DH & I ate at the New Tusker House Restaurant today and we were very impressed! :thumbsup2 It reminded me a lot of Boma and all of the food was fantastic! It's set-up like an open air market. I couldn't believe how many different food options they had available on the buffet and they had a large desert area right in the middle. :goodvibes
The entrance is now on the opposite side and they have removed the original Tusker House sign. There is not really a sign for the restaruant now. :confused3

Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks good. Does anybody know if they're doing ADR's yet?

Looks great! Thanks for sharing.
Seems like I read on some post that right now is walk up only, and ADRs starting to be taken sometime (don't recall the date) in December. (Although maybe I am thinking of Y&Y.)

Do they have any "American" options. Just thinking for one of my less adventorous ds. The food looks great for dh and I.

We're having dinner there on FRIDAY!! :woohoo:
We really enjoyed Tusker House as a counter service, and I hope we enjoy it as a TS as well.

And here I was thinking that it looked very 'North American' and unadventurous! ;) Caesar salad, rice, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, roasted potatoes, toast bread and cheese, corn bread - if I am interpreting the photos correctly.
I am hoping that there is actually some more exotic food there (well, the hummus would draw me in...)
Everyone has different tastes - so far this isn't what I expected from an 'African' restaurant...

Whew! this makes me feel a little better - seems like there are a few veggie items and a few more ethnic items

We ate there for lunch at a late seating, so it wasn't too crowded. :thumbsup2

Yes, they have been taking ADR's for a couple months now. It's just Yak & Yeti you can have ADR's at yet. :)

Yup, that is only Yak & Yeti, not Tusker House. ;)

We are there for lunch and I think it was somewhere around $18 a piece, including drinks.

Oh, plenty and there is a great buffet area for the kids! I actually got my mac 'n cheese from there and there is a station to make PB & J sandwiches. There is also another sandwich station with meats, cheeses, etc. :goodvibes

You have to keep in mind that I am a vegetarian, plus I have been having major teeth work done and could not eat anything I pretty much had to chew. I could not even eat the salad, even though it looked so good!
There are a lot of exotic food options and dishes, but I chose to eat what I enjoy and what I could. My DH eats pretty much only meat and he enjoyed all of his choices.

I am a vegetarian as well, and have issues with chewing quite often. Our tastes appear to differ; nothing wrong with that.
The link that I posted above appears to indicate that there are some more exotic vegetarian items which are more to my taste.

I had two of the vegetarian rice dishes and the tofu dish and loved all of it. There are many different types of breads, hummus, and salads. Of course, I did not get pictures of the entire buffet. There is an entire vegetarian secion. :goodvibes

Two questions...
What are the prices?
Is it open for dinner, since AK often closes early in the evening? What are the hours?
Thanks to anyone who can answer these!

Bavaria -- The Samosas were good Indian restaurant quality and my favorite item. The vegetable cous cous was wonderful. The tabeulah was outstanding. Chicken curry was pretty good. Tofu curry was worth trying. Nice sauces for the meats, which included an excellent salmon. Breads included mango. Lots of good savory salads. Two kinds of baklava on the dessert island.

Thank you for the review. We are trying Tusker House for lunch in June. We love Boma so we will probably like it. Tusker House was our fav CS in the past so hopefully this does it justice:thumbsup2
