I'm planning a trip to WDW in late Sept. I'm about 450 lbs., need a wheelchair to travel any distance, and would like any information, suggestions to assist my family and me. I'd like to find a motorized anything (W/C, scooter) to rent for use while we're there.
Thanks

Welcome.
Here are the different companies that DIS readers have posted they used:
Care Medical:
http://www.caremedicalequipment.com/
Walker Mobility:
1-888-726-6837
www.walkermobility.com
RANDY'S Mobility is in Kissimmee 407-892-4777

Colonial Medical

If they don't list what you need on their website, try emailing or calling their toll free numbers. I know that equipment exists in the size you need, it just may not be listed.
Good luck.

If you are interested in purchasing.... Just an idea... dis-abilities.com is a great website. They have a wide range of scooter/wc manufactures listed under mobility. Bruno, pride, Eand J, all have great products for those of us in the big and beautiful crowd. Seating and stability, power of unit are all things to remember when looking at the cost of a w/c or scooter. It does cost more for a larger unit... but you do pay for what you get in this industry.
You could also do a web search for power wheelchairs and scooters for individual manufactures. There are quite a few options. Have a great time at WDW Sam!

I am 6'7" and about 300 lbs. Before I had my own scooter I rented one from Walker mobility. They have scooters that you will be comfortable in. They do rent for a little more than the smaller ones, but it is well worth it.
Have a great time!!!!!!
