View Full Version : Congratulations to the Womens Hockey Team

The team played a great tournament. Just wanted to say congratulations. The team really seemed to climb two obstacles to take the gold, first was the US team, second was the horrible officiating. I rarely see such poor officiating from NHL refs! Seems that Can. was getting the short end of the stick for most of the game.

Again, congrats!

Looks like going into the Olympics as the favourite is the kiss of death for Gold medal hopes. The Canadians in Nagano and now the Americans in SLC. Very exciting game in spite of the officiating.

Nagle, my DD is in your city this weekend for a girls hockey tournament. I am hoping they have the same success as the Canadian women had.
Jdads, its nice to know that we weren't the only ones to disagree with most of the calls the refs made.

Hockeymom, I coach my DS's Atom H.L. team. Both local rinks are booked solid and I am having a heck of a time getting our playoff hours booked. Looks like we will have to wait an extra week to continue our series. Oh well. Good luck to your DD. One of the guys I work with coaches the Brockville girl's team that won the Silver Stick (?) tournament last weekend. Was your daughter there too?

Oh my gosh what a small world. Yes, my DD was there last weekend, and they won silver in the Atom C divsion. She is in your city right now in the C divsion. If you happen to be out and about she plays for Peterbough Bulk Barn and she is the goalie. Good luck to your DS's hockey team.

My 10 yr old son is the goalie on our team. Not an easy thing to watch at times.

Thank you for the nice words Jdad2 it means alot to us Canadians to see that our women are appreciated all over the country and in the States Sorry you had to lose but hey it was a good game. As for all the parents here with goalies I too play goal and hope my girls both want to be goalies it is the best position in my opinion and it is a biased one as I am a goalie hehe. I played travel hockey growing up and was on the ice 7 to 10 times a week and had a new set of equipment every year my parents must have hated the fact I was a goalie but hey they never said anything. Again heres to Canadas womens team
