Your Goofy pictures are great :thumbsup2
Sounds like ToT was lots of fun  :rotfl:
Thank you! We'd like to frame them.. thought that would look cool. Then every time we do another one, we can replace the previous picture with a new one....
ToT was lots of fun. Just LOVE it!!:lovestruc
ToT......you can never have too much of that ride, can you? You had some good mojo that day....
Mojo was excellent that day... and NO, I can never get enough of that ride ! Hoping DS will like it better next time.. it scared the **** out of him last time we tried it!
Hi Sooze,
Enjoyed your update! I'm very jealous that you got to ride TOT 3 times!! I love that ride, but while we were there the line was ridiculous and fastpass times did not work for us. Maybe next time...
Can't wait to see who gets scolded! Patiently waiting for more.;)
As Jordan said.. we had excellent mojo that day! We never waited more than 5 minutes!
Thank you for your patience... Hope to update soon!!

So.... we strolled on into PTC. It looked pretty empty, which is always a rarity! They took our ADR info and asked us to have a seat... BAD IDEA! As soon as we sat on the red, plastic couch, we both almost fell asleep.
Fortunately, our names were called quickly, and we were seated at a TV table... sweet!! Our mom's name was "Sue" and we immediately thought she was excellent. She tossed the basket of silverware and napkins on the table and told us to set it while she got our drinks.
Of course, we purposely did it incorrectly:rolleyes1
She came back (without our drinks....) and scolded us for setting the table wrong. We are so sneaky! But she did give us a great "mom" lesson about setting the table. I'd like to share it with you:
fork has 4 letters
left has 4 letters... thus, fork on left
spoon and knife have 5 letters
right has 5 letters... thus, knife and spoon on right
utensils go in ABC order from left to right... thus, fork, knife, then spoon.
Cool, huh?:cool2:
She took our orders after giving us our utensil lesson. I ordered my favorite.. pot roast. Matt got the fried chicken. She then left us with some homework assignments. Here they are, see how you do:
1. name 4 states with capitals named after Presidents
2. name 4 states with capitals that have 2 'u's in them
3. name 14 Disney animated features with one-word titles
So that kept us busy. We were happily chatting, for what seemed like a mere 10 minutes, when our food was suddenly here! We STILL didn't even have our drinks yet.. boo!! I can not eat without a drink!
Mom returned with a tray full of drinks for the large party next to us.:sad2: She stopped by to ask how the food was and I said, "We're thirsty, Mom!" She had totally forgotten our drinks.
Now.. you would think she'd go get them, right? WRONG!! She proceeded to deliver the drinks to the large party next to us.. and then TAKE THEIR ORDER!!! There were 8 people who didn't speak English. It took FOR-EVER!! I was SO disappointed, too, because I really liked her.
She finally got our drinks after spending almost 10 minutes with the large party next to us. By then, my meal wasn't as fresh as it should've been. Still delicious, mind you.. but not as good as it could've been:

Mom apologized, but never offered to take the drinks off of our bill, or even throw us a free scoop of ice cream or somethin'. We even had our anniversary buttons on, for cryin' out loud.
But.. being the non-confrontational wimps that we are, we bit our tongues and bid a farewell to PTC. We did have a good time, and even remembered to keep our elbows off the table:

That's what made me so sad... she was probably the best CM we've had there, as far as maintaining the theme and atmosphere... but DH and I drink like fish when we go out to eat...

I KNOW!! I can't stand looking at that picture either, because I start craving it every time!!
I'm sure if we would've asked for some compensation, we would've been taken care of, but I choose my battles, and this one wasn't worth it to me! Now, if she was a bad CM who didn't play along with the PTC theme.. I might've ventured out a bit more!

