3 Weeks from today I will be finishing up packing :woohoo:
I really need my therapy~
We leave late afternoon on saturday and arrive at MCO from Philly around 7pm. I booked a car thru Alamo, so we'll go over and grab that and go right to the resort. Rose (my DBestFriend) and two of her sisters and her (20 something) niece should already be there. Rose's one sister lives in FL and is visiting for a couple days. Her other sister and niece are in from Utah for the whole week.
My crew will just be DH, 22yo DS and me. 19yo DD is staying home to watch the puppies (she went to California-this is her trade off) and my MIL is coming up from SC to stay with DD while we are away.
This is where we are staying...it's called Summer Bay.
It's one of Rose's many timeshares that she's invited my family to use with her, alot.
(Rose is my enabler, the reason I vacation, the best kind of best friend to have.)

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/WDW%20Scanned%20Photos/IM_A0025.jpg
My crew is doing a light week.
(Rose has her own agenda, and her own car, so that's ok. )
I am getting the 7 day passes to universal (only $85 pp.) Disneywise we'll do one day at Epcot (thursday) and one at Magic Kingdom (friday.) Our MK day includes the KTTK tour :woohoo: That's it. We'll probably only use two or three days for Universal. The ticket pays for itself once you use the second day. We won't try to do any park openings and if we decide to hang at the resort and do nothing, we can do that too.
This trip is being designed all around my kid and my husband. Hence the tickets to Universal. Rose and I take three trips to Disney for every one I bring my guys on. Disney is my thing. Being able to spend my last two full days in the land that I love will make the whole trip worthwhile. Universal is my icing, Disney is my cake.
There are 3 DISmeets occurring this week.
Our dates are 12/8 to 12/15. Infamous trip reporter Nebo and his lovely wife Smidgy will also be at the world this week! If you frequent these boards, you may also know Backstage Girl. She missed our DISmeet this past September so she and Nebo and Smidgy and I have a date for Ice Cream the Thursday we are all at Epcot! Backstage Girl works at Disney and had the idea to meet at Beaches and Cream, Nebo and Smidgy were invited to join us and graciously accepted.
I had mentioned that my crew was doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Nebo said, yeah? Us too! The KTTK tour was just about sold out for our week and only Friday was available. They suggested I call right away, so I did. I got the KTTK for Friday and had to be there at 815 in the am. Nebo said really? My guy said 9??? Ruh roh. Wrong tour! Did you know MK runs multiple KTTK tours on any given day? Yeah? me neither.
As it turns out, Nebo's tour was full, but mine was not~ Nebo and Smidgy changed their ressies to the 815am tour and I swore to buy she-who-must-not-be-disturbed a drink in exchange for Nebo's getting her her half hour back.
That, by the way, will be DISmeet #2.
Hubby doesn't know about the meets yet. He thinks all my DISfriends are potential axe murderers. Wait til he gets a load-a-Nebo!
My son has an incredible sense of humor. I know this trip is gonna be fun. Seeing the look on DHs face when I tell him I know Steve and Diane will be priceless. My camera will be ready and in hand~
There is one more DISmeet on my agenda.
A DISfriend (CustardTart) is coming in from England the last night of my vacation. Hopefully she and her son aren't completely exhausted from the flight. I looked into restaurants at Saratoga Springs (where they are staying) and we will attempt to meet for dinner at the Turf Club.
...that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
I've decided to do another photographic trip report but am reverting back to the original way of posting the story, picture by picture.
No more slideshows...it's too impersonal.
as usual...stay tuned...I've got lots more....you'll be glad you did

Oh~You are OhMari! We just haven't had occasion to meet yet~
I am ok that DH is not going. DS and I need this time together. He's 22. How many more chances like this am I gonna get with him? I embrace every opportunity I get to spend with my children. DH, hopefully, will be with me for a long time to come.
I see the Axe Murderer role is taken, what other roles can I apply for? I've always been partial to chainsaws?
Colleen, I'm really sorry to hear John won't be there, can't mom just live in the streets till you get back? Now, if your son doesn't show up, we just may have to look a little bit harder at whom is starring as the axe murderer.
Don't worry, you'll still have a great time. steve

