We've got 2 days, 1 for each park planned, Combo express tickets. We're not at all familiar with either park. Anyone want to brief me on what attractions are a must see or give me a tip on what to do first? We're two adults and two teens. I'll take any help offered!!!

Ah, perfect! My family and I just went to USO/IoA this past July: Mom and Dad, two teenagers. (Me and best friend)

DO NOT MISS:
USO: Revenge of the Mummy (ROTM), Horror Make-Up Show, Beetlejuice Graveyard Revuve, Men In Black (MIB), Terminator 2: 3D Battle Across Time, Twister, Shrek 4D.
IoA: Hulk, Spiderman, Dueling Dragons, Popeye and Bluto's, Dudley Do-Right, Jurassic Park River Adventure (JPRA), Dr.Doom's FearFall.

For more details, check out my trip report (in-progess). It's under the USO/IoA trip reports boards, The Amazing AmandaSparks730 Birthday Trip! It has details on rides, attractions, the Royal Pacific Resort, the POV of a teenage girl, etc.

I echo what Amanda said...see as much as you can and don't miss anything. You might want to check out Seuss Landing...even though it's mainly for the youngsters, you might like Cat in the Hat and the Seuss Sky Trolley...my parents did. :thumbsup2

In IOA -

The Lost Continent- Poseidon's Fury. After that, walk across the way and have lunch at Mythos, argueably, the best them park restaurant in the country.

In USO - Jaws if it's not still in refurb.

You haven't gone to IOA if you don't do Spiderman. Nuff Said.

Another strong recommendation for Mythos as your lunch spot one of the days -- not sure if they're open for dinner. If they are, great, you get more options for timing. It's really, really good (and I'm familiar with your own cooking and recipes!). I truly think you'd seriously enjoy it. Try and request a seat where you can see out the window. The risotto of the day is always exciting and delicious, and one of the best pork tenderloin dishes I've ever had has been from Mythos: Pistachio, blueberry and blue cheese encrusted pork tenderloin, served with smoky gouda mac & cheese and sauteed spinach with garlic. They drizzle a sweet port wine reduction over the pork and a good bit ends up on your mac & cheese. To die for. I've had this several times for lunch. The prices are beyond reasonable.

Spiderman is "the ride" IMO of the park.

Universal, go on as much as you can ride-wise. Our lunch must-do here is Finnegan's, fish & chips and good beer. We sit at the bar. I don't know what the "restaurant" atmosphere is like, but the food's awesome and the beers are large and strong :thumbsup2

And you can't say you really know IOA until you know Notatourist by sight.