Alrighty... let's get this day done. There is so much to tell about tomorrow!
So, we left PTC and realized how COOOOOOLLLD it gets when the sun goes down. We weren't prepared. We had time to make a stop back at POR for jeans and jackets before heading over to Epcot.
We began our Epcot evening at Spaceship Earth. I had already ridden it, and was excited for DH to see the fun stuff at the end. He was excited to see the 'refurbishment'.... that quickly turned to disappointemnt. The ONE thing he could not stand about SE was the ride-mobile. He thought they were so big, bulky, rickety, and jerky. And after the refurbishment, the were still big, bulky, rickety, and jerky... but with TOUCHSCREENS!!:thumbsup2
When it came time for the photo at the beginning of the ride, I told him to make sure he smiled. I, on the other hand, knew what was to be done with the pictures, so I made a real corny face!
We then spent the rest of the ride trying to figure out what was old and what was new in the ride. I love the garage scene... with the advent of personal computers.. very cool!!
Then it came time for the ending fun... but... :sad2: my picture didn't turn out. BUMMER! Maybe they only accept smiles.. not silliness. Oh well, next time I'll smile nicely for Mr. Mouse!
After SE, we tried to squeeze in some Future World rides, but the wait times were just too long. So we decided to stroll World Showcase. We turned left to go clockwise around this time.. because we ALWAYS go right. We ventured into Mexico and Matt was blown away. I don't think he had ever been in there! He said, "Why didn't we eat in here?!!" next time, dear.. next time! He just loved the atmosphere. I'd have to agree!
We tried the little boat ride. I don't even rememeber what it used to be, but I kinda liked the Donald addition. It seemed to tie the ride together a bit more. I did miss the people trying to sell you stuff at the end!
We continued around WS making ourselves SLOW DOWN! We are both power speed walkers when we go anywhere. It was nice to take our time and take it all in. We stopped by American Adventure to confirm that the Voices of Liberty are indeed performing inside under the infamous, acoustically amazing dome. HOORAY!!!
Finally ready for dessert, I remembered that France had a delicious little pastry shop. So we headed that way. As soon as we walked in, I knew we had made a mistake. WS really didn't seem that crowded... that was because everyone was in this little, teeny, squashy pastry shop. It was UNBELIEVABLY crowded I tell ya!! But, I pressed on, not realizing the misery I was putting Matt through. Besides, have you SEEN some of the desserts in there?!?! YUMMY! It just took about 14.6 YEARS to get it! Seriously, the line moved so slowly!
I ended up with chocolate mousse. It was absolutely deliciously RICH. I couldn't finish it... I recommend sharing it, if you ever want to try it! Matt picked out an apple turnover. It turned out to be flavored cardboard. It was nasty! After what we waited through, he was expecting something fabulous... it wasn't:mad: I can guarantee you, we will not be going back to the French pastry shop as long as Matt's around! I told him to throw his turnover out and get the fried ice cream he was eyeing over at American Ad. That made him much happier!
We strolled back around the Showcase to find a spot for the greatest nighttime show @ Disney! We TOTALLY scored. We found our new favorite spot! It is right in front of Norway. There is a clear view of the lagoon, and a speaker in our ear. Now, remember.. we have no kids with us, so we were able to scope the spot WAY in advance of the show. I sat and caught up on the TR notebook while Matt walked around and found some Diet Coke.
We held each other tight as we watched our Illuminations. The spot was just perfect, the weather was just perfect, the moment was just perfect. Something I can close my eyes and revisit whenever I'm stressed!
As the post-Illuminations music played, we forced ourselves to once again slow down and walk leisurely. We paused every once in a while to take it all in again.:cloud9:
We walked to our car at BCV and drove over to the Contemporary to try to stay awake for EMH at MK. It was open til 2AM!!! I really wanted to stay at least until midnight... but my head was REALLY pounding...:headache:
Here I am in a dark MK:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip148.jpg
Don't I look BEAT?!?!:scared:
We hit the Laugh Floor first. A new show we haven't checked out yet! We walked right in and up to a door.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip146.jpg
We thought we had just lucked out! Then we waited.. and waited.. and waited for a LONG time! Finally, the door opened.. and we walked.. no... we were herded to... ANOTHER set of DOORS! (okay.. I know it's Monsters, Inc.. and there are a lot of doors in that movie.. but COME ON!)
We watched a promo video with Roz and Mike W. that lasted at least 5 full minutes. It just seemed like forever. Of course, it doesn't help when your head feels like it's going to explode!
Finally, we were coralled into the theater. There were large screens where they'd focus cameras on people in the audience and put up funny sayings about them. Guess who the 1st victim was?:confused3 Yup.. MATT!! They showed his face on the screen with a quote that said "JUST SAT ON A FAMILY OF TINY MONSTERS". Of course, it takes a few minutes for us to realize what's going on.. so he had that 'lost and bewildered' look on his face!
Then, at the beginning of the show, they singled him out saying "WANTS TO GET UP AND DANCE"...so... he GOT UP AND DANCED!! I'm not kidding! And I COMPLETELY missed the photo op. I think I was just so stunned that my non-outgoing DH just got up and shook his booty in front of the whole crowd. This, my friends, is what DISNEY is all about! That is a memory I will NEVER lose!! The crowd just loved it, and laughed hysterically. That's my boy!:lovestruc
The show was funny! I tried to text a joke for it, but they didn't use it. Bummer.

Next stop.. the annual BLY challenge. I was ready. I even let DH have control of the stick... BIG MISTAKE!!! He'd angle the car so he hit all the targets and I couldn't hit anything. He CLAIMS he didn't know he was doing that. He also found a BIG bonus target in the 1st room and already had 100,000 points from the start. I was doomed... oh... and my head hurt... yeah... it was my head!!:rolleyes1
Here is a quote from Matt about his victory... he literally took the pen out of my hand and wrote this in my TR notebook... enjoy:
"My wife whines like a mule- I asked if she wanted control of the car- she gave it to me. Rules were not broken! I played great defens without cheating.. unlike Bill Belachek from NE. I did whatever it took to win, because I have lost to her more times than not. I will have bragging rights for at least 6 months-and it is almost a 100,000 point bragging right! DOMINATION BABY!!! -Matt
Help me people! I need ammo for next time! I need detailed descriptions of ALL bonus targets..ASAP! This means WAR!!
After the BLY fiasco, I really wanted to do Space Mountain, but my head was just pounding. So we gave in a and went home. We stopped for a moment on the bridge between Tomorrowland and the Hub for an anniversary cuddle moment... another one to savor!
I took these some night.. .can't remember if it was MK or DTD... so let's just pretend these were on Main Street in MK and I took them on my way out, ok?

