Disney Cruise No. 4 starring Robin as Tart Girl (also known as Tart Annihilator) and Mike as Underdog... also staring, the legendary disers called "The Konked Kruisers".
Robin here... with Mike looking over my shoulder. (This is a team effort.) :)

The build up for the cruise started over a year prior when we jumped on the October 20, 2007 dis thread. Two of the couples, Walt & Di and Cass & Rob, cruised with us in Oct of 2005. :woohoo:

We had booked a Cat 12 Gty hoping for an upgrade. We learned from our previous cruises that we don't spend much time in our room (As our fellow disers know) ;) and chose to reserve an inside stateroom. And as look would have it... We got our upgrade. :thumbsup2 We got a porthole... stateroom 2566. :thumbsup2


The time was getting near...and before we knew it, we were doing our
"Doc Dance" :banana: :banana: Now, packing has always been my job, as I am the "Master Packer". :rotfl2:

As you can see... It's organized chaos... But I know where everything is. ;)

The day had finally come...We flew out of Akron and we were in Florida in just over 2 hrs... :woohoo: Picked up our rental car and headed for Port Canaveral. We had a ressie at The Radisson. We would be gettting to the terminal about 10:30 tomorrow. :cloud9:

When we arrived at the Radisson, we decided to drive down to Flounder Rd. to check out the restaurants and see what ships that were in port. We turned in early that night only to wake up at 4:45 AM. All we could think of was The Magic coming in to port... So we got dressed and headed down to the channel.

Sure enough... we got out of the car and there she was, The Magic... coming in to port. She was so quiet, if you would have closed your eyes, you never would have known she was there. It was the greatest feeling.

It was finally here... we dropped our car off at budget and they transported us to the terminal. The gates weren't open yet... there was a line of people waiting to get in. As we looked at the line we started recogizing other Konked Kruisers. (Jen, Pete, Jeff, Scott, Mike...) What a rush. :grouphug:

We entered the terminal, got a No. 2 boarding pass, found a seat and watched for other KKers.

My only regret is that I didn't take any pics. I did have the video camera going most of the time. It was great seeing everyone that we had been talking to for the past 13 months.

We boarded the ship, walked through the atrium and ran into our server from our last cruise, Everlee. We talked and were happy to hear he had been promoted.

There was dis meet at 3:00 at the Mickey Pool. It was like watching a bunch of old friends. I never would have dreamed that we'd have such a great time together.

Cont. Day 1 on the Magic

...picking up from our 3:00 dis meet. We had to cut it a little short and get ready for our early dining.

We had previously arranged for a lot of us to link up our dining rotation. They accomodated us by putting a lot of us disers in the same vicinity of the room. Aside from a few initial problems, it worked out very well. It was great. :goodvibes

Our servers were Laura and Leesa. They were a little rough around the edges at first but settled in quickly. I think Mike threw them off with his quirky eating habits. :rolleyes: Separate plates so his food doesn't touch? Come on. :rotfl2:

After dinner, we went to the show... great, as usual. We then headed to Rockin Bar D with Walt & Di. We listened to the band, Elite... who, by the way were very good. They had a great rapport with they're audience and were a cute couple who had been married only 6 months.

After a little music Trent came out and asked for teams of 4 or 5 to partake in a scavenger hunt. So we volunteered.

For those of you disers who didn't get to see it that first night. Here's a little overview.

Mike & I and Walt & Di and Carrie. Cass was also with us and donated her lime from her drink which we had to put between our teeth and walk up to Trent.

Here's where the fun began. Each team was given a card with a team number on it. Trent would tell us to bring up our number and an item. When that item was impossible... you had to use your imagination. (eg. an elephant... you had to go up and do an elephant imitation) We had to be creative. For each task, we got a point and 2 points if it was creative.

Here's how it went...

One task was... your number and a navigator. We always carry one on with us, so we got a point.

As the game went on, it got a little tougher. Trent asked for a tattoo. Thanks for that Carrie. We got an extra point because she had a Mickey one.

We were kicking butt... Then Trent said... "Team no 1, how many people are on your team?" We said 5. He didn't believe us, so his next task was

"I want your no. and a woman wearing 3 men's belts." He then said. "Team no. 1 you have to have 6 belts because you have more people."

