anyone know if there are free in-room safes or is there a charge per day if used/

Free safes are included in the room and located in the closet. I prefer the older model with keys, now some have the "combination" codes. They also vary in size. Big enough for paper work, money, jewlery, and some may hold a small computer. Also you can have the front desk hold anything that won't fit. MKY:)

they definitely vary in size...
some are so narrow that all they fit were our airline tickets, passports, and other paper garbage from my purse....
but not much more than that...
others were able to hold both my and my husbands belly packs (when we went swimming)....
so yes, they vary in size...
they all were free...

AKL and BWI were small wall safes with key. GF had a floor safe with electronic lock that was big enough to hold my camera equipment.