Can't wait for more!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope all is well with you guys. We hit the Indy Childrens museum today, such fun. We're headed to Nashville Indy tomorrow to stay in a family cabin in Brown County State Park tomorrow, should be fun. Thought of you guys as we drove into Indy.

So, we left PTC and realized how COOOOOOLLLD it gets when the sun goes down. We weren't prepared. We had time to make a stop back at POR for jeans and jackets before heading over to Epcot.
Y'know, despite living in FL, I tend to forget about this, too. I live on the Gulf, which moderates our temp a lot. Not Orlando - it can easily be 80 during the day and 40 at night.
I love the garage scene... with the advent of personal computers.. very cool!!
Me too - doesn't it bring you back? I fondly remember the Apple 2Cs at my school :goodvibes
I ended up with chocolate mousse. It was absolutely deliciously RICH.
Mmmmmm :cloud9: Isn't it deceptive - doesn't look like much, but oh boy, it's good!
I played great defens without cheating.. unlike Bill Belachek from NE.
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :lmao:
Help me people! I need ammo for next time! I need detailed descriptions of ALL bonus targets..ASAP! This means WAR!!
Aim for the volcano. Trust V. ;)

Can you believe this? At 7:15 am, Mickey calls us AGAIN to ask for help with Stitch!! That little booger got loose in the MK for the 2nd time during our trip. Whoever is in charge of that alien had better do some job searching, seriously...
So we are up and out the door by 8:00am. We stopped by the store at POR for some Advil. As soon as I downed 4 of those babies, I was feeling AGES better! We hopped on a bus to the TTC and grabbed a monorail to the Poly.
Standard Poly lobby shot:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip158.jpg
We were seated in Kona by 8:50! It wasn't crowded AT ALL!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip157.jpg
The morning was starting out fantastically!! And it only got better. Since we weren't next door at O'Hana's, we weren't sure if we were going to be able to get the famous juice from there. Wouldn't hurt to ask, would it? NOT AT ALL! Because they had it! And in case you're wondering... it's called LILIKOI JUICE!!
Here is Matt... just beside himself with joy for the lilikoi!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip159.jpg
I had my 1st coffee of the trip this morning... pure bliss!!
What to order.. what to order... DUH!!! No brainer here.. I asked for the famous Tonga Toast I've heard so much about. Matt ordered steak and eggs. I swear, I thought the man was going to turn into a cow. He had SO much steak on this trip! My deepest apologies to any vegetarians on board...
So, here are a few shots of the TToast.. holy cow... it was AMAZING!!
At first arrival:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip161.jpg
A view of the inside.. those are bananas in there, folks:

And Matt's boring, but delicious fare:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip160.jpg
The meal was great, our server was fabulous, the atmosphere was top-notch... and to top it off, they surprised us with an anniversary dessert:

(Lesley, how do you like Matt's shirt?)
Don't ask me how I ate even more sweetness after devouring that Tonga Toast, but I made it happen!!
We will DEFINITELY visit Kona again. Just loved it!
Next stop was AK. We had to wait 10 full minutes to get on the bus... why? They had to load 2 scooters. TWO! Now, I hope I don't offend anyone here... :tiptoe: I completely feel for families that have loved ones on scooters or wheelchairs. If I ever get to take my mom back to WDW, she will be on one for sure. BUT... Matt and I were talking about if WE were travelling with a scooter... we'd drive to the parks. I don't know.. it just takes up SO much time to get those things on and off the buses. I would feel TERRIBLE making everyone wait for me or my loved one. But that's me, I guess. Flame away!
We got to AK in time for the FotLK show. We were disappointed that the lead "big guy" wasn't there that day, but his back up turned out to be pretty darned good. The lead lady was amazing as always, and so was the show. By far, the monkey scene is my favorite.. second place.. the vocal talent of those 4 lead singers... My mouth was open for most of the show!!
Next stop, single rider line for EE. I rode twice in a row (Matt could only handle it once... wimp!) The 2nd time around, I was with an older gentleman from PA. Turns out he'd never ridden before. Um... cute old man.. do you know this is a roller coaster? No.. he didn't... he got on the ride and had no idea what it was!! Turns out he loved it. Thank goodness! I was hoping I wasn't witness to a heart attack or something!!
EE shots for you:

We were craving NEMO... just craving it!! We wanted to be there at 1 to try to get front-ish row seats, but still had over an hour to kill. We sat and soaked in the sun and atmosphere, then headed to the shops to BROWSE... yes, BROWSE only. As we were looking around, we heard an awesome groove going on outside and decided to check it out. We stumbled on these guys:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip178-1.jpg
They were just groovin' out there. We watched for a few minutes.. then Matt realized he knew some of the guys out there!
This guy marched with Matt in Phantom Regiment Cadets (drum and bugle corps)
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip179.jpg
This guy named Rich marched with Matt in Star of Indiana (drum and bugle corps).
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip180.jpg
Rich stayed after and come up to Matt to say hi (We're not sure if they other guy recognized Matt or not. They were VERY young when they marched together!) Rich talked with us for almost a half hour. It was neat to hear about his Disney career and how much he loves working there. He's been there 18 years!
Maharajah jungle trek? Why the heck not:

