Well, it was our final day and I just had to have one last wake-up call from Mickey so we rolled out of bed at 7:30 AM. We opted not to go out for breakfast today so we dined on a delicious combination of Starburst and Granola Bars chased down with some Lipton’s Iced Tea. Breakfast of champions! We staggered around the room, gathering all of the clothes that we would NEVER leave laying around our regular house, and packed them away. Went down to the baggage check and left our bags with them and headed to the General Store one last time to collect our Millennium pins (we had some from our trip in September) and to purchase and mail a monorail set for my 2 year old son. We then walked to the marina area of Dixie and hopped on a boat to Downtown.

It was a nice 20-minute trip and we got a chance to see some of the Disney Institute Tree houses and property. We went directly over to the Lego-land area and played for awhile. I snapped some pretty cool pictures of my wife with the creations. There was hardly anyone there which was a shock compared to our last 3 days at the parks. We store hopped and my wife seemed to buy something in every store. Citibank Visa will probably send me a thank you card this year. From magnets to Cowboy attire there is something for everyone. Even cigars for the Big Dude. I must admit I felt a little like Homer Simpson with my nose pressed against the store where the girl was dipping apples into caramel! Then we made our way to DisneyQuest.

There was the line that I was accustomed to. We waited for about 20 minutes then were finally let onto the elevator/transporter. We went to play a few games with the $4.00 in free coupons we received from a nice guy in a kiosk along the strip. After that, we sat down and learned to draw Donald Duck at the animation station. I have a new found respect for those Disney animators after I butchered Donald for 35 minutes. By that time the line had shrunk for the Virtual Space Mountain. We waited for about 15 minutes when we were ushered to our pod. We didn’t design our own coaster but instead asked for the sickest 5 they had. That’s when physical reality set in. After asking the CM in the beginning of the line if I was too big for the simulator and being assured I was not, I found out that I indeed was too big for the overhead bar to engage. What a bummer. That was the only ride in the whole of Disney that I had a problem with because of my size. (6’2” 345 lbs. hence my name Big Dude) We walked out of there and over to the human pinball game. After studying the winner’s strategy from the round before us, I was sure to smoke everyone in my group. After the smoke cleared, there I was perched in a solid 4th place. When I glanced at the scoreboard and saw that #9 was the winner, I looked around to congratulate that person. That person was none other than my wife. How could this be happening to me? That game was a hoot. Before leaving, we went to play some old arcade games that brought back some very good memories of the old days. (Missile command, Q-Bert, Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Space Invaders etc.)

We wanted to end our trip with some good food so we went to the Rainforest Café. I just love this place and I would have to say that I couldn’t remember getting BBQ Baby Back Ribs any tastier than at this place. Some other items we had included the Catfish Bites, Pot Stuffers, some kind of Rainbow drink that was very, very good and the Death By Chocolate cake for dessert. I couldn’t move after getting out of that place. Back to the boat and off to Dixie for the final time. We relaxed in the front lobby on the only couch that had a cushioned back and reminisced about our trip. At 6:30 we picked up our bags and boarded a Mears Van that would take us to the airport. Some guy was in the seat in front of us with a video camera and was shooting film in the dark. That was pretty weird. Someone also managed to pass a little wind before we exited the van. (a fitting end to our trip) Through security and onto our flight back to New Jersey, sleeping all the way. When we landed in Allentown it may have been snowing, but we had some beautiful warm memories of our Pre-Thanksgiving Frozen Turkey (trip). If anyone would like to know more about any part of our trip, I will be more than happy to share it with you. After all, this board is where I received most of the advice that has made my trips to WDW a huge success for me.

Thank you for your report. Very romantic (except the passing of gas and vomit on the bus) Can't wait until DH and I can go "alone".
