had the whole "jelly legs" going on so I could not stay out there long at all!

We actually did not know that the MK was having a MVMCP that night so we were very disappointed we could not spend our last night at MK like we had planned :(...HOWEVER we did realize that MGM had EMH that night and we had yet to see the Osborne Lights...so off we went to spend our last Disney night out on the town at MGM...

THIS IS WHERE THE BUS WITCH COMES IN!
Waiting out for the bus from the CR to MGM there was a little line, so we sat and waited for the bus with the other couples..no biggie..The MGM bus pulls in and a bunch of people get off...They opened up the side back door, seemingly so people could board that way as well...A few people get on using that door so Greg and I followed. WHELP....they opened that door in order to assist a woman in a wheelchair out, I didn't know this or see her so YES i suppose we should have just gone on by way of the front door..but we were already on by the time we realized it so we figured we would just stay put. Some lady got VERY UPSET about this and started SCREAMING that the two of us "cut others in line" ( mind you everyone was sitting in a seat at this point, not one person had to stand and we would have gladly given our seats up for anyone that needed them)..she went on and on about how we have no manners and that she was glad that her kids were raised better than that and we were rude..etc. etc.:confused3 ..Seriously..it was ridiculous. We just looked at her, as did everyone else on the bus, her kids wanted to crawl under the seats, some other lady whispered " oh my god..i am so sorry..she is nuts!" to us during the rant. Luckily she got off at the Poly and as she was leaving looks at us, says " You are both so inconsiderate and rude!" to which Greg smiles and says " Have a WONDERFUL night." :rotfl: It was crazy. i HATE getting yelled at, especially for something we really didn't do wrong. It was truly a classic case of Disney late night melt down...but we didn't stay upset for long..because we had the last night of WDW to attend to and that bus witch was not going to ruin it for us!

NEXT: Lightin' up the night at MGM with the Osbornes.....

Crazy lady on the bus - and people say only small children have meltdowns. What a wack-a-do she was. Maybe she forgot to take some pill she needs that day. That view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking. Obviously you have to be dining there to go on the balcony right? The castle looks very pretty all light up from a far at night. aww, that was an awful story. Honestly if she had an issue with you, it would have been more Adult-like with children on board especially, to take you aside and calmly give her side of things. In fact, she may have found that there was another side to what she saw and it wasn't done on purpose.

I'm preaching to the choir though, but it's a shame there are some adults who ruin the "experience" for those around them.

The rest of your trip sounds like a wonderful time. Thanks so much for sharing. I've enjoyed it.:flower3:

WOW, that wacko woman encounter must have been wild!:scared1:

We love CG, have always had great meals there. The view is absolutely the best!! Going to Narcoossee's for the first time next trip so hopefully we'll be as pleased there as you were. As for KONA, it's our least favorite restaurant in all of WDW, two years running we had we had the worst meal of our trips there.

As for KONA, it's our least favorite restaurant in all of WDW, two years running we had we had the worst meal of our trips there.

I swear she was frothing at the mouth Kathy!! :scared1:
That is too bad about Kona..we have been just that one time and had a great experience, but like everywhere, you never know what the next time will entail! i hope you enjoy Narcoosees!! We really love it there:)

ok...so after being told what horrible people we were from the Bus Witch we continued our route to MGM in hopes of a good last night in the world...and we got it! :goodvibes

I have never seen the Osborne Lights before, and needless to say I was completely slack jawed and blown away by them. Really, if you have not gone during Christmas or just not seen them...YOU MUST GO!!! It really was spectacular. And since I was really hoping to spend our last night at MK and got "stuck" going to MGM I was so happy that we had such a good time there. Here are some "light" pics for your enjoyment :

WOW huh??

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007350.jpg
I can't even imagine how expensive the electric bill must be during the Christmas season in Disney...case in point the pic above ...all of those angels' wings move up and down, and there is a ton more motion lights going on as well..NOT to mention when they all "dance" to the music...which was like every 10-15 min or so!

This pic was our Christmas Card picture this year :)

Greg and his light up trains...lol!

From what I remember we just did alot of wandering around and picture taking on this last night..we MAY have gone to see the Muppets 3D but I can't remember..sorry!

I love this picture area!

I always have to visit my friend the never-meltiing snowman!!

Gotta love sweetums!

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007366.jpg

I love this one..

On our way out we got a look at this crazy tree..there were about 3 others with her, I thought they were super cute.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z181/ginaphine/DisneyDecember2007372.jpg

And then...we headed back to the GF for our last night's sleep at the world!

I believe the rest of our time was rather uneventful, I do know we used up some snack credits at the GF store to bring home.like little cookies and things like that...
I was rather sad when we were waiting by this on our final morning:

Great job! I love your pictures. We were at Disney World over Christmas and the decorations at all of the parks & resorts were awesome. The Osborne lights were jaw-dropping. Would you mind if I use your 2nd Osborne light photo for my scrapbook? I took several photos but mine are a little blurry. I was constantly stepping out of the way or in a hurry to take the photos because of the large number of people. We didn't stay & enjoy the lights but just for a few minutes because I was scared that I would lose my kids in the crowd.

Oh Gina, now I'm even more excited about going to WDW next Nov. Hopefully all of those light will be up, we are going for thanksgiving and staying the week after. I love your christmas card picture. Too cute. That has been a dream of mine to have a christmas card with the kids from Disney and I finally get that wish come true next year. Let us know at the peep thread when you start a TR from DL. I have never been there so I can't wait to go there with you and your DH.