It was finally time for NEMO~:dance3: As soon as we arrived near the theatre, they were already letting people in. We snagged AWESOME seats in the center, front section, on the aisle.
WARNING>>>GRIPE ALERT<<<
I arrived at the Nemo show almost an hour ahead of time to get the seat I wanted. Then the ushers come around 10 minutes before the show is going to start and try to shove us in toward the ramp on the stage (which makes it impossible to see if you're sitting right next to it). Now, I'd be happy to let people past me to sit in there, but I don't want to move! It's not fair that people who waltz in ten minutes before the show get better seats than those of us who have been here for 45 minutes. Know what I'm sayin'?!?! I felt bad because I completely disregarded their requests to scoot in. I figured, if they came over to personally ask me to move, I would politely explain to them that the later arrivals are MORE than welcome to sit in those spots, but I'm staying here, thank you kindly!!
Okay. I'm done. Now.. here's something REALLY funny. I was turned, talking to Matt, when I noticed this young lad sitting in the audience, OBVIOUSLY esctatic to see this show:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip205.jpg
I know.. you might not think it's THAT funny... but it took me a few moments to get my camera out. 2 minutes before I took this, that kid's face was just scrunched up into the foulest, teenager-angst-ridden face you could imagine! I could just hear his mom saying, "we are ALL going to see this musical TOGETHER.. and YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE IT!!" It gave me a good laugh, anyway! Matt and I said a prayer that our kids will ALWAYS be excited about seeing things at Disney, even when they're teenagers! (Michelle's kids give me hope!!)
STILL LOVE NEMO!!! Even though there were LOTS of replacements. Nemo and Mr. Ray were the only lead characters that were the same as Saturday. We heard Mondays are big "off" days for lead performers. Oh well.. STILL LOVE NEMO!!!!
Okay... we've done all we came to AK to do... now let's go home, relax, refresh, and get ready for our big anniversary dinner at California Grill!!
By the way.. I had lots of cute smilies to go with my update, but I just had too many pictures.. so... sorry!!

We definitely splurged on CG... but we did A LOT of saving for this trip, and paid for all of our meals in cash. We were very proud of ourselves that we kept our credit cards intact for this trip! The weather was beautiful. It improved daily throughout our trip. My camera is pretty small, so it is easy to hang on to with one hand! My favorite is the downward view of all of the track!
Love the teenager.

So we headed back to POR to relax and get cleaned up before our big dinner. For the first time this trip, it was actually warm enough to put on our suits and lounge by the pool. There was only one other family in our quiet pool, so I pulled up a chair, faced it directly toward the sun, and enjoyed every drop of radiation my skin could gather! It felt so good. Still too chilly for me to venture into the water, but Matt swam for a bit. I am disappointed that POR quiet pools don't have hot tubs.. maybe I'm spoiled with DVC, or maybe I just was able to take the time to notice they didn't have 'em....:confused3
We took showers, got pretty, and drove directly to the Contemporary. We were just itchin' to get to the California Grill, so we arrived quite early. We took some time to check out the new store on the concourse...
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip182.jpg
... and, of COURSE, we spent an enormous amount of time observing the new construction (AKA.. future DVC villas at CR!!)

We finally gave in and checked in way early for our 6pm ADRS. This actually worked out perfectly, because we were able to watch the sun set as we were waiting for the meal. We chilled in the 'lounge' area and met a CM from Indiana. I think she was trying to convince us to stay and dine in the lounge area, but the restaurant was empty...with LOTS of tables right near the windows.. so we said good bye and made our way to our window-side table!
The 'view' from the 'lounge':

The bar.. very quiet, but soon to be hoppin'!

