Well, my ticker offically says one month.. kind of... so I feel ready to start nailing down some plans, sharing some insight into the trip, and striking up some conversations with the most Disney-fied group of online friends! Everyone ready?
Let me begin by sharing some pictures... because I LOVE looking at everyone's pictures, don't you?
Here is my family...

This was taken Labor Day weekend of 07. For those of you joining me after reading that TR... welcome back! So glad I didn't bore you away!!
I'll give more details about them in the next episode!!
DH and I are officially Disney obsessed... we love everything about Disney, and the standards they set for themselves...
If you've seen these pics already, sorry!
Here is our bedroom... don't worry.. it's safe

Yes, our neighbors think we are crazy and that we worship false idols.... guilty, I guess!:confused3
Here's the wreath with the lights on... well, almost all of them on.. we need to replace a few strands! DH and I made this wreath ourselves by combining several.. well, three to be exact. We made the neighborhood crack up when this went up the first time, three years ago!

Oh you guys really will, it will be so much fun.
That is a great idea about the disney reef, you know what i am going to buy after the holidays, i stock up like crazy after the holidays to get everything on clearance for the next year.
It is not worshiping false idols, you are just putting up decorations. Nothing wrong at all with the mickey reef.
My house was jammed packed last year with decorations, and i still bought 15 more boxes of lights for outside, and 12 more candy canes, not sure what i am going to do with them all, that is planned out on Saturday when the go up. I have a few ideas in my head, but still thinking them out, i have something cool planned for a few of our trees.
Ohh and i got another blow up santa for the yard.
Already have 1 mickey 7 footer, now i have another one with homer.
But he is only 5 feet tall.:thumbsup2
How did you secure them together the reefs?

You need to take a picture of all of your holiday stuff! I love seeing what other people do!
We used wired to secure the wreaths together... we got the thickest wire we could get, that was still pliable enough to bend and twist. When we hung it up, we used picture hanging wire (heavy duty) and hung one wire from his head, and one from each of his ears.
I'm onboard too!
:yay: Welcome! I'm so excited to have you along for the next ride!! Even though we won't have any cute toddler stories this time...

All righty everyone. Here we go!
Allow me to introduce myelf and my travelling companion.
My name is Susie. I'm 34 years old and I'm an elementary teacher in Indianpolis. This year, I actually started a new job after teaching 2nd grade for 10 years. I am the 'applied technology' teacher. I have a lab with 30 newish Dells in it. The kids are dropped off to me by their classroom teacher (like gym, music, or art). I have them for 50 minutes. We do Word, Excel, Power Point, and use the internet for all of our projects. It is the BEST gig in the world!
I am a performer. I started in band/choir, moved on to dance/color guard, then finally found my way onto the community theater stage. I would give ANYTHING to perform in some way, shape, or form at WDW.
I've been a Disney-a-holic since I can remember. I think it really kicked in the year the Little Mermaid was released. Now that I am old and have my own family, DisneyWorld is our vacation place. We have no need to go anywhere else, yet.
My DH is Matt. He is 35. He is a band director in Avon, IN. If anyone out there follows marching bands, they are one of the top in the nation. They just won their SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE state championship, and placed 2nd in the nation at Bands of America Grand National Championships. Needless to say, I don't see him very much. He rehearses with the band ALL THE TIME!!
Matt also works with drum and bugle corps. If anyone out there follows DCI... Matt is the brass caption head for Carolina Crown. He is absolutely amazing at what he does!! I'm so proud!
Here's a lovely photo of us:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/DSC_0998.jpg
See the bandos in the background? This pic was taken about 2 years ago. Matt and I were on staff with the Bands of America Honor Band that marched in the Rose Bowl parade. He worked with the musicians, I choreographed the routines for the color guard!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/RoseBowlandDisneyland027.jpg
We had fun.. and what made it even BETTER? Guess who the Grand Marshal for the parade was that year?
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/RoseBowlandDisneyland028.jpg
Oh YEAH!!!!
We also had time to visit DisneyLAND during the holidays.. that was very cool!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/RoseBowlandDisneyland050-1.jpg
Well, oooops... that just turned into a band extravaganza, didn't it!:sad2: I'm just excited because they announced the return of the honor band for the 2009 Rose Bowl, and DH and I have been asked to teach again!! That can be a mini-DisneyLand TR, can't it?
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo anyway...
This is another adults-only trip for Matt and me. We took one last year in January as well (TR in siggie). We try to do one every year. It's such a great refresher for a marriage that sometimes gets lost in the busy-ness of our lives and the demand that kids put on you. This is an extra special trip, because we are celebrating our TEN years of marriage!!:cheer2: Our actual anniversary was on November 22... but we ignored it, really! We just want to celebrate it in the right place!!
Now you kind of know who we are.. up next is the insanely ridiculus and frustrating way we ended up at POR at the end of January, instead of cruising on the Wonder and celebrating New Year's at WDW...:upsidedow

Nah... unfortunately, we didn't actually get to go INTO the Rose Bowl... but we spent a lot of time outside of it getting pictures taken!! The parade is awesome! We also got to see them working on the floats. I have some great up-close pictures of the floats... AMAZING!!:worship:

So let's go back several, several months ago... when DH and I were looking at our DVC points for the year. We had banked enough to finally go on our first cruise.. it was perfect, since we were celebrating ten LONG years!! So we booked one for January 3. Just a short 3-nighter, in the cheapest, non-ocean-view room you can get... but we were so excited!
Fast Forward a few months later. DH has a few great friends that teach Drum Corps with him, and they are also DVC members. One of them is getting a GRAND VILLA at SSR and invites us to stay with them and another couple on New Year's Eve. SWEET!!! A GRAND VILLA with two couples that love Drum Corps and Disney!?!?
So our plans were set! Fly into WDW on Dec. 31... spend NYE with great friends, stay with them until they leave on Jan. 2. We found a room at BCV for one night... then on to the ship on Jan. 3. Come home on the 6th.. then head to school the next day. We were good to go..
Then it all started to crumble...
First, one of the couples backed out of the NYE fun. That was okay.. there would still be the other couple.. you know, the ones forking over the big points to stay in a Grand Villa on NYE?!?! (They have A LOT of points, I tell ya!)
Nope... next.. THEY back out! Turns out their son (Who marches at Carolina Crown, where DH teaches) has a Drum corps camp shortly before the New Year, and they don't want to only spend a few days there.. they want the whole sha-bang!!
So now, DH and I are out of our accomodations for the New Year.. but we still want to go a few days before the cruise. And neither one of us had ever been at WDW on NYE. So we called to add on to our one night at BCV... SORRY.. NOTHING AVAILABLE. We got put on a wait list.
That's okay.. we both have friends that live in Orlando, we can just stay with them if our wait list doesn't pull through.
Fast Forward another few weeks... Dh and I come to the realization that we are in NO financial situation to be buying plane tickets... eating out for several nights... and paying for transportation to our ship. After MUCH discussion and some SLAP IN THE FACE reality checks... we cancel our trip... including the cruise. :guilty: But there was a light at the end of the phone call:
Drum Corps International holds a convention every year, which DH attends as a representative for Carolina Crown. Guess where the convention is this year? YUP, Orlando! The Drum Corps pays for DH's plane ticket to go down there. So now we'd only have to pay for mine. Since we cancelled our January trip, we had some points left in reserve to use... so let's go!
So, I call Disney again.. and find out that the points I used for the cruise cannot be used at a DVC resort... some kind of confusing exchange system.. but I don't want to bore you with that. So we can use them at a regular Disney Resort. Unfortunately, we don't have enough points to stay Deluxe, and you can't use them at Value... so moderate it is. We decided to try CSR since we had never been... guess what? Nothing available!!!:headache: Call back later and book POR. We are set...
Except we then get the schedule for the DCI convention... and it is a bit more involved than DH remembered. So we have to call back AGAIN to change a few nights. Hopefully they will be available.. or I might have to hurt someone.
SO... here is our final.. hopefully... plan!
LEAVE INDY Friday morning 1/25
ARRIVE ORLANDO Friday afternoon around 2
RENT A CAR and get ourselves on property!!
I get two days ALONE while Matt attends his DCI convention. I'm completely excited about this.. I just LOVE to be alone!!!
Spend two days in Disney WITH DH
LEAVE ORLANDO Tuesday night 1/29
ARRIVE INDY late Tuesday night
Get our butts up for work on Wednesday!
I will get a bit more detailed after I call Disney on Monday and make a few date/ dining changes (Yes.. I had ALREADY done our ADR's when we decided to change up the dates.... ugh!!)
Seriously.. I have never, ever changed up a trip after making the initial reservation. I just do it.. and a few months later, we go!
This trip has been CRAZY!! I can't believe how many times it has changed. But now that it's less than two months away.. it needs to get finalized!
Okay.. If anyone REALLY sat here and ready that.. you REALLY need to find something else to do with yourself... REALLY!!:lmao:
Next update should have a rough outline of our schedule!

