We had to put our beloved 2 year old puppy to sleep yesterday. We had a rough weekend with her having seizures etc. We discovered yesterday that she had extensive heart and lung disease. Anyway, my girls and my Dh are devastated (me too), so I'm trying to come up with something to creative to do with some photos of Patches playing and with the family and her dog tags that we could hang up and maybe color copy for a page. Does anyone have good ideas or know where I can look for ideas like this? Thanks so much, Cheryl:sad1:

First off many :grouphug: to your family. I know how it feels to have to do that. Not at all a good day!

Second off, you might www.twopeasinabucket.com. They should have some ideas there. Something like a shadow box would look nice with the tags hanging. Maybe everyone right on a tag type card their favorite memory.

Again so sorry for your loss.

No suggestions I'm afraid, just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about your loss. I've had dogs too and they are such a huge part of the family.

I am so sorry for your loss.

We lost our beloved Siberian 3 weeks ago. She has been we us over 13 years. We still aren't ready to do a memorial, so I have no ideas for you.

Just wanted to offer my sympathies to you and your family.

OH, AWM I didn't know that. :sad1:
We had to put our dog down 2 years ago, it nearly broke my heart. I just finished his album a few weeks ago. The kids have been asking for a new dog but I don't think I could go through that again.

Cheryl, I'm so sorry for your loss. How many pics do you have? Could you do an 8x8 album and a shadow box? We still have Popcorn's collar and red ball. I was thinking about doing a box for him.

I just couldn't talk about it when it first happened. I still tear up when I look out the window and she is not there. She used to put head on the rail of the porch in the corner, right outside window by the computer. So I am reminded every time I'm on this machine that she isn't here anymore.

Thanks for the hug.

DS7 still gets upset sometimes, it catches you at the oddest moments too. Anytime you need a cyber hug just let me know.

How about a shadowbox or frame with the puppy photos around the Rainbow bridge poem if it's meant to be a memorial?

I don't have any ideas but just wanted to say how sorry I am to both wdwmickey & AWM. It's been 2 1/2 years since I lost my first dachshund and I still miss her but often it's with smiles and laughter now, instead of tears. I know how hard it is to lose such a beloved family member.

Thanks for the hugs everyone. My DD-12 got lots of pics out last night and put them on her bulletin board in her room and wrote a poem. So I think I'll put the poem and the dog tags in the middle of a shadow box with lots of pictures around them, I'm not ready to make the memorial yet but apparently it is what DD needs right now (she is my "little scrapper") so I'll help her with it.

That sounds like a lovely memorial.

Our beloved pets are members of the family, it is so hard when we lose them.

Hugs to you both.

WDWMickey, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost one of my pups last year and he was so special. It's so hard. My thoughts are with your family. I would love to see what you put together when you do your shadow box. I haven't been able to do mine yet, or even put up his framed photos....(we had some portraits done, if you can believe that.) I still have some of his toys that were special just to him, his collar and other things, so I've love to see what you do with yours. Take care!:flower3:

And, AWM, I was so surprised to hear about your doggie. I knew she was having health problems but didnt know you lost her recently. And, from my experience, it doesn't make it any easier even though they've had health problems for a long time....they're still a vital part of the family. Love and pixie dust to you.....Believe me, I know what you're going through. Anytime, you need to talk or write, just let me know....I'm here and really understand!
