My family (DH and 3DD) are coming to WDW for CHristmas time this year and we have a 2 bedroom BW villa rented for Dec 22 through Jan 4. My question is since we have a full kitchen has anyone else ever had someone like Goodings supply a partially cooked turkey meal to be finished cooking in the villa? Are there other ways of accomplishing this? Other vendors? I know it sounds silly but we will be eating out all the time and have always thought how nice it would be to cook and eat a meal during the holidays in our own villa. Any help in accomplishing this feat will be appreciated.

Goodings, as well as Publix (and I'm sure Winn-Dixie) sell pre-cooked turkey dinners. They won't sell a partially cooked bird....that would invite salmonella. You would have to pick it up from the store. Some years DVC also offers a meal but I'm not sure if they did it last year or not.

We did a Thanksgiving meal like this in '99. We used Goodings, but I am sure other stores do it as well. There was turkey, dressing (not like Mama's but dressing nonetheless!), cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and a pie. We added some other vegetable, I think, and I purchased some other things from the deli. It all came to about $45 which really, really impressed my too-thrifty husband. It was really nice having the meal at our villa, and nice having the leftovers too. We will also be there at Christmas this year in a GV at OKW, and since my husband is going (he usually doesn't), I will do this sort of meal again.

I'm going to be at OKW for the same dates!
I'll have to look into this myself. It would be the first time in 10 years of vacations that I would be cooking. (Well, heating up a meal.;) )