so true!!!!! I miss my sons!!! they went and got married!!! (tee hee) it says in the Bible "a man shall leave his mother and father and cleave unto his wife "(ok poetic license here), but God forgot to add the caveat that he has to go to the land of the mouse with mom and dad at least once every 2 years!!!! (and you better believe at the rapture, I will be SURE to talk to Him ..God...about that omission!!!!)
colleen, my guess is this a blessing in disguise. this will probably be the last trip with your son, just the 2 of you. cherish it. ( I remember when my sons used to love to lie on the couch next to me and put their heads on my lap. and they loved for me to pick them up... I can't remember "when was the LAST time? the last time they were small enough to do that? wish I had known that was the last time.) they grow up SO FAST..and then.... my youngest and I used to stay up till the wee hours of the morning "waxing philosophical". solving the world's problems (he was a college boy, and, of course, knew all the answers). now we can't BEG him and his wife to go to disney with us. concentrate on enjoying the trip with him!!!
oh yeah,, and Us...
I can't wait for the KTTK tour!!!! it will be tons of fun!!!

I just made our ADRs!
Only two...
We only have two days at Disney :(
Two very full days...
Thursday, December 13th.
DS and me will start our day at AK. Neither of us have ridden EE yet, EE is our mission. If we can get there early enough, we'll start by getting a fast pass for the ride and then get in line. We'll do whatever we can until about noon and then head over to the Boardwalk area.
at 1 o'clock on Thursday, DS and I have a date with Backstage Girl and Nebo and Smidgy at Beaches and Cream for our own little ice cream social.
after our ice cream social, DS and I are going in to Epcot. The rest of our day will be spent there since it's DS and my second favorite park, second only to MK of course. I booked us in to the Rose and Crown at 8pm. I wanted Tepan Edo but the earliest they had available was 915. Since the fireworks start at 9pm, 915 just wasn't gonna work.
On friday, we start our day quite early at MK for the KTTK tour. Nebo and SMidgy agreed to join us for this so I expect it to be a really good time.
by 2pm, the tour should be over. Adrian (DS) and I have one more park to hit. He and I will finish our day at MGM. The Osbourne lights go on around 6. Adrian and I will hang out to see the lights but by 7pm we'll have to head out.
I made ADRs at the Turf Club at SSR for 810 pm.
a fellow DCL cruiser and her son arrive from England Friday night kinda late. They are also staying at SSR. In hopes of meeting my newest Disney friend I booked DS and me at the Turf Club at SSR late enough so maybe Kaz (CustardTart) and her DS can join us.
14 days from tomorrow :woohoo:

I'll be in Disney the weekend before you (Dec 6-9) with my sister.
Universal!?!?! :confused3 wth?
The place looks very nice. We've stayed in various places off-site and it just doesn't feel the same to me. I vowed after our last trip to never stay off site again... even if it's only for a couple days before we move to our DVC.
That being said, your rental home looks VERY nice. :scratchin:
Pefect timing at R&C to watch Illuminations. :thumbsup2
I want detailed info on the KTTK tour. I've always wanted to do that! :yay:

It is a very nice place, no it's not Disney. It's free to me tho - just sayin~
Being there off season helps...
no late hours at the parks so no "rest time" necessary~

We should be having dessert and coffee as the show begins :3dglasses

I think Universal is okay, especially with an older teenager. My 2 boys would go younkers if we just did WDW. We even ventured over to Kennedy Space Center. It was my oldest ds, choice.
Me and dh actually loved the Rose and Crown more than LeCelliur. Get the mushroom soap, it is tons better than the cheddar cheese soup at LeCelliur.
Maybe being from WI, we are used to good tenderloin steak and decent cheese soup. Wanna hear about the Mafia Family that runs a cheese factory in our area. Their coporate office is in our little town. I wonder if I can say Mafia or am I being politically incorrect.

