i just read somewhere that the carribean is a very calm sailing area except during hurricane season....they include in that the time we'll be sailing (early July)....

all those of you who have cruised before during that time of year...
what's been your experience with the weather?..
how has it affected your cruise? (seasickness etc)..
were the shore visits affected? (e.g. Castaway Cay)..

anything else you can tell me on the subject would be appreciated..
i know that when we're in WDW in the summer, it rains every day....sometimes torrentially (last summer there were a few storms that i thought were going to wipe us from the face of the earth......the wrath of god and all that)....

Although Hurricane Season officially runs from June 1 to November 30, the peak of activity typically runs from mid-August to mid-October. Most folks sailing in July have reported calm seas, but hot and humid weather both onboard and at the ports of call. The heat and humidity may be slightly less oppressive than Orlando in July, however... there are the nice tradewinds offshore that help to make things a bit more comfortable.
