The other night we did our usual shopping and this WONDERFUL LADY was going around with little white candys that she made ......they were peppermint patties that she made..
here is the recipe.

1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp of water
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp peppermint extract.
3 1/2 to3 3/4 cups confectioner sugar...

combine butter and water and place in microwave on low until butter has melted. Add salt and peppermint extract..
gradually add sugar, blending until desired consistency is reached..should be stiff and doughy. Knead until smooth. Mold into individual candies or form into small rolls to slice..candy should be at room temperature before slicing....
These were DELICIOUS.

Thanks for posting that, it sounds great. I am wondering what would happen if I dipped them in chocolate after they were cut?

I make cream cheese mints.

2 lb bag of powdered sugar
1 8 oz cream cheese - softened
flavoring - I use oils not the extract and you can use different flavors

Mix powdered sugar & cream cheese until smooth - I use my hands to mix.
Add flavoring and color. If you use the oils, several drops then add more until it tastes the way you like it. The colors - I use the cake colors rather than liquid food coloring.

You can mold these or do slices.

These are delicious!
