What would you rather win?

-50 years of DVC or
-1 night in the Cinderella Castle

I would pick the night in the castle. It's more magical.

1 night or 50 years of trips? I'd take the DVC!

Don't know if I have 50 years left, but I'd want to spend however many of them I have going to Disney every year!
Once you hit the half century mark, living another 50 years doesn't seem like a good idea. Too many things are already wearing out.
But I'm sure Disney wouldn't mind a truncated ownership.
Last month, a 79 year old woman won a Virginia Lottery $1000 a Week for Life lottery game. Wonder how long she will be collecting? Bet the Commonwealth of Virginia is happy that an 18 year old didn't win it.;)

50 years of DVC! The castle stay would be lovely but going to Disney for the next 50 years would be the most magical for me.

Honestly I would pick the 1 night stay in the castle. DH and I arent DVC owners (yet ;) ) but eventually with enough convincing to DH we will be. With 1 night in the castle, you cant make any ressies for it plus its one of those once in a lifetime things. With DVC, you can buy, but with the castle stay - you cant put a price on that!

My husband mentioned while we were watching a Disney video how much he would like to stay in the castle. I am sure that it is the chance of a lifetime. However, getting to go anywhere on vacation felt like the chance of a lifetime to me so I voted for the DVC membership to get what would have to be the chance of many lifetimes.

Even though a night in the castle would be amazing, I voted for 50 yrs of DVC. I would love to buy into DVC. Until we can pay cash for it, it's not an option. With 50 yrs of DVC, I could go at many different times a year. Maybe even take a "mommy and me" trip with my DS's one at a time, and still be able to do a family trip.

I would actually like the trip to all of the Disney theme parks. Ever since I was a child I have wanted to go to every Disney park. My secons choice though would be the DVC. We will probably break down and buy one eventually, but we too want to pay cash for it.

A trip to all the Disney parks was not one of the options, but I sure like the way you think. It would be fascinating to see how the parks outside the U.S. view Disney.

DVC hands down!!! Although I would love a night in the castle suite, 50 years of magical vacations Disney-style sounds like a true dream come true! Plus my kids are very little (one son about to turn 3 the other son will be 1 in May), so plenty of time to make Disney vacation memories!

Cinderella's castle, I love you, but I would rather have the opportunity to visit you more often with a DVC membership! ;)

Ooops. I guess I didn't read the question well enough. :) Given the choices I would choose the DVC. The castle is nice, but I want to be able to "relive the magic" every year.

Okay, I am putting on my head covering for all the stones that will be thrown at me lol, but I would not want to stay in the castle. I don't like it judging by the pics I have seen. It looks so dark in there. I would probably look around and ask if I can pass it on to a well deserving family. Maybe someone with young kids.

You can't Buy the Castle Stay
and I can't afford to Buy the DVC
so I would go for the DVC membership.

I would take anything that is being given away,
there are some really nice trips.

I hope the DVC will be won by someone who truely
can appreciate it and who would never be able
to afford a Membership on their own.

definitely dvc. we are already members, but it was hard enough just to buy in at the minimum level. I'd love more points to be able to book a grand villa! then i could take my family and friends on many more magical trips than we can now! I'll just have to keep hoping that we're in the right place at the right time when we're there in July!

NO questions asked I would be doing the crazy woman happy dance if I won 50yrs of Disney Trips. Who cares if I live 50 more years or not, just getting to go every year without forking over the huge cost would be so worth it.
I could so live at Disney. I always say if I win a lottery (of course you have to play to win), but I would use part of the money to go to Disney at least twice a year with my whole family for 2 weeks at a time. Heck I think I would give large amounts to charity with the agreement that I could go to Disney whenever I wanted.

What would you rather win?

-50 years of DVC or
-1 night in the Cinderella Castle

I would pick the night in the castle. It's more magical.

Winning that was the most amazing thing....The castle would be a great experience (1 shot deal) but our DVC win will last our lifetime, and our kids and grandkids vacations for the next 47 years are set!!

You can buy DVC, but you can't buy the castle.
As stated by the PP above who WON the DVC membership, after YOAMD it is rumored that the castle stay WILL be for purchase at around $2000/night. I think you win 260 DVC points per year for the next 50 years. At the going rate of $104/point, that is $27K+ to purchase DVC (not to mention the rest of the package which included taxes AND maintenance fees for the full 50 years). At just the price of the points, I could stay 5 nights in the castle (at $2K/night) for $10,000 and still have spent $17K+ LESS than to win the castle and pay for DVC (or about $70K less for the life of the DVC contract if I remember the value of the prize correctly).

And after my five night stay at the castle, I would still have 50 years of deluxe accomodations paid visits to Disney to enjoy, with my kids AND my grandkids.

I'll take the DVC and thank you very much! And congrats to cpdwiz on your great fortune to win!
