120mm...anyone? lol

Anyone ever take 120mm in Disney? Or more specifically, Holga?

120mm corresponds to only slightly more zoom than the typical point and shoot's 3x zoom in terms of where you stand and what you get within the frame of the picture.

It does take some math and photographic know how in order to relate the mm rating on the digital camera's lens to the amount of zoom. But most cameras specify the 35mm film camera equivalent lens focal lengths in the zoom ratings, typically around 35 (widest) to 105 (maximum zoom) for a digital point and shoot.

I would use it a lot. Mine has a 35 to 140 mm equivalent zoom.

i take 120 film to the parks often. this last trip i took my bronica and diana. i've taken holga in the park before, too

If its the 120 film that is sold for medium format cameras which is has a negative size of 6 x 4.5 inches and you are asking about howmany megapixels it will be it should fall somewhere around the 18-24 megapixels. There are digital medium frame cameras out there and the prices are in the range of 9k and up. Have been looking into getting a medium format film camera just for that reason the pictures i have seen from them are very rich in detail and color. Course I could be way off about the topic of the o/p but the cameras mentioned by Oblio are makers of medium format

Size 120 or size 620 film (the film is the same but the spools differ) yields negatives about 4x6, 6x6, or 8x6 centimeters (16, 12, or 8 exposures respectively per roll) depending on the camera. The 6x6 cm format was quite common both for precision twin lens reflex cameras (Rolleiflex etc.) and inexpensive box cameras like several Kodak Brownie models.

I've taken a Holga but didn't use it much. I have another toy russian camera that I also take sometimes but it uses 35mm.

I say take it, have fun but ask TSA to hand check your film if you are flying. Since it is wrapped in foil, they might not agree but it never hurts to ask. I had another photographer tell me that he wore his photo vest and put the film in his pockets so it wouldn't go through the x-ray machine. Can't do that now since you would have to take off your vest but if you had large pockets in your pants, you could fit some in.

but who wouldnt want 39 meg in a camera:cool1: thats why i am looking at film versions