Ahhhhh... yessssss.....
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip191.jpg
I think our waiter was OVER US when we ordered our drinks.... yesssir.. Diet Cokes all around!! He said, "No wine on your anniversary?" Nope.. sorry... neither one of us even like the taste!! He could see his once-large-tab shrinking before his eyes... poor guy!
Here are some shots Matt attempted to take of the sunset. These pictures do the scene absolutely no justice. It was breathtakingly beautiful.. the sun setting over the GF, with MK just to our right.... :cloud9:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip192.jpg
We ordered 3-cheese flatbread and field greens w/ apples, walnuts, and cranberry viniagrette.... out of this WORLD!!
For the main course, Matt had steak of some sort (DUH!) with potatos and green beans (Sorry, Michelle, I don't write down the technical names!!).
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip196.jpg
I had pork roast with mushrooms and goat cheese polenta... YUMILICIOUS!!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip195.jpg
After a sllllooooowwww... relaxing... quiet... fabulous meal, we were ready for dessert. If you recall, I ordered a cake ahead of time. Our waiter brought it out just at the right time....:sad2: I was kinda disappointed in it, to tell you the truth. It was pretty, and all, but a tad boring IMHO... tell me what you think:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip199.jpg
Oops... we took a bite before we took a picture!! Don't get me wrong, it was a nice cake.. Matt was truly surprised and full of admiration for me, the creator of the suprise! But the cake itself was dried out. Betty Crocker and I make a much better tasting cake! But Matt was happy and we had a wonderful time at CG!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip198.jpg
The best part of this meal was that Matt's parents gave us a wad of cash for our anniversary.. we saved it away for the trip... and paid for our meal in CASH. Felt good to leave our poor credit cards alone for once, know what I mean?
We hung out for a while on the observation deck. The "Dream Along With Mickey" show was on and you could hear it all the way up on top of the CR! It was still a LONG while before Wishes, and was getting quite cold up there.... so we said goodbye to our favorite WDW fancy restaurant and headed down to the car for a change of clothes. Sure felt good to get back into our warm and comfy, park-roaming clothes.
We drove to the BWV to park this evening so we could end our LAST night with Illuminations, again....:rolleyes1 We just can't get enough of it. On our walk over to International Gateway, we talked about our desire to take Matt's parents on vacation with us. They're the kind of people who would get up at the crack of dawn and sit on the Boardwalk with their coffee. They would just eat that atmosphere right on up! We MUST add more DVC points so we can bring them here and stay in a 2BR villa...
As we cruised the BW and comtemplated future things, we ran into this fun guy:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip201.jpg
Once in Epcot, I sent Matt immediately to Mouse Gear to buy me a Mickey scarf. I have car-rider duty every day after school. I knew I was going home to a January Indiana... a warm piece of Mickey sounded like just the right souvenier. I wanted to jump on Test Track (which Matt wasn't interested in). All I have to say is, God bless the single rider line. Whoever thought of that is my hero!
I met another DVC couple in the car. We talked throught the ENTIRE ride, up to the barrier test. You can tell when 2 people have been to Disney a lot and can talk nonchallantly through a whole ride!
We staked out an Illuminations spot in front of another speaker. Different place than last night... so, we'll see!
Turned out to be not as good... we will definitely revisit the spot from the previous night... In front of Norway next to the flame and speaker. Loud music, clear view of the lagoon, benches to sit on while you wait... perfect!
We took another leisurely stroll around WS trying to soak up every single second again. We took the long way around and walked back to BW. Did we go home? Not on your life... it's our last night.. and sleep means getting to our leaving day faster!.
We headed to DTD to try to find a wind-pullover for Matt. He had tried to find one at Mouse Gear, but was told Team Mickey might have it.. nope... They didn't! :sad2: But we were still able to extend our evening a bit more before driving back 'home' and crashing for the night. It amazes me how quickly I fall asleep when I'm there.... just exhausted, full, happy, and relaxed. LOVE IT!
Next up, our last day!! Our fabulous dining experience at Coral Reef... YES, I said CORAL REEF!!

Hi Sooze!
:yay: HI!!!!!!
Sooze,
I just figured this out last week... see the Quote button? Click the "+ next to it for each post you want to reply to, then click Reply to Post on the left and it will allow you to do it. :thumbsup2
I got that one... and can reply to people that way. But they take the original update, and stick in their own stuff into ONE post... does that make sense? Check out DisneyJo's response to me above... she took my update and took pieces out of it and responded to it... not sure if there's a faster way to do it than the way I know...
But thanks for the tip!!:teacher:

we've never been to California Grill. It looks amazing! The sunset, oh wow! Thanks for sharing. I hate when you order a cake and it's dry. I usually manage to "choke it down" ice cream helps:rotfl2:

CA Grill and sunsets are a must aren't they? So glad you got to experience that, especially when celebrating such a special occasion.
Sorry about the cake. It's the thought.....you know the rest.
Food...:thumbsup2 Looks good.
I've heard of talking on attractions, but never on Test Track. Now THAT takes concentration....
Check Chapter 44 or 45 of my TR for some great pix that my cousin got of Illuminations. I think you'll enjoy them.

Can either of you tell me your 'technique' from multi-quoting when you reply to someone?! I can do it, but it takes forever with lots of copy/pasting. I'm sure you have a shortcut?
Well, it's not all that "short" but here's what I do...
I'll leave the original "[QUOTE=whoever]" and delete any original text I don't want to quote. Stick a [ /QUOTE] at the end of it (only take the space between the [ and / out) and add my reply. For the next part of original text I want to quote, I type [ QUOTE] in front of it (again, but without that space before the Q) and add the [ /QUOTE] at the end. Keep repeating for all quotes applicable to the same person and delete any text you don't want to quote. :thumbsup2
And yet, I have no quotes for this reply! :rotfl: Just want to say I'm so glad you guys got to experience the CG sunset. :cloud9: I love this - one of my favorite things at WDW. What a perfect, lovely last :sad1: night!