So I stood up and Mike and Walt gave me their belts. As I was putting them on, Carrie grabbed her dh's, Scott, and put it on me. We were out of people with belts so we put Walt & Di's Lanyard's around each of my legs and called them garter belts.
When I went up to show Trent, I only had 5 belts so I told him. "I also was wearing a chastidy belt that I couldn't show him." It worked. :thumbsup2

We got the point. :woohoo:

Trent even asked for false teeth. Everyone looked at each other, thinking we were in trouble. Mike flew out of his seat and pulled out his partial. I wish you could have seen the faces on the other disers. (he had a cyst that caused him to lose some bone and a front tooth)

Cass replied, "You guys are made for this game." :rotfl2:

At one point, Trent asked for a man wearing lipstick. So I pulled some out of my purse, which I rarely carry, and started putting it on Mike. He said,
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I handed him the number and shoved him out there.
:yay: Another point.

At another point, Trent asked for a man wearing a bra... there was a silence in our group and I thought... Oh, Crap... No one is doing it, I'm going to have to do it. (I was wearing a layered look, it would work.)

But... I turned around a there was Carrie, holding her bra in the air.

THANK YOU CARRIE! :rotfl2: (That would have been way too much "personality" loose in Rockin Bar D)

We grabbed Mike, (Once again), put it on him and shoved him out there. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I was afraid the next task was going to be a woman wearing man's pants... so I told Walt, you may have to do it. You have a long shirt on. He looked at me reluctantly and said, "Ok, I'll do it" He'd do it for the team. Sorry Walt, Trent never asked for it. You were probably sweating the rest of the game. :rotfl:

The final task... Trent wanted, a man carrying a purse, wearing lipstick, womans shoes, a woman's earring, and wearing a bra.

Here we go again...Miiiiiiike, (This poor guy will do anything for me.)

I immediately turned to him with my lipstick and smeared it all over his mouth and Carrie took off her bra again. (it was very tastefully done, no skin showing) We continued to add Di's earring and I think it was her purse.

We shoved him out there again. Only this time, Trent made all the guys stand up in front of the audience. The whole time, I could read Mike's lips as he looked at me. "I hate you!" :lmao: :lmao:

Trent decided to throw out the points and make the guys strut to see who wins. He introduced each one of them. He came to Mike and said, that lipstick looks like you just finished shoving a hot dog in your mouth. Mike's shirt was partially unbuttoned showing his heart surgery scar.

Trent said, "I love your unbuttoned look." Mike said, "Chicks dig the scar."
The guys strutted one by one as we hooted and screamed.

Mike looked over and saw fellow disers, Nancy & Chuck and they're family. (Nancy's & Chucks kids and Mike were suppose to have a shoot-out up on deck)

Mike said, "Don't applaud guys or I'll take you down on the basketball court."

Uh, you're threats didn't work Mike. Guess who won?

What a night and it's all on video. :woohoo: Word got out with all the disers and I spent the next day or so showing that video to everyone.

It was a long day... we had been up since 4:45 in the morning watching The Magic come in. It was now 1:15 AM and we finished out the day by going up on deck to watch for falling stars and check out the night sky. Mike shot a few hoops and we hit the sack.

Cont... Sunday Oct 21... Day 2... Key West

We slept in a little. It was a late night last night. Got up at 8:15 for breakfast at Topsiders. Saw our dis friends Cass & Rob with Baby Kira. :cutie: We really used that little cutie to get our baby fix all week. We have a 1 yr old grandaughter.

Took the Conch Train with diser friends Walt & Di. One piece of advice, make sure you bring a bottle of water with you. I don't know what I was thinking... I've been to Fla. enough times to know better. :rolleyes: It was a nice tour though.

Cont... Day 3, Monday, October 22

(I failed to mention that 20 of us disers decided to play a little dis tag. The idea was to fill a little bag with novelties from your state or country. We each had a list of the disers. When we received a dis bag at our door, we would deliver one to the next person on our list. You had to do it without getting caught.)

We were up at 7:30. Mike went up to deck 10 to shoot hoops. Fellow disers, Chuck & Tony came out for a little while. I met Mike for breakfast at Topsiders.. mmmmmmm, oatmeal. I can't believe I had access to all that breakfast food and all I ate was oatmeal and a piece of toast. :idea:

All of us disers met at Sessions at 10:30 and took a group pic. You should have seen all the cameras lined up. It was pretty funny.