Okay... after reading Lesley's pre trippie and hearing that she already has her ADR's for JUNE:eek: I thought I better get my butt on the phone and get my changes made before it's too late!
After a 20 minute wait...:guilty: I spoke with a fabulous CM who helped me make all of my changes. I'm READY TO GO!!!
Here's a very basic outline. I do not like to plan specifically what I'm doing at each park. DH and I are very quick to change our minds based on the situations, crowds, rain, feet pain, stomachs, crowds.. whatever! Don't like being tied to specifics.. but here you go:
FRIDAY 1/25:
Flight (direct) from Indy to Orlando. :cool1: Arrive around 2 pm. Rent a car (still need to do this.. ugh!) and drive to POR.
DH will drop me off and head into Orlando for his Drum Corps convention.
Tonight is DTD night for me. I will be flying solo and am VERY excited about it! Planning on browsing the stores, visiting Goofy's place for the 1st time, and possibly seeing a movie. Any other ideas?
SATURDAY 1/26
I am on my own for the WHOLE day today. DH will be busy at his convention.. poor little fella..
There are AM EMH at the Studios. I will start out here and get my fill of RNRC and TOT. I'd like to check out the animation exhibit. Can anyone tell me more about this?!?! I've read about it in other TR's.. a place where you go to learn how to draw characters?!?! That is right up my alley.. and I'd love to know where it is and what it's like. I will also take the time to watch the street performers. No one ever lets me do this!
Next stop will be AK. I want to ride EE several times (Missed it on the last trip due to toddler duty!) and watch the NEMO and Lion King musicals. I'd also like to catch the bug show under the tree.. it's been several years since I've seen it, and I was consoling DS at the time.
After that.. up in the air? Back to POR for some pool/magazine/cold drink time? Over to other resorts to check them out?
See my next post.. I would love some suggestions about what YOU would do if you were alone and could do whatever you wanted?!
Sunday 1/27
I'm still husbandless on this day. MK might be today. I've always talked about exploring Frontierland and Adventureland, because we NEVER go here! I WILL try my first Dole Whip on this day! I WILL!!:woohoo:
I'll probably end up at the resort for the afternoon so I can relax and get primped up for my reunion with DH and our California Grill/ 10year anniversary dinner! I'd love to visit a fancy salon (ala Michelle), but not in the budget at this time! We have 5:30 reservations. We will dine with class (and hopefully I'll get around to ordering a special cake for us, too!) and then head over to MK for PM EMH. We will go ride what we want while everyone else is watching Wishes. *(Sorry.. we are die-hard Illuminations fans!!):confused3
Monday 1/28
We will sleep in slightly. Breakfast ADRs at KONA at 9:30 am. Can't wait to try the Tonga Toast!! After KONA, we will head over to EPCOT. Notice I saved EPCOT until I can be with DH. This is our place!! I wouldn't feel right being there without him. We are going to take a REAL walk around WS. Stopping by the shops, taking in the scenery, listening to Voices of Liberty AT LEAST three times... ahhhh... I just can't wait!:hourglass
That afternoon, we will venture over to the Studios. We have a dinner ADR at PTC. We plan on being extremely mischevious while we're there! Our server will be busy reprimanding us!!:upsidedow There are PM AMH at the Studios that night. We will close it out riding RNRC and TOT.
Tuesday 1/29
Leaving day...:sad1:
AM EMH at Epcot will be our start. Ready to ride Soarin', missed out on that one on the last trip. I will stay FAR, FAR away from that God forsaken NEMO ride!!! Test Track and Mission Space:Orange Side will be top priority. We have early lunch ADRs at Coral Reef. When I called to make ADRs, I asked about the personalized menu.. he said that wasn't available there:confused3 huh? I thought I've heard of many people on the DIS talking about their menus from Coral Reef... anyone have any idea what he was talking about? Anyone have a phone number for Coral Reef, or a place where I can find one? I really want to make this "last meal" of our anniversary trip a special one... help if you can!
We won't have to catch ME this trip, since we are renting a car.. so we won't have to leave 5 hours before our flight:confused: so we will suck up as much Disney as we can before we have to leave...
We have a connection in Atlanta on the way home, and will be back in Indy around 10pm. We'll have to gather the kids from wherever they are, and set the alarm for a very depressing day back at school! At least it will already be Wednesday and the weekend won't be too far away!
SO THERE IT IS!! Any ideas? Suggestions? Questions? Thanks for reading! It helps so much to share it and think about it ahead of time, doesn't it!!!
Til later....

If you have a moment, please think about being at WDW by yourself for a day or two... you have the freedom to do anything you want. Where would you go? What would you see? What would you do? I have some ideas, but they are based on my own experiences.. I'd love to see what YOU all would do... I might get some great ideas!!
ALSO...
I am really interested in the animation exhibit at the Studios.. the one where you actually get to draw. I've only heard about it, and don't know anything else. If you know about it, or have participated in it, please fill me in! I don't even know where to find it.
THANKS EVERYONE!

We had some good snow today.. I thought I'd share a funny moment!
Here is Shae all bundled up and ready to play in the the " 'noooo!" (as she calls it)
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Holidays07065.jpg
And here she is after we made a cute "baby" snowman. She was ticked off because when I asked her to stand by the baby snowman, she kept trying to SIT on it!!! So after firmly telling her to STAND.. she freaked out! I just love the terrible twos! Seriously.. I was laughing when this was happening.. you just gotta laugh sometimes!