We wake up bright and early. It is ELECTION day in FLORIDA! I somehow feel connected to politics since election day in Indiana usually doesn't mean SQUAT!!
The wake up call came at 6:45, sure wish they had a variety of wake up calls, not the same one every day. Wouldn't it be nice to have Cinderella politely asking you to wake up from your dream... that's a wish your heart makes. Or maybe Lightning McQueen can tell you he's gonna race you to the bus stop today! How about Buzz and Woody arguing over who gets to wake you today... just some thoughts!
We packed up our stuff and were ready to go by 7:30. Amazing how fast you can get ready and packed when it's just the two of you. We headed to the lobby to check our baggage and check in for our flight. We didn't realize Air Tran was one of their pre-check-in airlines, but Matt asked and it was. That is ONE HECK of a SWEET convenience, let me tell you!! We were so free to meander over to the airport whenever we were ready, and not have to check in, or get our luggage screened. A+ for that service!!
We drove over to BCV again and were in Epcot by 8:15. Had a lovely walk through empty UK and Canada.. one of our favorite times of day.. early morning in WS.
Soarin' was our mission this morning.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip208.jpg
We snagged FP then waited for about 15 minutes in standby. Finally got up the nerve to ask for top and center seats. Holy cow.. it was so easy. They didn't even roll their eyes at us. We just had to wait through an extra 'flight'... which is TOTALLY worth it, let me tell you. I will NEVER, EVER ride on the bottom row again.. EVER! ALWAYS ASK FOR TOP CENTER WHEN YOU RIDE SOARIN'.... ALWAYS, PEOPLE!!
The ride was superb as usual. Just love the feeling as the 'gliders' pul back down at the end of the ride. I always try to turn around as I'm exiting the ride to look at the MASSIVE mechanism that was just holding me in the air. It's quite a sight, I recommend checking it out.
Our tummies were rumblin' so we grabbed a little snack at the Land food court. I snagged a banana and a hot chocolate (Diet Coke for DH, of course). We rested and enjoyed the atmosphere while waiting for our FP.

On our next Soarin' adventure, one of the CM's obviously acted on a dare and recited the pre-boarding show spiel as fast as possible. It was hilarious! He had the whole thing memorized and just rattled it off at lightning speed. Good fun!
After we had our fill of California, we headed to Mission:Space for another training for a Mars flight. Seriously, I have been trained many times now. You'd think Gary Sinise would recognize me, and let me go straight to the REAL Mars mission, eh?
We basically walked right on to the orange side. I smiled extra big at the "slingshot around the moon" part.. which is my favorite sensation, followed closely by the liftoff. G FORCES ROCK!!! I was worried about Matt, though. He gets a little woogitty on the orange side.. but he did alright!
I wanted to ride TT... Matt, not feeling it. So I, once again, used the blessed single rider line and enjoyed that 65mph rush that I love so much. Just wish we didn't have to go through all of that other stuff to get there... I'm impatient!
It was nearing our ADR time at CR, but I could NOT get there early. The divers didn't get into the tank until 12:30, and our ADR's were for 11:40... so I had to delay a bit. "Hey honey.. the sun feels so warm today.. let's just hang out by the Fountain of Nations and soak it in.. how's that sound?"

Okay.. it was gross, and I really would not buy it for myself.. but it wasn't as horrific as everyone says..
Now, Matt on the other hand

he didn't like it so much...

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip221.jpg
I thought the restaurant was gorgeous. Tucked away behind Nemo and Friends, I had NEVER seen it! The atmosphere is stunning and intriguing. I was totally excited to get this meal on the road!
Debi, the manager that worked with me a bit on the 'surprises' personally escorted Matt and me to our table. She put us right next to the tank, then handed us our fish guide, then (I was so excited).. the menu!!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip225.jpg
:confused3 HUH?!?!!? Where are the pictures I sent? Where was the little verse I wrote for my husband of 10 years?! I was so disappointed in the menu... I just smiled, though.. I didn't want Matt to think anything had gone wrong. He thought it was pretty darn sweet that it "Happy Anniversary" on it... so why ruin that?!
Our WONDERFUL waiter showed up with this:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip226.jpg
Yes, carbs! He also offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. We declined... again.. weird looks. But he said he'd surprise us later.
We gorged on the bread and butter.. it was delish.. and enjoyed the beautiful sea life.
Mr. Ray coming to say hi:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip236.jpg
Our waiter took a lot of time in between visits, and I knew exactly what he was doing. MILKING the meal for as long as possible to make sure the divers got in. I ordered BBQ salmon.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip230.jpg
Can you even guess what Matt ordered. Come on.. you can do it! Yep... STEAK!!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip229.jpg
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Right on cue, at 12:30, Matt says, "Oh cool! There's the divers!" They plopped down into the tank and headed STRAIGHT towards us. Matt notices this, along with the paper in one of the divers hands. He looks at me, incredulously, and says, "This is for us, isn't it?" It was priceless.. he was so cute and excited!
The diver came right up to the window with the sign:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip235.jpg
Everyone around us was so excited for us. They gave words of congratulations and a few asked how we got that done! I didn't want to give the secret away... only for DISers, right?
Then the diver took handfuls of shells from the bottom of the tank and threw them into the air. They fell around the sign like perfect confetti. It was the COOLEST moment. Matt was grinning from ear to ear!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip231.jpg
Sorry the pics aren't very good... I was trembling...
Thirty seconds after the divers left, our amazing waiter came to our table with a GORGEOUS dessert plate, compliments of the restaurant.

