Disneyland 1/2 Marathon Registration

Disney has opened up registration for the DL 1/2. The race is on Sunday Aug 31, 2008. Reg is $100. 5K $40.

They also removed the So Cal runner limit they added last year!

Yup. I was sent an email from WDW Sports stating that registration is now open for the 2008 DL Half. I'm already signed up. Anyone else??????

We need to start a DL Half training thread!!! I haven't registered yet but it's definitely on my radar! Hopefully the weather cooperates this year ;).

Great idea! After my dismal effort this year, I have loftier goals for next year, regardless what the weather has to offer. I started training already and have mixed in some intervals and speed work. I hope to better my time next time around. How about you?

I plan on registering after Christmas. This will be my first 1/2 marathon and I have a couple of questions.

I looked at the website and it reads like it starts at the convention center. I know someone had told me that it begins and ends at Downtown Disney, so I am wondering if that has changed or if I am misunderstanding what I read.

I also noticed on the registration it asks if you are walking the marathon. Do they mean the whole time? My plan at the moment (well my trainers plan:rotfl: ) is to run more than walk, so I wasn't sure what I would mark. I haven't ran more than a minute at a time yet, but we are going to start training in January.

Thanks for the help, I know I will probably have a ton more questions before August.

If you look at the race map, the course passes the convention center just before entering CA around mile one.

I saw the walking thing also. I think that they are going to put people who walk (the whole race & intentionally)towards the back. Hard to do as walkers like WWDave can outwalk many runners. It should be based on estimated time.

If knee surgery goes well on 1/31/08, than I will join you:)