I did a search when I wanted to call the Coral Reef on this sight. They had mentioned that the menu diver free fun might not happen in 08--- so I wonder if you ran into that with your call. Lots of alone exploring time, I am sure that this trip will be more relaxing than with Shae. Looking forward to the rest of the planning. Have you considered doing a tour during your free time- I think that would be fun to do someday.

The number I have for the Coral Reef is (407)560-6784. Let us know what you find out about the sign if anything.
What would I do in the world by myself...hmmmm, well I am really big into the movies so I would probably spend most of my time thoroughly combing through everything at MGM. I would look at all the art, walk through all the exhibits, etc that DH would normally find boring and rush me through, or that I can't go into with a toddler. I would just soak it all up and enjoy it.:thumbsup2
Cute pictures by the way!! Too funny about her wanting to sit on the snowman.:rotfl:

We did the animation drawing thing and it was great fun, so much infact my DD's made us go straight from the exit into the next show :rotfl2: You can actually get to it without going through the lines and the preshow bit by going through the shop :thumbsup2
You sit at a drawing desk on a little stool and the animator sits up front, he normally allows one of the guests to choose who you draw (we drew Mickey and Daisy) he then shows you (via a big screen) step by step how to draw the character which you follow, it's pretty good fun especially when your 10 y/o draws a better MM than you do :rotfl2: Have fun and take photos of your creations :lmao:

I'll let you know what I find out. I chose this restaurant simply for the diver/menu experience, since I've heard the cuisine isn't the greatest. If it doesn't work out, we might be dining elsewhere!

Well, I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had the best one ever! It was just the four of us. We didn't have to get out of our pj's and robes all day! We didn't even make a fancy meal.. we just opened gifts, laid around, took naps, watched movies, and enjoyed EACH OTHER for the whole day!
I thought I'd post some pics and then update you on our trip status... which, if you check out the ticker, is DOWN TO DAYS!!:dance3:
First, a lovely picture of the kids taken with Santa at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. If anyone ever visits our city with children, you MUST check this place out! It's superb!!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Holidays07092.jpg
I think Shae has become a pro with Santa. She just adores him. After watching one family shove their screaming 3-year-old son onto Santa's lap, we got to watch our little angel go running up to him with open arms. Just precious. I'm sure it has a lot to do with her experience with the Disney characters! Those 'larger than life' folks don't intimidate her one bit!
After visiting Santa, she went for a ride on the carousel. We didn't do this ride at WDW.. next time for sure! She LOVED it!!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Holidays07100.jpg
Christmas Eve-Day was spent making cookies. As you can see, we did our little tribute to Mickey for Santa to eat!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Holidays07116.jpg
And here are the little ones with their favorite gifts:
Tyson with Zoo Tycoon:

Shae with her little baby and bottle:

A couple of my favorite "me-time" activities:
* Taking the camera to a park and getting all those shots I never have time for with family or friends in tow.
* Going for a walk/run around any number of resorts, but my faves are BW, CBR and POR.
* DTD - shopping without interruption!

Great ideas! I wish I had a better camera, to try to get some of the amazing shots I spy over on the photography board.. but I could at least get some different ones when I'm alone...
This will be my first time at POR, so a walk around the resort sounds like a perfect idea.. thanks!

Okay.. a few minor dining changes.. but I basically copied and pasted this from a few posts ago. Changes are in red. Nothing too exciting.. but depending on DH's conference, he could be done at 10:30am on Sunday... or not until 5pm! So we had to change our Cali Grill ADR... can't miss those ressies or they charge you $20 a person!
FRIDAY 1/25
Flight (direct) from Indy to Orlando. Arrive around 2 pm.
I'd also like to catch the bug show under the tree.. it's been several years since I've seen it, and I was consoling DS at the time.Going to eat lunch at Flame Tree.. I head (thanks jordanyosh) that I can get a peaceful seat by the water and enjoy some pulled pork.. mmmmmm.
After that.. up in the air? Back to POR for some pool/magazine/cold drink time? Over to other resorts to check them out?I've decided to go for a walk around Animal Kingdom Lodge. I've NEVER seen this place, and from all of the great pics on the DIS, I think I just need to go see it for myself! I will also investigate the DVC villas that are there...
I WILL!!
Today will be up in the air depending on DH. He is trying to get onto a task force for Drum Corps International. If he makes it onto the task force, he'll be gone until 5pm! If he doesn't, he'll be 'home' by lunch. I went ahead and made dinner ressies at 50s PTC but will cancel them if he ends up staying in Orlando until 5. After MK, I would like to take the boat over to WL to take a walk around that resort. Another one I have NEVER seen but have been intrigued with all of the pics around DIS. This day will be go-with-the-flow day!
Stopping by the shops, taking in the scenery, listening to Voices of Liberty AT LEAST three times... ahhhh... I just can't wait!
That afternoon, we will venture over to the Studios. We have a dinner ADR at PTC. ((Our dinner at PTC was changed to Sunday.. tonight had to be Cali Grill. It stinks because it worked perfectly with Studios EMH.. but our 10th anniversary dinner is a big deal and we want it to be at CG... SOOOOO... we will probably to Epcot until afternoon. Go back to POR to freshen up for dinner. Eat at CG, watch Wishes from the top of the Contemporary, then head over to the Studios for EMH.))
Tuesday 1/29
Leaving day...
When I called to make ADRs, I asked about the personalized menu.. he said that wasn't available there huh? I thought I've heard of many people on the DIS talking about their menus from Coral Reef... anyone have any idea what he was talking about? Anyone have a phone number for Coral Reef, or a place where I can find one? I really want to make this "last meal" of our anniversary trip a special one... help if you can!
We won't have to catch ME this trip, since we are renting a car.. so we won't have to leave 5 hours before our flight so we will suck up as much Disney as we can before we have to leave...

Well, sorry, not TOO exciting.. but I did get the great idea of strolling through the resorts!! Next step is starting the weather watching and starting to pull clothes out that I want to take with me! I also need to get some memory cards for the camera.. I plan on taking lots of pictures! Still need to call Coral Reef and ask about the menus.. and call CG and order a special cake. I'll let you all know how that goes!

This is a great idea, you will love this resort, it is so beautiful! Be sure to check out the Zawadi Marketplace which is to the right of the main entrance. And just past that are the elevators, take them to ground floor and you will be able to see Boma & Jiko. Then exit the double doors and check out the pool, then just past the pool is The Mara which is the food court type eat area. It will help you become familiar with the territory if you come back sometime with your entire family!
Sounds like you planning is pretty much set. When packing for this trip, bring a little bit of everything, spring, summer & fall.:rotfl: Actually we packed pants, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts & light jackets. That worked perfectly for us, hope this helps!

