After briefly wandering OT in Obi's which car am i driving thread, I thought I'd throw this open to the masses to help me decide! :goodvibes

Which car should i go for? Pricewise, they're more or less identical. I'm going through contract hire through my business so there's literally a couple of quid in it.....

I asked DW, and she just rolls her eyes and blanks me the moment I mention cars.... her exact response was *bored glance* "as long as it's comfortable i don't care, it's a car. Now if it was a Lexus, i'd be interested." She likes the RX400h (the 'h' being important - she likes the looks of it as a 4x4 but likes to point out she would only have one if it was the slightly less thirsty hybrid model)

So, Mondeo Estate

Or an S-MAX:

Personally I would go for the S Max - what a bout a Focus ST? ;)

What are the reports on the S-Max? Just like we all consult Trip Report for hotels there must be somewhere to read up on a car....can't you get a Chelsea Tractor just to cheese everyone off:rotfl: You can then wait at a junction for someone to let you out for hours, just like i have to:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

went for the Smax just because being an 'Smax Man' is way cooler than being a 'Mondeo Man' :cool1:

Reports are good other than the odd airline-like spongey handbrake. Since i'll be specifying an auto gearbox (bad back, clutch really doesn't agree with me), i have a bad habit of not using the handbrake anyway!

In terms of driving they're both pretty parallel - i've had extended test drives of both over a period of a week a time to see which i want to go for, and i really am split evenly between them!
