OK I did it! Just ordered the flowers for our anniversary. And are they beautiful! I went through the WDW florist for the delivery to the Poly.
I also got a stuffed mickey with candy bars for DH. :laughing:
And of course balloons!
DH and I were so poor when we got married so I am going all out for this.:hug: Next up the champagne and strawberries to be ordered.

Have a wonderful anniversary and make sure you come back and post lots of pictures.
Edited to add that we got a lovely gift basket from the WDW florist that had fruit, candy, cookies and lots of other things in a big Mickey head basket. They do a great job.

Although I would be really disappointed that my wife spent $450 on flowers, I think that it is a reflection of our current financial situation. I can't imagine spending that much money on flowers, but it is your money. You earned it.
If you want to soak it in gas and set it on fire, it is yours to do so.
Congratulations on your anniversary! Please take photos of the arrangement. I would really like to see what it looks like.

My family was in the flower business. My mom retired from that business a few years back. Noboby appreciates flowers like a woman. You spent $450 on flowers. A practical person will say "they will just die in a few days". They are basically meaningless and "think of what else you could have done with that money".
A romantic will say that your husband will remember the smell and the look of those flowers as he enters the room for the rest of his life. He will remember the look of your face when he encounters that bouquet in the room. He will then turn and look into your smiling eyes and remember the look of you and the smell of you and that moment for the rest of his life. Put a price on that!! Practicality is crap. Romance is life and what makes life (with that special someone) worth living to the fullest. Buy flowers...drink wine...embrace and live in the moment. It is a moment that you will relive in memory a thousand times over. He may not gush over it verbally but in silent thought, in quiet moments of the day he will get a sly smile on his face as his mind wanders to this event. Buy that for less than $450!

As I've gotten older the one thing in life I realize is that money means nothing. To have loving relationships and fabulous friends are worth more then all the materialism I have. $450.00 well spent! :)

Wow! You must have come a long way since your humble beginnings in order to afford an entire city for your anniversary. "Champaign" is actually a city in central Illinois. Perhaps you were referring to the sparkling white wine known as "champagne". Who wants to play "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?". :rotfl2:

Congrats on your anniversary! Though I would KICK my husbands butt if he ever spent $450 on flowers! We spent $50 or so on all our flowers for our wedding a few years back (6 dozen from Sams Club). I would hate if he spent more than $15, actually. :) $450.00 is a few days in Paris!
Please post lots of pictures, and congratulations on 32 years.:love:

Yes, some people do. And it's really nobodys business but their own on how they choose to spend their money. I'm not sure why you would make a comment like that about someone you don't even know--especially seeing as how this is only your second post... :rolleyes1 popcorn::

Where do I go to nominate this thread for the most complete and entertaining and representative thread of what the Disboards are all about?
I laughed out loud, I cried, I remembered my own stay at the Poly, I wanted to congratulate someone, hug someone, offer even more fun advice.
This is Dis at it's best. oh yeah, and
~~~What is typed here on the Disboard, stays here on the Disboard.~~~ Why would DH ever need to know the $$$amount anyway???
Go! Run! Enjoy! Live! Have a wonderful time. Romance,Indulgances , Memories. Say Hi to Mickey while you are at it!
We get criticized for taking a second Disney Trip this year. In April I was an EMT who was involved in the VA Tech massacre. The entire time all I could think about was my own babies at home as I tried to care for someone else's baby. So, if I decide to spend my money on a second trip to spend time with my babies, it is my choice. I can't take it with me and my kids will have memories that is worth more than the money we spend. If you want to spend $450 or $4050 for your memories you go right ahead. I hope you have an awesome time. Take pictures for us to see.
Some people spend $400 or more for a night in a room, which is sort of the same as flowers. Neither will be around long.
Everyone has the right to spend their money as they see fit (my DH knows I'd kick him if he spent more than $15 or so on flowers, though!) :)
Poppinsme-- Congratulations on your 32 years! I hope you have 32 more wonderful years. You are a very thoughtful wife and I'm sure your DH will appreciate the effort you have put into this to make this trip special. I hope you have a great time and please do post the pictures of your stay.
Dawgfan--Hi, fellow Georgian! Your post was so sweet. As I was reading it, I was thinking that is exactly what I would feel too! It is truly all about the memories. When you are 95 and sitting in the rocking chairs, you won't care about the money you spent but you will still think back on the memories you made.
Well, all I asked for for our upcoming 6th Anniversary is a $250 i-pod and you would have thought I asked DH for a kidney. I don't think he has even spent $450 on me the entire time we have been married.
Just back from WDW and the flowers were magnificent!!!!!!!!!
I am doing a dining report also and posted this there as well.
We lost all our pictures. All of them. :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:
All I have left of the flowers are some cuttings I made to dry and put in a scrapbook. The large stuffed Mickey that came with candy and balloons we have. I cried almost all of yesterday and today. To loose over 200 pics is hard. The camera shop I went to tried to help but there was nothing that could be done.
The pics were so good. And all the food and resort pics. And the Xmas lights at MGM, Magic Kingdom etc. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