Many of the disers then went to the wine tasting. Those of us who don't drink wine had a strawberry smoothie meet. We met in Quiet Cove. Although, it wasn't very quiet when we got there. oops. :guilty: We had a great time though. :rotfl2:

Did a little shopping... bought some jewelry, then decided to hit the pool. Went back to the room to change. What was waiting for us at the door? A dis tag bag. :woohoo: We now had to deliver one of our bags. We went into our room to see who was next on our list. Crap deck 6... again. :lmao: I swear most of you disers were on deck 6. We were in the dungeon on deck 2. It usually took too long to wait for the elevator, so we always used the stairs. I think we climbed those stairs 25 times delivering to deck 6. :lmao: :lmao:

Really, we had a great time doing it. It was always a joke for us because we no sooner got done delivering one to deck 6, we'd get back to our room and there would be another one waiting for us. And then it was back to deck 6 again. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Cont... Disney Cruise, Day 4,Grand Cayman.

Mickey woke us up at 5:30 AM. We're going snorkeling, then swimming with the stingrays. So off topsiders for breakfast.

They tendered us in to Grand Cayman. It poured while we were boarding the tendering boat. But all in all, it was a nice day. We did get a cloud over us a couple of times.

When we booked the excursion, I wasn't really sure about doing the stingrays...

Mike got in the water first. When I got in I totally freaked out. :eek: (I'v never freak out about anything.) As soon as I got in, I had 4 stingrays on me. I was practically climbing on Mike's shoulders. :lmao: :lmao: I knew they wouldn't hurt me, it was just weird when they rubbed up against me.

When I got used to them and I was so amazed. You look at their faces and they each look different. Each one has it's own personality, (not "personality"). :rotfl2: I kissed them for 7 years good luck per kiss. Mike said, "There is no way I'm kissing a stingray" (Kill joy) :)

No, this one wasn't through DCL.
The snorkeling and stingrays were together and we booked them online at Captain Marvins.

Thanks for the update Robin. Didn't it rain in Grand Cayman? We got a bit cold on our thriller boat excursion, but soon warmed up on 7 mile beach. Waiting patiently now for next day.

We got some rain on the way out to the snorkeling spot and while we were snorkeling, then it let up. It was a cold rain when we were on the boat.

Check out that black cloud over our boat. It looks worse than it was.

The rain really wasn't that bad. :)

Mike, one of our diser friend had gone to Palo. Palo had designed an anniversay plate with food for them. They showed "my Mike" the pic of it. So "Not to be out done", my Mike had to design his own. :rolleyes:

Cruise Day 5... Oct. 24, 2007 Cozumel

Cozumel today. That means we get to swim with the dolphins. :woohoo: We went up to breakfast, then up to deck 10 to observe coming in to port.
It was very windy up on deck. Happy "Windsday" as Pooh would say. ;)

We then headed to Diversions for the Dolphin excrusion. This is the one I was waiting for. I have wanted to do this for years.

We got our stickers and were ready to go, then they made an announcement. It's too windy and is not safe, so we are cancelling the Dolphin excursion. :sad2: Boo Hoo

I guess Disney has to think about the safety of their guests. But the people who booked the non-Disney dolphin excursion got to do theirs. I wish we would have thought about it, maybe we could have booked that.

I know one thing, it's a good idea to have a back up excrusion just in case yours is cancelled.

So we headed off the ship for some shopping with Walt & Di.

Part 2 of Day 5 Pirate Night

Went back to the ship for lunch and a movie. (Meet the Robinson)
Strange... We weren't impressed. We walked out after about a half an hour.

Did a little shopping on the ship and ran in to Trent (the emcee at Rockin Bar D) I had to get a picture. :woohoo:

Got dressed for pirate night and went to dinner. Mikes makes a good pirate. He lost his front tooth due to a cyst, (as I explained during the cross-dressing episode), so he kept taking his partial out for the pics. (actually, he didn't want to... I talked him into it)

While on our way back to our cabin, it was hard walking a straight line. The ship was really rockin. It was very difficult to walk a straight line. But we made it back to the cabin after some strange looks. ( I think people thought I was drunk) It didn't help that I kept giggling. :rotfl2:


Changed our clothes and headed for Rockin Bar D. It was Karaoke night. Very uneventful.

Believe it or not, we actually left early. I think it was even before midnight.

Cruise Day 6... October 25, Sea Day

Gloomy and very rough sea day. We went to the Character breakfast. Very disappointed. They changed it. They shouldn't even call it that anymore. The characters don't go around to the tables anymore. The food wasn't any good anyway... we would have preferred topsiders. (which I think we'll do from now on)

Spent the day doing some shopping on the ship and walking around. It was a nice day. Whoa baby... Check out that shirt. :woohoo:

ohhhhhh, I can't do it. :sick: (too much food) We promised our server Laura we would go see her since she had to work the buffet. So we went... I had a couple of bites and I was done. Whoa!

