Hi
I've just broken my glasses and as we are off in a couple of days, i was just wondering if they are any better/cheaper State side?
Has anyone bought prescription glasses over there and how was the quality and speed of service.
Cheers
Tony

What a twonk!!;)
I've sometimes looked in the store at Mall at Millenia (which I think is a Lenscrafters), and they do promote a 1 hour service. However, as with this country I suspect that their ability to do this may be affected by your prescription. Mine's pretty bad and if I want "thin" lenses I can never get them in 1 hour.
Sure you'll enjoy yourself regardless on glasses:thumbsup2

I buy my glasses over there, just like the frames more. The cost is comparable with the UK.
The only problem is that they read the prescription information differently in the States so they sometime shave problems undersanding a UK prescription.

Matt - I'm the same, but one trip I managed to break my glasses the first morning we were there (that awful, sinking dread when I was cleaning them and suddenly realised half were in one hand, the other half in the other hand). Hotel staff recommended Lenscrafters, I had no prescription with me and they made me a brand new pair in less than an hour from my old specs.
Excellent, friendly service, great prices and masses of choice.
It never ceases to amaze me how it can take Boots over two weeks to make my new glasses up because of my prescription over here:confused3