MDF, you are too much... :lmao:
Hiya OhMari! I am cool with Universal, my kids are older and it helps to mix the trip up a bit for them. Keeps em happy (er)
IMHO, being from Jersey, I'd say Mafiozo. Just sayin ;)
As often as we go, we've never eaten at Rose and Crown...the kids like it when I schedule stuff they've never done before. R&C, KTTK and EE are DS an my "new" things for this upcoming trip~

I love Rose & Crown, and hope you do, too. I second the mushroom soup yumminess!
If you get an outside table to see Illiminations, make sure you at least walk through the inside, just to get a feel of the atmosphere. It's very quaint.:thumbsup2

 Hi Aisling!
YOu all have me wondering which view to request now. I know I have to wait til I get to the podium to ask...
:scratchin Inside or outside?
Any recommendations?
I was going to ask for outside as long as it's warm~
I found out last night I have another DISfriend gonna be in the world that week!
Her name is Kelly, she was a teammate of mine when I played WPASADI ::yes:: We represented the Trip Reporters in an online DISgame for those who don't know what that is...
get this...she's also doing a day at Universal :duck:
What! She made her own plans! This actually gives her and I another possibility to meet. (Actual DISmeet location has yet tbd)
I told my son last night he'll be meeting a few of my friends...know what he says? Is she hot? What a boy  Gotta love him ;)
DS (Adrian) is not apprehensive about new people like his father, he is actually quite good with people. DH (John) will always call my DISers "my axe murderers."

This is a tough decision! We've done both, and here are my opinions:
Outside has a view of the water, and that's the only special thing about it. If you can see Illuminations, it'll be great, depending on where your table is. People from inside come out to see it, and it can be crowded. Outside, it was ok, but nothing special. If it wasn't for the food, I wouldn't have felt I was in a British restaurant. I recommend outside only if you want to see Illuminations from there, and/or really love English food and are basically going for the food and not the English atmosphere.
Inside, you get the full effect of the restaurant. It really is cozy and it's what I've always imagined a real English pub-style restaurant to be like. It has the pub area on the side, but people can get sandwiches there.
Have you seen any photos of the inside?
tiggerwannabe
11-27-2007, 05:47 PM
I've seen probably ONE pic of the inside of R&C~
Since we are sitting down an hourandahalf before the fireworks I will most likely ask for inside. I expect to be having coffee and dessert by 930 so walking outside for a better view is doeable...
You got pics?

The real countdown begins...
I still have to purchase our tickets. I am buying two two day park hoppers from Disney and the week long pass from Universal.
We go so often, well-I go-alot, I like to have new stuff planned every trip.
This year's new stuff?
Expedition Everest
Rose and Crown at Epcot
Keys to the Kingdom Tour
Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club
Turf Club at SSR
If I can get him in there, DS hasn't done Soarin yet. Since Epcot is planned for the second half of the day fastpasses are up in the air....and I am NOT waiting in a 90 minute line.
We've never done Mission Space, not into vomiting...
and we've never done Disney as Mother and Son. That's my favorite part.
DS is almost 22. One day, probably soon, he'll find the love of his life and trips like these are done.
A little more background on Adrian? He's handsome, and plays it...he's smart, street smart, people smart. Kids flock to him. He works, he's trying to get thru school for radiology. Imaproudmama~ He loves Disney. He's grown up with it. He knows the parks as well as I do. He likes Universal He loves Music and long walks on the beach at sunset :duck:
:lmao:
:rolleyes1
ahem.
:sad2:
:lmao:
:upsidedow
aaanyway...
we leave next week. I can't wait.
I walk the parks in my mind. It puts me in the mood.
It's Christmas in Disneyworld. It's more magical than ever.

Hi, Marita checking in here!
Actually, the meet part at first was kind of funny with Colleen.
I walked out from the arcade at 1 pm and saw a lady sitting alone at a table outside.. I thought it might be her, but I was not sure. And IRL I am a lot more shy than here, and not a big talker.
So she sat there and I sat over there............
She finally came over and asked me if I was me, LOL. Shortly after Nebo and Smidgey joined, whom I recognized immediately!
It was great meeting you all!

You guys know how it is...I've never seen a pic of Marita, I had to guess who she was. She was dressed all purty, it had to be her. I am known as a photographer, so I started taking pictures, hoping she would say hey. I spotted Smidgy helping herr Nebo with something he had on his back...then said out loud, Diane! Steve! and looked at Marita to see if she responded. She did, it was her! She is as quiet as she says~
More on that

It had been 3 years since DS has been to Universal. He'd be fine if we skipt it next time. He is as nutty as me about Disney. We agree the Magic didn't start until we got to Magic Kingdom.

