I love history and English with all my heart.
Unfortunately the people in my history class ruin it for me.
Everytime we watch a movie or something they keep talking and saying "Boo this is boring. OMG."
And they are jumping around like monkeys since it's after lunch.
So I can't really hear, they make these stupid comments when we are doing something. =(

But we are talking about the war on terrorism now and will until next semester. Then we are going onto World War II I think.
I loved learning about the Romans. =)

I absolutely love history. We are finishing up a chapter about King William's War, Queen Anne's War, King George's War, and The French and Indian War.

History is my favorite subject. World and American. It's the only subject that I never have to worry about for a test, and one of the only subjects I'm interested in. It's...teh best. :O

I take AP US History and my teacher screens students by making them write an essay to get in. He reads the essays and he'll only take people that he believes are genuinely interested in history and aren't just taking it for the fact that it's AP and they could get college credit if they took the exam. He has the right to turn anybody away. If you didn't write the essay, you can't enter the AP class.

But it's sooo amazing! I love my class and my teacher. Chambo is sooooo down to earth. He teaches like we're his equals while most of my other teachers teach like we're idiots. We've been through the discovery of the New World by the Spanish (Mexico/South America) and the English (The US), and even a bit of the French (Canada). We talked a bit about the Russians (Western US), too. We made it through the American Revolution, past the Elections of 1824 and 1828. We pondered the Spanish-American War, the French and Indian War, and the Texas War for Independence. We're just now getting to the Civil War, but we also hit on the Columbia Exchange, Women's Civil Rights in the 1800's, Jackson and the Indian Removal Act, Lewis and Clark's Expedition, along with a few other topics.

But I dare somebody to beat this:

We got to watch an episode of South Park because it was relevant to our discussion about the Mormons and Westward Expansion by Missionaries.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
And The Simpsons.

I love history this year. My teacher is amazing. He's really funny, and tells us we're a bunch of knuckleheads. Even though this is my first class in the morning, and I'm normally half dead for being up for a few hours, I always laugh in that class. My teacher, deep down, does care if we're understanding the material we've gone over in class.

Aw, I want to go to history now.

BTW, I'm in US I, and I love it.

History is my favorite class at my college and I have seriously considered changing my major from Psychology to History.

In high school I was never too interested in learning about history, and I didn't remember much of what I was taught. This year my professor just has this way of teaching and speaking that has helped me to retain so much more information in 4 months than in all 4 years of high school history.

I do!

I'm a History Major at college right now. I'm concentrating in American History. I love the Revolutionary time period, as well as the Depression and WW2 eras. I starting to like the Civil War era more now, mostly because Gettysburg College is like the perfect place to study the Civil War. hehe.

I'm in US to 1877 right now, and last Monday, our class met at Pickett's Charge and took a tour of the battlefield (stopping at the Peace Light, Little Round Top, Culp's Hill, and Cemetary Ridge), all while my professor talked about what actuall happened during the battle of Gettysburg. It was AWESOME. And not only that, it happened to be November 19th, with is Remembrance Day, the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, so the battlefield was swarming with people/reenactors. :)

Oh yes :)
I am studying history at degree level and am loving it! At the moment i am doing Early Modern England and Europe (1400-1700 approx) and The social problems during the Industrial Revolution.

I love it, although some of the lectures are dull, as my seminar tuitor is great! We have a different topic each week in EME, so last week it was 'The Family' and this week it was 'The State and Power'. Which means if you don't like one topic, theres always next week :) Plus i have loads of choice about what i study next year.

I loved doing American History during my A levels, we did The American Civil War and the American Civil Rights Movement 1865-1980. They were hard but great!
I am so fed up with the Tudors at the moment, ive doen so much on them they are comming out my ears! Although i love English history, i like discussing concepts such as 'the family' rather than when people did what.

And remebember, 'Those who do not understand History are condemed to repeat it'

So in all HISTORY ROCKS!

I am definitely a history buff. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in American History in May. I wrote my thesis on the New England Hurricane of 1938.
Now I am in graduate school working toward a double Masters in American History and Modern European History.
Right now I am taking Historical Methodology (which for all of you interested in majoring in history may be a requirement for your degree), History of Rhode Island, and The Civil War.
Next semester I am taking Post-War Europe, a seminar on Presidential Biography, a seminar on American Historiography (again a possible requirement), and Europe 1933-1945.

I have three papers due next week for history classes. One is on Imperial History, one is on the history of Jewish communities and organizations in Rhode Island, and one is on gossip, rumors, myths, and conspiracies surrounding Abraham Lincoln's assassination.

My main historical interests are meteorological history, 20th century World History, and The Civil War.

I'm interested in History to an extent. I'm not studying it or anything, but I'm really interested in fashion and lifestyles from the 1940s-1970s.
I definitley wish I lived in the 1940s, such awesome fashions!!
I'm really into movies & music from those eras too.

I don't find the furtrading in Canada exceptionally exciting.

I you're talking about history in general then it's pretty fascinating... but the class is a bit lame... and lots of projects. I have a presentation to do in may that has to last at least 20 minutes, but that's for idiots... they expect you to present for a good 45 minutes :scared1:

I'll trade you your minimum of 20 minute presentation for the minimum 15 page term paper and minimum 10 page term paper I have due tomorrow.

hah, Norah I'm right there with you... I had a 10 page due this past Wednesday, and I have another 10 page due on Friday. YAY history majors. :)

What I really want to do is become a Disney Historian. Or at least work in the Disney Archives. That would be the FUNNEST job EVERRR.

I think histroy is fun...sometimes. You know, it really has to be something you're interested in for it to be interesting. I love Egyptian history and stuff, but I was never into Chinese history or anything like that.

Anyway, I like History. :)

I like History. Bio is my favorite though. I always get and A in History. It is like I been to the palces. I usually know all about what we are learning before we actually learn it in class. People look at me when I am crazy when we get tests back and I do really good on them. I love it!

I like how history differs all over the world. If you learn about WWI in two different countries you have a much broader mind.

A Disney Historian?! That must be the most amazing job ever. I think I'd do that voluntary.
