Hello all. I am staying at Disney World next week and will not have a car. If I need to go to walmart or target or other similar store, what is the least expensive way to get there? Is there one within walking distance of any Disney property?

You can get littel things on property. I know the "POP" hotels are not too expensive. I am not sure what you would need that you need to go to a store. Only thing I can think of is hiring a car and they can help you do that at the concierege desk. have fun! :)

I'm not sure what you think you'll need that will require access to those other stores. You'll need to rent a car (available on the property) or take a taxi to reach the stores you mentioned. Onsite, the gift stores in the resorts have some toiletries, OTC medicines, books, magazines...the usual stuff. You can also find stores that sell snacks and drinks. There are also a couple of Hess gas stations within walking distance from some resorts that have convenience stores attached to them. That's it unless you get a rental or taxi.

Calling a taxi would be the least expensive option for you. There is a Walmart and a Target within a 10-15 minute drive from WDW. As other posters have said, all resort gift shops sell the staples (soda, water, snack foods, etc.). Even though these items are slightly more expensive than if you bought them at Target/Walmart, you also have to factor in the cab fare - the cab fare might cancel out any potential savings.

Enjoy your trip!
