Just saw it on the LA news ... broke down, sitting there for about an hour before the fire dept. showed up and started pullin' 'em out via ladder (broke down where they couldn't get a bucket truck in there of course).

I'm bettin' they all get free passes back to the park!!

Once again the LA local news way overreacts. I'm sitting at the Disneyland Hotel overlooking Downtown Disney and saw about 10 helicopters hovering around so we knew something was going on. A monorail got stuck and the guests had to climb down ladders to get out. No injury, no big deal, just a mechanical problem.

The Orlando local news trys to connect all kinds of garbage to WDW... "Man attacked by dogs in cleremont, What could Disney have done to prevent it?" They're waaaaay too sensational (as if ratings really matter on local news...) the worst part is this: the ABC affiliate is the one that does it the most.
Oy... what a world...

I guess since the monorail is such an icon and with all the hubba-baloo needed to get passengers down it was newsworthy, but did they ever report when Rocket Rods wasn't working (well, maybe a bad example), etc...

Also, a short while back (month or so) I heard on national news (CNN or similar) about neighboring Anaheim residents complaining about DLR's fireworks... turned out it was like 10 families, but because it's Disney... AOLTW likes to mention the faults of a competitor... There's a local, fairly large amusement park in our neck of the woods that's frequently in conflict with their neighbors about ride noise, fireworks, etc... but it'll never make national news...
