Hi everyone....just found out some great news for the 5/11/02 cruisers on the Western itinerary.

Don "Ducky" Williams is on board and we just attended his seminar. He is the senior, blah, blah, illustrator for Walt Disney World. He does beautiful work and he handles all the illustrations for all WDW artwork like ticket graphics, lithos, guide books, etc. Anyway, we said he is doing a special litho to be handed out to the cruisers on the first Western Itinerary sailing of DCL. How cool is that!!!

During the seminar he drew about 15 sketches of all different characters and then raffled them off. They really were amazing.

Anyway, just wanted to let the Western cruisers know. I am assuming it will be the 5/11 sailing since he said the first one.

Take care...I am heading up to the pool deck to catch some sun!!

Oh, I miss that upper deck! I wish I had taken a picture of Allan from USA - he was the nicest beverage server I met. What a cutie too! DH keeps laughing at me - won't bring me my water with squeeze of lime either! If you see him around tell him you heard he was the best. He sometimes works up on Deck 10 and otherwise works in Studio Sea.

Don't forget your sunscreen - you'll be surprised how strong that sun is!

Wowwy!! ducky was on our 9/29 sailing of the magic last year! he was THE BEST!!!!!! His work is phenomenal!!! He even wore a kilt on formal nights! He gave away sketches at every event we went to!
I am most envious of you guys!!! :D :D :D :D

I agree! Ducky is the best! He was also on our Magic sailing early in 2001, and we attended both of his talks. His talent is amazing. I was in awe of how he could make such gorgeous sketches so casually. I have a Figment sketch from him that is on my desk at work. He was the nicest person. I am jealous of the 5/11 Western itinerary cruise. We will be one cruise too late, as we are doing the second Western sailing.

Dave....I am not sure if I met Matty02. I met Rikers mom, Karen. and Gobbi45, Ellen, and a few others but I was not sure of their screen names.

Today we are sailing through a storm, no sun. On embarkation day it poured all day. Alot of people had their luggage soaked because of the security at the Port (we had to leave our bags in the outer parking lot) A very big mess!!

Anyway, Ducky wore his Kilt to formal night last night. I was very impressed with his talk and he is doing a signing today.

Well I am off to our 9:45 ressie for Palo Brunch. On five DCL cruises I have never had brunch yet and am very excited. See you all later!!

Your post shows up under the id of the person that was logged in to the Dis from that workstation before you.

You're using a public pc with multiple users now and you'll have to get into the habit of logging out when you leave one of the pcs.
You posted under BenStone this time, but whoever uses the one you were at last time will be logged in as you.

The easiest way that I know of to logout is to go back to the TOP of the forums where it says 'Dis Discussion Forums' and then click on 'logout' just above the forum display list.

We haven't had much luck in finding other DISers.

I recommend that future cruisers be sure to wear their lime ribbons.
