The return of the Monchichis!

OMG, I love the fact that they sell those hideous little Monchichis in Japan! And I almost died when Kevin said that he has said that someone looks like one. My sister and I say that too! Most of the time people have no idea what we are talking about! And there used to be this horrible little theme song. Anyone remember it?:rotfl:

I was so thrilled to see the picture of them in the photo gallery from Julie's shopping trip. I loved mine when I was a kid. This 38 year old woman cannot wait to buy one 2 weeks from now!

I had to laugh at you singing because...I did the exact same thing in October when I saw them there! Hadn't thought of them in years. My daughter had one when she was little and loved it!

I looove Monchichis! I even still have one from like 25 years ago, when the show was on tv. I was so excited that they were in Japan. I've bought two of them, and I got another one for a friend who likes them, too. I brought my old one to work and most people thought it was scary. :confused3 (And not because it's old, it's still in good shape.) Most of them were younger than me and had never heard of it.

How could anyone think that's scary??? I want that one! :love: The two I got at Japan in Epcot were a baby and one dressed as a bunch of grapes. That one is adorable.

I still have mine - he must be about 28 years old anyway - I am 36 now!! In the UK they were called Chickaboo. I cant wait to go to Japan now :)

I just talked to a girl here at work who thinks she still has one. (She has something, she's just not sure it's a Monchichi.)

My old one is wearing white overalls and a red hat. :cool2:

There was a hilarious thread on the Theme Parks board that eventually got shut down but it had pictures of "questionable" items from the Japanese store. Items that had descriptions but since they were in Japanese, who knew what they were for???

:rotfl: I had done the same thing earlier today, and then was sending them to my co-workers. I was surprised to find out that I had mixed up the songs. The song from the commercials is what I thought was the theme to the cartoon. But I did remember the cartoon song, too, once I heard it. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to say that I went to Epcot and bought a baby Monchichi this weekend! I wanted to buy every last one, but I thought my daughter would like the baby best! I am so excited to see this toy again as I truly loved mine as a child.