We landed in Orlando around 630, lotsa people were arriving with us. I booked the rental car thru Alamo. $89 for the 7 days plus $30 for gas.
The kiosk took some time but is simple. We were headed to the garage in no time looking for what we'll drive for the week. I spotted a PT Cruiser another girl had stopped by. As quickly as she stepped away I claimed what I believed to be mine. A red, huge trunk, four cylinder, gas guzzling PT Cruiser.
Summer Bay is a time share under RCI Properties. Rose owns a house once a week every year here. Rose, her sister Terry, her niece Amy, my son Adrian and myself are staying in a 3 bedroom home at Summer Bay on 192 near Rt 27 for the next seven days.

I have to ask why?
If I were to pay for a hotel I would choose Disney over Universal. When I am choosing parks, Universal is in the kid's favor for thrill rides and the price is right. Disney still has my heart. Universal could never compare to the Magic~:wizard:

~I found out last night I have another DISfriend gonna be in the world that week!
Is she hot? What a boy  Gotta love him ;)
The answer is yes! :lmao: :lmao:
I hate we didn't get to meet up!! This has been my longest Disney trip to date and I still didn't feel like I did enough. I realized later that I was texting you from my mom's phone which displays my stepdad's name. You must have been wondering at first who that was! Duh to me!

(as you will soon see.)
We definitely felt the magic more at Disney. It's always a jolt to leave the resort for Universal and go out into the "real world." We became somewhat bored with Universal around noon. And for the record - we did the Macy's parade (this was actually a present for my Mom) - Universal has NO idea how to control a crowd for a parade. Let's just say I got lots of pictures of butts as they walked in front of us while parade watching.
I haven't been to Universal since '05. It was nice to go back, but I doubt I'll be back before Potter.
Hmpf! I boycott Universal. :snooty:
Eh. I think Universal's "anti-Disney" ads are annoying and I told them as much in my exit survey. However, I do think that Potter will bring Disney more business. I've also heard rumors that Disney is attempting to strengthen its relationship with Lucas, so they may have more Star Wars properties in the park soon as an answer to Potter. Honestly - not that they need anything to compete. Universal was like a ghosttown while WDW was hopping.

John (DH) and I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday. I took my prize out for sushi and he bought me chocolate covered strawberries. He also bought me a bottle of crown royal for me to take to Florida with me :woohoo:
I was up around 930, hung out with the family and puppies til almost 2. John wanted to treat Adrian (DS) and I to Tony Lukes but there was a Penn State game which means a really long line, so no cheesesteaks.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0002.jpg
Adrian and I were dropped off at the gate by 230 and thru security in 15 minutes. I checked the bags outside...sooo much easier, actually worth the tip.
Adrian was hungry. We stopped at a sandwich stand and he got a vegan/vegetarian sandwich (hummus, soy cheese, eggplant and bean sprouts) and a vitamin water. I got a pepsi.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/DSC_0005.jpg
The boy and I had SW boarding numbers A24 and 25. I thought that was great until the airline steward said there were only 25 on our flight today  Everyone on the plane had their own row. We had a little turbulence and saw a nice sunset from the air. I listened to Harry Potter audio book and DS listened to his iPod. Adrian says he likes the lights at night better than the sunset, he said the sunset made him think of hellfire.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/DSC_0010.jpg

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0011.jpg
Adrian and I made the obligatory potty stop and then headed to the monorail. DS asked if we had to take it, that was an emphatic yes. Have you ever noticed how long of a walk that would be without that monorail ride?!? Adrian was remembering his first trip from when he was five. He said he thought he was one of those kids who thought he was at Disney once he rode the monorail.
There were so few people on our flight that our luggage was already out and we had to run and catch it before it went thru to come around again.
Next stop was Alamo. I did the check in at the kiosk. There's alotta steps but it did seem easy. With that done we headed outside to choose our car. Of course the compacts are as far away from the terminal as it could possibly be. There were PT cruisers in the compact lane! For $90 for the week, I'll take me a PT cruiser. After watching a girl with her eye on mine walk away, we chose the red one.

