O.k. I thought I should start a new thread.
Thank you for the website for the straprunner sandals! I'm also curious if anyone knows the difference between the II and III styles??
Also if anyone else owns these sandals please let me know how you like them. Do they run narrow like the tennis shoes? Anyone have another color besides blue?
Thanks you guys!!;)

Black sole with tan/black straps. They fit me better than the womens' version, and I prefer the more neutral color. Also, I find that more stores put the mens' models on sale; many men don't go for sandals. (Hint: shop in a working-class neighborhood for sales; they tend not to sell as well there.)
I was just in my local Supermarket of Shoes day before yesterday, they had several pairs of mens' Straprunners on clearance for under $20. I wear a ladies' 8.5M, the mens' 7M is a perfect fit for me. (I got them last year in August for $22)

Dh and I both wear straprunners and love them. I have narrow feet and he has extremely wide feet; they work well for both of us. I've worn them all day without a single blister or rub spot. In fact I'm watching for sales so I can purchase us each backup pairs for when these wear out.
Sorry I can't help you with the difference between the II's and III's.

Tiggerpoo,
I have the Straprunner II's in the blue, and while they are nice, I would like a color that goes with more, like a black. So far, I've seen Straprunner III's in black, but I too don't know how different they are from the II's. Maybe they are just this years updated version of the same sandal, as they are the same price. (Last year the II's came in a few different colors.)
I also saw the men's Straprunner II's on sale, and one of the colors available is a dark grey, but smallest size is a 7 and I don't know if they will fit. They are on sale, so I am tempted.
I loved my Straprunner II's last summer in WDW. They were so comfortable, and very lightweight. Maybe someone else on the boards has more info!:)

:) Hi cindala... I'm going to e-mail the company and ask what is the difference between the II and III. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. I will also ask about the sizing if we buy a men's straprunner.
If you don't mind me asking... Where did you buy your II's??
I posted under the Teva thread about being so undecided on stupid shoes! LOL!

Tiggerpoo,
Please let me know what they say is the difference between the II's and the III's! I bought my Straprunner II's last spring at the Sports Authority when they had a 25% sale off all shoes/sandals. So I got them for $29.99. I've already checked a Sports Authority near me, and they don't have any sandals in yet.
As for how men's/women's sizes compare, looking at a chart for centimeters on one of the shoe sites, a women's size 8 and a men's size 7 are both 25 centimeters. In general, I think you should add 1 1/2 to 2 sizes from the men's size to get the women's size. EX. men's size 10 = women's size 11 1/2 or 12.
Let us know what you hear back!! :)

I e-mailed Nike today and they said they would answer within 24-48 hours, so I'll let ya know as soon as I hear from them, I promise:)
Lilmommybug... Don't worry, I am new to these boards and everyone has been really helpful and nice here so I don't think anyone would be so rude as to bite our heads off for asking a question!!

Disneyfan551,
For the Nike sandals go to niketown.com, I'm not sure if justforfeet.com has them or not.
I'm still waiting to here from Nike what the difference between the ll and lll are.:(
tiggerpoo
03-01-2002, 05:41 PM
O.K. I heard from Nike....
There is no difference between the ll and lll, except that the lll is slightly more waterproof.
That is what they said.
If you wear a size 7 in womens then you would wear a 5.5 in mens. But guess what... they only go to a size 6!!
So that's all the info I have folks, some one let us know if they buy them o.k.?:pinkbounc

Thanks for posting the info Tiggerpoo! I just found out today that there is a Nike outlet about 25 minutes from me. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if they carry the Straprunners, and how much they are. I'll also ask if they ship items. A friend told me that the outlet carries current items and they are greatly discounted!:) I'll let you know what happens.
Disneyfan551,
www.justforfeet.com does carry the Straprunner II's, but only in the blue. Niketown carries the III's, but I didn't see any II's there. They are priced at about $40. Some of your local sporting goods stores may also carry them, like the Sports Authority, Modell's, etc.:)

Our local mall has a Famous Footwear store that has women's Straprunners for $29.95. They are gray. If you have a Famous Footwear in your area, you might check them out.

I called that Nike outlet near me, and they only have the men's style in stock now. Didn't give me a price though. The personnel didn't seem too informed!
SamSam,
Thanks for the idea about Famous Footwear. They have a store in the same local as the Nike outlet. So I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Sports Authority has a sale on this week, of buy one shoe, get the 2nd at half price. Now if only they got their sandals in!!:)

Just bought a pair of Straprunner II's tonight. I got them at Sportmart. They had the gray and the blue. Both were on sale, the gray for 29.99 and the blue for 34.99. Don't know why there was a price difference. I bought the gray ones. I am wearing them around the house to be sure they fit OK and that I want to keep them. So far, they are really comfortable.

Thanks for the info! There aren't any Sportmarts around here though!:( I'm going to try Sports Authority before the sale is over and see if they received any sandals in stock yet.:)

For women...if the smallest men's size is still to big, try on the larger children's sizes! They're even cheaper! I almost always buy the men's because they cost less and I usually like the colors better. I usually wear an 8 or 8 1/2 in women's so I can't take advantage of buying the children's. I think I bought size 7 in the men's. I have worn Nike sandals for both of my previous trips, I love not having to change shoes or clothing for wet rides.

zracat,
Thanks for the information on the free shipping at www.justforfeet.com . I ordered the ones on sale for $14.97 even though they are the men's. It said in their size chart that a 7 is equivalent to about an 8-8 1/2 in a womens shoe, so we shall see. I ordered 2 pairs so that I could receive the free shipping. It was either $20 for one pair with shipping or $30 for 2 pairs with free shipping. I figure if I like them I'll have an extra pair, or if my DD likes them she can use them. I'm just trying to figure out why they charged me tax? In NJ, no clothing or shoes are taxable, at least at that price range. Here's hoping they fit!!!!:D

Keep checking back to see if the sandals are back on sale. Last week the price kept changing from $14.97 to $39.99. I'm not sure why, but it will probably go on sale again. Use the code posted for free shipping on two or more pairs of shoes. Good luck!:D

:bounce: Cindala, Wow what a great deal on your straprunners!
At the time I was looking, I couldn't find a pair anywhere that I liked.
I ended up buying the Teva Leather Circuits, they should be here any day now.
I had to get something and get them broken in, as we are leaving for Disneyland in May.
Please let us know how your straprunners work out ok?
Thanks,Tiggerpoo
:) I noticed you are from Lodi N.J.

have any of you tried the Aether sandal? I see it in the ad above the strapprunner and the color is a little better. They look very similar and it retails for about $5 more. It is also on sale for $14. What do you think?

Another site that you might want to check is: www.nearlyperfect.com select your choice of "women's," "men's," or "kids'" then "athletic shoes." They have several Nike ACG products although color and size choice can be very limited. The price is good-- typically $19.99 with free shipping. I ordered a pair of the men's Air Deschutz VIII sandals in gray (now sold out) which essentially look black, which is what I wanted. Ordered on a Saturday and received the next Thursday-- very pleased both with the sandal and the company.

Still waiting for my Nikes ordered on Sunday. Hope they come in soon! These are the same model as I bought last year, and I was very happy with them. :)
Beverly Lynn,
I was a diehard Teva fan; have the leather Pretty Ruggeds and the Circuits. However, I found the Straprunners to be amazingly much more comfortable last year. I couldn't get over how lightweight they were too!
jmhillrph,
I checked out that site, and they do have the strapprunners in the navy and cream. They are towards the bottom of the page. Good site to keep in mind! :)
Tiggerpoo,
How did your dog get the name Lodi? That is an unusual name. No one ever knows where we are from, so we say next to Paramus or Hackensack!

my straprunners arrived yesterday. I was only able to try on the left one and stand on it for a few minutes but it did feel quite comfortable. the sole part that your foot is on is really different with the design. I can't wait to wear them. but it will probably be a few more weeks before my cast comes off.

I just received an email from justforfeet telling me that my order has been cancelled because they are out of stock on my item. It took them a week to find out that my item is not available? I went to the website, and there are the Straprunner II's still on sale and showing that they are available!
So I decided to call their 800 number and see what was going on. Yes, my order was cancelled because at the time I ordered, the item was in stock, but was probably sold before they could pick and ship it. They don't have a central warehouse that they ship from, but from individual stores that might sell the item before it is put aside for your order! What a way to do business! ( The stores do receive a commission on these orders, so there is some motivation to pick the orders in a timely fashion.)
After about 40 minutes on the phone, we finally placed my order again, which is showing up in stock in several stores. Only problem is that the computer wouldn't accept my code for free shipping because I had used it once already. (Actually I didn't use it because the order was cancelled.) The CS person put a special note on the order to credit me the free shipping, so hopefully management will okay it. I'm going to send them an email today anyway to remind them to honor the coupon.
Now, when/if the Straprunner's finally arrive, I sure as heck hope they fit for all the trouble I went through! Sheesh, what loyal Straprunner users will go through!!!!:D
Sorry this is so long. I just had to vent. Hope everyone elses orders go through without a problem.:)

Thanks Beverly, but I ordered a size 7 in the men's. On their size conversion chart it says that both a men's size 7 and a women's size 8 are 9 11/16 inches in length. I'm hoping the 7 isn't too big!

My dh and I both had the straprunners for our trip last September. We couldn't wear them for too long. That tread pattern on the inside bottom sole starts to hurt after awhile. My dh wore them for two days, and then his feet started to kill. I could only wear them about 1/2 day before the bottoms hurt my feet. But they are very light weight and water and skid proof. It is just hard wearing them for such intense walking. Good old deodorant and socks and tennis shoes worked best for us.

I just bought a pair of black Nike Straprunners through Niketown.com, and I LOVE them! They are the most comfortable summer shoes I ever wore. I paid $40 for them plus S&H, then I saw the same ones in the mall in "The Shoe Dept." for $34. I picked up a pair for my husband.

I couldn't find the Straprunners anywhere, so I broke down and bought a similiar version in the boys youth dept.!!! For anyone interested... A boys 6Y (in Nike...), will fit a womans 7-1/2W!
Here's hoping that they will be comfortable during the Disney trek!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

After 3 weeks, I finally received one of the two pairs of Straprunners that I ordered. As I posted earlier, my first order was cancelled, and I reordered again, by phone. (Although they had trouble getting the free shipping code to work.)
After not hearing anything, I called customer service, and they told me my second order had also been cancelled!!! But lo and behold, they had a tracking number for SOMETHING that had been shipped to me, but they didn't know what! I followed the tracking number over the weekend from Missouri, and today ONE pair of the two Straprunners ordered, arrived. The receipt in the box shows that they did charge me shipping though, and a note at the bottom says that other item(s) will ship separately!!!
I ordered the men's size 7, in blue with lime green accent (just for the Dis!), and it fits exactly like a women's size 8 except that it is just a little bit wider. So if any of you need a little bit wider sandal this might work for you. (Hey, my feet always seem to swell in the summer, especially after all that walking at Disney!:D) Also the strap in the front is narrower than on the women's version. (this affects appearance only, not fit.) Anyhow, I think I'm going to keep them as the fit is good and I just love my Straprunners from last year.
Really funny thing is though, when I go to the justforfeet web site, and check on my account, it says that no orders have been shipped!!! Too funny!!!!

The Niketown website says that the Straprunner III's can be worn underwater. I would like to wear them to the waterpark. Does anyone know if they are actually waterproof? Has anyone worn them underwater? They really look comfortable.

:) How do like your straprunners? You sure went to alot of trouble to get them:eek:
I couldn't find any, so I ended up with the teva's. I do like them alot once you get the straps adjusted correctly.
I'm curious how the mens sizing on the Nike's worked out for you. (I was too chicken to try.)
Let us know how they feel.
P.S. My golden retriever's name is Lodi because I love Creedence Clearwater Revival's song -Stuck in old Lodi again! We adoptded him after my first golden passed away from cancer- Lodi was a year old and he had been roaming until somebody brought him to the shelter and lucky for us he became a member of our family! (I say that the Angel's saved him just for us

Tiggerpooh,
I used my Straprunners last summer at WDW, and to me, they were much more comfortable than my Teva's. They definitely were lighter, and had no irritation by the straps like the Teva's can. That is why I went to such an effort to get them again! The men's size 7 is approximately the same size as the women's size 8. And to me, their whole sizes run larger. For example, I have size 8's in my Teva's, and they fit more like a 7 1/2. The 8's in the Straprunners are more true to size.
Every foot is different, so only by wearing will you know if the sandals are for you, but I certainly give them a thumbs up!!:D
PS I'm definitely going to have to listen to that Credence Clearwater Revival song, as I have never heard it. Sounds like my lament: Stuck in old Lodi!:D
