Other than the obvious of tying up a car that I may not use, does Dollar "charge" you for a no show? Due to circumstances I won't go into, I may not know if I need this ressie until I arrive at MCO. What happens if I just don't show?
Thanks

Some car rental companies have a charge for no-show, they should tell you at the time you reserve over the phone, or it should be in their policies as found on their web site or Travelocity.com. However I contend you have the right to dispute any policies and terms unique to some locations (e.g. Orlando-only) that cannot be obtained without a long distance call.
Speculation: It is conceivable that customers with a record of no-show may receive poorer service for future rentals. What if, they collected data bases on no-shows and those customers got a hard time at a different airport in the future when they ran out of cars?

I looked on Dollar's web site for no show info. I couldn't locate any. I had the same situation the last time we went and at that time I just walked up to the counter and gave them my print out from the web and told them I wouldn't be needing the car. I was hoping to avoid this confrontation this time.

Instead of going to the counter, why don't you go to a pay phone and call their 800# to cancel? If you have a credit card on file, I would check beforehand what the cancellation policy is. I saw on a National reservation that it's $50 for cancellations less than 24 hours prior.