Ok…we are out of the airport but not going home…just yet…
Adrian and I didn’t get our cheesesteaks, so we are hungry. He and I chose to head to Citywalk and find some grub. Funny thing is, fate didn’t want us at Universal, it seems to have wanted us to go to Disney ~We went the wrong way~ I realized that we were right next to the ramp that Rose took to get to downtown Disney, so we went to downtown.
I got us a prime parking spot, front row near Pleasure Island and we headed right towards the World of Disney store.
We passed on McD’s, walked by Santa – he was mobbed, stopped in the WOD for a minute – I wasn’t ready to start shopping just yet, and wound up at the Earl of Sandwich. I hadn’t eaten there yet so we gave it a try, it was good! The line was long but moved fast. I had the “Canonballs” or a meatball sandwich and Adrian had a chicken, spinach and mushroom sandwich. Mine was delish, he said his was “missing” something. DS also had a side of fruit and a poweraid while I opted for a chocolate chip cookie for dessert and an Amberbock as my beverage. (He’s the health nut – not me – can ya tell?)
After a nice meal, we watched a juggler just outside of EOS for a few minutes - he’s a pretty funny guy. My kids LOVE the Virgin Mega Record store, so DS and I headed over there. Normally we find whatever they are looking for there but no luck this time. He and I then walked back to the car but didn’t leave, yet. Adrian wanted a smoothie, he knew EOS had them too, so back to the Earl we go…He got a chocolate/banana, very small but he said very good, smoothie. The juggler was *still* outside EOS (doing his second show I think) so we stopped and watched the rest of his show and finally were headed home…or not ;)
It was 10:30, we were staying out on 192 at Summer Bay, and still had another stop before we could rest…we needed some kind of grocery store…we got to Publix only to find out it had closed at 10. We turned around on 192 and about 3 blocks back found an open Walgreens. Adrian and I finally got what we needed and were headed home.
The guards at the gate of Summer Bay were a little dense. We were staying with Rose Bulleck, they’d say “Bullet?” Noooo B-u-l-l-e-c-k! Who? Ok, maybe it’s under Ed. Please check your list for Ed Bulleck? Bullet? Noooooo….Adrian, help me out here please? The next guy comes out and I only had to say Rose’s name twice before he got it and let us in. I was complaining about the whole “ordeal” and Adrian tells me I should be very happy they are so cautious about who gets let on property and let it go. I agreed.
Since Rose was back at the airport picking up her sister and niece I had to go to check in and get a key card for the house. Thank goodness that part was easy ~The house was just as I remembered except my room seems to have less furniture :confused3 I remember a full wardrobe cabinet in there and now there is only the two beds, a 3 drawer dresser and one nightstand. There is a full closet and no mirror. Considering my stay was free (it’s a timeshare property owned by Rose – bought and paid for) I’ll deal with it. I made good use of the shelf in the closet and hung what I could, I took one drawer for my necessities and the nightstand drawer for my jewelry, medicine and all my paperwork. Adrian took the other two drawers, used the windowsill next to his bed for his electronics and kept a lot of his stuff in his suitcase.
Rose got back with her sister and niece around 11:30. We chatted a little, I popped open my Crown Royal while DS watched Final Destination 4. He took no time to fall asleep, I hit the shower before going to bed – we were headed to Universal in the morning. Rose and her sister and niece were headed to Cocoa Beach – they were hoping to see the Shuttle launch.
All in all, it was a long day, but a good day….I was happy just being there….
Next chapter…the Photographs begin!!!

Adrian and I slept in our first full day, we were up around ten and at Universal IOA by noon. I bought the 7 day pass online with electronic pickup at the gate. The ticket was $85 for 7 days, we went to what looks like an ATM at the front gate, I inserted my credit card and confirmation number, got our two tickets and we were off again…
We rode Hulk first since I had never done it. It’s an awesome coaster that absolutely must not be done on an empty stomach…I was soooo ready to throw up I didn’t think I’d make it off the coaster before I spewed…I made it off…I never spewed…but I really felt lousy for the rest of the day. It was my first and last time ever on the infamous Hulk.