After that we needed to run laps on the ship but we went on to bed about 1 AM.

We got up at 7AM... Castaway Cay day. Parasailing today. :woohoo: (This will be our third try. The other two times we came here, the weather wouldn't cooporate for us to go parasailing.)

Yes, three of the four kids were in the show during Pub Night in Diversions. I have it on video but not a still shot anywhere. Bob/Rose and Janice/Mark were also there so I hope one of them got a picture of the kids. :confused3

robin has been really busy with work and her parents so i thought id take a moment to share a castaway cay memory.:wizard:
on our oct 2005 i (underdog..mike) signed up for the freethrow shooting contest on cc. (im really not too bad) but that day with robin filming me i choked big time when they put the clock on me.:mad:
determined to redeem myself, i went back this cruise and signed up on the condition of NO FILMING!!:scared:
was supposed to be joined by fellow disers but they were busy on the island
(or they feared me. not sure.:rolleyes1 :laughing: )
anyway i did pretty well this time made 9 of 10 with the clock on me and had the lead after 3 rounds.
then they did something they never did before and timed how many times you could dribble a ball between your leg in 1 min.
well sorry, but this old mans days of dribbling(a bball anyway)are over.:eek:
so i ended up finnishing 3rd. but i was happy because i know i won the shooting phase.:cool2:
the castmember asked for my cabin # as they would send something there, but they never did. now that i think of it, she was cute. maybe she just wanted to know where underdog was staying.:cool2: :laughing:

It was time to get back on the ship. I can't describe how great today was. That island is the greatest.
We had a wonderful time. A double dip sure would be nice.

We then went to shutters for a couple of pics and went on to dinner. We had to say good bye to everyone at dinner. We weren't sure if we'd see our diser friends in the morning. :sad1:

Went to the last show and saw Cass & Rob up on the big screen. I knew you guys would make it big. ;)

Went back to pack up our stuff and set our luggage outside our door.

No Rocking Bar D for us tonight. We did stop in Rockin Bar D to say good bye to "Elite". Then out for a little romantic walk on deck.

We were up at 5:45. It's raining!! :eek: Went to topsiders for breakfast. Saw fellow disers, Carrie & Scott, Mark & Janice and Cheryl, Al & Rachel one last time. We were happy we had the chance to say good bye.

We then got in line to get off the ship. This was our last day for fun. We were flying out tomorrow. So we needed to get off ASAP to get to the Magic Kingdom.

Caught the shuttle to budget, picked up our car and we were on our way to the All Star. When we got there, we checked in then hopped on a bus to MK.

I was so punchy, I couldn't think straight. Evidently way too much partying on the ship. :laughing:

We did the new Monsters Inc. We were sitting way in the back. I was sitting there with my head on Mike's shoulder, sleeping, and Mike was dosing.

Next thing we knew, there was a bright light shining on us.

OH, CRAP...WE'RE ON THE SHOW!!! We were like a deer in the headlights. :rotfl2: They asked Mike a question and I tried to back out of the picture, but was still in it.

Of all things... they asked him about food. :rotfl: (as our diser friends know, Mike is a very picky eater and no food is allowed to touch.)

I think they caught him dosing because he was a little dumb-founded, but he finally answered the question.

Now what were the odds that they would pic us. :confused3 I was having a nice nap. :rolleyes:

The day got better. :rolleyes1

We were walking toward Peter Pan from Frontierland and Mike said. I'm going to the restroom. I said, I'm going too.

I had a baseball cap on walking behind him, watching his feet. So we're walking along and I suddenly come across this fowl smell. Right away I said, "eewwww, what's that smell" At that point, I looked up and saw 2 men standing at urinals. :upsidedow :lmao:

I then said. "AAAAWWWWW." My arms were flying in the air... I then turned around to run out. It was like a Tom & Jerry cartoon. My feet were moving, but I wasn't going anywhere. :rotfl2:

When I finally made it in to the womens' restroom, I couldn't quit laughing. People kept looking at me. I was doubled over. I went in to the stall and all you could hear was my echoed laughter. (the looks I was getting...) :rolleyes: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I later told Mike, "How do you guys stand that smell? It was disgusting. :rotfl2:

About 4:00, I'd had enough. We went back to the room and took a little nap. 1 1/2 hrs. later, I was revived. We headed back to Mk for SpectroMagic.