I had a major idea strike me today! Wanna hear it?!:rolleyes1
Okay.. so, since I will have plenty of time on my hands to just BE at Disney, that means I'll have lots of time to take pictures. I don't know how many of you check out the photography board or play any of the games on there, but sometimes we get on an 'alphabet roll' where we post pictures of things that start with different letters.
Hey.. I have a toddler, who can already recognize "CASTLE" "BALL" "MICKEY" "GOOFY", etc... wouldn't she just LOVE and alphabet book filled with pictures from WDW?!?!
I am going to search out memorable icons and characters from the parks/resorts that start with each letter of the alphabet, then load them onto the computer and make a little picture book for Shae!! Of course, Ty will love reading it to her, too!!
What do you think?! I could also offer to email the finished product to any DISers who ask for it so they could print it out, too! I'm SO excited about this little project!
Does anyone know how or where I can find the DISNEY font to download for free? I'd love to use that on my book.
Thanks for reading!! Here is the alphabet and some ideas I came up with.. feel free to add or recommend things for each letter!
A Animal Kingdom
B Belle or Boat
C Castle
D Donald
E Epcot (ball)
F Fireworks
G Goofy
H Hat (The studios)
I Ice cream (Mickey head?)
J
K Kisses (see my avatar.. something like that!)
L
M Mickey and Minnie.. of course! Monorail
N Nemo (Remember.. she dragged me on that ride a million times!)
O
P Pool or Princess or Pluto
Q Queen or quilt from Minnie's house
R Roller Coaster (Get her prepped for EE!!)
S Singers (Voices of Liberty!)
T Tigger or Tree (From AK) or Train
U Umbrella or UNDER (maybe standing under a monorail or SE)
V
W Water
X ?Help!
Y
Z Zebra (Maybe I'll find one at AKL)
I need to put Shae down for a nap.. I left some blank.. any suggestions!? Maybe I'll need to do several picture for each letter! There's just so much!!

Okay, I'm subbing.....like your plans so far.
The pace when you are by yourself is sooooo much different. You don't realize how much time it takes between rides when you have your family with you....
If you have any interest, hit One Man's Dream up at MGM, it has some interesting displays that you can look at. I never have time to do this unless I'm solo.
At AK, if you eat at Flame Tree, try and get a seat by the water, very peaceful.
I also just sit on any bench and just people watch.....

I've subscribed to so many, it's hard to keep track these days. I'm addicted to them, but at least it's a healthy addiction, right....:rolleyes1
Flame Tree has good pulled pork or BBQ beef sandwiches. They are a bit dry by themselves, but put some of their sauces on..and....mmmmmmmmmmmmm......
You hit the nail on the head w/ One Man's Dream. Usually I am rushed through. However, when I went to MGM solo one day, I was able to take my time.....very nice.....
I have the Disney font, but I can't remember where i got it. I googled Disney font and was able to download it that way as I recall....
Just as an FYI American Adventure is down for rehab while you are there. I don't know if they will have the Voices of Liberty performing. I know when I was there in June, AA was down for a week and VoL still performed. You may want to call right before you go to see......

So.. I'm not a die-hard scrapper in any way shape or form.. but I do enjoy scrapping... I decided to JUST scrap Disney trips.. since we only take one family trip a year. Since my kids are young, and it's hard to find time to scrap, I figured, committing to ONE event a year is do-able. So I found some time today to get some pages done. What do you think?

Can you tell me where the animation drawing thing is? It's inbetween the little mermaid and playhouse Disney, you can bypass the show bit too by going through the gift shop, the drawing place is just there on the right on the top level, there is a turnstile and a little waiting area :thumbsup2

ok just read all your plans. those were some big chnages you made in there.
I cannot wait to get back. I will be doing a mini golf game the first day and walking around POR taking pics.
I hope it is warm enough one day to swim.
I would love to go solo, that would be wonderful. I would do a photo tour of all the parks and resorts all by myself.

:welcome: So happy to see you over here on my little TR! I will be keeping my eyes open for you, especially around the food court at POR, which I think will be the best chance of finding you.. can you just wear that cool green personalized shirt at all times? That would help!;)
I'm hoping for warm enough weather to swim, too.. or at least to lounge by the pool without being chilly. But anything's better than January in Indiana.. for sure!
And I'm completely stoked about flying solo. DH said he wouldn't like it.. not me! I'm going to be in Susie Heaven for a day or so!!

The scrapbooking looks great!:thumbsup2 I like to scrapbook but I haven't been doing it very long. My favorite thing to scrapbook are pictures from Disney. The Disney stickers and papers are just too cute! I love the idea of using the map of Epcot. When we went I was saving everything from maps to unused Fast Passes to use in my pages. Are you including your trip reports in your scrapbook also?:goodvibes

So, many thanks to BlueEyedGirl, who, back on post #36, provided me with a phone number to Coral Reef!! I finally made contact with a human over the past few days and have GOOD NEWS!!
The diver/banner/personalized menu is still a GO!!! I spoke with a manger named Reginald, and he was so wonderfully helpful! I arranged for the diver with a banner that will read "WOW! 10 YEARS! Congratulations, Matt and Susie!". Here are the only possible reasons why this MIGHT not happen: (all of these were given as a 'heads up' by Reginald)
1. Divers don't come in until noon... our ressies are at 11:40. It takes them a half hour to suit up. This makes the earliest possible sighting around 12:30. So we wil need to make sure we take that long to eat... don't think that will be a problem.
2. There has to be TWO divers in the tank, for safety reasons or somethin' like that. So if, by chance, one of the divers doesn't show up, or is late, that could delay or cancel the banner presentation.
Hey.. it's a FREE service that will make our lunch even more special.. if it happens.. AWESOME! If it doesn't.. it's not like I've spent any money on it. Sure, I'll be disappointed, but.. whatever!!
NEXT... the personalized menu! Reginald gave me his own email address. I will be sending him pictures, plus whatever else I want stated on the menu. He will then be putting that into a template that will create our official personalized menu. Pretty cool!!
And might I add, that I would LOVE to have an email account @disney.com !! Jealous!
So the Coral Reef thing is all set!! All I have left to do is order our special cake for the California Grill night. I can do this up to 48 hours in advance, so no rush there.
I'm going to be so depressed when school starts again in a few days and I cant' check the DIS 20 times a day!!
Take care everyone!
p.s. not that any of you would ever come in contact with DH.. but this IS all a secret... shhhhhhhhhh:ssst:

Quick funny story! I called the CR and left a message. After not hearing back for two or three days, I decided to call back. As I was on the phone with Reginald, Debbi was calling me on the other line! If I had waited five minutes to call, Debbi would've gotten a hold of me first! We had a good laugh about it! But, I'm so excited about the menu and the possible diver... I sure hope it all works out!

Well, I sure hope I can give you some ideas! If only I had lots of money to spend on this getaway.. I'd do a lot more! (Flowers in the room, a Wishes cruise, some kind of backstage tour, etc.) But I'll be happy with what we have! Not many couples get to spend their tenth anniversary in the best place ever! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you hang out for the TR!

Hey Sooze,
Just making my way over to check out your plans. I'm still working on finding time to start our trip report, but let me just tell you that we had an awesome time! Our friends and family thought we were crazy for going to Disney without the kids, but we just knew it was where we wanted to spend our 10th anniversary too!
Anyway, your plans looks great. Hopefully I'll get some of our details up in the next few weeks before you leave, but I did want to tell you that we might see you in the airport on the 25th! DH started a new job the day after we returned from our trip (another reason for the delay) and the new company has a holiday party every year in an exotic location. Even though he just started in mid-December, the company is taking us both to Puerto Rico that weekend! Yea!!!! Not sure exactly when we leave on Friday morning, but I know it's really early.
Enjoy your next week off. I loved the Santa pic from the museum. We were just there on Thursday and it was crazy busy. Maybe we can plan to meet there sometime -- that would be really cool. A local DISmeet! We go all the time! Love that place!