Because I was still reeling from Hulk for most of the day, Adrian and I took it easy and wandered most of our time at IOA…by now we were both very hungry, breakfast for him was an oatmeal bar and I had nothing…we were really trying to eat right this trip so the normal burgers, hot dogs and chicken just weren’t gonna cut it. I suggested the Oak Room near Sinbad and Poseiden. Adrian had roasted chicken and ribs with a baked potato and corn on the cob, I was not being so healthy and had a bacon cheeseburger and corn with a Sam Adams.
We continue our tour of the islands, forgoing dueling dragons til another day…normally I ride it but seriously, Hulk messed. me. up. Time for more photos…

Rose came home from Cocoa Beach that night saying something was weird, namely the jellyfish…something was wrong with them, they were all scaley and all over the beach. In two more days we would find out why. I asked Rose if she got a picture so I could see what she meant…she never thought to take out her camera :faint:
Adrian and I closed the shops at the outlet mall near Universal. Well, he did really – I only shopped in the Disney store~

I gotta tell you. It's very strange for me to see character pictures with Scooby Doo, Curious George, and the Simpsons. I don't know why? :confused3

Adrian and Amy wanted Deuling Dragons next, it was already 3pm so Rose, Terry and I headed into the Oak Room for Happy Hour. I got a Sam Adams again, Rose had Corona and Terry opted for a Pina Colada.

The Ladies wanted to go back over to movies for the Macys Day parade…Adrian and I weren’t coming back to these parks and had some shopping to do. We left Rose and Terry and Amy to watch the parade and headed over to Jaws to get my daughter her requested shirt. Did you know? Jaws merchandise is sold NOWHERE in the Universal parks except just outside the ride on a teeny tiny kiosk. Yeah, me neither.

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0185.jpg
We still had a shirt to buy for DDs boyfriend, Adrian got the brilliant idea to go alllll the way back to the Islands to get him a Marvel shirt :faint: It’s not that bad of a walk until you walk it five times in one day…
Time for one last shot on our way to the other side
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0186.jpg
Adrian picked out a collage of all the Marvel superheroes for Cliff. It was that or the Marvel zombies, Cliff was very happy with his shirt.
Adrian and I were hungry but weren’t sure where we should eat. Rose, Terry and Amy went to a Friday’s or something –
I knew of the Porch of Indecision, thank you Nebo, and suggest to Adrian we go at least for appetizers and a beverage there.

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0188.jpg
We started with crab dip a soda and a bahama mama and ended up ordering a crabcake sandwich for him and a pulled pork sandwich for me. Filled up and rested he was ready for more shopping. I only insisted we try a different place, closer to home. Premium outlets are about 20 minutes closer to where we were staying than the Premier outlets we visited the night before…bonus is, they both had a Disney store. The stores were open til 11pm, we were still there as everything was closing.
I got into the habit of taking DSs picture at the beginning and end of every day…
this mood was a little profane…you’ll only get the link to this one if you request it via PM
:ssst: – adults only please.
My feet and my shins were sore…Adrian said we both had shin splints from all the walking we’d done over the last two days.
Thankfully, our house has a hot tub…I was in it around 12:30 til 1 soaking my sore muscles, took a hot shower and headed to bed

Nebo says, "going to Uni is a good thing."
It creates competition and competition is what forces Disney (and Universal for that matter) to constantly improve. ::yes:: A Simpsons ride, Disaster ride and Harry Potter Land are being built at Universal. Disney is building Cruise Ships :woohoo:
It absolutely makes me Love Disney all the more. I am dead serious. After two days at Universal I long for the happiness that going to Disneyworld brings me.

He's got two pins holding each elbow on and wires holding them in. They say he can keep them in there forever unless they try to come out on their own after he heals. If they do, he only needs a local anesthetic to have them removed. He should be able to shower by Sunday. His comment was now he's gonna set off metal detectors :upsidedow

Up at 10am today. Toast and coffee for breakfast. Adrian and I are going to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tonight so we decided to take it easy and sleep in. It’s a good thing too. Most of you won’t know, I have very bad allergies. I am not normal, so my allergies tend to come out a bit different than most. I get hives.
One of my biggest issues when traveling is sleeping in strange beds. Dust mites live in bedding. I am allergic to dust mites. This bed is one of the worst I have ever had to deal with. I had been progressively been getting more and more hives every day and it took me til now to realize it was the bed that was causing them.
I tend to get hives the first day of travel anyway, so when they didn’t fade by the third day I had to look for the cause. I looked at the mattress. It was horribly old looking. Most of my hives were on my torso and hands, where I lay, so it was by then obvious to me why. Washing bedding in HOT water is the first line of defense, so I did. Since we had til 330 before we had to be on our way to MK I took the day to wash the bedding and a few of our clothes.
Second line of defense is a hot shower. I know a lot of nurses, they all think I’m crazy when I say the hot water helps my hives. “Normally hot water would spread them.” I am not normal.
I got my shower around two and Adrian and I were on our way to MK by 3pm.
It’s a good thing we left early, our luck with the monorail was horrible this time around. The stupid thing stopped at least three times, and we were on the express. It kept saying there was traffic ahead and we’d be moving as soon as it’s clear.
Here’s Adrian on his way into the party~