This dessert plate was California Grill calibur. And, I forgot to mention, the food was stellar as well. It was the PERFECT way to end our 10th Anniversary celebration. I would recommend it to anyone!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip223.jpg
I know... I've been wearing that dang hoodie the entire trip!!
I did stop and talk to Debi quickly about the menu. I told her I had emailed pictures and a poem to put in it. She said Reginald (the other manager that I emailed the stuff to) probably didn't get the email, or couldn't open it. Okay.. why didn't he contact me, then?! Oh YEAH.. he has a restaurant to run. I should've been the one to confirm that the pics were received. NOTE TO Y'ALL: IF YOU USE THE PERSONALIZED MENU AT CORAL REEF.. CALL, CONFIRM, HARASS THE MANAGERS TO MAKE SURE THEY GET YOUR STUFF!!
So what could add to our already perfect day? No, we didn't get to see Illuminations again, silly.. we had to catch a plane before that....
How about Voices of Liberty... how about Voices of Liberty in the front row for 4 straight sets? How about a personal dedication by the Voices of Liberty?
You wanna hear about it.. don't you.......

That picture of your DH at club cool is priceless!!!! :rotfl2: That is the picture that I didn't catch of my dh. TOO FUNNY!!!
We didn't get offered the champagne or desert at Coral Reef.:confused3 But I"m not really complaining since our pic's were on the menu and we were seated right next to the tank. So sorry yours didn't go the way you planned. I remember Debi not getting back with me after I sent her the pictures and everythng. I waited about a week before I contacted her. I wasn't sure if I should because I thought she was probably very busy. But now I am glad that I did!!
So glad to read how surprised your dh was, though. So sweet!!!!

What a great installment, how cool to have the menu(even though it was missing some important stuff!), and the sign from the diver! I will have to remember that when we go back, my DH would be amazed! And we've always enjoyed the Coral Reef too, I love this restaurant and have never had a bad meal there.
Looking forward to more!

That's strange that you weren't offered a drink.. maybe they knew they had messed up the menu and were trying to compensate... or maybe they just liked my hoodie!!?:lmao: It still was a wonderful experience, for sure!

Of course I had to end with suspense.. hopefully you won't be waiting too long!

Hoping to have the last installment up by tomorrow night!!! Can't leave you all hanging as long as I did for this update! Plus, I'm dying to start a pre-trippie for our little surprise trip in July!
I totally agree, must sit in the front row for Soarin', it truly is the best experience. I have never been on MS, I am so afraid that it will make me feel sick, even the green side. Crazy, I love RNRC and Everest, but can't get myself to try MS:confused3
Loved the pictures of CR, I can never get over how exciting it must be to see the diver in the tank, congratulating everyone who posts. How great that you were able to surprise your DH.

We wake up bright and early. It is ELECTION day in FLORIDA! I somehow feel connected to politics since election day in Indiana usually doesn't mean SQUAT!!
Yeah but you may have noticed... the results of our election didn't mean SQUAT either! :lmao:
I always try to turn around as I'm exiting the ride to look at the MASSIVE mechanism that was just holding me in the air. It's quite a sight, I recommend checking it out.
My DS looooves checking that thing out. I think a true YOAMD dream for him would be to hang out, watching it work for a ride cycle. He wouldn't need a certificate of completion, TFI. ;)
:confused3 HUH?!?!!? Where are the pictures I sent? Where was the little verse I wrote for my husband of 10 years?! I was so disappointed in the menu...

What a wonderful update! Love all the pictures. Your update has really made me excited about our dinner at Coral Reef. That's a bummer the menu didn't have your pictures or your verse. I'm glad Matt still liked the surprise though! And it was sweet of them to do the complimentary dessert and offer the champagne. So glad you shared your romantic dinner with us!
After you warned me about confirming our personalized menu a while back, Debbi called me to follow-up and I asked her if she received my pictures and text. She said let me check and told me a lady she worked with had already designed it. She said it looked great and told me the pictures I sent were really touching, and even commented on her favorite one. So hopefully all will go as planned and it will be given to my mom for her birthday!! Should be a magical moment. princess:

As we were paying for our wonderful Coral Reef experience, Matt realizes that the first Voice of Liberty set is starting in 15 minutes. Can we make it to the American Pavillion in time?
Well, darnit... we sure as heck are gonna try!! You've never seen two people speed walking through WS like we did. It was priceless. Completely silent, we would weave in and out, go around, bypass, split up, rejoin... always finding the fastest way around something. I felt like a stealth fighter! But.. WE MADE IT!!

The rotunda was waiting for the choral masterpiece it was about to acoustically enhance!
And here they came:

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip244.jpg

We knew we were going to spend our last hours here, enjoying sets of our favorite performance ensemble in all of Disney World. We ended up staying through 4 sets. Every time, we sat right in the front on the edge of the 'red' circle. By the second set, they were smiling at us and gesturing towards us while they were singing. By the third set, they knew us by name.. and I think by the fourth set, they had security waiting back stage~:rotfl:
In between sets we would mingle with the singers, get to know a little bit about them. Fun story:
Matt arranges music and once arranged "Golden Dream" for a brass ensemble. He had been in contact with Derek Johnson (sp?), who originally arranged it for VoL, to get copyright clearance and a copy of his score. Well, we spent some time talking with one of the female performers and it turns out.. she's Derek's wife!! She's the one in the purple dress behind the man's right shoulder above. That was a nice discussion.
Another time, we talked with this gal:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip247.jpg
(Sorry, my camera is cheapity cheap!)
She's the one who addresses the audience in between songs.. she's a FABULOUS speaker, by the way. Any way.. we told her we were here for our 10th anniversary. We told her that VoL is our favoritest thing ever. We told her we would give ANYTHING to hear "Golden Dream" today... anything!! ((Begging, pleading, etc.) Well.. she said they would love to do it, but didn't have the proper personnel to voice it correctly. :headache: DANG!
But, on the next set, they surprised us by personally welcoming us by name, making fun of the fact that we had been there all afternoon, then dedicated, "Back Home Again in Indiana" for us. It was awesome! Then, during the song, the lead lady started looking at Matt real funny... then started gesturing to him that he should put his arm around me...so, being the funny guy Matt is, he hesitantly put his arm around me, then drew me close.. the crowd cheered for him! Fun times!
In between sets, we would also venture outside to let that sun penetrate our winter-weary skin. At one point, we noticed characters coming out. PERFECT! We ran to them first.. no lines!!
Here's Matt attacking Goofy:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t161/sooze73/Disney%20Jan%2008/Disney08AnniversaryTrip239.jpg

Another good thing about traveling without kids, you have a reason to want to get home. Although we were sad to leave the World, we were missing the kids something awful, and were excited to see them.
When we returned the car to Enterprise, there was NOBODY there!!:confused3 Remember that HORRIBLE line when we arrived?!?! The difference between Tuesday and Friday, I guess!
We made it to MCO with plenty of time to spare. Thank you, Disney for airline check in at the resort. What a MAJOR time saver. Our flight to ATL was uneventful, but when we got there we spent a lot of time watching the weather radar. There was some SERIOUS storm stuff going through Indy. Left some terrible straight-line wind damage in our own little town of Avon! Luckily, it did not affect our flight, and we landed home AFTER the crazy weather. Also Luckily, the kids were at our home with the sitter and hanging out in the safe basement while it was all going on. I guess they had a good time down there!
Hard to believe, but I'm DONE!!! Thanks to everyone for hanging with me for 3 and a half months... whew! I'll be starting a pre-trippie for our next trip soon, so stay tuned!! That one'll be a quickie.. but we're surprising Tyson for his 8th birthday,so it should be fun.
FINISHED!!!!!

I do want to get together sometime soon so the girls can play. I keep showing Aubree the pics of Shae with Mickey, and boy - does she get excited!
Looking forward to reading your PTR for Tyson's surprise trip. What fun!!!
Hope you're having a good weekend. It's been a relaxing one for us - love this weather!

Every time, we sat right in the front on the edge of the 'red' circle. By the second set, they were smiling at us and gesturing towards us while they were singing. By the third set, they knew us by name.. and I think by the fourth set, they had security waiting back stage~:rotfl:
:rotfl2: Love it!
Here's Matt attacking Goofy:
Seriously, he ran to him so fast and hard.. I was nervous Matt would knock Goofy over!
'Cause nothing says "Happy Anniversary" like a lawsuit from Goofy! :rotfl:
Hard to believe, but I'm DONE!!!
NO! :sad1: This was so much fun - I'm glad you guys had a fantastic anniversary trip and super glad you chose to share with us.
I'll be watching for the next one! :yay:

Glad you were able to catch the ending! I think we were freaking the VoL CMs out a bit with our persistence!! It was heaven, though... especially when they addressed us personally!

Loved your report! You know I've never seen the Voices of Liberty (do I have name right?) but if you sat through it 4 times it must be something good! I'm putting it on my list to check out. You know, now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever seen the American what is it called, the show in the American pavilion. Making mental note to see that too.
A suprise trip for your DS sounds fun! We suprised our kids once, it is a priceless experience!
Hope to see your PTR soon!

We just can't get enough of VoL.. but that's really hard to do with young kids. They have to be old enough to appreciate fine choral music! Tyson's getting there.. but Shae still has a few years. Hope you get to see them soon.. they are amazingly wonderful!

Yes... Voices of Liberty is correct.. and they are phenomenal! A DEFINITE must see... even if you don't like choral music, you can't help but get goosebumps and tears when you hear them sing! As for the American experience movie... it's very long and very educational. I enjoyed it, but probably won't see it again until Tyson is in Middle School and can understand the historical stuff!