Okay.. so, since I will have plenty of time on my hands to just BE at Disney, that means I'll have lots of time to take pictures. I don't know how many of you check out the photography board or play any of the games on there, but sometimes we get on an 'alphabet roll' where we post pictures of things that start with different letters.

I need to put Shae down for a nap.. I left some blank.. any suggestions!? Maybe I'll need to do several picture for each letter! There's just so much!!
Wish I could have helped with more! By the way, your scrapbooking looks excellent! Good job! That's something I need to get started on after the New Year and have completed my trip report. Which reminds me, I need to get an update!

O.K. Susie, so sorry I hadn't found this sooner and am SO on board after reading everything.
O.K., so much to say got to think hard. First of all, could Shae be any cuter in that video. ADORABLE! Second of all GO FOR YOUR DREAMS, you SO should attend a casting audition while down there to see if you could perform for them, would you ever consider moving down there if you did make it? You keep saying it is your dream, you have the talent and two days alone in Disney, I say knock on the door and try out, you'd be following your dream and at least you'd know if you COULD make it if you tried? Just a thought.
How cool is it that you and your DH get these trips. Tim and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary in July 08' and we would LOVe to do that but can't afford two trips a year so we choose to do it with the kids while they are young but OH MY GOSH you are living my dream, not only getting TWO DAYS in the world by myself, I soooo love being by myself too and couldn't imagine getting that time by myself. I think exploring AK will be so cool, I'd love to do that too and haven't ever had the opportunity sotake lots of pics for us. SO thrilled you are wandering over to the WL, I suggest taking the boat there from MK, I wish you could eat at WCC, such fun, but wouldn't be a meal I'd want to do by myself. Have you ever done the behind the scenes tour? Would be a perfect opportunity to do that by yourself, although riding the rides would be my first choice. I am so jealous of the RR and TOT time you will be getting at Hollywood Studios, TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys will have such fun at Epcot too, I just love Epcot!
Can't wait for more and am SO looking foward to the TR when you return.

You're not too late! I'm just happy you made it.
And now you've planted a seed... darnit! I wouldn't even know where to begin to find out if I could sing for someone down there... My little theatre career is just starting.. I don't feel 'seasoned' enough to audition for Disney..but it would SO be a dream... I'll see what I can do!
I wouldn't move away from Indy.. we are so rooted here with our careers, family, friends, church, etc. but, as you know, Matt and I already have plans to retire to Orlando and work at WDW. I think I'd make a great Fairy Godmother when I'm old!
I wish you could come with me! I know I'll have to pinch myself a few times and make sure I take in every moment. I realize how lucky I am that we squeeze in two trips. Wish everyone could do the same!
I will definitely take the boat to WL and take lots of pictures for you! I'm sure I'll feel your spirit while I'm there... I might even see a glimpse of your family up near the flag (since I see that in your siggie all the time!!)
Welcome to my TR! Talk soon!
I really enjoyed your last TR, what an awesome job you did on your scrapbook. You are truly talented, the pictures of your children are so cute. What fun little descriptions too.:goodvibes
Just a few suggestions for your Alphabet book, wow great idea btw. L Little Mermaid, J Captain Jack.pirate: I think this would be a best seller at WDW/DL, maybe when you go to casting to apply you could pitch this idea too.
Go to the Animation building at MGM for sure, drawing the characters is now one of my favorite things to do. It would be very difficult to do this with your kids. In November we drew Winnie the Pooh, I wanted to do it more than once but you know how Disney time flies..........
Some of my suggestions for your solo touring:princess:
The resort visits are fun, if you do get to AKL head over to the food court area, you can purchase Zebra Domes, they are sweet, but very good. The gift shop is one of the more unique shops at WDW, and the lobby is amazing. Say hi to my sister, she will be there celebrating her 25th aniversary that weekend. (her DH won a trip, he has not been to WDW since the late 70's:scared1: , I think he will be overwhelmed by everything)
Make sure you take the boat ride to DTD, much better than the bus. The walk between POR and POFQ is very nice too.
Really explore the shops on Main Street at MK, and AK. It is difficult to ride EE twice in a row, so head over to the Nemo show to let your head clear.
Take lots of pictures of the small things, Disney is the best on theming everything.
Can't wait to read more................

Thanks for the tips. I've never heard of a Zebra Dome. Is it a dessert item? Candy? Snack? How funny about your BIL not being at WDW since the 70s! I just can't imagine.. nor do I want to! I hope they have a super time!

Well, I auditioned for another show here in Indianapolis. It was my first time auditioning outside of my little, local, community theatre. I GOT A PART! The show is called "Thoroughly Modern Millie". It's set in the 20's with FABULOUS FUN music and lots of dancing (including tap). I'm SO stoked!!
The theatre is semi-professional, meaning, the directors, pit, creative team get paid, but the actors and actresses are volunteer. So, basically, I step up from what I've been doing.
The part I got is "FLANNERY".. I'm the office manager. If you really have time to spare, go to YOU TUBE and search for "Modern Millie Forget About the Boy". The clip (the first one) from the Tony awards shows the big tap number from the show. I will be playing the lady with the funked out wig!! SO EXCITED!
Any Indy-livin' folks, or people close enough to drive over for a show, I'll give dates and details later if you're interested in some theatre. The show will open in March!
Just wanted to share with y'all!

That's GREAT NEWS!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :dance3:
I wish I could get into doing Theatre I just don't have the time to dedicate to it right now. I belong to our local film group, though. So I still get to do some acting which I LOVE!
Thank you! What do you do with your local film group? Produce films? Create things? Just curious!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! And good luck with the part!
Thank you! I'm a bit nervous about it, since I feel like I'm in the "bigger time" now! (That's not quite the "big time" yet!);)

I found this on a cast member blog. Just thought it was interesting! I get some of these, but some are a mystery.. only to be solved in 30 years, when I'm retired and working at WDW!!
You know youre a Cast Member when:
All your conversations start with One time at Disney . . .
You never point with one finger.
Youve worked with or lived with people from every state and at least 5 other countries.
You know where all of your friends are every Monday night.
You know that my Friday could easily fall on a Tuesday (and it probably does).
Wendys, Taco Bell, Earl of Sandwich
enough said.
You can calmly say Yes, the wait really is 30 minutes 50 times within 10 minutes.
You know what an alpha-unit is.
You know what a protein spill is, and you can smell Voban from 50 feet away.
You speak fluent radio: 101, 102, 103, 56, 10-4, 10-9 . . .
You know where someone can find any Disney character at any time (or at least CHIP knows).
You know what CHIP is.
You never wait for more than 10 minutes for any attraction.
Anything heartwarming that happens is now a Magical Moment.
You can spot a hidden Mickey anywhere.
You regret not having a FastPass every time you have to wait in a line.
You know its a costume, not a uniform.
You can spot a Mickey antennae on any car that is a mile away.
You can recite preshows and even entire attraction spiels without even thinking about it.
You have saved a baby elephant from deadly poachers several times.
You use the following terms in normal conversation: ADO, ER, MK, the tunnels, DAK, PI, Vista, Commons, Chatham forgetting that no one has a clue what youre talking about.
You start friendly conversations with complete strangers.
You know how to perfectly plan your day so that you can see both Illuminations and Wishes.
You avoid skipping class more than 3 days in a row and 9 times in 90 days for fear of being kicked out of class.
Anytime you go anywhere you wonder what the story is behind the particular place.
"The Man" now becomes The Mouse.
You know the colors of all the Monorails.
Any WDW commercial brings a tear to your eyes.
You know that one of the nighttime shows that is impossible to miss is the Stroller Races down Main Street.
You have the overwhelming urge to offer to take peoples pictures.
You know how to smile and politely answer the question Why is it raining? (YES, we seriously get that one.)
You think nothing of walking up to lost people and offering directions.
You can spend a day at WDW without going on any rides and you still have the time of your life.
You have seen the backside of water.
Guests ask you for directions
when you arent in costume.
You can speak Spanish
or at the least the Spanish part of the monorail. Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas.
You know what EPCOT stands for.
Its not unusual to have lunch at a pub in England and have dinner at a sushi bar in Japan while stopping at Norway for a quick dessert.
You can drive a Pargo like a race car.
You love using doors that open Automagically.
You know that Ghiardellis gives away free chocolate
and you have a hat to get that second piece
You know how to answer the question Do you know what time the 3 oclock parade is? (Most common asked question!!!)
You know where all the dirty references are in each and every disney movie!! (Yes, there are many of them!!!)
Not customers, but guests.
You know what it is like to actually live where you work.
When the mouse becomes the rat.
When all customer service sucks outside.

:rotfl: That list was great!
Our film group is a network of people who are interested in all aspects of independant filmmaking. Such as screenwriters, directors, actors, camera crew, editors. We are all interested in learning more from each other as well as getting our work shown. We have also started an annual Film Festival locally. It's really been a hit with our community, and it's a lot of fun.:) Sometimes screenwriters attempt to get their scripts read by someone in LA and sometimes we create the films here.

Do you remember if you saw Sutton Foster as Millie?! If you did, I am COMPLETELY jealous of you! I had never even heard of this musical until last year (a local dinner theatre did it) and now I'm addicted to it!

Talk soon!
Soooooooo funny, the more I read the more and more we are alike. I too have told Tim COUNTLESS times that when we retire and move to Disney I would make a good Godmother :rotfl: Maybe we can share the costume;) . We say we want to move to Orlando all the time too but just like you are so rooted here with our families, careers and church too that it is just a dream we know we will get to after retirement!
Well, can't wait to hear all about your trip, you are going to have so much fun. Do you have a top list of things you want to do when you are alone? I am starting to think about that with tim and I when we are kid free.

J Jasmine
K Kisses (see my avatar.. something like that!)
L Lion King
You have too much time on your hands girlfriend!!! Love, your secret sister

Well, considering we are close to the same age-ish? we might just end up in Orlando around the same time!! I'll even let you have the Godmother costume..I'll be Mrs. Claus at Christmas time, then work at PTC scolding people in the off-season!
I have a few things at the top of my list including RnRC, TOT, EE, Nemo Musical, Festival of the LK, Animation exhibit at MGM, Resort exploring, and window shopping (I will NOT use my credit card on this trip... I WON'T!!)

You are such a lucky duck...getting to spend time at Disney without the kids...we usually do Disney every 4-6 years for 8-10 day vacations (hubby likes more of a laid-back vacation :confused3 ). Therefore, I feel too guilty to go without my 3 little monkeys. I just keep telling myself "self...one day (when the kids are older) you WILL get the courage to go without them"...I guess time will tell...I just hope it is before I get too old to walk :lmao: Your time is so close...have fun and congratulations on your anniversary! I will be anxiously awaiting your next TR...I have read your others and they are GREAT!

Here's the messenger bag I got from Disneyshopping.com. I just love it's size! There are compartments right up front for cell phone, tix, fast passes, lip balm, camera.. plus a roomy section for trip itineraries, alphabetical lists, and other what nots! I also love how it will sit right on my hip and I can access it without taking it off. I hated that about my old bag.. I had to take it off everytime I wanted something, then dig for 10 minutes before getting frustrated and dumping all of the contents!!
Thanks SO much Scott for introducing me to this fabulous find!!

Starting tomorrow, the countdown will be in the teens. I'm going to pull out the suitcase and put it in the guest room, away from young childrens' eyes;) and start putting stuff in it that I won't be needing here for the next 19 days.. like my bathing suit! I'm also going to start my carry on bag. I've decided to bring the 6th Harry Potter book.. I got movie #5 for Christmas, so I want to start reminding myself what happens next... It'll be perfect for airport, poolside reading!
One more thought... DH and I were SUPPOSED to be in FL/on the Wonder these past few days... I believe the Lord works in mysterious ways.. we would've been at WDW during that 47degree day!!:scared1: Thanks for taking care of us, Lord!

I paid $26 for it with shipping. I didn't have any sales, discounts, coupons, free shipping, so I think it was kinda expensive. ( I think Scott got his for $11?) But worth every penny.. I think I will use it at Disney until the straps fall off!:lmao:
They had TONS of colors and every character imaginable.. well, not EVERY.. but lots! You could also choose between script or block letters. The blue I chose is VERY bright in person.. it didn't look that bright online.. but I'll take it!

Hey Sooze,
Have you heard anything from Coral Reef again? I sent all my "stuff" to Debbi through email and haven't heard anything back again. I sent it first during a weekend and got her "away message". Then I didn't hear from her for the first half of that week so I thought maybe she didn't get it and I should send it again so I did. That was on the 1st. So, now another week has passed. :confused3 Not sure what to do next. Just wondering if you turned in your pictures and idea's and if you've received a call back or email back in reference to that yet.

I just FINALLY emailed all of my stuf to Reginald about 5 minutes ago! It took me awhile because I had to scan a few things. I'll let you know if I hear anything... have you tried just emailing her and asking if she received your "stuff"? Not sure if she'll reply, but I would think she'd give you a response. Give it a try and let me know what happens!

it forecasts the orlando weather for 15 days out and has been very accurate when I have used it...hope it helps you...by-the-way, I would love to do a DIS meet in Avon one day!
Sooze, this is the one that I used too and it was very accurate!:woohoo:
How awesome! 15 days out?!!:cool1: That means in just a FEW short days, I can start checking on the weather for our trip!! Thanks SO Much for the link. I already added it to my favs:thumbsup2

Ahh, yes but this is the south. The weather changes by the minute down here. The forcast from this morning for the whole day may not be the same as the forcast at noon. :thumbsup2 That can work against you but it can also work for you sometimes too. ;)

Okay.. I have great idea for a Hoosier DisMeet in March. I'm currently preparing to perform in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" at Indianpolis Civic:
Wouldn't it be wonderful if a bunch of Hoosier (or Cincinnatti.. hint hint, Lesley) DISers came to see one of the Matinee shows.. then we all could go out to eat afterwards?!?
The show is family-friendly, has LOTS of dancing, flashy costumes, fun Roaring 20's music, and comedy.
I know that would cost some money.. but I would LOVE for you to come see me, and (even better), I'd love to meet y'all!!:grouphug:
Let me know what you think.
When I return from Disney (which I'll be visiting VERY SOON, by the way!!:cool1: ), I'll try to get things going if people are interested.

I'd love to see you in one of your productions! Let me run it by the gang and I'll get back to you. Is there only one 2pm matinee on a Saturday - the 22nd? It would be better for us to come down to Indy on a Saturday so we have Sunday to recover before we get back to the grind. It takes us about 3 hours to get down there...
My B-day is in March, so this could just be my present! :goodvibes (well... after paying off the Visa that has all of the Vegas stuff on it... :rolleyes1 I've been bad lately. ;) )
I've got a favor to ask you, too. I'll PM you...

That sounds WONDERFUL...I am IN!!! Funny you mentioned Lesley...I have followed her trip reports for quite some time now (she does great reports...plus, my name is Leslie too!!)...come on Lesley, here is the second "begger"...it sounds like fun and I would love to meet you too! It sounds like we are all sort-of in the same line of work...you are both teachers, I am about to finish up my degree in Early Childhood Education and continue on to get my early elementary teaching degree...currently, I own/operate a in-home daycare. Enough about my drama....the theatrics sounds like a lot of fun girls...let's do it!!

WOW ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT!!!! You're almost there.
I wish I could go see the show, but that would be one heck of a drive to and from!:lmao:
Would love to meet all of you in Indy, yes I know it is 5 hours from here. But I loved the album Thoroughly Modern Millie when I was growing up, I must have listened to it a thousand times. I love musicals. So it sure would be fun to see you perform. However I will be in AZ the 19-30th of March. DH and I are going to watch the Brewers; and see our son, who will be working there with the team. If you change the date let me know, I may be able to make it down.
Your trip is getting so close now, I am sure you are so excited. I am meeting my Dsis today for lunch, so I get to hear about all her ADR's. She will be at AKL when you are at POR, our favorite Moderate. She has the Deluxe dining plan, so 3 TS meals/day. She likes CS alot, plus I think you still have to pay gratuity and tax on all TS meals? So to save $$, I think they will also be enjoying some of our favorite CS places. Do you know if you have to pay tax on CS meals?

Got your PM.. that would be great!
Does it REALLY take you 3 hours to get down here!?!?!:scared1: The performance is on the North side of Indy, right off of I65... so should be somewhat convenient for the drive.
I would LOVE to have your family come down and see the show.. that would be awesome. Hopefully we can find a day and time that works best for as many people possible!

I'd love to have you! And we'll see if we can convince Miss Lesley to come on over. Seriously, if Michelle is considering driving 3 HOURS down from the North, surely Lesley can travel the measely hour and a half from Cincy, no?:confused3 ;)
Oh...Sunday afternoons are best for me but I will try to do what works out best for everyone. I will be coming by myself (hubby volunteered to take the kids on what-ever day we decide!!).

Yes.. I do leave on the 25th. So far the weather looks perfect.. highs in the 80's:woohoo: But as I've noticed (as I've been watching Scott's weather) that it changes drastically from one day to the next. I won't be sure of any weather until the day before.
Right now, I think we are considering Saturday the 22nd matinee.. but if more people need Sundays, we'll switch. I'd love to get Michelle down here, and I think she'll be traveling the farthest.. so I want to accomodate her as much as possible. Of course, March seems FOREVER away.. so we can get into more detail later!!

Man, I wish we could get you here to join us! We don't have a solid date yet, so maybe it's possible.. we'll see!
You'll have to let me know where your sis is dining! We opted out of the dining plan for this round.. DH will be at his convention most of the time and we don't want to waste all of that food.. it truly is TONS of food!
I have NO idea about the taxes.. I'm going to assume you still pay taxes on CS food, just not gratuity, obviously.. I'm kinda clueless about all of that...:confused3

Don't worry about us! We are flexible! If Sunday works better for the majority of people, we can do that too! We just won't be able to stay as long for dinner. Either day will be fine. I still have to run it by everyone. We can vote for a date after you get home from WDW! :goodvibes
It takes us almost 3 hours to get to Indy airport. (We live very close to Valparaiso University) If the civic center is on the north end of Indy off of 65, then it should be a bit shorter trip for us...

My sister and I met for lunch today. She has ADR's at Jiko, Kona, Mama Melrose (fantasmic pkg), CRT, CP. She has been to all of those restaurants except Jiko. She has 30 credits to use, that is crazy! CRT and Jiko are two each, but she still will be eating alot of meals. I think I mentioned that her husband won this trip through work, they choose Disney and had a nice budget to work with. It included everything, airfare/hotel/tickets and meal plan. How cool that they won the trip! My family won a trip for four to Disney back in 92 (from America's Funniest Home Videos... long story!) Since we had four kids and two adults, my parents sent the four kids! (We actually ranged in age from 17-24 at the time) It was so amazing to go to Disney and not have to worry about money! I have a very dear friend who will be keeping our children while we are enjoying this magical getaway...
She keeps my kids for days at a time.. and has been doing so for almost 8 years. She loves them as if they are her own, buys them stuff, takes them places, teaches them life lessons. Not ONCE has she ever asked for money. If I'm ever in a pinch for a sitter, she's there. I love her to pieces and so do my kids.:lovestruc
I'd like to get her something special from Disney.. not another TShirt.. but something special.
Do any of you have ideas of what I could get her?!:confused3
Please add any and all suggestions!! Thanks!

Hi Sooze,
This is my first time posting on your report! I was drawn to the title as my DH and I are also celebrating our 10th this year!:thumbsup2 I am so envious of your adults only getaway!:goodvibes Your kids are ADORABLE!
Congratulations on getting the part in Thoroughly Modern Millie. I was fortunate enough to see it in NYC when Sutton Foster was Millie. Wish I lived closer so I could join in your DIS meet and see you perform:confused3
Just have to say too that I grew up with Drum Corp, winter guard(WGI) and High School marching band. My parents marched for the former Garfield Cadets now called (actually I don't think their the Cadets of Bergen County anymore either?:confused3 ) Anyway, I am loving your report and can't wait to hear all about your trip!:thumbsup2

:welcome: I'm so glad you found me! And just in time, too! Nine more days and I'm OUTTA HERE!:cool1:
How amazing that you got to see Sutton Foster perform that role. She is incredible and I'd give anything to hear her sing live. Lucky you! I'm having so much fun with rehearsals.. extremely challenging (and FAST:scared1: ) choreography. Wish you could see it, too. I'll be sure to post pictures!
Another pagentry arts fan! Hooray! DH worked with "The Cadets" (as they are offically known now!) for several years on their brass staff (around the turn of the century:laughing: ). Then Carolina Crown snagged him as their brass caption head. DCI finals are going to be in INDY for the next TEN years! So if you want to make a trip out here for the championships, maybe we can hang out! ;)
Congrats on your TENTH! Hope you stay and enjoy the TR. I'll be sure to head over to yours, too. It'll probably be after Millie, tho.. when I have more time to DIS!! When are you leaving for your trip?

Actually, even tho I'm down to EIGHT DAYS NOW!!!!:cool1: ... I don't think it has sunk in yet. I plan on doing just about everything on MLK day.. we have the day off so I can run around and get last-minute things. I'm also getting a haircut, which is LONG overdue... I'm going to give myself a pedicure (since the toesies will be seeing sunlight for the first time in a while) I DO have all of my Disney shirts and my bathing suit set aside, but that's it. My life has been SOOOO busy since Millie rehearsals have started! Can't wait to slow down for a few days and relax with the mouse!:smickey:

I have a few other ideas for the gift. A nice watch, frame or mug with Disney coffee/tea. Almost anything from the Art of Disney store, either from Epcot or DTD, don't you just love those shops? 8 more days, you must be just busting with excitement.:cool1:

Just thought I would send you a note to say I was thinking about you last night as we took a trip into Avon...hubby had a craving for McAllisters Deli:thumbsup2 ...crazy, I know, but we do not have anything here in Greencastle...except McDonalds, Wendy's, etc.:confused3 .
I hope packing is going well and MLK day is a "good-day" for you to accomplish your final tasks...I know as a teacher, time is a very valuable thing.

We learned the big tap number Friday night, "Forget About the Boy"... OH MY GOSH!! I'm in so much pain! I'm not a tap dancer, but I can "tap dance"... I'm just not really trained at all. Wouldn't you know it, my character has a TAP SOLO!!:scared1: I was so intimidated!!! But I got through it, knowing I'd be in my basement every night practicing my little taps off!!!
Say a prayer that the Lord makes my untrained, not-in-shape little feet get MOVIN'!!!!
Maybe some Florida sun is all they'll need... let's hope!!:scared:
By the way, if you're bored, you can check out the tap number on YouTube. Just search Modern Millie+Forget About the Boy, and it'll be the first clip... it's good stuff!!!:thumbsup2

Whoah... Small World indeed! Right now I actually get to teach the kids the technology. They come to me for 50 minutes a week (it's a 'special area' class like music, pe, art). It's a wonderful job! But I think they are looking at turning my position into more of a 'coaching' position, where I'd be teaching the teachers how to incorporate technology.
Honestly, as someone fresh out of the classroom (I taught 2nd grade for 10 years), I LOVED sending my kiddos to a lab where someone else focused solely on teaching them computer skills, so that when I DID use them in my classroom, they already knew what they were doing! How do your teachers react to you? Do they fight using technology in their teaching? What kind of technology to you have available to them? Just curious!
It would be neat to bump into you this weekend! I'll keep an eye out for LGMHPCs!! Have a wonderful trip!
That is so cute :cutie:

I used to teach second! I was in the computer lab for 3 years, then at the end of the 3rd year they stole me at put me in first grade, then I progressed to second grade. I love love loved second!
This opportunity came up, and I am sending you a pm with my eboard I needed to create for my first year teaching last year in this district I am in.

I actually stumbled on the green notebook at Kroger.. then came home and found the stickers in my scrapbooking stuff. Took about 3.7 seconds!;)
I have NOT seen Wicked.. but I've been dying to!! It's playing in Chicago, but we just can't seem to get up there to see it. Was it playing in Cincy when you went? Did you take the kiddos too?
Thanks for the compliment.. I'd love to play Glinda in Wicked.. just to be able to sing "Popular"!

I was up for 2 hours last night with Shae.. she had the most horrid sounding croup-y cough. I sat in the bathroom with her for 20 minutes with the hot shower running, and that helped her breathe a lot better. Trying to get through to the docs office so I can try to sneak her in and make sure she's okay before we leave on Friday.

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your little one being sick. I'm praying for you and for her that she gets better quickly and that your DS doesn't get sick either. It's so good that you were able to get her in at the Dr. I'm sure everything is going to be fine now that she had the shot.
I can't believe you leave in 2 days!!! WOW!!:woohoo:
She's on the mend.. still not herself.. but better than two nights ago!
I know.. I'm starting to have panic attacks about packing.. not for me.. but for the kids!
You know the part of Mary Poppins when they are laughing on the ceiling, and then Mary Poppins says "It is time to go home" and they all say "that is very sad" and they all float back down to the ground... :sad2:
But think....You get to go to Disney in between now and then!!! :worship:
What a great Disney reference to the feelings we have when it's time to go home after vacation! I will think of that when I'm dropping the rental car off on the way home!:rotfl:
:wizard: ...sending some pixie dust your way...hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Friday will be here before you know it...have fun, eat much, and most importantly....SOAK UP SOME OF THAT FLORIDA SUNSHINE AND HEAT FOR ME...it is just too cold here in the Hoosier state!:headache:
I'm going to soak up every ounce of heat, believe me. I haven't felt warm in two weeks.. just chilled to the bone!
LOL about the "in one week I'll be heading back to work" comment. I love the anticipation and planning part of every Disney Vacation. Since I schedule apppointments as part of my job I am always looking at dates 3-4 weeks in the future. I will think, when I see this patient on ____date, my vacation will be over.:sad2: I can't help it, that's why I always need to have something to look forward to next:rotfl:
Enjoy your trip, enjoy the warmth and sunshine.:flower3:
We're crazy, aren't we?! I'll definitely enjoy the trip.. the weather looks too good to be true right now.. hoping for anything warmer than 20 degrees.. I think we'll get it!:cool2:

I FINALLY got my butt on the phone with the cake folks at Disney... ordered a little six inch cake that will say "Happy Tenth Anniversary" on it. I told her to just make it look 'classy'... we'll see what we get!!
Starting to get butterflies......

So for the past few days, I've been saying "A week from now, we'll be at Disney"... or "A week from now, we'll be getting in our bed at POR"...
Guess what I said this morning?
"A week from now, I'll be back home getting ready to go back to work"... isn't that sad?!?!:sad2:
okay.. carry on...
I drive myself crazy with the "end of the trip" sadness coming BEFORE I even leave for the trip. I'm feeling your pain and sadness. You're not the only one.

I think I will be driving Matt crazy with all of my pictures I'll be taking. It started with last year's trip.. and after doing that TR, I realized how many MORE pictures I needed to take!
So you will definitely be seeing a cake picture in the near future!!
I'M LEAVING TOMORROW FOR DISNEY!!!!:woohoo:

Thanks for all of the well wishes, everyone! How nice to know that while I'm vacationing, you all are thinking of me with such kind thoughts!:disrocks:
Last night's flights were a little bit scary.. we missed the really bad stuff in Indy (tornados:scared1: ) But we made it home safely.. just a bit bumpy on the way down.. 30mph winds will do that to you.
I'm home from school again today (my principal probably hates me by now) but Shae cannot shake this cough she has... and combined with the fact that I've been gone for 5 days... she didn't sleep at all last night. So she and I are recouperating.
I'll be back at her nap time to kick of this TR with a very special "TOP 10" list for you.
Good to 'see' y'all again!

Top 10 Ways to Know You're in Disney Without Kids
1. You sleep through the night SOUNDLY.
2. You can set the alarm a mere 45 minutes before you want to leave the room.
3. You can ride on a bus all the way to your destination without singing a single Barney song or playing a game of peek-a-boo.
4. Two words... NO STROLLER!
5. You make it through four table service meals without a spill.
6. You can choose a spot for parades, shows, and fireworks a full HOUR before they begin.
7. Everyone else's kids suddenly look extra cute.
8. You get to have your OWN picture taken with the characters.
9. Shopping is a leisurely activity, not a war against the "I WANT IT" monster.
10. You end up buying A LOT more souveniers to take home to your adorable kids because you feel slightly guilty that you left them at home...
Trip report to come... stay tuned!!:surfweb:
