So once again, here's how it works. Post up how much exercise you are committed to doing for this month. It can be minutes, miles whatever. The milestones are as follows:
10% blue
25% green
50% purple
75% orange
90% red
100% silver
Over 100% gold
When you post up your numbers, please do so in this format: 100/1200 (minutes done/goal). It is really helpful if I don't have to do any math.

I will shoot for 900 minutes. I'm a wimp but need to step it up this month for sure. I did 30 minutes of a firm cardio work out this morning so I'm at 30/900. Thanks!

A little about me:
I run...alot, bike and swim. I also dance. I am a therapist for children and perform with a local company! Have 2 wonderful DDs and a wonderful DH. Anyway.......
my goal will be in minutes this month, but I may change that to miles if I see that works better...is that OK? I am going to shoot low this month b/c 12/8 I am running a marathon. SO....I will not be running as much after that. I expect to train for some Tris for 08 though...so we will see.
GOAL: 1000 min
I ran 90 minutes with a friend this morning so:

Do you mind if I join? I just started exercising midway through November, so I need motivation to keep going. This sounds like the perfect thing for me.
I am going to aim for 900 minutes. I am currently at 30/900.

I have been slacking as of late as I am battling a humdinger of a cold. But I ran sprints today and feel pretty good. I *thought* I could run an 8mph sprint, but alas, 7 is about as fast as my short stubby legs will carry me!! I am trying to improve my speed gradually, hoping to be able to run my next 5k in the spring in under 30 minutes. I can do it, just want to be able to do so without having a heart attack at the finish!!!:eek:

Add another 60 to me. I had 2 dancing shows and rehearsal. I may have picked up more, but I will err on the low side (err...that is very country!:lmao: )

I'm in for 1000 minutes! I'm at 44/1000 so far.
I'm also hoping to do some low-intensity activity throughout each day, given the recent evidence that sitting for long periods is bad for one's health. However, that will be harder to track, so I'm not going to count it towards my 1000 minute goal.

Chiming in again this month. Thanks for doing this again. Nov. and Dec. are my two busiest months of the year so I'm going to lower my goal for this month and vow to get in at least 30 minutes every single day so that will put me at 930 so I'll round it to 1000. Since I did some cardio over the weekend, my total now is:

Thanks for offering this challenge for December. I have thoroughly enjoyed Thanksgiving and DS22s wedding and now it is time to get back to work, serious work. Exercise is always a great motivator because after I exercise I don't want to eat any junk because it will undo the good my exercising has done. If I eat junk that means I would have exercised for nothing and I will not do something I really hate for nothing and not get any benefit from it.
I will exercise 600 minutes this month, I know it's not much but it is a start.
So far I am 0/600.
I know I can do this.

OK...I havebeen reall busy this week so just posting my minutes. Have been rehearsing for a new show and opend the show (Did it 6 times this weekend) and ran a marathon Saturday morning!:scared1:

mom2cookies, yes at your current pace you will meet your exercise goal by December 31. You only have 14 more days to exercise at 30 minutes a day to reach your goal. You can reach your goal by December 28 if you take off Sundays and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I know you can do it. Keep moving!!

I will be continuing to host the exercise challenge as long as no one objects.:rolleyes1 Any one have any ideas for other milestones or recognitions for future challenges? All ideas will be considered.
Tomorrow I am going to try out FitTV and see if there are any exercise videos I want to do. Anyone else done this? If so, let me know what you thought.

1000/1000 Made it to goal!
I'm going to set a goal of 1100 minutes for January. I seem to have hurt my leg some, so that may trip me up, but I'm hoping I'll be able to do it.
Also, I know that we don't usually do annual goals on this board, but since it'll be a new year, my goal is to do 12,000 minutes in 2008.
not feeling so good about my numbers : ( Mom2cookies, I know we have a lot of very dedicated exercisers on this thread, and looking at their numbers can be intimidating! (I sometimes feel that way, looking at the folks doing 1500 minutes or whatever.) But, the important thing is that you are exercising. Most Americans don't exercise at all!
The government recommendation is 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. That's about 600 minutes a month. So, if you can make your 600 minute goal next month, you'll be there!

Another 149 minutes this week, so now I'm 595/530. I surpassed my goal! And I still have another day to (maybe) exercise.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to update-just so busy around here. This is the first time in 16 years that I have had this week off, and I have had so much to do and enjoy with my family!!! Plus today I had to shovel the 12 inches of snow we got last night!!!
Tomorrow there will be a new thread for the month of January, and going with JudyS 's suggestion, I will have a sub-section for a exercise goal for the year. I am hoping to kick major booty in the coming months, trying to get down to a size 8 by May for my cruise. I just got into a 12, bought a pair of size 10 jeans as motivation. (I can pull them on with some work but cannot button them for love or money).

I am very disappointed that I did not make my goal. It was a measly little goal and I could not even do that. I remember starting the month off really strong and then struggling. Exercising while traveling has been quite a challenge. After a day on the road there is just so much that needs to be done in the hotel room and then I just want to collapse into bed.
This has been a wonderful experience anyway and I will be signing up for January's challenge with an increased goal.

My final total for December, 1043/1000. (I was away, so I didn't get to post before.)

As for exercising while traveling, that's not necessarily easy. I was away for New Year's and wanted to exercise at the hotel, and a big group of bratty kids (from maybe 8 to 12 years old) were watching me through the door of the exercise room and making fun of me! I found this quite upsetting.