We watched for Walt & Di (very good diser friends)... Hoping we'd run in to them like we did after our 2005 cruise. Didn't happen. :sad2:

Went to our terminal. We cut it a little short. Boarded our plane and had a nice flight.

When we arrived in Akron... we got off the plane. Mike's parents were picking us up. We had an hour drive home, so I ran to the restroom while Mike watched our carry-ons.

When I came out Mike went. He walked in...looked up...and saw...

WOMEN all over the place! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I happened to look over in that direction and I see him walking very quickly out of the women't restroom. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

He then looks at me and says. "Why didn't you tell me I was going in the wrong one?" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, that's our story. It was a lot of fun and we made some lasting friendships with many of the disers.

We all enjoyed ourselves so much, we are planning a reunion cruise for October 24, 2009. Many of us have our reservations made and the thread is going strong. Come and join us. We are a friendly bunch and welcome fellow cruisers with open arms.

Now that the holidays are over i thought id pop in and share a few comments about different aspects of our cruise.:wizard:
FOOD
Robin and i arnt food critics by any means and everything we had was just fine with us. I am strictly a meat and potatoes kind of guy and ordered mostly
the steak or chicken every night and they were great.:thumbsup2
Our servers were great!! We always bond with our servers and it makes dinner more fun.:woohoo:
ENTERTAINMENT
We found the entertainment to be great once again.(aside from the afore mentioned bra dancing in rockn bar d):eek:
Michael Harrison put on a great show. His adult evening show was even funnier.(you missed the dancing penguins):laughing: :laughing:
The band Elite was very good and we got to know them very well as we spent a LOT of time in rockn bar d.
The stage shows are always great however we skipped Twice Charmed this time as we saw it in 2005 and didnt care for it.(would rather have Hercules)

We are all packed running out of food:rotfl::rotfl:. If things go right we will be leaving early afternoon tomorrow for Portland.Stay overnight catch the 6:00AM Jet Blue out of Portland and be in FLA by 10:15 and in the World by 11:30 just in time for lunch THUR.

Cont... Day 3, Monday, October 22

(I failed to mention that 20 of us disers decided to play a little dis tag. The idea was to fill a little bag with novelties from your state or country. We each had a list of the disers. When we received a dis bag at our door, we would deliver one to the next person on our list. You had to do it without getting caught.)

We were up at 7:30. Mike went up to deck 10 to shoot hoops. Fellow disers, Chuck & Tony came out for a little while. I met Mike for breakfast at Topsiders.. mmmmmmm, oatmeal. I can't believe I had access to all that breakfast food and all I ate was oatmeal and a piece of toast. :idea:

All of us disers met at Sessions at 10:30 and took a group pic. You should have seen all the cameras lined up. It was pretty funny.


This pic of our group was one I copied from another diser. Don't remember who's it was, but it turned out better than mine... I think it's Rose's. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Many of the disers then went to the wine tasting. Those of us who don't drink wine had a strawberry smoothie meet. We met in Quiet Cove. Although, it wasn't very quiet when we got there. oops. :guilty: We had a great time though. :rotfl2:

Did a little shopping... bought some jewelry, then decided to hit the pool. Went back to the room to change. What was waiting for us at the door? A dis tag bag. :woohoo: We now had to deliver one of our bags. We went into our room to see who was next on our list. Crap deck 6... again. :lmao: I swear most of you disers were on deck 6. We were in the dungeon on deck 2. It usually took too long to wait for the elevator, so we always used the stairs. I think we climbed those stairs 25 times delivering to deck 6. :lmao: :lmao:

Really, we had a great time doing it. It was always a joke for us because we no sooner got done delivering one to deck 6, we'd get back to our room and there would be another one waiting for us. And then it was back to deck 6 again. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We headed back to the room. Another late night. But we set the clocks back for Grand Cayman. Yes, and extra hour of sleep. We're getting up at 5:30 am. We have an early excursion tomorrow.

I am a lurker who is going on a WC in Jan. I have to say I am really enjoying your trip report. I had to comment on the John Travolta thing. When DH (thinks he is a 20 year old again) dose the electric slide I run (not walk) for the hills. The man needs pads for protection. He literally looks like he is having a seizure.:rotfl: Anyway that comment just got me going. It’s nice to know another woman’s husband does stuff like that as well.:lmao:
