I think this all started from Barb's question about the 3 Wonders....but I got to thinking about how much I would enjoy 2 Castaway Cay days and what the trade off would be. So here is the basic breakdown. I priced for 2 adults and 1 child in December for back to back Wonders or one Magic and the price for the Wonders is $500 less! That is a pretty big chunk of money, but I am not sure if it is worth missing the other islands or what... So basically, I am asking for opinions. What do you all think the pro's and con's would be?
I haven' really compared Navigators yet either....

I would probably pay the extra money not to have to go through all the disembarking procedures and boat safety drill twice in one trip. But to each his own.

I'd still go with the Magic. St Maarten and St Thomas/St John are so much more interesting than Nassau. The days at sea are very relaxing, and they have a lot more programming on the 7-day than on the 3-day and 4-day cruises. Plus, with the back-to-back Wonders, one of those days would be lost at Port Canaveral. If I were going to do back-to-back, I'd do the Eastern and Western 7-day itineraries, but the 3-day and 4-day compared to a 7-day cruise... forget it.

We have done two 3 day cruises and one 7 day. I can not see us doing another 3 day unless it was just for a quick getaway. I especially never see us doing two 3 days back to back. St. Thomas and St. Martin offer so much more than Nassau plus as Dave says, "they have a lot more programming on the 7-day than on the 3-day and 4-day cruises".
Try a 7 day and then compare.
Now the question. Eastern or Western?
Have a great trip.

Even though you would have to go through the safety drill again, you would probably not have to go through disembarkation unless the Customs regulations change. Personally we love days at sea and pretend that's what Nassau is, so we will be enjoying a lot of time on the ship! The Magic's Eastern ports of call were okay, but multiple stops at Castaway Cay are too darned tempting (we'll be doing the Western itinerary in May, so we won't be missing that by doing our three in a row on the Wonder).

Thanks for all the input! I am not too worried about the islands...I would definitely be on DCL again solely for the actual ship and Castaway Cay. I didn't think about the safety drill, good point! But as Barb said, two days at CC?? At least I have a long time to think about it....