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0198.jpg
By the time we made it this far into the park, Adrian and I had had enough of each other. We were suddenly at each other’s throat. No matter what we said to each other the attitudes just got worse. After a few choice words anyone here would be embarrassed to have overheard at any Disney park, we went our separate ways.
He went towards Frontierland and I headed back to the front of the park.
It didn’t take me long to come to my senses. To realize, no matter how much we disagreed, it wasn’t worth fighting in the Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, it took us three hours to find each other again. It wasn’t for lack of trying…he rode a few rides, Jungle cruise, Pirates, Splash Mtn. and in between, he’d go back to the hub and see if I was there. He never walked up to the front at Town Square, Town Square is where I stood for almost the full three hours. I’d walked back to the hub once and up front to the payphones three times to call his cell phone. Turns out he left his cell phone in the car.
I took these while waiting for him.

Eventually, Adrian came up to Town Square and found me videotaping the people around me. We hugged first, apologized for being stupid and moved on as if none of it ever happened.
He walked thru one of the gift shops while he was separated from me and took me through there on our way back up main street. I found another Mickey ornament I’d love to have and took a picture of it to take home.

I turned around and got another shot of main street at night.

After checking out the MVMCP pins in the gift shops, we went for some free grub. The party is known for giving out treats, it was nice to see a variety being offered. Besides cookies and hot chocolate we could get apple slices and apple cider if we were to choose something healthy.

We spotted Alice and the Queen of hearts on our way past the teacups. Alice was teaching a little princess how to bow when presented to the Queen.

The teacups have never been my cup to ride, thank goodness DS didn’t want to either.

We walked by Dumbo, this photo was intentionally taken this way

The carousel was all lit up and pretty

We were headed back to the front to get more video of the parade.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a42/MousMManiac/FL1207wAidz/FLScenes/DSC_0235.jpg
Adrian grabbed a veggie burger while I videoed the parade and I grabbed a hot dog at Casey’s. The tree looked as pretty at the end of the night as it did at the beginning.

I got a clear shot of the banner as we left, they were just hanging it when we had gone in.

Here is Adrian leaving the party.

We were back at the house by 1130 pm. We’d made another quick stop at the outlets before going home, it closed at 11 this time.
Rose and Amy and Terry had stayed at the park til it closed late that night. Rose shared some of her photopass shots with me, here are some samples for you.

Heidi, I have a few more for you to see in later chapters~ ::yes::
this is the first time I've ever mentioned my allergies in a trip report~I also usually take an allergy bed cover with me-with this bed being a twin, I didn't and should have. I've been dealing with a long list of them for-eva! If anything, I could give you hotel suggestions based on my allergic reactions or lack of~
Clark's Inn in Santee, SC so far has been the best.
MDF, my son is the one who's diet conscious....I try to eat healthy but rarely succeed :confused3 Can you believe I have NEVER eaten at Casey's before this last trip? Totally worthy of the caloric content, you'd probably be happier if they deep fried them ;)

I am so sorry...
I have three excuses:
As if being in school full time wasn't enough
My husband broke BOTH elbows at the end of january
Recently, our big dog was dignosed with cancer
Each is turning out well, but Oh Boy! What a winter I've had~
School is done in three weeks
Hubby is back to work and mending
Big Dog has a really good prognosis!
I'll come back if'n you want me...I'd hate to leave the story hanging~

Hi all! I am back for a moment...
I'll be working on finals the next two weeks and *then* should have time to come back and share the rest of this trip. I don't have a job yet and still have 15 free credits available thru unemployment, so I am staying in school for the summer!
My business administration credits are all done. My next goal is to continue my education in the Arts or if those classes aren't available, try teaching. I believe fate will point me where I need to go~
I've got lots more to share and some famous trip reporters to talk about at the end of this trip...so, as usual my friends....stay tuned!

You're right. Everything will unfold as it should. Looking forward to your update when you can get to it......you know, in your spare time.:teeth:
I hope hubby, puppy, and you all are doing great.
